A wonderful seventies hippie feeling mink patchwork cape that feels so on trend again. Love the mix of shades from a cream to a deep chocolate with shaded of taupes, grey and brown between, Both the neck and edge are trimmed in a wide band of contrasting fur. It closes with large hook and eye down the front and you can add definition through the waist with the fur pompom tilled leather tie belt. There is no sign of drying at all and the fur looks like it has never been worn. Remarkably soft and light it is a very glamorous and luxurious piece. Well made piece and has a Bonwitt Teller label. Excellent condition

This is a stunning hand dyed fur jacket with leather inserts under each arm and down the sides and also circling the waist and down the front. It perfectly captures that seventies chic movement happening right now and it is in amazing condition. The cropped shape and bomber feel are perfect to pair with jeans or to top just about anything else. I love the unusual color of the pelts and the contrast with the deep brown suede. The pelts are very soft and supple and the suede is of a medium weight so is not too stiff like some vintage versions are. It's a very light and comfortable weight. I also love the brass colored metal turn key locks - it has a very Bonnie Cashin vibe though it only has its Bonwitt Teller label. Excellent condition.

The sleeves are show stoppers - each trails down dramatically past the hip and are left open along the entire inner sleeve. Over that is layered a cropped cardigan that ties at the front I love the versatility of the two pieces. It feels so nineties and is perfect for the current 90s revival. Excellent condition

It is always a privilege to have true Haute Couture pieces pass through the shop. Haute Couture is the very pinnacle of the fashion experience and I would hazard to say that vintage versions are even a little more special. You also get a lot for your money in many ways with vintage versions as the cost of current Haute Couture has skyrocketed. We have a couple of pieces from this collection coming and have included a partial video of the show - and happily the clip includes a version of this blouse on the runway.

This would have been designed and created under the eye of Yves himself and this has the added specialness of coming directly from the daughter of the Haute Couture client so has not been on the market prior to this. The blouse is exquisite and of course it is entirely hand made as the parameters of Haute Couture define. The silk is of the finest grade and you can feel the difference at first touch. I love the little rows of flowers that run vertically through the silk adding an extra dimension. All the YSL signature touches are there - the Victorian-esque shoulder and sleeves, the high neck with its tie and in this case an added jabot at the neck under the tie to create a dramatic ruffle. It is absolutely exquisite and a stunning example of Haute Couture while Yves was alive. Excellent condition

French cuffs, however they do not have the buttons. my client recalls her mother wearing these with jeweled cuffs and we suspect she ordered it without buttons since she wore her own jeweled version. Entirely hand done as one would expect from Haute Couture.

Studded pieces from the 1940s are almost impossible to find and often examples that you do find will just have a touch or detailing of stud work. This spectacular Fred Block jacket is like the holy grail as it is completely covered in hand set silver studs with a denser application of them on the front of the jacket. The cut is perfectly simple and perfectly feminine with a beautifully fitted silhouette. It is cut in a classic forties design with a trim and fitted waist and shoulders that are set square. Over the entire surface of the wool crepe are tiny hand set silver studs, each individually placed in prong settings and then hammered flat by hand. They are evenly spaced over the back and sleeves but when they hit the upper front shoulders of the jacket they are set in a more dense pattern that really catches the light. I love the two strips of pink that run across the front - really spectacular! One of the most striking and unusual 1940s jackets I have ever had. Excellent condition

Fully lined in a black silk crepe and closes with a front button and hook and eye. The exterior is 100% wool. There is the teeniest of tarnishing on some of the studs but it is very minor and because of the dense coverage of studs you would never notice unless looking specifically

Love this beautiful and classic silk blouse by Yves Saint Laurent. It is really quite fabulous and has an almost swashbuckling feel to it with its double row, ruffled collar and loose and easy cut. That detailing n the collar and ruffle on each cuff is just classic Yves. Each cuff buttons at the wrist so you get a bit of a pouf over the wrist. Made of a gorgeous, fine grade silk and a classic in black. Excellent condition.

Love this graphic feeling little jacket with its mix of spotted rabbit pelts and leather insets cut on the diagonal. It is a classic Aline cut with a zip front and sleek lines. The zip at the front is big and chunky and makes a style statement on its own. That combined with the panels of leather that sit between the fur and the spotted pattern of the fur itself just adds up to something special. It's a cool mix of deep chocolates, black, the natural white of the fur. I love the contrast this all creates and the great shape once on. The inside is the last final fabulous element - its a checked black and white silk that gives an amazing contrast when the jacket is worn open. Excellent condition.

Fully lined in a black & white silk and zips to close. Hidden pickets on each hip along the edge of one of the leather insets. Rabbit does shed naturally a teeny bit but it was cold stored properly and still sound. The pelts are supple, soft and shiny and the leather has not stiffened.

The front is bibbed with the contrasting fabric which is picked up again on the cuffs. I love the cit of the shoulders - each is high and capped. The sleeves are cut with the slightly rounded curve of days gone by and the body is fitted through the waist. Here logo is embroidered near the hem on one side. Excellent condition.

It's beautifully made and its twin walked the Fall 2000 catwalk and appears in the book "Sonia Rykiel" by Olivier Saillard, Beatrice Salmon, Liz Goldwyn and Akiko Fukai, published in 2009 by Rizzoli, on page 569 (The last photo displayed here is the runway photo). The inside is lined in a silky rayon and it is very light and easy to wear  - use it as a light evening coat, wear it loose or belt it with it matching tie belt. Excellent condition

A once in a lifetime, ultimate statement tuxedo jacket made by none other then the fabulous Bob Mackie as a custom piece for my client so is one of a kind! It is made from a silvered silk that is fashioned to follow the lines of a man's formal tuxedo or Ringmaster coat. In typical Mackie style it is heavily treated with beading. An elaborate design in slate silvered beads defines the edging of the jacket and runs heavily down each sleeve and accent the dips of the front and beck. On the sleeve the design is finished with dangling strands of beads. This is picked up and exaggerated with a huge tassel on each point of the front and to anchor that dramatic tail at the back. I love the neat black velvet collar that finishes the piece. Excellent, appears unworn condition

The Clements Ribeiro line is known for its bold prints and colors. It was established in the 90s and I believe that this coat is from that time period. In 1997 the brand was named one of the "Magnificent seven" along with such luminaries as McQueen, Tom Ford, Lagerfeld, Prada, Valentino and Yamamoto. This coat is a gorgeous example of their work and has a little bit of a swashbuckling great coat feel to it. It really needs a real girl in it to properly convey the cut but I hope the photos do it some justice. The color is a rich raspberry fuchsia and it is made of a medium weight wool. It has huge cuffs and extra fabric through the back for volume. Excellent condition.

An amazing testament to construction and pure joy of form, this extravagant full length skirt by Yves Saint Laurent is perfection. The original owner was the wife of a diplomat and had many of her clothing custom made by YSL in her size. This is a wonderful opportinuty to get pieces in larger sizes that are very high end - a rarity in the vintage world sometimes. Watch for several pieces from her estate to come! The skirt is made of rich combination of silk taffeta topped and black velvet set into a harlequin pattern. At the hem a dramatic flounce of lace peeps out from underneath an extravagant ribbon trim. It has yards of fabric in it so is quite full and you gets lots of lovely volume when you move but it is cut to make you look lean and long when standing. Incredibly it has its original tags - $6600! Excellent, unworn condition

Love the versatility of this coat. The fur is very light and supple - the only weight comes from the leather backing and it is also very lightweight. It is fully reversible with pockets that tuck in on either side that you choose to wear on the exterior. On the fur side the pelts have been matched to create that interesting pattern that you see. On the reverse side I love how the edges where the pelts meet have an almost deconstructed look to them. Very unusual and very chic. It is light and easy to wear with a simple design so that the pattern of the fur can shine through. Excellent condition.

Fully reversible. Squirrel pelts that are in excellent condition and very supple. Pockets on either side. Closes with a series of hidden fur hooks down the front - note that the hook for the 4th closure down is missing. Priced accordingly.

Instantly recognizable as a Westwood this camel colored coat is a beauty! It has that great swashbuckling styling that she does and great design details. The sleeves are amazing with high capped shoulders and an exaggerated shape that narrows to long, buttoned cuffs. The body of the coat is cut on the angle and the collar with one side being quite larger then the other only adds to this feel. The pockets are faux but offer up a great design detail. Made of a medium weight wool that is heavy enough for warmth but light enough to be comfortable when worn. Excellent condition.

Fall 2006's collection was called "The Widows of Culloden". The Alexander McQueen site says of this collection:

"The inspiration here is highly personal – the designer’s own heritage – which goes at least some way towards explaining the exquisite hand-craftsmanship that goes into each piece as well, of course, as bird head-dresses and McQueen tartan. The collection is luxurious and romantic but melancholic and even austere at the same time. The silhouette – all nipped waists, bustles and exaggerated hip lines – is designed to exaggerate a woman’s form and each piece is unique, a one-off couture creation with emotional content intended to be handed down from generation to generation like the most precious of heirlooms."

This jacket is from the RTW collection based on the runway. It is a fabulous silk leopard print jacket with a trim of velvet and mink. It is cut with the amazing precision that one expects to see in a McQueen piece. The sleeves are cut glove length and with that slight curve that he loved. The seam work through the body of the jacket is incredible - it is pieced in a series of perfectly spaced seams to nip in the waist. It is in excellent, museum quality condition.
