From the early couture/demi-couture label this is a lovely classic knit wool coat by Norman Norell. No one did classic like Norell and his earlier pieces seem to cater to that certain lady of means that wanted well made, beautifully cut and tailored pieces like this. The coat is cut simply with no collar and simple sleeves. It buttons down the front with large rounded buttons. An attached belt wraps around the waist to give some definition and sense of shape tot he otherwise tubular body of the coat. I love the wide open side pockets that sit on each hip. Its a good weight but not cumbersome - the wearer still can mover freely and not feel weighted down. Excellent condition

What an absolutely wonderful piece! Layers of silk organza float over each other on this pretty floor length skirt. The very top layer is hand painted with sweet bouquets of lavender flowers. It would work for the day or into the evening and is a stunning statement piece! I adore that at the waist it has ties that are very long and can wrap around the waist for you to tie as you wish. Wonderful condition!

Made of three layers. The innermost layer is a silk voile, the middle layer a silk organza and the top layer is the hand painted silk organza. Closes with hook and eye and snaps at the waist - you could probably get another 1" if you moved them. The tie is attached. There is a slight bit of grubbiness to the hem here and there along the very edge - this may come out with additional cleaning but it has been specialty cleaned. It presents perfectly fine when on.

A pretty natural beige colored mink whose fur is still extremely supple and soft. The jacket is pieced together in vertical stripes set extremely close together and matched perfectly for pile and color. I love how thoroughly modern it feels - some of these 50s short jackets feel very dated and they are heavy - this one is light and supple. I especially love the sleeves - they are cut to the same length as the hem and each widens as it nears its cuff and it has a "ruffle" effect that is very pretty. They are actally a cross between a true sleeve and a cape! Perfect for over jeans or the dressiest occasion. Excellent condition - it has been stored properly and it shows!

The shoulders are strong but cut slim and the collar is neat and small. I love how a striped line  is created by following the natural pelts and how it has an almost swing jacket cut. Pockets are hidden along the front and the sleeves are wide. The pelts are very soft and supple  and are thick enough that the leather panels between the pelts are barely seen. It's a very light and comfortable weight. Excellent condition.

An amazing and rare satin Biba top that is a pretty shade of lilac. Biba pieces where made to wear and dispose of and the wilder pieces were the ones most worn and most coveted. This is a stunning example of what Biba was doing at the time and can be worn as a tunic or even over tights to create almost a mini dress feel. The sleeves are amazing - as each nears the cuff they round out like a balloon. A keyhole neckline that can be closed or left open for a deep plunge and a tunic feel through the body. Love the little sequin applique on the one shoulder! Great condition

Unlined and slips on. There is elastic at the waist and each cuff. This elastic has stretched out so is loose and open as shown. You could replace it if you wish it to fit tighter but it works as is and is original so its been left. One button at the top of the keyhole neckline. The sequin applique on the shoulder is hand stitched into place. One tiny repair the the back peplum just under the waistline - does not detract and not apparent when on. I have priced it accordingly.

This late 1930s, early 1940s topper is pure high drama! Bes Ben was a famous Chicago milliner who specialized in hats that were elaborate and unusual. This is an early piece that is quite beautiful. A rounded cap has a neat, small half brim that follows the curve of the hat. To this brilliant plumage is added and secured by a paste rhinestone. large stone. The fathers are very dramatic and add height and width! It is amazing and highly collectible.

The feathers show a teeny bit of wear but it is very minor. Super-size the photos to see. Slight dustiness tot he felt. Overall excellent condition

A wonderful hand dyed cherry red feather coat by Donald Brooks for Mainden Form made of soft ostrich feathers! The color against the crazy huge dotted black and white lining is just incredible! It's a pure candy color - think cherry popsicles in the summertime. It has a dotted tie at the neck in the same stretch jersey as the interior which adds a nice punch of contrast. Very rock and roll chic and perfect for the feel of this season the Hedi has given at Saint Laurent. Excellent condition with some minor shedding to the feathers.

Fully lined in a crazy huge black and white stretch jersey and has a tie at the neck of the same fabric. Note that the coat does shed slightly. Slightly more cherry red then shown in the photos.

Insanely fabulous and extremely over the top is this dramatic Guy LaRoche sweater with its extravagant father collar and sleeves! The feathers have been hand dyed perfectly to match the light sweater and this tone on tone effect is marvelous - both the main and under feathers have been used. The neck is cut quite wide so the feathers sit across the shoulders rather then bunch up around the face! Excellent, appears unworn condition

From the 90s revival of the Biba label comes this fabulous little black satin top. It has the wide pointed collars from the seventies and great French cuffed style sleeves. You can cinch in the waits with the attached back tie. I normally pass by pieces form this revival of the label but I actually like this top and feel it will work well with a modern girls wardrobe! Excellent, appears unworn condition.

Unlined and buttons to close, including the cuffs. All the buttons are stamped Biba.

Stella McCartney is one of our great modern designers and this little top is so representative of her. It skims the body and is cut on the bias. It has that floating, light feeling you see in her silk pieces and I love the clay color. The panels are tacked into place so that they drape prettily. The top panel is beaded on little strands of metallic thread! Very pretty and in excellent condition

This is a fantastic Lee Bender jacket! Made of a deep burgundy crepe fabric detailed with satin to bring out the design elements perfectly! I love the pointed collar and inset shoulders. It buttons down the front and a matching satin sash cinches in the waist, The cuffs and pockets have that same satin finish as well. Each sleeve is cut to widen as it nears the hem. It all adds up to a fabulous example of why Lee Bender is a British design favorite for collectors! Excellent condition

This is drop dead sexy! A to the floor silk satin skirt is cut on the bias and has the highest slit running up one leg! It is almost indecent between the length of leg exposed and the slinkiness of that fluid fabric. Its a signature piece and can be styled an infinite number of ways! Greta condition
