This amazing brooch is a limited edition piece from the early 2000s. It is large and bold and beautifully made. The "hawk" head is formed from a blackened silver colored metal that has a good weight to it. This is embossed with enamel, stones and crystals. It wraps around a blue stone that sits inside the head but is not actually attached - you can't take it out but it can move freely within its "cage". An amazing plume of glossy black feathers finish.

In the 1980s in LA, Laise Adzer ruled the roost when it came to that layered look that was the way to dress at the time. Her pieces were all hand made and made of natural fabrics. Ads for her brand appeared in Vogue on a regular basis and she was known for her high quality. Here we have a fabulous poncho shawl made of a natural fibre cotton that is hand woven. Through the weave are pretty colored ribbons giving it a little pop of color. A fringed bottom finishes it. Its a great little piece that you can wear over very casual pieces or dress up for evening. Excellent condition.

Love this showstopping late seventies cut silk devore shawl with a beautiful silk fringe at the bottom that  gives it a fabulous bohemian feel. Silk velvet flowers are applied over a silk chiffon base and the entire surface has soft and subdued coloring. This great little jacket from Prada is a stellar example of how she is always pushing the envelope in terms of fabrications. At first glance the jacket looks like a heavy brocade but it is actually feather light. The lame is a silk combination and the 3D texture hides the fact that it is very fine and light on weight. This is a pretty flapper cloche or skull cap that is completely hand beaded. It is getting harder and harder to find really exceptional pieces from this time period so when you do you know it is special! It is a pretty combination of seed and tube beads with little "pearl" beads mixed in. The hand work is easy to see from the interior and the beads densely cover the surface. The metallic hued interior of the beads have oxidized overtime giving the cap this lovely antiqued silver feel. The inside is ribbon edged but unlined and this allows you to easily see all the extensive hand work. It just sort of clamps into place and cut with one part curving up away form the head. On each end a separate and more densely beaded piece is placed for extra glamor. Excellent condition

This is such a treat to have in the shop. My client purchased this directly from Anthonly's granddaughter and I can supply provenance if the buyer wishes it. It is an amazing one-of-a-kind piece made that was a runway sample that he made by hand. It is made of a gold pleated nylon backed with a corset bodice inside so you get support. It simple hooks into place at the back and once on leaves the back exposed. The front is a wild and sexy combination if swirling, ruffle edges fabric and hand placed and sewn pearls and large pink cabochon feeling beads. The little spiked dangling beads finish it off perfectly! Excellent condition

This is an incredibly rare and wondrous hat from the famed Milliner Benjamin B. Green-Field, who was known as "The mad Hatter" and was the genius behind the Bes-Ben label. The Bes-Ben hats are perhaps the most coveted amongst hat lovers and the crazier the hat the better. He was known for his fantastical and outrageous creations and used objects and materials never before used in hat making. Even at the time his hats cost from $37 to $1000, remarkable when you think that the average hat in the 40s cost around $2.

Here we have a rare, numbered hat that is made of flat, early plastic leaves that are hand painted with bits of gold seemingly dashed across the surface at random here and there. These are each hand placed and attached to a mesh base rimmed in a velvet covered wire to create and hold the shape. Little combs are hand attached to the sides to secure it into place. Each leaf has little silver beads hand sewn onto its surface - the represent drops of dew glistening in the sun. The front forms a stunning and large butterfly that sits jauntily just above the eye. It is profoundly quirky and fabulous but at the same time profoundly modern and wearable. A real rarity. Excellent overall condition

One of the most coveted of all Demeulemeester pieces is this dramatic and bold runway bib made of a cascade of black rhinestones. Style.com said of this collection and of these bibs in particular:

The power of an Ann Demeulemeester show is that even if you aren't a card-carrying member of her club, there's something in it for you.....What surprised most about this beautiful collection were the short cotton jersey T-shirt dresses, draped and gathered in a way that evoked both the twenties and tunics. Her liberal use of crystals also felt new. She embroidered them in medallions on vests and softly wrapped dresses or, hitting upon one of the season's recurring themes, strung them like long fringe from the choker collars of high-necked tops. Of course, that was less a case of Demeuelemeester chasing trends than it was a happy coincidence. Happy is the way her audience felt as they left the show.  

This piece was a definitive look from the runway presentation and was seen on the final three looks of the show - looks 37, 38 and 39, pictured here (it was also shown in white on look 35, not shown). Very rare and very chic. Excellent consdition

This adorable belt is a real showstopper. It is completely covered with plastic cabochon beads in turquoise and coral. Surrounding these are beads in purples and golds as well as those same two colors. At the front a dramatic fringe of bead work dangles and moves. It is like wearing a fabulous piece of jewellery around your waist.

Hooks to close. I see no missing beads. The backing is separating from the front very slightly here and there at the edges but both the back and front are in excellent condition otherwise and it does not affect it at all when on.

Light as a feather, this silk chiffon Halston tank will add an instant shot of glamour to any outfit. It is entirely covered in glossy red sequins that were all hand applied. This gives it the feel of liquid fire once on as the sequins catch the light. This piece is unlabeled as the label would flip and show when worn so the owner removed it back in the day when having a label in the piece was not considered important. That said I personally knew the original owner who purchased the top when it was originally made and I have had the twin of this piece in the shop before so there is no question about its authenticity. I am also pleased to share a photo of Bianca Jagger who was photoed in a differently cut halter and skirt from this same collection that has the same sequin technique. It has a flap that closes over the bag and an attached heavy gold toned push button clasp closure. Buckle detailing on the strap allows you to change the length lightly. Inside it is a soft suede with a fabric lined zipped side pocket. The gold hardware and edges of the leather shows some patina and light wear/ rubbing off here and there and light scratches. An amazing convertible Gucci messenger bag that will become a mainstay, especially for traveling since it is both a day and evening bag in one. Made from a combination of butter soft suede and leather done to create this fantastic and very wearable piece. I love the modified bucket bag feel and the clever way that the clutch slips onto the center strap. When it is on and in place it looks like a permanent part of the bag but when off both the bag and the clutch also appear to be finished properly - it is like a little hidden surprise. It has that worked in patina that collectors desire and the combination of leathers and the cleverness of the design are fantastic! Excellent vintage condition

Both bags are finished in a butter soft leather. The clutch closes with a hidden snap closure and the bag has one as well. The larger bag has a Gucci logo zipper pull and interior zip pocket. I love the long tunic cut and draw string through the waist line that allows you to wear it loose and easy or cinched for a more bloused effect. The Western world in the twenties and thirties had a great fascination with all things art deco and oriental and places like Japan began to export pieces made specifically for the tourist market. These pieces combined classic design elements of the Japanese culture with a slight western twist to the cut and colors. The embroidered jackets where amongst the most prized and this one is a stunning example. Made of a fine cream silk, it is completely covered in fine embroidery work in that is even more amazing once you realize that it is actually a metallic thread that was used. Solidly embroidered with fine hand done red stitches holding the curving metal thread in place, the pattern and design is exquisite. Truly a treasure. Excellent condition and appears unworn.

Alice Pollock was the girl behind the Quorum label and partnered with, and it could be said discovered, Ossie Clark and Celia Birwell. They designed the clothing filled the shop from 1965 - 1973. This top was surely designed by or heavily influence by Ossie and Celia. It is made from moss crepe - a favored fabric of Ossie's - in a heavy cream color. This is edged in purple thread embroidery that pops off the backdrop and highlights the design and cut. It has a small neat collar and wraps half way over itself with an almost Eastern feel to the cut. I love how it ties at the side and that the sleeves are cut wide and straight with a slightly angled cut to the ends. Presents as excellent condition

Unlined and wraps to close, tying at the side. There are two areas of thinning at the upper back shoulder - please super-size the photo to see - and a small area that looks like a faint water stain on the back - it would not photo. Priced accordingly but also with its rareness in mind.

This rare, limited edition 1991 Chanel bag was featured in the Ad campaign this year featuring supermodel Christy Turlington (pictured).  The body of the bag is made of a coated, finely woven raffia that is then quilted into the classic Chanel diamond pattern. It is edged in a back cotton grosgrain. The Chanel double C is woven on the bottom of the bag! Love that you can wear the chain strap long and over the shoulder or double for a more tote feel. Inside it is lined in a butter soft leather with with a slip pocket on one side and a zipped one on the other.  So unusual and so very Chanel!

Guaranteed authentic. Hologram/serial number sticker intact inside. Dust Bag included. In excellent condition with one break to the cording running though the chain as pictured - this could probably be repaired quite easily through Chanel. The dress form it is photoed on is life size so illustrates how it sits on a real girl well. Also just as an aside - the ad shown is attributed as being from the 1980s all over the internet, however Christy did not become the face of Chanel until 1991 (though she did appear in the Fall Haute Couture 1990 ads for the first time) and I did find a source confirming this date for this ad.

Love this beautiful black silk crepe blouse that is cut on the bias by Yves Saint Laurent. It is really quite fabulous and with the black coloring it will be one of those basics you keep wearing over and over. Really fabulous. The tie at the neck is a classic Yves Saint Laurent touch. Each cuff buttons at the wrist so you get a bit of a pouf on the sleeve above. It is made of a gorgeous light weight, fine grade silk crepe. It is remarkable to find a top in this color that looks so pristine but it literally looks to have never been worn. A classic. Excellent condition.

Beautiful Chanel pocket square scarf in a feminine and bright barbie pink color and made of a crisp, fine cotton. I believe that this was only given as a show favor to a limited amount of guests and was not otherwise produced making it both rare and very special. The collection itself was inspired by the ballet and in particular the Accademia del Teatro Alla Scala. This is translated over the surface of the silk with dancers screened across its surface. The show date and Dolce and Gabbana name is written across one corner

The first the god of Lehreh inhabited the skies of western Sudan, from where he sent down in timely fashion those life-giving rainstorms which gain such respect. This is a wonderful statement piece from the house of Gucci. It is a simple and elegant necklace that has a large gold tone pendant which apparently is gold plating. The bottle shaped pendant hangs from a gold tone chain. The actual pendant has a stopper at the top that opens to reveal a perfume dabber. A beautiful and iconic pendant that you can wear on its own or layer with others, and a must have piece for any Gucci fan.

Chain is 14.5" long, perfume bottle is 2" high x 1" wide. Very slight surface scratches and minor denting to cap consistent with age and wear. Appears to have been worn very little.

Love this beautiful printed silk blouse by Yves Saint Laurent. It is really quite fabulous and very chic and easy to wear with its loose cut and pretty print. It is classic Yves with a pretty floral print worked into the silk itself, I love how each cuff buttons at the wrist so you get a bit of a pouf over the wrist. The neckline buttons part way down so you can close it for a high neckline or open it to show a little more skin. Made of a gorgeous, fine grade silk and the label is hand written - usually denoting an early or custom ordered piece. Excellent condition.

Early Gucci pieces are hard to find and this particular top is a real treasure. Made of light, very fine silk in a black with a secondary weave running through the fabric that gives it a subtle texture when the light bounces off of it. Through the torso, it is a slim cut button down with a fabulous pointed collar. Each button down the front and on the cuff has a gold G affixed to it. It is the back that is the real show stopper on this one though - a fabulous pheasant and hawk print is screened boldly across it with the Gucci signature proclaiming its designer heritage. It is beautiful and dramatic. Excellent condition.

You often see the versions of this that were reissued by the brand or the diffusion version that were produced by Wahlborg but this little beauty is the real thing. This is the original and in the rarest and most desirable of all the colors you see it in (normally it is silver or gold or black) - the mod, space age white! There are no missing or damaged disks and all the links are present. The chain is silver and you can carry it like a clutch, on the shoulder or as a full length over the shoulder.
