These are fabulous and quite rare. McCardell was known for her ability to make sportswear chic and she as one of the early designers to not just offer up a dress but she produced the entire look - including sunglasses. I have included an ad from 1953 and also found examples of her work held at The Met. These are a great example with their bright metallic painted plastic frames. They are a classic cat eye with the original lenses.
Marked Claire McCardell on the inner arm. The pattern appears to be hand painted or fused int the plastic. I see no major scratches or marks on the lenses and believe that they are the original as they feel to be glass. Note that the inner nose pads have disintegrated and fallen off completely. Part of me suspects they were added later anyway but in any case they are no longer there. They sit fine on the face as is.

Wonderful vintage Christian Dior gloves that are made from the finest, lightest black suede. They are self-backed which allows them to perfectly mold to your hand and be extremely comfortable to wear. They have the Dior logo stamp along with the size 7 1/2 mark. Each glove is elbow length and I love the row of crystal encrusted little silver metal flowers that run up the side of each glove.
Excellent condition and looked to have been worn minimally if at all. Stamped inside as photoed. Size 7 1/2. No box

This is a fine and rare 1960s belt that is a huge statement piece. It actually came with a James Galanos dress that was not salvageable and I have had it tucked away for some time. It has no markings but did match the dress it came from so I believe it to be a Galanos piece that was most likely custom made for that dress. The belt is huge - almost more of a waist cincher then a true belt. It is made of suede with a leather backed stuff buckle and then the rest of the belt is pieced suede with a strong graphic design running over it in a combination of a pink, copper tone and taupe. Really unusual and a strong piece.
Unmarked and closes with the front slide buckle. There are marks through the suede as shown - I have not had it cleaned and these could all potentially come out. They don't really bother me since its such a strong piece and I find on vintage suede and leathers that bit of a "lived in feel' add to the authentic feel of each piece

Sybil Connolly's trademark pleats required a tremendous amount of fabric. To construct one pleated evening dress required between 72 and 90 yards of Irish handkerchief linen and even in a small accessory like this piece there would be yards and yards used. Like the early 20th century designer Mario Fortuny, Sybil Connolly was very protective of her pleating process, swearing that it was a secret she would "carry to the grave." Here we have a wonderful little example of her work in a soft pastel pink. It is a little evening shoulder piece that you would slide over the shoulders to top an outfit. It has a ruffled edge. It is unusual to find a piece in this color and its a wonderful example of her work.
Backed in a silk satin with straps that you slip your arms through and a hook and eye at each point. There is some light discoloration on part of the ruffled bits on each side. Its barely there and in some lights you don't see it but it is present. Priced accordingly and wearable as is

If you collect hats you will be thrilled to see this little beauty as it is just exceptional. I am dating this to the early 1950s and I have to admit that I have not seen a hat this wonderful before. The cap base is made of a woven palm leaf that has been hand dyed red. Onto this are little burst of berries. Each hand placed. What is remarkable is that each of this berries is actually a small glass ball painted red. They are set so that they move and lightly brush against each other making a whispering tinkling noise. It is just extraordinary and a real treasure for the collector or hat lover.
It is made to just sit on the top of the head and so doe snot have a true hat size as it should fit any size head.

This is a superb graphic beaded bag by Pierre Cardin. These are especially collectible and this one is a wonderful example. Te exterior of the bag is entirely covered in hand placed teeny tiny seed beads. On the front and extending over the sides is a graphic angular design in rich earth tones and coppers. The back is a solid panel of cream seed beads. This is set on a brass frame and it has a matching link chain that can be tucked in or worn over the shoulder. I love the enamel clasp on the top. Excellent condition
Lined in a cream silky satin with one side slip pocket and the original mirror. There are some light pink marks in the interior. I see no missing beads.

The Krizia label has always been synonymous with Italian fashion and they have been around since 1954. In 1967 the started knitwear and soon became masters at it. This is a great little example of that from the eighties when everything was mandated to be short and tight on the bottom and extremely voluminous on the top (or vice versa). The bandage dress was all the rage and this skirt has that feel. It is a combination of knit and cord-work that is all done with some kind of elastic worked through it so that it has some stretch. It looks structured when you see it but it really moves and mold to your shape. The texture of the knit gives it lots of interest. Its a great little skirt that will be easy to work into a modern wardrobe. Excellent condition.
Unlined and slips on the wear. The fabric has stretch and the measurements given are flat to the comfortable stretch. The stretch will allow it to fit on a larger variety of sizes

When I saw this I instantly recognized it as I have had a similar version in the shop before but in a more lavender color then the pink of this one. This one is also slightly larger then the last and is cut to have even more volume, which I personally love even more. The photos do not even begin to convey the amount of fabric in the skirt and the sheer opulence of this piece. The fabric is a highly polished cotton or cotton mix and has a screened design that covers it and is a literal explosion of flowers that covers the skirt from top to bottom. The background is a beautiful romantic feeling, pale soft pink and the skirt cascades out from the waist in a series of tiny gathers. This gives the skirt its tremendous volume and there are yards of fabric used in its construction. But at the same time it does not feel overwhelming or have that "cupcake" shape that can make you feel larger then you are. It has a good weight to it when you first pick it up but feels surprisingly light and balanced once on. Excellent condition

The embroidery work on this butter soft, black leather jacket is exquisite. The work is all done by Lesage and it is mind boggling in person. I have tried to capture the dimension and 3D aspect of it with my camera but it just does not convey the pure depth and textural impact that you will get in person. An entire garden of flowers have been meticulously transplanted onto the surface of the jacket in their complete 3 dimensional glory. Little detailing of beads and sequins complete the illusion of a floral bouquet that has been added to the entire surface of the jacket. The blooms literally stand off the leather in places and the colors are deep and true. This is really a literal work of art and is like wearing a painting - all atop a chic slim fitting leather jacket. The cut is simple with no collar or closures and this is a deliberate choice in order to allow as much of a surface as possible to accommodate the craftsmanship of the floral design. It is simple but dramatic and a one off so is even that much more special. The level of work and masterful cut is wonderful The tag is numbered 26 967. Excellent condition

This wonderful jacket is such a strong statement piece. Its twin walked the Fall/Winter 1990-91 runway. In this collection Yves touch upon and built on his famous "Chinese Collection" of 1977/78. I absolutely love it and instantly had to have it for the shop when I spotted it. This is Yves Saint Laurent at his best and the cut is tremendously flattering once it is slipped on. The silk brocade is the perfect blue undertone red that works on most skin tones. It has a slightly puffed design that is woven through the fabric that gives it the most fabulous texture and depth. The seams are piped in black silk cord and really define the jacket and the lovely lines it has. I love the high collar and those four large silk cord frog knots that close the jacket down the front. The peplum at the hip adds shape and drama and gives it a couture flare. This is really a fabulous and well constructed jacket that will add instant glamor to any outfit whether you dress it up or down. Excellent condition.

The Gucci label has seen a resurgence under Alessandro Michele that is almost historical in its impact on the brand and the label has once again developed a cult like following. Many of the pieces have their roots in the archives of the house and he draws particularly from the sixties and seventies periods of Gucci. There is just something about these late 1960s, early 1970s pieces that seem timeless and fresh yet again. This jacket is a fabulous example of why that is so and it is a true treasure and I doubt it will remain available very long. It is a wonderful suede jacket that combined a black base with neutral suede accents for the collar, at the cuffs and those spectacular front pockets. Each of the top set pockets has a the house's signature pheasants embroidered on the pockets. The collars are long and pointed and the cuffs detailed with buckle straps. If that was not enough the gold toned buttons appear to be little curled u on themselves hunting horns. A lining fully embossed withe the Gucci crests and logo is the perfect finish. Excellent vintage condition
Fully lined in a Gucci embellished lining and closes with the gold buttons as seen. It has an extra button sewn along the interior lining. The lighter suede parts show minor grubbiness. Very slight natural patina under the buttons. In a piece like this - these are all pluses as it adds to its original vintage feel. It is sold in clean, as found condition. In 1988 Yves did an entire series using slipper satins in an entire palette of vibrant, beautiful colors. I believe this to be from that collection or near to it. This is a fabric that is very hard to work with and yet he pulls it off to perfection. It is really a fabulous color , the rich silk gives it an even deeper dimension and it seems to glow from within. It has that classic YSL cut through the body and this one has an extra pleat detail that runs down either side of the buttons. A velvet tie is attached at the neck and this tops the most amazing gold toned floral buttons that have a pearl center topping each. The sleeves slightly puff once the cuffs are done up and it features his classic extra gathers at each shoulder for a slight take on a Victorian feel. Each cuff has another amazing button but here they are an enamel blue flower. It is a gorgeous silk scarf silk weight silk. It has one small flaw that I think is forgivable (more below) and it's a steal at this price with those amazing buttons and fabric.
The top is unlined and closes with the gorgeous gold and pearl buttons down the front. The tie at attached at the back of the neck and snaps into place over the button there. The cuffs each button to close. There is one small smudge on the front (photoed) it has been priced down quite a bit accordingly. Tagged A YSL 38 but this one is cut a little larger

I love this beautiful deep purple, printed chiffon crepe blouse by the now defunct D&G division of Dolce and Gabanna. It is really quite fabulous and has an amazing floral print screened onto the chiffon that gives it a rich and feminine. Really fabulous. The tie is attached and extends from the collar and can be styled several ways from a simple looped tie to a more elaborate bow. Each cuff buttons at the wrist with pretty pearl buttons so you get a bit of a pouf on the sleeve above. It is made of a gorgeous light weight, fine grade chiffon and I love the hidden set buttons that run down the front giving it that perfect high end feel. A classic. Excellent condition.

This is a beautiful and unusual 1960's canvas handbag by Hermes with a beige canvas linen body and a saddle colored, tan leather trim. The leather handle is quite amazing - it has a sliding clasp so that you can adjust the length from a cross body long strap, or undo that clasp at the top, cross the strap over itself to create a double strap which then slides into place along the sides of the bag. It is quite genius. The front of the bag has the beautiful curved signature Hermes flap top closure with a gold tone, turnkey metal clasp to fasten. A zippered pocket sits under that fold at the top of the front bag and inside are two slot pockets, one of which is divided into two. Fully lined in tan goatskin. Made in France. In great over all vintage condition,
Wear to the leather throughout with light scuffs, scratched and some minor loss of color as seen in the images. The inside has a few marks from wear and age and the canvas shows some grubbiness. Sold as found. It is possible to take these bags to an Hermes boutique and send then pff to their "spa" for a refresh. There is a cost to that that is bag by bag dependent and I have priced the bag with that in mind so you are getting it at a very good price for such an wonderful and unusual vintage Hermes! This is real fashion history.
the bag measures 10" W x 8" H x 2.5" D. When the handle is worn long it adds 19" to the height. When it is worn short it adds 8" to the height. It has three interior slot pockets, one of which is stitched down the middle to divide it and one exterior zippered pockets.

This little piece is just amazing. It is a sexy little corset top but is cut so that if you are very daring you could probably get away with it as a micro mini - especially over opaque tights. It would look equally fabulous over a pair of trousers and you could even mix it over jeans or a skirt. It is so versatile. It is completely covered in glossy black sequins and the bodice is peaked and boned. It has a bit of a showgirl feel to it. The waist nips in and then it has a spectacular ruffled peplum that really has a lot of volume and fullness and is cut to sit perfectly over the hip. This is from the main-line label and I would consider it demi-couture. Excellent condition

Iridescent silver sequins glimmer like a living thing and completely cover both the tank and the jacket on this fabulous Halston twin set. Halston takes the lady like staple to new heights of sexy by covering it with sequins in this way. Both pieces are father light - the sequins are all hand sewn onto a bias cut black silk chiffon. They look like they have weight but they are actually like wearing a second skin. The tank is typical Halston in cut and the jacket slips over it and creates a beautiful slim line with a slightly puffed shoulders. The impact of that shimmer is fabulous once on the body. This skirt has double provenance and importance. First it is by the iconic Mr. Freedom label, a shop in London opened by Tommy Roberts that featured both clothing and furniture that perfectly fit the pop inspired culture of that late sixties and early seventies. The pieces from this time period and this particular label have reached cult status in the vintage world and pieces from this label are rare and hard to find. The boutique catered to the pop icons of that era and the Rolling Stones were repeat clients - and that brings us to the second part of this skirt's provenance as this was owned by Astrid Lundstrom who was Bill Wyman's common-law wife from 1967 till 1983. Bill was of course the bassist for the Stones from 1962 until 1993. This was acquired directly from Astrid and was worn and loved by her. It is made of a black panne velvet with a large applique detail near the hem at the front. A yoke detail sits at the waist. It is fitted through the waist. skins over the hips and then flares out as it nears the hem. It is very small so was pinned to the Judy for the photos so will of course fit properly on the correct sized girl.

Though I have had several Haute Couture tops from the Yves Saint Laurent atelier now, this dotted one is one of my favorites. The dotted print, grosgrain bow at the neck and lines of the top are pure Yves and really represent his work. This beautiful silk blouse was produced and made by hand, under Yves Saint Laurent himself. It is a true treasure. Haute Couture is the very pinnacle of the fashion experience and I would hazard to say that vintage versions are even a little more special then modern ones. This piece comes direct from the daughter of the original Haute Couture client so has not been on the market prior to this.
The top is amazing and a classic Yves Saint Laurent cut and silhouette. It is entirely done by hand and the silk is of the highest possible grade. It feels stupendous on. The top is a classic fit and the sleeves slightly voluminous above their deep French cuffs. The shoulders are gathered with a slight, refined cap and I have included a photo of how the inner shoulder is constructed - instead of a padding there is a gathered pleated panel of fabric along the inner edge that give just the slightest lift to the shoulder. It is truly a genius and special detail that only you will know of when wearing the top. I love the play on the tuxedo shirt through the panels of fabric that run down the front and hide the buttons and is picked up again down the back. It is truly a brilliant piece that when you see it in person you will be astounded at the level of craftsmanship and care put into the construction. A masterpiece. In excellent, museum quality condition.
Unlined with all interior seams hand finished. It closes with hand set, hidden buttons and silk covered, hand set snaps at the front. Small padding detail as shown in each shoulder. The bow is attached. French cuffs, however they do not have the buttons. My client recalls her mother wearing these with jeweled cuffs and we suspect she ordered it without buttons since she wore her own jeweled version. There is the teeniest of pinking to some of the white dots under one arm - this will not be apparent when on. Priced accordingly. Entirely hand done as one would expect from Haute Couture. Finished to Haute Couture standards and entirely done by hand.

This Courreges scarf is quite fabulous and a beautiful and unusual piece. These were produced in and around 1970 and the designs all hand painted and then screened onto silk or cotton. This version is a light fine, white cotton with the stunning pink and green print. The figure on it suggests a girl playing in the waves or on the sand. This one looks brand new and the white is clean and crisp.

Handrolled silk Hermes scarf with a beautiful print. I believe this colorway was issued in 2000. It is still available in boutiques now but no longer in this color. From the Hermes website on this pattern:
A naturalist working for the National Natural History Museum in Paris, Robert Dallet was incomparably skilled in magnifying the inimitable coat, forceful lines and strength of the big cats; strength in the most accurate way. He designed a picture of love for us… Observed by the curious jungle’s inhabitants, the two leopards size each other up in an amorous display.

I Have a Question
This beautiful silk top was made by hand at the Chanel atelier. It is a true numbered Haute Couture. This piece comes directly from the daughter of the original Haute Couture client who was buying from Chanel in the early to mid-1970s. It is a remarkable example of her work during this time period.
The top is done in a classic Chanel cut and silhouette. It is entirely done by hand and the silk is light and easy feeling. It is as finely tailored and cut as a jacket would be and every stitch and line is deliberately placed. The top is cut in a long, straight silhouette through the body and the sleeves are slightly voluminous above their French cuffs. The shoulders are soft. The front is kept simple with the buttons hidden under one side of the pleating. It does up under the one side and then closes across the shoulder to the bow. The collar is small and neat with ties that extend out from it that you tie into a bow. The front is knife pleated on either side. The colour is a orally taupe, the photos here are very close but in real life it has more of an impact to it. It is truly a brilliant piece and when you see it in person, the level of craftsmanship and care put into the construction is even more apparent. The inner construction and details are wonderful. Excellent condition
Unlined with all interior seams hand finished. It closes with hand set, hidden buttons at the front. Hand edged silk button backs in place. French cuffs, however they do not have the buttons. The buttons were often ordered separately for these. Entirely hand and finished to Haute Couture standards. I see perhaps the smallest change in colour here and there to the silk but its extremely subtle. The color in person is a touch brighter and lighter then how it photoed.

I love this fuller skirt by Yves Saint Laurent with its fifties feel and gorgeous floral print. It is made of a crisp cotton that has been printed with one of Yves signature prints. The waist cinches in and below that the skirt has a fabulous fullness to it. Part of that fullness is because of the soft gathers that circles the skirt just under the more fitted band below the waistline. The fabric choice also helps it to retain that fullness. The black base with its pretty print make it very versatile and you will be able to dress it up or wear it casually. Excellent condition
Unlined with a side zipper and button at the waist. A pocket sits along the seam beside the zipper.

A pretty and classic silk blouse by Karl Lagerfeld in the prettiest blue color will add an easy pop of color to any outfit. The front can be left unbuttoned for extra flash of sexy or done all the way up for a more classic feel. It is a gorgeous light weight - think scarf silk. Lots of great Karl touches - the loose and easy cut, flat pleats worked into the fabric down the front and those great little triangle flaps with a button that suggest pockets even though they are only decorative. Four buttons on each cuff and each is MOP and embossed with 'KL'. Excellent condition
The top is unlined and closes with buttons down the front and at each cuff. Some chipping to the buttons but they are all functional and present well. Tagged a 38 but the loose cut will accommodate a range of sizes. Slightly lighter/more pastel in person

Zandra is renowned for her use of design and pattern and this piece really allows her absolute genius for cut to shine through on its own. The lines of this jacket are truly wonderful. Tight knife pleats are sculpted to form that incredible back and extravagant shoulders. It is completely hand painted in a dramatic design that highlights the cut of the jacket. The fabric has an almost stiffened feel to it that allows the pleats to stay into place and create the sculptural feel of the jacket. I love the rounded, unusual sleeve and those four huge circular designs that sit on the shoulders. The edges of those curving swirls and tops of each arm are detailed with her signature beading. It is an incredible testament to her work and aesthetic. Excellent condition
Unlined and hooks to close at the front. The item is not tagged but is clearly Zandra Rhodes and I guarantee that it is. The cut and pleats will allow for a variety of sizes to wear the jacket

This is a fantastic 100% Scottish cashmere Chanel cardigan in a deep burgundy. The cut makes it a beautiful classic and I love the beautiful rich color. It is the kind of piece that will never go out of style. It is made of the finest cashmere in the world and feel amazing and luxurious when worn. I love the gold toned embossed buttons that decorate it at the waist and add to the sense of opulence the piece has. Has an attached wide tie at the neck. The result is pure high end luxury. Chanel cashmere now cost triple this price if not much, much more. Excellent condition.
Unlined and slips over the head to wear. Accented at the front with the gold tone metal buttons as shown. 100% Scottish cashmere. Has an extra button sewn inside a side seam.

This is one of the most unusual scarves or shawls that I have ever seen from Yves Saint Laurent and certainly the largest one I have ever seen. It is from the 1986 collection and depicts the leopards that he used extensively throughout that collection - pieces of which are among the most collectible still to this day. It is literally just under 8 feet in length by 4 and a half feet across. Large enough that it can be used as a piece in your home or even as a wall hanging. If you do choose to use it as a scarf or shawl it is surprisingly accommodating because the silk is so fine and of such high quality. The print is custom to fit he scarf exactly and it is mind boggling to think how long it must have taken roll and finish all that edging by hand. Excellent condition

This is from a small collection of flapper cloche hats from the 1920s that have been stored and cared for so well that they appear fresh and new. It is amazing ot see items that are almost 100 years old look like they are fresh off the shelf. This one is made of silk in two tones of a soft peach and pastel coral. On the front is a wonderful cord applique of flowers with beaded details interspersed. Silk lined and internally labeled "Gearhart Hats". Excellent condition
I see no flaws. The lining was coming loose in several areas so I had it stitched back into place otherwise the hat is exactly as found.

Gorgeous and huge, this beautiful Dior scarf is a mix of white silk chiffon inset with panels of a white lace. It is very large but the lightness of the fabric makes it very versatile - you can wrap it and twist it as a scarf or use it as a light shawl. It is very light in weight and the size allows you to wear and style it a multitude of ways. This would be suitable for a wedding or any other summer event.

This is a classic cream silk secretary blouse by Yves Saint Laurent. It is also cut on the bias so moves and drapes perfectly once on the body. The tie at the neck is cut wide and is classic Yves and looks as good tied into a bow, a loose knot or left open. The shoulders are gathered with a slight, refined cap and I love the play on the tuxedo at the front. Each cuff buttons at the wrist so you get a bit of a pouf on the sleeve above. It is made of a gorgeous light weight, fine grade silk. A classic. Excellent overall condition with a small note below
The top is unlined and closes with a tie at the neck. Each sleeve buttons to close The ties are attached. Note that the color in person is a touch richer in feel with a drop more of a cream to it. Tagged a vintage 34. Note that there is a slight smudging mark that runs on a small area on the back and on the back of one sleeve. It would not properly photo. I have had it cleaned and this may come out with additional cleaning - priced less then similar ones sold in the past.

Truly a beautiful little find this silk organza scarf is a Dior from 1988 but has lost its label. You are getting a true steal price wise as I have had to price this to reflect this but you will instantly see the quality of it and I guarantee that is is Dior. It is made of a white silk organza and covered with little hand knotted clusters of silk fringe. This give the scarf tremendous movement and a pretty sense of lightness and airiness. It is perfect as a light shawl and would even be appropriate for a wedding or other summer event. Excellent collection and appears unworn.

Adolfo started his career under Balenciaga and like Halston, was a successful milliner before opening his own fashion house. He became know for his Chanel inspired suiting and some of them are on par and perhaps even more relevant in feel then their inspirational equivalents of the time. This little jacket for example is wonderful. It is made of a beautiful sky blue woven boucle that has a rich, luxurious feel to it. The design that runs through the fabric is created by the use of a white and silver thread that is woven through the blue base strands. It is surprisingly light and almost more of a light evening sweater weight then that of a true blazer type jacket. The edges of the jacket have a heavier finish of the silver and white and it closes down the front with elaborate and wonderful rhinestone buttons - set to give just a glimpse of skin in between. A matching glittering crystal button sits on each cuff. Excellent condition.
Unlined and closes at the front with the buttons as shown.

Gorgeous, chic silk top from the Miss V, Valentino line that proves that great design is eternal. Made of a deep navy silk that has tiny white dots covering the surface. I love the front pocket detail and the loose and generous box cit that makes it light and easy to wear. The collar is kept neat and small and cuffed sleeves allow for a pouf of volume. Really super vintage piece that appears to be unworn. Excellent, appears unworn condition.
Unlined buttons at the front and cuffs. Tagged a 40 but it has a generous cut so please check measurements.

Love this beautiful printed silk blouse by Chloe. It is really quite fabulous and very chic and easy to wear with its loose cut and pretty print. It feels very fresh and of the current season with a pretty floral suggestive print worked into the silk itself along with a secondary pattern that is woven through the actual silk so you get a terrific texture as the light hits it. I love how each cuff buttons at the wrist so you get a bit of a pouf over the wrist and that there is a wide fold over cuff under that for a touch of drama. The neckline buttons part way down so you can close it for a high neckline or open it to show a little more skin. Made of a gorgeous, fine grade silk and Chloe engraved MOP buttons. Excellent condition with minor wear to the buttons - see notes below.
The top is unlined and closes with buttons at the neck. Each cuff buttons to close. The little pocket at the breast still is tacked shut. Has an extra button sewn in an inner seam. Some of the buttons show chipping around the edges but all are serviceable. No size tag but cut generous through the body.

Love this weighty gold chain belt from the 1990s. It's the perfect piece when you want to add a bold statement. It wraps and hooks around the waist and has a dominant ID plate with Chanel engraved into it. At the end of the chain that hangs it also has a large gold medallion with the the Rue Cambon Logo. Stamped with the Chanel markings on the hook closure. Love that you can also wear it as a necklace. Excellent condition with normal patina to the gold.

The more fashionable line of Aquascutum coats began in the 1950s - prior to that the company had more of a utilitarian approach. This coat dates to the 60s and has that bold and dramatic mod feel to it so favored during that decade. It is made with a treated cotton canvas of mid-weight and is very well made. It has a bit of a Mac feel with a slight nod to a trench coat too. I love the hood - it adds an extra dash of boldness to the coat that really makes it stand out even more. The print is a fabulous graphic black and white that has an exotic feel. Big glossy buttons close it and there are pockets on each hip. A really great vintage find. Excellent condition.
Fully lined in a black silky rayon and closes with domes black buttons as shown. Maybe a smudge of darkening to the light parts at each cuff but very inconsequential and you really have to be looking there specifically to notice it. I am being very picky. Front pockets and attached hood.

This sixties coat by Tat Sandler is really unusual and quite fabulous. The Tat Saunders label was quite prestigious in its day - she started out as a boutique at the Ritz Carlton and ended up with four stores in total all of which specialized in customs creations and couture pieces that were brought in specifically for their wealthy clients. So when you find this label you know the pieces are of very good quality. In person this coat present as far more of a white piece with colorful "embroidery" feeling pattern woven through the fabric. The photos make the print seem more predominant - the best pic for how it feel in person is that of the label. The fabric feels like perhaps a cotton mix that has an almost canvas like feel to it but with a smooth texture to it, not the rough weave of a true canvas. It is just off-white with the wonderful little floral folk feeling print woven through its surface that cover the coat from top to bottom adding a pretty pop of color against the backdrop. It is cut to the knee and skims over the body in a A-line design. The collar is neat and small and I love the rounded gold buttons - they add the perfect touch of glamour. It is a very pretty and unusual little piece. Excellent condition

This coat is not perfect (but its just the buttons that makes that statement true) and it is such a ringer for the coats for Fall 2016 that Isabel Marant walked down the runway recently that I could not help but pull it from the archives and list it. The Marant show gave the 80s as a reference but this coat is earlier but with that same over-sized silhouette that was re-done for the 80s and again for 2016. The blue wool has been woven in a large tweed pattern and in person it has a lot more texture and depth to it that how it photoed. It is far better in person then shown here. Love the neat but still strong collar and notched pocket flaps. Its cut to skim over the body but stays slim through the shoulders. It would be perfect if not for the fact that two of the button centers are missing their little inner caps but I have left them as found since they are original and some girls like that little bit of imperfection.
Fully lined in a deep turquoise rayon silk satin and closes at the front with buttons as show. Two buttons are missing their inner 'caps' as noted and pictured. Front, functional pockets (priced accordingly). It's a good fall-winter weight. It will work on a XS frame if you want it to fit over-sized

This is a darling little piece and even though it is not perfect it is such a rare find that I think the girl who grabs it will treasure it. It is a wonderful example of printed cotton form the forties and would have been a little day dress topper for around the house. You can wear it now as a tunic or light jacket or even a mini. Pinwheels of color swirl across its surface and the colors are still bright and vibrant. It buttons down the front with what looks like very early plastic buttons. I love the charming little pockets on each hip. This is a piece that you can pair with virtually anything and it will always get compliments and comments as it is so unusual. Present as excellent condition but please go ever notes below.
Unlined and buttons to close. There is perhaps the smallest of softening to the color - this would have been worn and hand-washed in its day. But for a garment from the forties and the fabric being cotton I would say the color retention is excellent still. It does have foxing and slight discolorations here and there- these are marks from improper storage - they are minor and the patter so busy that you really see them only when it is laid out flat and in hood light. But they are there - the most noticeable is in photo 5 - the bodice close up. Priced accordingly

Pieces like this are what I love about vintage. It has no label and its origins will forever be unknown but it is just so unique and unusual that you can't help but love it. The base is an off-white woven fabric that has rows of a fuzzy tangerine orange yarn woven through it - under and over in regular intervals so that the exposed yarn bits from this amazing 3D dotted pattern. The texture this creates is amazing. At the waist is set orange satin bands that meet at the front in a large flat bow above a zipper closure. (though I think it could also be worn at the back - it seemed to sit perfectly either way I just prefer the front detailing myself). It flares out on an A-line to the floor and the fabric has enough weight and structure to help hold that great shape. Excellent condition
Fully lined In an interior skirt that is a layer of muslin with a layer of silk . Closes with the zipper as shown and the bow snaps into place.

This fabulous little blouse was produced by the Clobber label, a boutique in London that was run by Jeff Banks from 1964-1974. Banks is one of my personal favorites of the British designers of that time. The top is amazing and the cut and silhouette is a great representation of that hippie "street" fashion movement. It is made of a light cotton with a quilted and slightly padded front panel and back panel. Once on it feels light and easy but with enough structure that it maintains its shape. The top is cut with the sleeves set deep into the waist to give them tremendous voluminous above their buttoned cuffs. The shoulders are inset and gathered at the top and I love the gathers that sit on the sides of the waist before the bottom flares out to the hem. The mix of colored paisleys just adds to its charm. In excellent condition.

I have always kind of loved the photo of Joan Collins in the near twin of this fabulous Yves Saint Laurent jacket so I was thrilled to have this one land in the shop. With the only difference being the color way this is otherwise that same jacket. This was the height of the Dynasty days and Joan was a super star. The jacket was the perfect piece to showcase her rising stardom. Made of a combination of black velvet and silk satin it has those bold lines that we have come to love from the eighties. The shoulders are cut strong and broad and the waist nips in above the flared hip peplum. The nipped in waist is made even smaller through the visual V created bu the way the white is set down the front. I love the pink collar and sleeves and how the entire jacket has that unexpected flash of pink once it opens. Excellent condition.
Fully lined in pink silk satin and buttons down the front. One button on the cuff is slightly different from the rest so must have been changed/replaced at some point

In his role as Creative Director for the house of Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld always creates little black jackets that have the perfect lines and a certain innate chicness that is seldom matched by others. In this jacket he plays with proportion and crops it at the waist. The neckline is left simple and collarless and plunges deep at the front. All of the detailing is done at that waist with a wrapped front that buttons on the angle and a skinny patent belt that highlights the short crop. The jacket has that signature chain inside the hem to weight it and ensure that it always falls perfectly once on the body. Excellent, appears unworn condition
