• The top stitching at the front runs in vertical rows and the jacket is darted to give it shaped through the waist and hips.
• The sleeves and back of the jacket are a single layer of the mohair mixed with a bit of wool for structure.
• The edges of the jacket and edges of the sleeves are finished with a silk edging.
• The buttons are these elaborate crochet and silk domed affairs and they are quite striking and unique.

• Valentino launched his ready-to-wear label in 1962 just two years after opening his first salon in Rome. He often brought in the designs that he created for his main couture label into the boutique work. In these early days pieces were remarkably close in quality and the line between the two labels was often blurred. 
• Made under the creative direction of the original Mr. Valentino
• The top is made out of a bright pink silk that has a ribbon effect worked into the fabric for added texture.
• The cut is boxy and generous through the body for an easy fit. The sleeves are also cut generously and end with a buttoned cuff.
• The neck is ruffled with black velvet piping looped through the ruffles. They tie stacked on top of each other for a really pretty and dramatic effect.
• The top is unlined and closes at the front with a series of hidden set buttons. There is the shell of padding in each shoulder but it feels like the actual padding has been removed.
• There is no size tag present so please go by the measurements below. The top is meant to feel more loose and generous.

• This is a rare pale pink stretch top from the 1990s. It is incredibly difficult to find pieces from this era in this condition.

• The top is made of a pale pink stretch silk that has a bit of give so the fit is amazing.
• The top feels like something that you would have seen a supermodel wear on a runway.
• It has a neat collar and buttons down the front. The buttons are pink with a gold double C logo.
• It has little top set pockets on either side of the front and the sleeves have wide cuffs that button with two more Chanel buttons.
• The cut is easy and boxy through the body.

• The twin of the dress was shown for Look 7 for the Resort 2019 collection
• Made under the creative direction of Wes Gordon
• Wes had been at Herrera for a year at this point but this was his first solo collection for the label.
• This dress was one of the outstanding pieces from the collection and in the Vogue review this look was mentioned specifically saying "On the more freewheeling side of the new developments was a rainbow-striped mink cape that he paired with a rainbow-striped chiffon gown, horizontal in the first case, vertical in the latter. Gordon observed that the look was just this side of camp; what that says is that he’s not afraid of risks."
• Made of a silk chiffon done in a rainbow colours set vertically over the body
• It has a one shoulder silhouette with a silk knot at the top of the shoulder for detail. The silk drapes down and over the bust from there.
• A braided band details the waist and the band is made out of the same silk as the rest of the dress.
• It skims over the hips and flares out towards the floor. The back is cut longer than the front so you get this beautiful sweeping feel behind you. The silk is light and catches the air to move beautifully around you when you move.

• This is a rare dress by the designer LaVetta who at the time was noted for being "the only black person designing and marketing her own line" according to a 1979 Ebony article. They also noted that her dresses were over $10,000 in 1979 which was a remarkable number for any designer at that time period.
• Legend has it that it was the scarf dress that relaunched her business after the heyday of the sixties and  Hollywood glamour had ended. Her initial business had died out by 1970. One day a friend showed up in a thrifted dress made out of scarves that she had found in Europe. LaVetta made her own version, a buyer from Neiman Marcus snapped it up, she begged and borrowed money to meet the order and she was back in business. 
• The sleeves are cut wide and full in a way that gives a nod to the kimono sleeve. They are cut to be at the extra full width all the way to their ends.
• Both the back and the front plunge to the seam that sits just under the bust.
  
• The skirt has a full 360 degree sweep. This gives it incredible volume and movement once on.
  
• The scarf printed silk that is used for the dress is very light in weight and the entire dress has the most amazing drape and movement as a result.
• Each of these dresses were unique with no two having the same mix of patterns and colours.
• The bodice is unlined and the skirt has a black inner stretch nylon lining.

• Excellent condition with a couple of tiny pinholes at the base of the blue silk at the front plunge. Extremely minor.

• Arnold Scassi launched  his boutique line in 1984 and it was high end ready-to-wear and very expensive.
  
• The dress has an inner Bergdorf Goodman tag that is dated to 1986.
• The dress is made out of a printed floral silk organza that has a secondary pattern woven through the silk. This gives it a very pretty effect when combined with the bright floral print.
• It is strapless and the silk has been gathered over to one side of the bodice to highlight your curves. The bodice extends past and below the hip.
• The skirt is very full so you get a pretty movement around you when you walk.
• Layers of green silk sit inside the skirt and both the exterior floral layer and the inner lining have stiffened bands built in around the hem to help hold the shape. Between those is a third layer whose bottom is finished with layers of tulle.
• Lightly boned through the bodice and closes with a hidden set side zipper. Hand finishes

• This jacket is from the Spring 2006 collection and it is a beautiful classic and timeless Chanel jacket. 
  
• Make it under the creative direction of Karl Lagerfeld
  
• The collection was called "Coco meats, James Dean" and the idea was that Lagerfeld organized this imaginary meeting between the two. In real life they had never met but in his eyes he saw them as being rebellious figures and wanted to explore the meeting of the two stylistically.
• The jacket has a gorgeous woven feeling to it tweed exterior and is a mix of silk and cotton.
• The shoulders have very light padding but are soft and shaped to the body and the sleeves are slightly cropped. Each sleeve has a fringe finish to it.
• The collar is scooped with the same fringe finishing and then the jacket closes down the front with hand made buttons to look like wax seals. A double C has been stamped into each button.
• Two tiny top set pockets sit on each side and these also have a fringe finish.
• The jacket has elaborate vertical seaming that pieces all of the panels together to give shape to the jacket.
• Triangle inserts have been done all the way around the hem so that it flares out with this fabulous little peplum. The bottom hem of the jacket is finished in fringe.
• Inside it is lined with a meticulous black silk that follows the pattern of the jacket. There is a signature silver chain that runs around the inner hem.

• The jacket is made from a soft leather that is heavy enough to hold its distinct shape.
• It has a small neat collar with padding and top stitching to create the distinctive motorcycle jacket features that you see.
• It closes to the side with an angled large silver zipper and then snaps to close at the collar above that.
• Zippered pockets are set on each side and there are four in total.
• Big silver buckles wrapped around the sides of the waist allowing you to cinch it in or open it more.

• This was one of the most celebrated pieces from the Fall 2015 Chanel show and it's twin walk the runway for Look 89 in the show.
• Made under the creative direction of Karl Lagerfeld
• Its twin has been museum exhibited and it was seen on celebrities and in editorials that season.
• The collection was known as the French Collection and Karl Lagerfeld said that it was "quintessentially French". It was presented in the Brasserie Gabrielle, a fully functioning, specially built French Café for the show.
• In the show this was shown in a look that was a nod to the uniform of a classic French waiter.
• The jacket is made out of a beautiful black tweed that has a gorgeous texture to it. The shoulders are lightly padded but still with a soft shape and are meant to follow the body rather than being a sharp silhouette. The sleeves are long and each ends with a turned up cuff that is top stitched in a white thread.
• That same white top stitching detail follows the collarless neckline and runs all the way down each side of the front. Four top set , functional pockets sit on either side of the front. The jacket closes with three beautiful clear and black enamel Chanel Camillia flower buttons. A smaller version of the same button sits at each cuff.
• Inside it is lined with a Camellia embossed silk lining and has one of the signature Chanel chains running along the inner hem. Beautifully made.

• Its twin walked the runway for Look 43 for the Cruise 2011 Dior show. 
  
• Made under the creative direction of John Galliano
• The show was shown in Shanghai that season and Galliano chose not to do very specific references to Shanghai. He said at the time that he was more trying to "capture the feeling of Paris in its heyday" which was what he said he felt happening in Shanghai at that time.
• This was an outstanding look in the show and was one in a series of the closing looks.
• The dress is made of a deep muted pink silk chiffon and has nod to the 1960s in its design.
• A layer of silk chiffon that is heavily detailed with hand, beading, sequins and prong set pink rhinestones floats over a inner more fitted silk interior. The neckline is scooped wide across and then the back dips into a shallow V.
• The sleeves are a single layer of the chiffon and flare out at their ends. They are detailed all the way down to match the bodice.
• The interior dress closes with a hidden side set zipper and then the silk top layer that floats over it snaps along the edge of the waist at the back. A little strap floats across to connect the two sides and there is a highly detailed bow that sits off side at the back topping a gathering f the silk in the skirt.
• Another highly detailed bow sits at the centre of the front waist and I love how these two bows give the dress such a feminine and romantic touch.
• The dress falls from there to the floor with a top layer of chiffon floating over an inner silk skirt. It widen out just a touch at the hem.
• The inner silk portion of the dress has its own lining of a matching silk.
• The pink is a slightly different shade in person than how it photoed

• The twin of the dress walked the runway for the Spring 1997 Chanel show and was worn in that show by supermodel Naomi Campbell.
• Made under the creative direction of Karl Lagerfeld.
• The models in the show walked down a conveyor belt and the finale was an explosion of sequin dresses in a full range of pastel shades.
• This dress and the other dresses in the finale were all covered in clear sequins and silver metal thread embroidery. Karl told Women's Wear Daily "It's like ice crushed velvet. There are more than 40 different dresses like this in these very fresh very pale colours. It's Summer ice in glacier velvet"
• This is an exceptionally rare and important dress from the collection.
• The velvet that the dress is made out of is has an almost slight neon metallic feel to it but in a subtle way. And instead of being soft, the pile that makes up the velvet is all standing directly straight out from the fabric which gives it a very unusual, almost bouncy, feel
• Clear iridescent sequins that are held in place with metallic silver thread run around the neck, are scattered over the bodice, heavily detail all around the waist and then run down the sides of the dress and are applied densely all the way around the hem.
• The dress has a high neck and the holes for the arms at the side are scooped slightly lower then usual. The waist is defined but more generous and then the dress curves over the hips to flare out slightly at the hem. A slit runs up one side of the hem
  
• The dress is a more pastel bubblegum pink in person then how it photoed.
• Hand finishes throughout and all of the sequin work appears to be applied by hand.
• It closes at the back with a hidden set zipper and three Chanel logo embossed buttons at the back of the neck

• A more recent piece made for the shops that I believe is from the earlier Maria years
• A very easy-to-wear dress that has a beautiful flow to it that that catches the air easily to billow around you as you move.
• The dress is made from a silk chiffon and is unlined so the entire dress has a touch of transparency. The dot like print is created by little pieces of pink and black fabric fused onto the silk.
• The elastic cuffs of the sleeves have a pin-tuck gathering that gives them a pretty diamond feeling design. The neck has that same detailing but without the elastic.
• The bodice is cut loose and easy and the sleeves are full.
• The waist is more structured but still cut on the more generous side. I have added a black silk ribbon that is not original to the dress but that will be sent with it. By changing what you put around the waist you can give the dress a different feel.
• The skirt flows to the floor from there and is very full and open with many yards of silk chiffon. It has an amazing movement when you move.

• A very pretty little dress by the Chloe label
• The Fall 2006 collection was designed by the in-house team
• The dress is strapless and gathered across the bodice. The waist nips in under that and then the chiffon of the skirt flares out and is brought back in under the skirt.
• Underneath the edge of the skirt there is a pretty little scalloped ruffle set in three layers so you just see a touch of it peeking out from the edge of the hem.
• Some of the chiffon has been gathered along one side of the waist and then a wide, deeper ivory, panel of fabric wraps around the waist and is brought into a half bow on one side with the ends trailing down.
• An exposed zipper closes it at the back
• The dress is fully lined in an ivory silk

• The opening looks of the show were all lingerie inspired, including the twin of this dress that walked the runway for Look 4
• The dress is deeply plunged with black lace that covers the breasts. At the back, the lace straps turned into lingerie style adjustable straps.
• It skims past the waist and hips and flares out all around the bottom hem.
• The entire hem is detailed with more of the black lace whose pattern is set up and into the body of the dress
• The fabric that makes up the body of the dress is a silk feeling finish matte satin that has some weight to it. This lets it skim over the body and hold the intended shape.
• The dress is unlined and closes with a back hidden set zipper. The straps at the back are adjustable. The size tag has been removed so please check the measurements below.

• This exceptional dress is by Marc Bohan for Christian Dior and it is a wonderful example of his work during this time period.
• This best matches the work that he was doing from about 1969 to 1972 when he was doing these wonderful dresses. We found a similar one to this with variations on the print that this dress has and I have included it so that you can see how perfectly this will drape and fall on the body.
• It is a very easy and comfortable dress to wear
• The dress is made from a cotton that has a pretty floral print that covers the entire dress.
• The neckline is set high and detailed with a black cotton collar that extends down the front and buttons to about the waist area.
• Under that the bodice is meant to skim over you to fall loose and easy over the natural waist and then the skirt billows out from under that to the floor.
• The sleeves are set into the shoulder with slight gathers and they have a more full cut that balloons out over the wrists. At their ends they are edged with that same black fabric that sits around the collar and this extends out and tie into pretty bows around the wrist. 
• The dress comes with its matching tie belt in the same fabric so you can wear it loose and easy or cinch in the waist for shape.
• Once on the body the entire dress has this stunning movement and yet feels minimalist and elegant.
  
• Unlined and slips over the head to wear. The front buttons up to about the waist and each sleeve ties with attached ties. The belt is original to the dress.
• Tagged a vintage Dior 12 and the easy cut should allow it to fit a range of sizes.

• The twin of this dress walked the runway for the Spring 1998 Versace show
• Made under the creative direction of Gianni Versace
• This is a rare in early documented example of his work
• The dresses made of two layers of silk. There is an inner silk layer that is a bright vivid pink and then this is topped with a black silk chiffon that has a touch of transparency. 
  
• Onto the top black layer is an elaborate pattern made of silver metallic thread and little tiny silver sequins. This adds a subtle sparkle over the entire dress.
• Two triangles sit at the front bust and they are brought inwards at the neck leaving an open keyhole underneath. The straps circle around both sides of your neck and then meet at the back. They then curve outwards to meet the sides of a low open scoop that leaves most of your back bare and exposed. 
  
• It skims over the waist and hips from there and I love the lingerie effect created by having the black float over the inner pink layer.
  
• The inner pink silk layer acts as the lining. The neck slips over the head and then the dress closes with a hidden set side zipper. When the dress is off the body the pink under-layer appears to extends past the bottom by a couple of inches but it is bias cit so once on it lines up as shown in the photos here

• The Valentina Ltd label was a high end knit wear company that flourished through the 1950s to the 1970s and were known for the elaborate bead and sequin work on soft knits and knit jerseys. They had the bead and sequin work done in Hong Kong where the best sequin and bead work in the world outside of the specialty ateliers in Paris was being done.
• The base fabric is a black felted wool and this gives it a soft artisanal feel.
• This was printed in a design using a bright rainbow of colours that run down the dress. This gives the fabric a touch of added texture and it is also soft to the touch.
• The print covers every inch of the dress including the 'ribbons' at the bottom hem. To construct this so that the pattern perfectly lines up like this means that the pattern would have had to be all pre-thought out and laid out onto the fabric before cutting.
• The bead and sequin work is all done by hand and it is added to the fabric to follow and highlight the design underneath.
• I especially love the elaborate work around the waist band where large turquoise coloured discs and rhinestones create a stunning jewelled effect all the way around the waist.
• The neckline is scooped and the sleeves are long. The skirt falls from below the elaborate sequin belt detail and gently widens out a touch as it nears the floor.
• It is truly a very special dress. You just don't see this level of elaborate work on pieces anymore.
• Fully lined in a black silk and closes with a back zipper. Each cuff closes with two hidden set snaps.

• The near twin of this piece walk the runway for Spring 2007 for Look 57
• Made under the creative direction of the original Mr. Valentino
• This is also the actual dress that was worn by Julia Schlaepfer to the recent Amfar gala
• Back in 2007 both Natalia Vodianova and Nicollette Sheridan wore versions of the dress
• It is incredibly beautiful and it would make an amazing wedding dress for the bride looking for a non-traditional choice or as an alternative dress in a more extended wedding celebration. And of course it could also be worn to any event.
• The dress is very light in weight and it is made from a pale pink silk chiffon that is draped beautifully over the dress
• The dress is strapless and the silk is gathered horizontally over and around the bodice. The gathe\rs extends down past the waist and to the top of the hip for a defined hourglass feel. A pretty raw edged panel of silk is attached and wraps around the waist and is tied in a bow at the side.
• The skirt is full and has beautiful movement. Long strips of the same fabric have been set all the way around the skirt to create long vertical ruffles. This creates an amazing movement when you walk.
• The dress is light in weight and absolutely beautifully made.
• Fully lined in a pale pink silk and has an inner corset that zips on its own. Light inner boning. A hidden set side zipper closes the dress over this inner corset
• Perhaps the tiny bit of grubbiness on the edge of the inner bodice but extremely minor. A couple of tiny faint dots in a couple of places. Very minor. One teeny repair near the hem that you would never see. Otherwise excellent condition.

• The near twin of the set walked the runway for the Spring 2008 show for Look 33
• Made under the creative direction of John Galliano
• The Spring 2008 show coincided with John Galliano's tenth year with the label and it was Dior's 60th year as a label. John celebrated that by creating pieces based on some of his signature looks through the past decade. 
• It is a set that could perhaps be worn by a bride who is looking for a non-traditional dress or as part of her wedding weekend. It is also an exceptional set for any event and for the Dior collector. 
• Both pieces are a pale pink. The jacket is made out of a crepe with a slight texture and the skirt is done in one of his signature bias cuts with a silk like finish.
• The jacket has soft rounded shoulders. It is brought in at the waist and then the hips curve back out for an hourglass feel. I love the detail with the rhinestones and beads that sit at the front of each shoulder and bring the sides out and back. This is a string nod to pieces from the 1940s. On the back of either hip there is a similar detailing that creates a little bit of a swag and detail at the back of the jacket.
• The skirt is completely cut on the bias and the bottom has inset panels to give it a pretty fluted feel. It has beautiful movement as you move.
  
• Both pieces are fully lined in a pink silk. The jacket buttons to close at the front with fabric covered buttons. The skirt closes with a hidden set side zipper set beside the row of buttons down the side. Light padding in each shoulder
• Both pieces are tagged a FR38, GB10, IT42, US6.
• I see a couple of very faint tiny marks on the skirt otherwise excellent condition

• Late 60s maybe the first couple years of the 1970s and it seems similar to some of the pieces I've seen from the 1970 season. 
• Under the creative direction of Oscar de la Renta 
  
• The dress is made from a beautiful black silk taffeta that holds the shape and volume that this dress has perfectly.
• The fabric choice also keeps the dress fairly light in weight while giving the dress some structure and shape.
• Two shaped triangles cover the front of the bodice and there is a deep V for the neckline. The triangles extend all the way to the top of the neck and they are finished with a ruffle in the same fabric.
• Ties extend from just behind the peak of each triangle to tie behind the neck.
• It wraps around the waist and scoops low there. This leaves your entire back open and bare above that.
• The waist nips in and we have added a wide grosgrain ribbon to add a little more shape.
• The skirt is made out of the same silk taffeta and it is incredibly full by the time it reaches the hem. Tiers of silk allow this expansion and there are five tiers in total. Each tier is finished with that same ruffled detail that you see around the halter neck
• Inside there is a silk lining and then another netted lining sits between the outer skirt and that inner layer. This helps to hold the volume that you see.
• Fully lined in a layer of silk taffeta and the skirt is lined as described above.
• The dress closes with a low set zipper at the back. Hand finished throughout
• The ribbon at the waist is not original to the dress but will be sent with it

• The twin of this dress walked the runway for Look 86 that season and was shown on the runway with a black lace top underneath and adorned with added brooches down the front for the Paris-Salzburg Metiers d'Art show.

• The Metiers d'Art presentations are always a celebration of the amazing craftsmanship and talent of the Chanel Artisans.
• Vogue stated that "The lace and ribbons and elaborate sleeve details of Winterhalter's portraits of Sissi (Empress Elisabeth of Austria), became part of the Chanel vocabulary in this collection." 
• Black silk straps curve over each shoulder and run around the top edge of the bodice. Three more circle around the bodice for added detail and four bows run prettily down the front.
• Three more rows of the same silk ribbon circle the bottom hem to tie everything together perfectly
• Softly pleated silk chiffon sits between each of the rows on the top of the dress.
• The waist nips in and the skirt is set in soft vertical pleats so that it opens up and has pretty volume by the time it reaches the hem
• The fabric used in the skirt is ultra fine and is almost like a silk gauze. It's has a touch of transparency, and the dress comes with its original silk organza under skirt that's you wear underneath the dress
• The entire hem is edged in another wide panel of the same lace used for the shoulders
• A little silver metal and bead encrusted Chanel logo sits on one hip
• Fully lined through the bodice in a black silk. The skirt is unlined and you wear the matching double layer silk organza underskirt underneath.
• It closes with a back, hidden set zipper and the underskirt closes with its own zipper and hook & eye at the waist

• The twin of the dress walked the Spring 2009 runway for Look 62 
• Under the creative direction of Karl Lagerfeld
• This is the actual dress that was worn by Catriona Balfe for the Season 5 premiere of Outlander in 2020. 
• In the book "Chanel Catwalk" the notes on this collection tell us that for this show they rebuilt the facade of 31 rue de Cambron inside of the Grand Palais. The collection played homage to classic Chanel style. The palette of the show was mainly black, white, pink and grey. Many of the pieces had a touch of a lingerie inspiration in them, including this gorgeous dress. It was one of the outstanding pieces in the show and it is even more beautiful in person. My photos don't come close to doing it justice. 
• The upper bodice and shoulders of the dress are made of a fine silk netting that has a touch of transparency to it. It breaks at the back to leave a bare expanse of skin down the centre. 
• A muted silk satin, with a more matte finish, is used to create a tiny little bodice piece that wraps around you.  A little bow sits at the centre front for a pretty and feminine touch.
• The skirt falls from that empire cut and flows outward to the floor, expanding by quite a bit as it nears the hem.
• It is made of four layers, a top black silk net layer, a more ivory layer under that, and then two inner black silk organza layers that sit next to the skin.
• Fully lined in silk behind the bust area and the inner two layers of the skirt are a black silk organza.
• The bodice buttons to close  with two pewter coloured silver metal buttons at the back and the dress zips to close under that.
• Tagged a Chanel 38.
• I see a couple of very tiny and little minor pulls and breaks in the skirt near the hem that don't affect it at all but are mentioned for accuracy and a repair near the edge of the arm opening. Overall excellent condition

'I want to create a community for Valentino. I mean something different from ‘lifestyle,’ which is about owning objects. It’s about people who share values.'"
• It was photoed for editorials and worn on carpets that year
• Made from a beautiful orange wool that is extremely soft to the touch. Dyed feathers to match the colour have been added over the entire coat for an beautiful tactile feel. This also adds incredible movement once on.
• It has an open cocoon type shape that should fit a variety of sizes. It is meant to feel slightly oversized.
• There is a panel of fabric along the inner back hem that has the words "wrap me, free me, see me" done in black beads

• This appears to be the actual Haute Couture sample coat that walked the runway for the Fall 1985 Jean Patou collection for Look 12

• This is an extremely rare and important piece of fashion history. Very few pieces of his work at Patou come up for sale and this is more then likely the only piece to exist.
• Made in the Paris atelier
• Made of a soft orange wool shaped in an enveloping cocoon shape highly reminiscent of a 1920s flapper coat.
• It is all cut on the bias so once it is on the body it wraps around you beautifully. It is extraordinary. 
  
• The sleeves are quite extremely wide and they have a long wide cuff that flips up and over the sleeve. The cuff is completely covered in hand dyed feathers.
• More of the same hand dyed feathers are used to create a huge shawl collar that drapes down and over the shoulders. It continues to run all the way to the hem and circles around to the back hem.
• The coat narrows in as it reaches its bottom. This is a classic cut for this style of cocoon coat
• It feels wonderfully decadent and opulent, both key design elements in Lacroix's work. It is literally like wearing a work of art.
• Partially lined in a silk through the upper body of the coat and through the sleeves. The rest is unlined.
• Has its hand written Haute Couture sample label in place and attached metal couture tag
• Excellent condition

It is very full and open and has no closures so should fit almost any size. It is approximately 52 inches from neck to hem but that will come up a bit once it is on the body.

• The runway version did not have the gray underneath the chain metal so it was worn more as a tunic. When they added the grey silk band for the shops it allowed it to be worn as a mini dress
• Made from a pale pink crepe with a soft grey design printed over it that incorporates the word Prada on both the front and back
• The lower portion of the skirt is a pale grey stretch silk like fabric. A metal chain mail detailing goes around the top part of that lower skirt
• It has a high collar and the sleeves are long. Each sleeve is finished in a pale pink feather cuff.
• Pin-tuck detailing creates a very pretty and detailed finish at the front of the dress
• The fit through the body is more full and open much like a 1920s flapper dress
  
• It closes with a hidden set back zipper

• I see some teeny little marks on the grey silk and one tiny faint spot on the top of one shoulder. It has the slightest perfumey smell, otherwise in excellent condition.

• A shorter version walked the runway for Spring 2012 for Look 47
• Under the creative direction of Karl Lagerfeld
• The body of the dress is a pale pink knit whose design is set in little individual scallops that slightly overlap the one underneath. It is very intricate and beautiful 
• The neckline is scooped and there are flowers made out of stiffened silk organza mixed with an iridescent fabric that also is stiffened. These are curled inward to form petals. There is a cluster of five flowers around the neck and then ten run down the centre of the front. More circle around the entire hem. The iridescent petals catch the light and add a beautiful dimension to the dress.
• The sleeves are made out of a ivory silk chiffon and each closes with a little domed Chanel button with the double C logo in gold. A third button sits at the back of the neck. Despite having the Chanel button I think that these sleeves may have been added at a later date or upon request of the client. It would explain why they still have the Chanel buttons but they don't look like they were integral to the dress by the way they are set into the arm. I have left it as found but if you did not like them they could easily be removed.
• The dress is unlined and slips over the head to wear. It buttons to close at the back of the neck and on each cuff.
• Tagged a Chanel 36
• The button at the back of the neck has lost its little gold double C logo. I see a tiny little break in the silk at the top of one shoulder. It otherwise is an excellent condition.

• Unlabeled and came from the estate of a woman bought a lot of Oscar de la Renta, Fath, Versace and other high end labels and you can tell that this a dress of quality even without knowing its label.
• It is made out of a beautiful clear and true red silk
• The bodice is strapless and is fitted and shaped to accentuate your curves. The waist nips in and then it extends down one side into a sharp angle. I love how this lengthens the body and gives shape around the hip.
• Below that the skirt is very full and billows out and around you beautifully. The way it is set into the angle of the skirt in soft gathers gives it its fullness. From the side this creates a beautiful angle from the waist to hem.
• Fully lined in a red silk through the bodice and the skirt is lined in two layers of red silk
• It closes with a side set zipper and has light boning through the bodice
• Excellent condition

• Under the creative direction of the original Mr. Valentino
• It was the only dress shown in this entire collection that season that was done in his signature Valentino red. So when you look through the collection photos it really stands out.
• The show was a huge success and Vogue especially loved the evening pieces; "For the evening review, it gets even better. Valentino's communiqués from his couture collection show up as delicate metallic-embroidered chiffons made into fragile capes, cardigans or dresses. And for the grand occasion, there's a full battalion of the designer's fabulous signature chiffon gowns." 
• Suspended from the shoulders by two tiny straps in the same red silk. The bodice is seamed just under the breasts and have minimal darting. 
  
• It skims over the waist and hips and then from there it falls to the floor in a beautiful column of the red silk crepe.
• The back of the dress is cut slightly longer so you have a tiny bit of a sweep behind you.
• Two panels of silk chiffon wrap around the waist area to add detail and shape the dress. The panels are attached all the way around you and then loop through openings at the front of the dress. The ties are cut extra long and fall to just above the hem at the front of the dress.
• The dress closes with a hidden set side zipper.
• The top panel of the bodice is lined in a red silk and the rest of the dress is unlined.
• Tagged a vintage Valentino 10.
• I see a touch of grubbiness here and there around the hem but otherwise excellent condition

• It is made out of a stunning iridescent blue silk taffeta. The fabric choice keeps it light in weight but also holds the lines and shape.
• Big balloon sleeves with cuffs detailed with pleat work
• The body of the piece is cut loose and easy.
• It closes down the front with incredible oversized frog knots that are completely beaded. Another knot sits on the back.
• There are pockets on each side and the bottom portion of the piece is incredibly full and open.
• Fully lined in the same blue silk taffeta as the exterior
• It has a wide inner elastic waist corset that wraps around the inner waist and hooks into place

• The top of each shoulder has an almost transparent net detailing. It is plunged at both the front and back.

• A dramatic collar made of the same blue silk and forming a dense applique of flowers wraps around the neckline and follows the plunge of the back. The same detailing goes around each cuff.

• Its near twin was seen in the Resort 1976 collection
• Under the creative direction of Roy Halston
  
• Made of two layers of silk chiffon that spiral around each other. The top layer is a pale peach and the inner layer a softer paler version of the same colour.
• Completely cut on the bias so has lots of movement and is an easy fit across a range of sizes.
• It hooks at the top of one shoulder and then simply drapes around you. There is a panel that extends out from the side and you can hook this along the edge of the neckline so that it is fully wrapped around you and creates a more cape feel over one arm, or you can just let that sit over your shoulder and trail downward to the floor. I have shown how this looks on one of the back photos.
• Working with this fabric is incredibly difficult and it is a testament to his skill to create such a simple but complex pattern. It is absolutely beautiful.
• There is a small repair along the edge of the wrapped panel and another small vertical one near the shoulder. Please see the photos after the label shot. Some slight fraying near where it hooks at the top of the shoulder and along the inner edge of the seams. All minor and otherwise excellent condition.

• Circa late 1990s
• Under the creative direction of Gianni Versace
• A muted pastel salmon colour that is more pastel feeling in real life than how it photoed here
• The dress has a wide gathered band around the waist and a piece that is attached and loops in and behind one of the panels that form the top
• The panels are one piece of fabric that loops around the neck and the down to attach into the waist. You cross it over itself so that it goes behind the neck. You can then wear them high up on the shoulder or have it cape and fall over the upper arm.
• This leaves your entire back open and exposed
• The skirt has an inner piece that acts a partial lining. The outer skirt drapes over that and forms those interesting pocket like pieces on each hip. It then drapes inwards and down to the hem with a centre slit up both the front and back of the skirt
• It is a very interesting and an avant garde design
• The bodice is made of two layers of the same fabric and the skirt has a partial lining through the hips and the rest of the skirt is unlined.

• Harry Algo pieces are extremely well tailored and the line was sold at high end shops like the Elizabeth Arden couture salon in NYC. 
• Incredibly beautiful dress with a classic vintage feel
• Made from a printed silk chiffon that combines a deep peach/orange base with pale shades of blue and soft grey printed onto the silk
• It is fully lined in a peach silk that act the lining. On the bodice the silk chiffon is set over this and attached around the edges of the arm holes. A caped piece starts at the front of the arm and wraps all the way back like a little perfect cape.
• That attached cape piece is finished with a densely applied edge of hand dyed feathers to bring out the colours in the print
• The waist is seamed and I have added a little ribbon there. It is not original to the dress but will be sent with it.
• The skirt flows to the floor with an extra layer of silk chiffon under the top printed layer
• Fully lined in silk and closes with a back zipper. The cape part buttons to close behind the neck
• Hand finishes throughout and very well made
• Excellent condition

• This is a very well documented dress. It was shot for Elle France magazine that season in an orange, and Carolyn Murphy wore its twin in green to the Met Gala in 2003.
• The collar is fully beaded and the dress falls from there in a long sheath to the floor over the body with just a slight bit of shape through the waist.
• At the back five cords extend out and hook on the sides of the neck and then cross over each other to attach to the dress on the other side.
• Each of the cords has beads that are knotted into it along the lengths.
• Where it attaches in at the sides, the cords extend and drop down. When you walk these move and the full effect is just amazing.
• Unlined and slips on to wear
• The cords at the back hook into place on either side of the neck. Hand finishes throughout.
  
• The fabric does have stretch and the measurement below are those comfortable while laying flat. The back dips to approx 20-21"

• The twin of this dress was photoed for Vogue that season 
• A rare example of an all black Faye Dress.
• The Faye dress was named after Faye Dunaway and Thea made these in various fabrications starting in 1968. These were one of her most iconic designs. This is the only one I've ever seen outside of the Vogue shot in a single solid colour. Given her extremely limited run on certain pieces it could only be one of a couple that exist. It is truly a very special piece.
• The neckline has a high collar that wraps around the neck.
• The body skims over you to a seam that is centred along the front waist and sits slightly high. Black silk chiffon is heavily gathered into that seam and falls down into the skirt. 
• A panel of silk falls from under the arm to the hem and then that gathered-in area repeats at the back. This gives you a touch of shape through the front and back while still keeping the waist loose and generous in feel. It's a very clever design detail that is a signature of her classic Faye dresses.
• Each sleeve is gathered onto the top of the shoulder and then they are cut to be extremely wide and full flaring out to their ends. A wide black satin ribbon finishes the edge while a second ribbon sits above that for added detail. That same double ribbon treatment runs all the way around the hem of the dress.
• These Faye dresses were not a true caftan but they did have that easy to wear feel to them that her caftan pieces also have. This is an exceptional and rare example of her work.
• Unlined and has a touch of transparency to it so you would have to wear something underneath if you wanted it to be opaque
• It closes with a zipper at the back and hook & eye at the back of the neck.

• Outstanding designs from this era are increasingly hard to find and this beautiful dress is a joy to see.
• Made entirely of a black silk velvet that is light and has incredible movement and softness.
• The dress is completely bias cut and drapes over the bust, comes in at the waist and then skims over your hips to fall to the floor in a beautiful expanse of silk velvet.
• The skirt widens out as it nears the floor and the back is cut slightly longer for a bit of a sweeping feel.
• The sides are set in a bit of low plunge and the back plunges right to the waist. It is simply a beautiful dress.
• Unlined and completely cut on the bias
• Slips on to wear with no closures
• It's a piece that can accommodate a lot of sizes because of the range of movement the bias cut has. I've put extra small to medium, but it might even work on a large as long as the waist works.

• Made from a red liquid silk. Both the cut and fabric are reminiscent of pieces from the thirties and forties 
  
• Wide straps curve over the shoulders and extend down to form the halter feeling bust
• It has a deep front plunge and the fabric is gathered into a centre knot at the base of the plunge.
• At the back the dress falls in one swoop down from the shoulders
• An extra panel of fabric is created from the front knot and it runs down the centre of the dress all the way to the hem. It creates that beautiful draping and also gives the skirt incredible movement. 
  
• Fully lined in a red silk and closes with a hidden set side zipper.
  
• The bias cut should allow it to work on a range of sizes. I have put the comfortable range of measurements below when laying flat.

• Under the creative direction of John Galliano
• The show was shown in Shanghai that season. The red used for this dress and the single red dress in the show were a nod to the country, but overall Galliano chose not to do very specific references to Shanghai. He said at the time that he was more trying to "capture the feeling of Paris in its heyday" which was what he said he felt happening in Shanghai at that time.
•  Made from a muted red silk crepe chiffon that has a little bit of texture to it
• Wide straps curve up and around the neck and then extend into panels that cover your front and wrap around to the back.
• The neckline has a bit of a plunge at the front and the entire upper back is left bare.
• The silk is gathered down the front of the dress and is held in place by little horizontal ruffles of the same silk chiffon. The pleat work narrows down to a point at the waist. 
• The silk of the skirt is gathered up and into the centre point of the bodice and I love the extra detail this creates. The bottom skirt is quite full and widens out as it nears the hem.
• There is a slit that runs up the top layer of the skirt and this helps to creates beautiful movement as you walk. 
• Buttons are spaced down the side in his signature tightly spaced fabric covered buttons and loops and these hide a hidden set zipper.
• Fully lined in a red silk
• Tagged a Dior FR36, GB8, IT40, US4

• The twin of this gorgeous suit walked the Fall 2008 runway as Look 37
• Under the creative direction of John Galliano
• The show celebrated the 1960s with the opening music Simon & Garfunkel's 'Mrs. Robinson'. The models were styled with a nod to the 60s but in a highly exaggerated way.
• Galliano said of the show "I am always looking for heroines who make me dream"
• The suit is a brilliant green silk /cotton mix which keeps it light in weight but has enough structure to allow it to hold its intended shape perfectly.
• The collar is wide and exaggerated and the suit closes with matching silk covered buttons and hidden set snaps down the front.
• A little bow sits at the centre of the front and little flap pockets still have their tacking in place on each hip. The hips are shaped to curve outwards.
• The end of the sleeves and the around the entire hem is heavily embellished with big round silver discs, glass or stone polished pieces, mixed with little gold sequins.
• The skirt is cut in a little bit of a flare and will sit just above the knee depending on your height.
• Both pieces are lined in a green silk
• The jacket snaps and buttons to close down the front and the skirt closes with a hidden set side zipper
• The jacket is tagged at FR42, GB14, IT46, US10. The skirt is tagged FR36, GB8, IT40, US4.
• I see a teeny darkened mark on the skirt near a seam and a teeny faint spot on the back that is very minor. There are some missing embellishments here and there. Otherwise, it is in excellent condition.

• The pants have a flat front and are pressed down the front and back of the pants. They have wide legs and a slight flare at the bottom. The pants close with a back zipper.
• The set gives you the versatility of being able to mix a match with other pieces in your wardrobe
• Both pieces are fully lined in a brown silk

• Made of a pink striped silk chiffon that has a gold thread shot through the striped pattern. The gold picks the light up to give the dress a subtle shimmer.

• The skirt is full and widen out as it needs the hem
• The front of the bodice and the skirt are lined in a nude silk chiffon, and the back and sleeves are unlined.
• It closes with the fabric covered buttons down the front and snapped at the waist. Each sleeve snapped to close. Like padding in each shoulder.

• Flat fitted waist and then it has perfectly spaced knife pleats all around the hip to give it the volume that you see
• Tiny little zip pockets on each hip that are functional but shallow
• The little Chanel logo button on the one hip is meant to represent a map of the Earth
• Slits on either side of the skirt
• Made out of a cotton and then densely applied with hundreds of thousands of silver sequins in various sizes. Little dots of silver thread are interspersed in between all of those sequins.
• It closes with a hidden set back zipper
• Tagged a modern Chanel 38
• It appears to have been worn very little if at all. Excellent condition.

• The body of the dress is cut loose and easy to skim over you and flares out at the hem
• Made out of a fine black wool with a pale taupe inset at the front
• The long circular design at the front is a Cardin signature
• Six pairs of glossy black buttons run down the front for detail
• Fully lined in a black silk and closes with a hidden set back zipper
• Excellent overall condition with a couple tiny nicks in the fabric here and there
