Insanely fabulous, skinny fit, early Biba cardigan sweater in a fantastic combination of browns and muted metallic gold! Biba did that sort of girlie meets boy Carnaby Street chic so well and this is a fantastic example of just that! This is a piece that will work well layered under jackets or worn on its own. Love the checked pattern and that the edging down the front that has a bit of glittering thread woven through it! It is the perfect pairing of cool, newsboy chic and avant garde. There are two of these in total and they will mix and match fantastically with some of the other bangles we have listed right now! These are thick heavy cuffs done in some type of resin to look like horn and then brass has been added to create the hinges and overlays. They have a terrific patina to them and are in wonderful condition. Each is slightly different from the other and can be worn stacked or on their own. They are a good hefty weight too!

Fantastic drawstring bag from the great Halston is in a taupe colored snake leather on the outside and then is lined in a butter soft chocolate leather inside. The strap weaves through holes circling around the edge and is kept in place by tasseled ends! Love that! It has the original Halston label and is a great collectible as well as a fabulous piece to love and use! Excellent condition!

Gorgeous cotton velvet skirt by the great Emilio Pucci! A deep deep charcoal tinted navy has a design of flowers and leaves all through it - stylized lilies they seem to be. The edges are all printed with a contrasting deign as is the trademark of Pucci. This piece is more subtle than the big vibrant pieces one often sees from Pucci but that makes it slightly more interesting in my opinion! I love how all the printed parts of the design are a muted grey except the flowers themselves - those are left white! It is a great piece to work into a fall wardrobe! Excellent condition

I don't list a ton of vintage belts on the site because, well, frankly I am super picky. Most are too light weight and just don't stand up to a lot of the really great modern ones so I pass hundreds by and wait to pounce on the occasional gem. This is that gem. Its gold toned filigree squares inset with soft jade looking pieces - the contrast of the gold and green is perfection. The belt has a really good weight to it and its well put together. It's a great piece and in excellent condition with no visible tarnishing.

This is a gorgeous Tom Ford for Gucci metallic gold top. The fabric is extremely light weight and has a subtle gold thread that shimmers through it. This piece is iconic and appeared in several magazines at the time of it's release. A deep plunge front is anchored by a heavy gold toned Gucci "dragon" brooch that can be removed and worn separately. Highly collectible and in excellent condition. The exact fabric and style as the dress version from the runway! The fabric is also signed throughout

Fantastic gold toned belt from Christian Dior is the perfect mod accessory to add to just about any outfit for an instant bit of flash. Classic thick snake rope chain is welded together in a double row so a loop is formed at one end. The other ends in two fantastic gold chain tassels - each almost 2 inches long and topped with a rounded filigreed cap! There are three hooks to adjust the length. Its in excellent condition - no serious tarnish or loss of color and the Dior logo plat is on the back. I have seen girls also wear these as necklaces so you can style it with whatever imagination you can come up with!

A stunning, original, 1920s Brass tone Metal Flapper Deco Headpiece with emerald green enamel art deco drops and glass faux pearl loops that end in an amber colored stone (lucite? glass?) The pearl loop is actually attached to a metal rod that moved freely in a circle so in theory as you move your head they will stay draped properly since the can move with you while the rest of the head piece stays in place. † These pieces were very popular in the twenties and where the crowing jewel for any flapper. - they fit perfectly atop a bobbed head or could be worked in and around the most elaborate of up-dos.† Sliding, adjustable slightly hammered textured gold or brass tone metal bands at the top to fit anyone. Can be slightly bent by hand to match your head shape and then hammered down to keep that shape. Will even fit an extra large head so extremely versatile. It has a nice weight to it and these are very hard to find in such wonderful condition as this one is in

How can you not love Pucci and to combine Pucci with the shape of the perfectly feminine little frame bag - I die! Classic Pucci print makes the exterior of this bag an instant recognizable iconic piece. The shape is wonderful - a mini treasure frame bag that has soft rounded corners and widens from the clasp frame into a solid little base. I love the elaborate gold toned clasp that sits atop the frame and the handle is just the right size to balance the bag! Wonderful condition!

Franco Moschino did an entire collection of pieces that played on the classic Chanel suitings and this jacket is part of that parody. Trompe L'Oeil boucle and big gold buttons are screened onto the exterior so you do a bit of a double take at first glance. I love the play of print on a smooth textured fine wool. Even the buttons and screened! It is also from the high end couture label! Ecellent condition

This is the season for these longer gypsy syle skirts and I have a entire batch of them in an assortment of prints and pretty colors to share - all from the great Yves Saint Laurent! This one is just stunning with its blurred watercolor floral design on a cream silk backdrop - the colors absolutely pop!. The skirt widens as it flows out to the hem and it has a stunning ruffled hip detail that is completely exxagerated and just the kind of detail you expect from one of the great couturiers. It moves fantastically - its made of silk taffeta so has great drape and is light and airy feeling when worn. It also has fantastic hidden side pockets! Excellent conditon.

This is an interesting piece. My client purchased it from a woman who collected antique costumes. She was told this was a tiara that had been used in the Ziegfeld Follies Productions around 1924-25. The Follies, where of course famous for their elaborate "flapper" productions in New York from 1907 to 1931. They where famous for their chorus girls and were quite risque for the times - my client is a long time collector so I feel assured this is most likely true, though of course I have no written proof so have priced it on its own merit. It has a decidedly costume, arts and crafts feel to it - the frame is a thick steel wire that is twisted into shape and the rhinestone are paste and prong set. It's not a glitzy, blingy piece like some are but in a way that is exactly what what makes it more appealing. It's spectacular and a real work of art.

This skirt is a rare example of Sybil Connolly work and it appears to have never been worn, making it that much more collectible. What makes this piece even more interesting is that it is very similar to a skirt that is part of the permanent collection of the FDIM Museum in Los Angeles, recently featured on their blog. It is also very similar to one worn in an official White House portrait of Jacqueline Kennedy (see my blog post on that here). I want to share with you this excerpt from the FDIM blog entry, remarking on Sybil Connolly's techniques:

Sybil Connolly's trademark gowns required a tremendous amount of fabric. To construct one pleated evening dress required between 72 and 90 yards of un-pleated Irish handkerchief linen. After undergoing a secret pleating process, this initial yardage became 7 to 10 yards of slightly irregular, narrow linen pleats. Like the early 20th century designer Mario Fortuny, Sybil Connolly was very protective of her pleating process, swearing that it was a secret she would "carry to the grave."³

In her designs, Connolly usually oriented the pleats horizontally, covering the seams with self-fabric cording. The cords also lengthen the overall line of the garment, providing a counterbalance to the horizontal pleats. As Connolly tended towards solid colors, the stiff cording also provides a necessary visual contrast to the soft linen pleats.

This skirt is a stunning example of that technique. The workmanship and time spent to construct this is astonishing and it is a true work of art and a rare piece of fashion history. Mint, unworn condition.

This coat is amazing! Cut like a great coat it is the absolutely last word, ultimate rock and roll hippie chic, flower power coat! Labelled Dynasty, it is very well made and surprisingly light. It has a good weight to it but is not in the least heavy or cumbersome to wear. The exterior is amazing - a virtual flower garden in vibrant pinks and oranges sit atop olive leaves and a deep, almost black, purple-brown back drop.† The velvet is a short pile velvet and each flower is quilted so you get this slight texture to the entire piece that really just adds to its fabulousness. The entire hem has a second quilted design huge blossoms ring the entire hem. Really fabulous! Excellent condition.

I love these Valentino sunglasses. The frames are handmade and are a type of horn or horn looking resin that has really terrific accents and an interesting depth the the color. They are not crazy huge - rather a more refined lady like size and shape. Super dark, original lenses. Fantastic condition.

Gorgeous pale sea green knit top is classic sixties chic! This is an exceptional example of the little sequin piece and a modern girl could work it into her wardrobe by pairing it with unexpected fabrics or cuts (cargoes & sequins anyone?) A pale aqua green knit is topped with iridescent sequins and then a tightly spaced beaded design works its way down the front in fabulous scalloped dollops! A fabulous row of dangling, strung beaded fringe creates movement all around the bottom hem! Excellent condition and a show stopping color!

A fantastic 1950s lambswool & angora pin up sweater done is a soft palette of pastels. The amazing beaded detail that upon closer glance is actually representative of the sea make this one a stunner indeed! Dangling strung fringes of beads edge the front, neckline and cuffs. The entire rest of the sweater is beaded with little scattered seed beads giving the idea of "bubbles" and then sea horses and starfish flit across the front and back! Amazingly this is all hand done - you can see the thread work on the reverse side! Its a stunning and versatile separate that is perfect for the lady like look showing so strongly at the moment!

Gorgeous and rare fitted crop top is the ultimate pin up girl fantasy piece! Done in a girlie and sexy pale pink with brighter pops of pink sequins this is a beauty indeed! This is an exceptional example of the little sequin & beaded piece and a modern girl could work it into her wardrobe by pairing it with unexpected fabrics or cuts (cargoes & sequins anyone?) A mixture of silver and pale pale baby blue glass tube beads cover the entire top. Little pink bursts of sequins are scattered throughout. A heavier beaded edge around the collar add the perfect touch!† Excellent condition and a show stopping color!

Gorgeous and bright multi color silk jacket from Victor Costa. You can see why this was in the closet of Judy and Jane - it has that luxe feel mixed with street chic that they are so known for! I love the bright bright colors - they are the exact right hues to feel as rich as possible and they go together perfectly. The cut is impeccable and the fabric a good weight so it feels great to wear. Heavy flat cording detail separate the colors in a stain glass kind of way. You can see the influence of that color block trend of the time in this beauty! Mint condition. Item# JJA30

This sixties coat is really unusual. The base fabric is a thicker cotton mix that has an almost canvas like feel to it but with a smooth texture to it, not the rough weave of a true canvas. Its a deep deep blue. Onto this are rows of little yellow ducks done is folk art fashion and in rows from tops to bottom. These are done with stitched embroidery work and add a pretty pop of color against the blue. Its cut to just below the knee and though it would be a shame to loose a row of those cute little ducks it would look fantastic shortened too! It has a matching fabric belt and even it has the embroidery work on it. I love the collar - it's rounded and pleated at the base to form it to go around the neck. It's a pretty feminine touch. Excellent condition.

This pretty kimono coat or dress, is not absolutely perfect but still so wonderful I cannot resist listing it! The exterior is on great shape and is a fab mix of a smoky blue, silver and gold thread-work all woven to create fabric that has a subtle metallic sheen. Its not a true kimono - rather a westernized version. The sleeves are kimono shaped but the drop is far shorter that a traditional kimono and the tie belt is handily attached at the back. I think it would make a dramatic and fabulous evening coat or wrap and tie it over a slip and wear it our as a dress. The fabric is very light and fluid so drapes wonderfully.

Interesting and unusual shape rhinestone Tiara from approximately the 1920s though it might be a little earlier or a little later. It has a silver metal base and I love that the inside of the head band is finished with etched in scroll work. The Rhinestones are prong set with the very peak welded and fixed into place but with the strands connecting to the band left so that they have some movement. No missing or darkened stones. Fabulous!

A very unusual twenties boudoir cap or cloche is all hand formed from gold metallic ribbon applied in circles and then stitched down. The edges that result are all scalloped. The inside stitching is somewhat crude. I suspect a girl made this for herself to wear back then. I cant really figure out what the front or the back is - it can be worn just about anyway. Was packed & stored and looks unworn. Really neat piece in great condition.
