I Have a Question
This is one of two leopard printed pi y hair jackets that I have in the shop this week that originate from Mexican during the 1960s or 70s. These would have been made by hand by local artisans for the tourist market and represent an important part of the artisanal history during this time period. This one has a double row of shiny buttons that run down the front and a very wide collar that is rounded off at its edges. The sleeves are long and the waist curves in slightly. The coat has a ton of swag to it and is amazing in person. I love the top set pockets on the hips. Each one is detailed with a patent leather piping that runs down dividing the pocket visually into three panels. This picks up on the patent covering the front buttons. The coat is not 100% perfect but its in great condition and still very wearable.
Lined in a silky black rayon and closes with the buttons at the front. One button is missing its cap. There is a small nick on the fur on the collar where the crease is and a small bald spot under one pocket. The coat is in as found condition and does have a slight vintage odor. The pelts are still supple and glossy. Should fit a range of sizes depending on how you like to wear your coat

I have a small collection of historically important, key designer labelled vintage furs and fur trimmed pieces stored away in my archives that I will be slowly posting on the site over the next couple of years until I have none left. I will no longer be buying furs for the shop moving forward and have not purchased anything for several years now. I feel like times have changed and while there still is a place for vintage furs for some, including collectors and historians, many modern girls are choosing other options. Many of the pieces in my collection are representative of the designer during a set time period in history that was different then our modern outlook. I have decided that the best course to handle this controversial issue is to let the pieces I have go rather then sit in a cold storage unit. Fur coats are final sale.
This jacket is incredible and in person it is even better then how it photoed. The gold on it makes more of an impact and you really get a sense of the detail and texture that is in this jacket. The base of the jacket is a black, light weight felted wool that is very soft and fine. Top stitched onto this is a metallic gold thread that is set in long vertical lines and then there is a second diamond pattern over those. The gold thread cover the entire jacket and really give it a lush feel. All of the edges are finished with a thick black and gold braiding. This circles the cuffs and hem, runs up the front and around the collar and sits across the top of each front pocket. He has also added it around the seams where the arms attach. The cut is a comfortable to wear box cut that is chic but loose and easy - a classic Yves silhouette. The sleeves are cut wide which makes them quite striking with that gold thread and cording design. The loose and easy cut make it extremely versatile and it is the kind of piece that will work equally well for a casual afternoon or as evening wear. Excellent condition
Fully interlined in a black silk satin that has the same thread treatment making the inside the jacket as gorgeous as the exterior. It buttons to close down the front as seem. Tagged a 44. It looks to have been worn very little if at all. It is a true inky black and a deeper gold in person

This is a gorgeous purple print Yves Saint Laurent jacket whose fabric has a fabulous top stitch, quilted detailing that has been done with a gold metallic thread. The gold has been done in a diamond shaped pattern over the entire jacket so that it has a subtle glimmer. The cut is beautiful. The shoulders have a touch of padding in them and the sleeves are slightly capped at the top and are cut to narrow in as they reach the wrist. The waist is seamed and there is a slight peplum under that seam that glides over the top of the hips. You can exaggerate this flared hip even more by adding a belt. The print is a mix of purple and blues. It is finished with flat gold toned buttons that run down the front and tie in with the gold top stitching. A stunning Yves Saint Laurent piece. A version in a different colour was featured in the ad campaign that year. Excellent condition
Fully lined in a purple silk and closes at the front with the buttons as shown. It looks to have never been worn or worn very little. Still has its extra button sewn inside. Tagged a vintage YSL 44

This is the vintage fur everyone looks for. That simple box cut to just past the hip in a natural red fox. It was the jacket that every 'It girl' of the seventies wore. It has a strong nod to the 1940s in its cut and fits perfectly once on without overwhelming the body. The shoulders on this one are soft and rounded and the cut through the body is loose and generous. It has an almost swing jacket cut to it. All of the pelts run horizontally and I love how they all line up across the sleeves and through the body. Suede insets run between the pelts but the fur is so thick and plush that you don't see them once it is on - they are just there for a touch of structure. It has no collar and the neckline is cut a little wide across the top. Fur hooks are hidden down the front. The pelts are thick and glossy and it looks to have never been worn or worn very little. It is a stunning choice for the girl who believes that vintage fur is a sustainable choice. Excellent condition.
Fully lined in a golden silky rayon and the lining is spotless. Closes with fur hooks down the front. It has been specialty cleaned. Perhaps the teeniest of wear near on the fur at the edges of the cuffs but very minor.

This has a very Bonnie Cashin vibe to it with those fantastic turn key brass closures that run down the front. That little addition of those fabulous details really gives this one an extra shot of style. The jacket has a simple box cut to just past the hip and it is made from a natural red fox. This is the jacket that every 'It girl' of the seventies wanted and wore. The shoulders on this one are soft and rounded and the cut through the body is loose and generous. All of the pelts run horizontally and I love how they all line up across the sleeves and through the body. Taupey leather insets run between the pelts but the fur is so thick and plush that you barely see them once it is on. They are just there for a touch of structure. You do see the leather that runs behind the turn keys at the front and there is a thick band of it used to finish each cuff. Another thick band of it runs up each side and down the insides of the sleeves. The collar is wide and pointed and backed in the same leather. The pelts are thick and glossy and it looks to have never been worn or worn very little. Pockets on each hip are the perfect finish. It is a stunning choice for the girl who believes that vintage fur is a sustainable choice. Excellent condition.
Fully lined in a brown silky rayon and the lining is spotless. Closes with the turnkeys down the front. It has been specialty cleaned. Perhaps the finest bit of wear to the very edge of the back hem but nothing that detracts.

I Have a Question
This hat is by Balenciaga and is an impossible find. I believe is actually from the menswear line from when Nicolas Ghesquière was the Creative Director for the brand. A version of it was worn multiple times by Carine Roitfeld during that season and into the nect and I have spotted her wearing hers even up to the last couple of years.
The hat is made out of a deep green corduroy that is top stitched around the brim. It is intentionally slouchy and soft so very easy to wear and travel with. A dark leather band wraps around the base of the hat and is secured by a black, gold and white enamel disc. It looks to have never been worn or worn very little. Excellent condition
Tagged a brand size 59 and measures 22" around. Lined in a black cotton and finished with an interior grosgrain ribbon.

Lilly Daché was one of America’s most famous milliners. You can barely open a Vogue or other fashion magazine from the years of her heyday without seeing several of her hats in them. She worked under renowned milliners Suzanne Talbot and Caroline Reboux in Paris before moving to America in 1924 where she worked until she could eventually open her own label. At the height of her career she owned a nine story building known as the ‘House of Hats,’ on East 56th Street in New York.
This hat is remarkable similar to the one famously worn by Wilhelmina for Vogue in 1963. It is a slouchy short brimmed fedora style that feels remarkably modern and fresh. The brim is longer in the front then the back and this gives it a bit of a rakish feel. The back brim rolls up slightly which adds to its sauciness. The crown is soft and unstructured and meant to fold in a bit when on. A brown grosgrain ribbon with a flat bow on one side wraps around the base. It is made from a very soft leopard printed pony and it it loos like it has never been worn or worn very little. It is one of the best hats I have seen from this era. Excellent condition.
Measures 21" around and meant to sit a bit higher up ion the head. Lined in a black silk and finished with a grosgrain ribbon edge.

A while ago I sold a beaded Mr Blackwell dress and the girl I got that off of rang me up recently to tell me that she had found its matching, unlabeled coat. It is a great stand alone piece and I immediately grabbed it for the shop.
Richard Blackwell launched his label in the late 1950s and even at that time his pieces sold for between $800 and $1000 (or up to $10,000 in the modern terms). He dressed many of the big stars of the day including Jane Russell, Dorothy Lamour and Jayne Mansfield. I love finding his pieces and this little coat is wonderful. The cut of this coat is simple so that the bead work on it can shine. It is cut with a classic double button front, straight sleeves, and is fairly straight cut through the body with just a suggestion of shape through the waist. It skims over the torso and falls in a slim silhouette to about the knee. The detailing that you see is all created by the application of silver tube beads and little faux pearls. These are all hand placed to create the design that you see. They have a slight raised 3D effect and give the otherwise simple coat a shot of glamour but without being too flashy. Excellent condition with a small note below to review.
Fully lined through the body in an ivory colored silk and closes with the buttons you see at the front. The embellishments are hand placed and sewn. There are the occasional bead missing here and there. Please see the last four photos provided for examples of that. It is very minor. Some minor damage to the lining. Hand finished throughout

I Have a Question
This is a wonderful hip length string coat from the 1970s by the Arissa of France label. Having had version of these in the shop before I instantly recognized it for what it was despite the fact that the original owner cut the label out. It is made entirely from curved set rows of a soft and fluffy cotton string. Many designers have made versions of these coats since, but there is nothing like the original. You will see these pop up fairly often in the truly cropped length that lands above the hip, but the longer ones like this one are harder to find. I have one of these myself and I always look for the longer ones for the shop. I have included photos of the even longer version of it that I have so you can get an idea of how it looks on, but please note that this one would probably land at about the edge, or just above, of the mini dress I am wearing in the shots. The color of the cotton string on this one is a deep ivory/pale beige color that is consistent from top to bottom. Any variations of color in the photos is the lighting only. The cut is loose and easy and it is open down the front with large sized, hidden snaps to close it. It has slouchy pockets on either hip. The inside is unlined and you can clearly see the way the string has been set onto the base and finished. It is meant to be big and slouchy once on so the size is almost irrelevant as they will fit pretty much any size. These can be styled for high, sexy glamour or keep it soft and romantic. These coats can top absolutely anything from jeans to an evening dress, making them an extremely versatile piece to have in your wardrobe. It is a timeless piece of instant glamour and a fabulous alternative to any type of fur, whether it be faux or real. Excellent condition.
Unlined and closed with hidden set, large snaps along the front. The color is consistent and the strings are strong and stable. These were cut to be worn over-sized and slouchy and it will fit a variety of sizes.

From the Spring 1994 collection comes this iconic printed beach towel featuring a mix of some of the most well known items that have come to represent the Chanel brand. The twin of this particular towel was shown on the runway wrapped around Claudia Mason, it also appeared in the Lookbook for that season and was shot for Vogue. The outer border is the soft sea blue color and the back of the towel is white. The background behind the printed parts is the soft pastel pink you see. It is made out of 100% cotton printed terrycloth. Excellent condition with one small snag on the terry cloth that I have photoed and you can see in the last two shots before the reference photos.

This dates to the early 2000s and is a remarkable throwback to the deco era in feel with its amazing large Chanel logo print that runs across the bottom of the towel. Three vintage feeling girls, complete with one piece swimsuits and a variety of head wraps, dive and cavort among those letter. The rest of the towel combines a curving print made of two blues and the famous double Cs and its bordered in a red stripe. The entire back of the towel is white. It is made out of 100% cotton printed terrycloth. Excellent condition with a small amount of normal patina from normal, light wear and washing. Minor marks on the back as seen on the last photo here

From the Spring 2015 collection comes this fabulous little denim mini from Mother denim. With the craze for micro short pieces still going strong it almost feels more relevant now then it did when it came out. The skirt is made from a washed and distressed denim that has a raw cut edge. It has classic front pockets and two back pockets with the M logo stitched on both. It is cut to sit low slung on at the waist and flares out slightly as it nears the hem. When Alexa Chung announced that she was doing a collaboration with AG Jeans, the fashion crowd immediately took notice. When the collection was released the pieces sold out worldwide. This little denim mini was the stand out piece from that capsule. The skirt is in immaculate condition and still has all of its original hang tags and shop return tag attached. It is made from a stretch denim so is extremely comfortable to wear. It closes with a series of snaps down the front, each embossed with the 'Alexa Chung for AG' circling around a little flower. The waist cinches in and then then skirt flares out on an angle from there. Its a very easy to wear and a very fun piece. Excellent condition

I Have a Question
This was a key piece from the 2015 Balmain Resort collection. This collection created a frenzy for the pieces offered and this skirt in particular sold out and was wait listed world wide. I think everyone wanted one and almost every brand out there made a copy of it. The skirt has never been worn so is showroom fresh. It has that curved and fitted cut that Balmain is known for and has the added dimension and texture created by what it is made out of. The denim is heavy distressed denim. This gives the skirt an extra dimension and depth that it would not have otherwise. It is cut to sit high up on the waist and is fitted to hug your hips. At the back is the signature Balmain chunky zipper. The front has pockets on each hip and large gold domed buttons run down each side. It has all its original tags still attached and has never been worn. Excellent condition.

I Have a Question
This cape with its bright turquoise color and all that gold cording is definitely a bold and over the top piece. Which is probably why I love it so much. In person the color is even better and has a touch more of a blue to it than how it photoed. It pops more against the gold. The cape itself is a synthetic jersey and this fabric choice makes it an easy to wear, travel with and care for. It is cut to drape over the shoulders and there is a row of four buttons at the neck. The shoulders have no seams and the cape falls from there in a swing of fabric that widens out as it nears the hem. There are two slits at the front that you can slip your arms through and each is decorated with swirls of the gold braiding. More of the gold detailing runs down the front and all the way around the hem. There is also a lovely pattern of it on either side at the bottom. This cape actually has a hood which makes it even more fantastical. It is also braided around its edge, down the center and a little gold tassel gives it the perfect finish. The back is cut to fall slightly longer then the front. Excellent condition.
Unlined and closed at the neck with fours embroidered buttons and loops. Its open cut should allow it to fit just about any body type.

This was one of the key pieces from the 2015 season and it is brand new with its original tags still attached. It was look 15 on the runway and all of the pieces from that collection with this graphic stripe were sold out and wait listed around the world. The skirt is a slim cut with a smooth fit around the waist and hips. It is meant to sit a little low on the hip so the waist is cut more generously. I love how the stripes are set to highlight the cut of the skirt. He uses two different stripes to achieve the look that you see. The main stripes through the body are a deep black and the stripes that are set around the waist and highlight that amazing and sexy cut out slit at the front are a more charcoal grey. This is a classic and as covetable now as it was when it first hit the racks. Excellent condition.

I Have a Question
The pleating technique that Issey Miyake was to become famous for was begun in pieces produced during the 1980s. They soon became his signature and an integral part of his brand. Part of the incentive behind using pleats in this manner was to give his clothes a sense of ease. He wanted his clothing to have freedom in the way that they moved and for him it was always about the shape of the body rather then the shape of the clothes. That is why the best of his pieces only come to life when they are on and moving along with your own movements. This is a beautiful and earlier piece of his work and the tag style dates it the early 1990s. It has an elastic waist and the skirt falls to about midi length with the hem falling at various lengths once on so that some parts hang slightly longer. The fabric is completely pleated and has a wide blue toned grey stripe worked through it. The stripes have been laid out in different directions and there are also panels worked into the skirt that are set on a curve. This creates amazing movement once it is on. I love how the stripes work together and contrast against the pleating. There is a very generous amount of fabric in the skirt and I would bet that if the skirt was laid out flat and it was un-pleated it would be a full circle skirt. It is fantastic. Excellent condition

This is an incredible belt by Yves Saint Laurent and dates to the time period from when he was creating his famous Russian collection. You can see in the reference photos how this style of belt was used in a variety of colors and finishing details to perfectly set off the collection. This one is a chic cream ivory canvas on a natural leather base combination. It is trimmed with an ivory and gold braiding with long ivory and deep goldr braided ties. At the end of each tie is a knot and a large glossy white bead. It simply wraps and ties at the front and can top just about anything. This is an important piece of fashion history and a rare find. Excellent condition
Marked a brand size 3 and measures 27" from end to end of the actual belt part and then the braided ties extend a 21" on either side. The total length including the ties is 69". The belt itself is 2.5" wide. Perhaps a touch of grubbiness to the braiding but no true flaws

You can see in the reference photos how this style of belt was used in a variety of colors and finishing details to perfectly set off the collection. This one is a wider cut, more dramatic version of the other two that I have in the shop right now. The main belt part of it is made out of a black canvas on a black leather base combination. It is trimmed with a gold metallic flat piping and gold metallic rick rack and then has a long black and gold braided ties. At the end of each tie is a 4" black tassel. The tie part is not attached to the belt so to wear you simply wrap it around yourself and then use the hooks at each end of the belt to hook and tie it at the front. It can top just about anything and its wider width really defines the waist. This is an important piece of fashion history and a rare find. Excellent condition
Marked a brand size 2 and measures 25.5" from end to end of the actual belt part and then the braided tie is 54" long. The belt itself is 3.25" wide. Perhaps a touch of grubbiness to the braiding but no true flaws

This is an incredible belt by Yves Saint Laurent and dates to the time period from when he was creating his famous Russian collection. You can see in the reference photos how this style of belt was used in a variety of colors and finishing details to perfectly set off the collection. This one is a beautiful cool red canvas on a red leather base combination. It is trimmed with a red, white and blue braiding with long red and blue braided ties. At the end of each tie is a knot and a large glossy red bead. It simply wraps and ties at the front and can top just about anything. This is an important piece of fashion history and a rare find. Excellent condition
Marked a brand size 2 and measures 25" from end to end of the actual belt part and then the braided ties extend a 21" on either side. The total length including the ties is 67". The belt itself is 2.5" wide. Perhaps a touch of grubbiness to the braiding but no true flaws

I Have a Question
The Valentina Ltd label was a high end knit wear company that flourished through the 1950s to the 1970s and were known for the elaborate bead and sequin work on soft knits and knit jerseys. They had the bead and sequin work done in Hong Kong, where the best sequin and bead work in the world outside of the specialty ateliers in Paris was being done. This skirt only has its Saks label present but I instantly recognized the patter as I have had a full dress that from the waist down was the exact twin of this skirt.
This skirt is gorgeous and has an elaborate pattern set on a felted jersey knit. This gives the fabric a touch of added texture and it is also soft to the touch. The print covers every inch of the skirt including the 'ribbons' at the bottom hem. To construct this skirt so that the pattern perfectly lines up like this means that the pattern would have had to be all pre-thought out and laid out onto the fabric before cutting. The bead and sequin work is all done by hand and it is added to the fabric to follow and highlight the design underneath. I especially love the elaborate work around the waist band where large turquoise colored discs and rhinestones create a stunning jeweled effect all the way around the waist. Excellent condition with one small note below
Fully lined in a black silk and closes at the back with a painted metal zipper and hook & eye at the waist band.

This feels a little newer and I think its probably a late 1960s piece. It is a spectacular hand painted Mexican circle skirt. These were made by hand for the tourist market and this one is unusual for its longer length since most end just about the knee. The skirt has the most amazing floral print that circles the entire skirt. The design is hand painted onto the cotton and the flowers area combination of a corals, greens and yellows. The effect of those big and gorgeous flowers n the back is amazing. Each flower has been given an extra splash of glamour with hand placed and sewn translucent gold sequins topped with a tiny gold seed bead. A very unusual piece and so easy to wear. The tie waist allows it to fit a variety of sizes too. Excellent condition
Unlined with hand painted designs and hand done sequin work. Ties extend from both sides of the waist and one set wraps and has velcro to hold it in place and the other ties into place. This should allow it to fit a variety of sizes. The shots where it is fuller are the skirt shown over a crinoline that is not included. It looks to have never been used or used very little

I Have a Question
Madame Gres' work has had profound effects on Haute Couture and her influence still resonates to this day. Her attention to detail, master draping techniques and respect for the female form is unparalleled. She was known for designing and creating garments directly on the models and the results were spectacular. She first opened her atelier, La Maison Alix in 1932. A partnership briefly changed the house's name to Alix Barton and then the label went to simply Alix. In 1942 she married, and the label made its last change to became Madame Gres, a partial anagram of her husband's first name, Serge. In 1980 she started a ready to wear line in partnership with designer Peggy Huynh Kinh but by 1983 she took it over in-house so that she had sole control over the entire process. This skirt bears the label produced between 1983 and 1987 and is a rare example of her work during these last few years of her career.
This skirt is utterly fantastic in its own right beyond its historical importance. I am in absolute love with it - the color, the design, the workmanship - everything about it is perfection. Pieces with this label are rare and the beauty of this particular piece really makes it a once in a lifetime find. The fabric is unusual and is a soft woven textile that feels like a mix of silk and maybe a fine wool thread mixed with a silver lame thread. The color is a cinnamon brown with a pattern of black and silver flowers that are woven into the fabric. This lifts them just slightly off the base fabric and adds an extra dimension to the fabric. The main portion of the skirt is cut on in a long and lean line with a band around the waist for added shape and a deep ruffle that circles the lower hem. It comes with its original long suede tie belt that has a large glossy black carved plastic bead to finish each end. The beauty of the color combination is equaled by the fine workmanship that has gone into constructing it. It is really a work of art and in important piece of fashion history. Excellent condition.
Unlined and closes with a painted metal zipper at the waist. Original suede tie belt and an inner hooked waist stay. Pockets along the seam of each hip.

I Have a Question
The laced safari tunic from the 1968 collection remains as one of the holy grail pieces in the vintage world. It was re-issued in several forms during Yves' span as head of his atelier and when Tom Ford took over YSL in 1999, he too did versions of the look in homage to Yves. Countless celebrities have been spotted wearing some version of that first famous tunic over the years, and it is one of the most identifiable of Yves' pieces out there.
This one is very easy to wear as it gives you complete control over how much skin you decide to show behind the lace up front. The front laces all the way down the front and on this version there is a modesty panel that you can fold over and into place to cover the bareness behind the laces. For the photos here that panel is fold back so that you can see that it can also be worn to show skin between the two front edges. If you decide to wear it this way the gap left between the two sides is scandalously sexy. The dress is made from a crisp white cotton mix that has stretch to it. It is very light weight and the stretch in the fabric makes it insanely easy and comfortable to wear. It has many of the same hallmarks of the original tunic made famous when it was photoed on supermodel, Veruschka. It's fabulous. Excellent condition
Unlined and slips on to wear. Two top set flap pockets. Each cuff buttons to close. The modesty panel is attached along one side and folds over into place. Tagged a FR YSL 40. The fabric has some stretch

This is a more recent Louis Vuitton jacket that looks and feels like it was worn very little if at all. It is made out of a single layer of a light weight wool jacket that has the feel and weight of a light blanket. It has two designs to it. Once side is a more even colored ivory tone and the innermost side is more of a check. It is cut to land just at the top of the hips with a slight curve in at the waist so that the flares out a touch over the hips. The sleeves are cut to just past the elbow. The collar is notched and I love how they have used the inner side of the fabric for the collar and to edge the pockets for contrast. This is a more modern version of the classic Pucci bag that has the feel of some of the other bags in this collection but with slightly updated features. This one combines a soft pink with taupe and soft lemon for a pretty nod to the iconic Pucci prints. The fabric is a cotton velvet with matching velvet handles. The shape reminds me of the classic frame bag with soft rounded corners and a curving shape through the body of the bag. It has a top clasp with the Pucci logo embossed onto it and pretty rounded handles that curve up and around from the bag. Excellent condition

I love the softness and prettiness of this Emilio Pucci clutch. This one is perhaps the most romantic of this collection. It is a softer feeling clutch with a slightly less structured body. It is covered in one of his signature floral prints in a mix of soft pinks and greens on a white base. This covers the exterior of the bag and is instantly recognizable as being Emilio Pucci. The body of the bag is a little deeper and it has a pretty curve from the base up to the top. It closes with a gold frame and clasp that is set just down inside the top of the bag. The double set of handles are made from linked gold chains. Excellent condition

The print on this Emilio Pucci bag is so pretty. I love the combonation of the soft pinks with the flowers and the darker anchoring black. The fabric is a bit unusual. It is a silk but has an almost raw silk feel to it. The shape reminds me of the classic bowling ball bag but smaller and definitely more chic. I love how the white frame keeps in line with the pastel feel of the bag. The shape is wonderful. It is a mini frame bag that has soft rounded corners and widens from the elaborate top clasp into a solid little base. This one has one of the most elaborate clasps on it I have seen and it adds a touch of glamour to the bag. Excellent condition
Fully lined in white with one large open pocket and a zippered slip pocket on one side. Closes with the top clasp. The silk shows only minimal wear inherent to normal aging on the exterior and on the interior there are a couple of pen marks but no damage. There are no interior markings but the fabric is signed.

This is an absolutely gorgeous little gem of an Emilio Pucci bag and one of the prettiest ones that I have had. This reminds me of the classic bowling ball bag but smaller and definitely more chic. It is covered in a more angular Emilio Pucci print that has a great combination of citrus and greens. It is done in a velvet which has kept the colors fresh and true. And I love the contrast between the rich velvet and the black leather frame. The shape is wonderful. I love the gold toned clasp that sits atop the frame and the velvet and leather handle is just the right size to balance the bag. Excellent condition

This is perhaps one of the best Emilio Pucci bag and scarf combinations that I have had. Both pieces are done in one of his brilliant signature prints in shades of a pink - coral and other bright colors. It is instantly recognizable as being Emilio Pucci and perhaps one of the most coveted color combinations and prints. The bag is covered in the silk and closes with a gold frame and clasp. This Emilio Pucci clutch bag is gorgeous and is quite large. It is covered in his signature print that has been done in shades of blue and purple that make the exterior of this bag instantly recognizable as being Emilio Pucci. The fabric is his classic velvet and this gives the bag an added texture and makes it wonderful to carry in the hand. It is really two bags in one. There is an attached heavy gold chain that can be tucked in for it to be a true clutch or used to be able to carry it as a shoulder bag. I love the way that strap folds around the bag to close at the front and the simplicity of the gold bar that holds it in place. Its sleek and simple lines still feel modern and fresh. I Have a Question
Loris Azzaro founded his label in 1967 and quickly was dressing women like Raquel Welch, Brigette Bardot, Tina Turner, Liza Minnelli, Sophia Loren, Marisa Berenson and many, many more. Tina Turner in particular was a huge Loris Azzaro fan and ordered a ton of pieces from his atelier that she then wore onstage for numerous appearances. She made this particular style of top an instant iconic piece. In 1973 Audrey Hepburn was also spotted wearing a version of this same top.
There are several variations that Azzaro did of this piece. Some slip over the head and others, like this one, snap to close down the front much like a cardigan/sweater style. This top has the extra bit of rarity in that it is done in a combination of purple and silver. I have not seen another one of these in purple before and I love it. It is made out of a combination of a purple and silver lame that has been crocheted. The knit portions make up the body of the top and then circle each elbow and wrist. The arms between the knit parts are made up of silver and purple aluminum chain link so you get that wonderful open feel. More chains loop all around the cuffs and then finish the hem with a fringe of chains. The use of aluminum was cutting edge at the time and it keeps the top amazingly light in weight. It also allows the chain and fringe to have amazing movement when you move. Made by hand and looks like it has been worn very little if at all. Excellent condition
Unlined and closes at the front with hidden set snaps. The knit has some give. The measurements below are the comfortable range of the give when the top is lying flat.

I adore this fabulous little cape top with its 'feathered' shoulder design and amazing purple color. This is one of those amazing little OOAK pieces you can only find with vintage. These were all the rage during the seventies and they were made in varying degrees of quality. This one is well done and appears to be completely hand made. The silk crepe chiffon base is a deep rich purple color that instantly makes it stand apart from the slew of others you normally see in less vibrant colors. The exterior is densely covered in glossy silver and purple sequins mixed and edged with tiny little faux pearls and tube beads. The shoulders had a pretty design that feels like they suggest feathers and then the sequins run in vertical rows under that. A wider panel of silver beads and sequins follow the curve and shape of the cape all around the edges and neckline. It just slips over the head and is open on the sides. All that glitz adds an instant bit of glamour to anything. The open sides allow it to fit anyone and top anything. The camera does not quite pick up the impact of the silver sequins - it is better in person. Excellent condition.
The cape is fully lined in a purple silk chiffon. It slips on to wear and will fit a variety of sizes. All the sequins are hand applied. Perhaps the occasional missing bead or sequin but no bare spots. The purple color in person is

I Have a Question
The twin of this top in green was featured in the November issue of Vogue magazine. The 1984 collection was especially intricate and the majority of the runway garments were heavily beaded and/or sequinned. This top is from that collection and is one of the heaviest, most densely beaded and sequined pieces I have ever had from him in the shop.
This top is so good in person and has a heavy tactile feel to it that the photos cannot convey. It is gorgeous. The base fabric is a black silk crepe chiffon. Onto this is a dense application of deep pink sequins, silver sequins and silver glass tube beads. These have all been hand applied and individually placed in that curving design that you see. They completely cover the top with not a single inch left uncovered. Parts of the design that follow the silver curving parts have a fringe detailing made out of the tube beads. These add an amazing movement to the top when you move. The top itself is cut loose and easy with a wide boat neck, dolman sleeves and an easy cut through the body. Each sleeve ends in a jagged finish that I love. Excellent condition.
Fully lined in a black silk crepe chiffon and slips on to wear. All the work is done by hand. The easy cut should allow it to fit a range of sizes and would work on a small frame too and just be oversized.

This black velvet great coat with its quilted effect that runs over the surface of the velvet from top to bottom is fantastic. This is the type of coat that the sixties made famous. It has a long and lean line that gives you height. The bodice is cut to be more fitted and closer to the body. At the waist it starts to flare outward and the skirt of the coat is a long A-line. The feeling is that of a Great coat. I love the double row of buttons that run down the front. These add a bit of detailing there. The collar is oversized and cut so that it sits almost shoulder to shoulder when it is done up. The coat is made form a black cotton velvet. This fabric choice helps it to the hold the shape that you see. The velvet is then top stitched with a diamond pattern and there is a layer of padding underneath so it has a bit of a 3D feel. This gives the fabric a depth and texture that really adds to it. The versatility of the black is wonderful. This is definitely a coat for a girl that wants to make an entrance. Excellent condition

I Have a Question
The construction on this coat is wonderful. It is hand made and the tailoring on it is really extraordinary. It's label tells us that is was a custom tailored piece that would have been specialty ordered out of the British Crown Colony of Hong Kong who were doing the best bead work & tailoring in the world during this time period.
The choice of the black silk makes it very easy to wear for multiple occasions. It would have been considered a formal evening piece during its time period but now, a modern girl could wear almost anything with it. It is made from a very high end black silk that has some weight and structure to it. This allows it to keep that wonderful shape that you see. The cut of the coat is very simple and elegant. There is no collar or visible closures on the coat to break the lines of it. Instead it has a series of hidden hook & eye that run down the front and seem almost invisible whether it is closed or open. This highlights just how perfectly the beaded bands at the waist and hem line up to each other where they meet at the front. At the waist and hem there is a wise panel of bead work. Another wide band of the beads also circle each cuff of the sleeves. The beads are glossy black glass tube beads that are all set by hand. An incredible amount of work given that there are literally thousands of them. The sleeves are cut to just above the elbow and the coat is generous through the body. It is very beautiful. Excellent condition with one small note to review below
Fully lined in a fine black silk and closes with hidden hook & eye down the front. It is fairly heavy as the bead work is very thick and extensive but it sits well when on and does not actually feel heavy when worn. Hidden silk lined pockets at the front seams. Hand finished and hand beaded. Light padding in each shoulder under the lining. There is a tiny amount of bead work missing at the front waist on one side. Please see the photo after the label shot.

I Have a Question
Based on the style of the label inside the coat I am dating this to the 1920s or 1930s but it is conceivable that it could be earlier. It is a remarkable piece and so far, I have been unable to find out more about its origins. Regardless of its history as a guard coat (which we know from the label stating just that inside) it is a dramatic and gorgeous coat that has a strong military feel. It is made from a black cotton velvet that has a deep maroon velvet used to highlight the collar and the waist. An ivory cording has been hand applied in swooping curves over the velvet and the pattern is dramatic and fabulous. It highlights the cut of the jacket and the color pops off the black and red. Mixed into the design that is created by the cording are flat silver metal discs that are attached by hand. These are fairly large and really create a statement against the velvet. The buttons are all original and a matching matte silver metal. It is cut fairly straight through the body with a slight flare at the bottom skirting and the sleeves are cut on a curve to follow the shape of the arm. It is wonderful. Excellent condition
Fully lined in a black cotton and in very good antique condition. It buttons to the waist. Some patina to the metal but nothing beyond normal aging. The collar seems to lie slightly off as photoed but this just makes it more unique. This would have been made for a man originally so you should expect it to feel oversized

This vintage Lanvin skirt would have been designed by Belgian-born Jules-Francois Crahay, who headed the Lanvin ateliers from 1964-1984. He has been "noted as one of fashion’s great colorists with his colorful patterns making his 1970s Lanvin designs hugely desirable and influential." His realm is one of my favorites for the house and the period through the late sixties and into the 70s in particular. He was a genius at print and color and he pushed the envelope in terms of using the "new" jerseys available during this time period. This skirt has a boutique label present
This skirt has such a bright mix of color and print. The jersey fabric it is made of was considered one of the new "miracle fabrics" of the day as they gave women the option to wash and wear and travel with pieces that needed little or no ironing once you arrived at your destination. Lanvin began producing pieces from these jerseys in the early 1970s to appeal to their younger, jet set clients and I love when I find great examples of these and this time period in the label's history. The skirt falls to the floor and slightly widens as it nears the hem. There is a band of a more fitted part that wraps around the low waist with a seam under that the the lower part of the skirt is set into. I love the print pop art floral print and that color combo of purple and green with pop so a vivid pink. The skirt feels fuller in person. Excellent condition
Unlined and closes with a painted metal zipper. The waist is set and has no give

I Have a Question
Pieces that were made while Hubert de Givenchy still headed the atelier seem to be even more special to me then ones that are more recent. This skirt is especially gorgeous with its vibrant pink color. In person the pink is even better and more towards the fuchsia side of hue then how it photoed. That bright pink combined with the lightness of the silk organza gives it an especially light, bright, fresh feel. The skirt is made up of two layers. The top layer is cut on the bias cut and is a silk organza. There is so much volume in it I think that if it was laid out on the floor flat it would be a full circle skirt and then some. There are yards of fabric making up that layer. The inner skirt is a tissue silk organza and is a slightly brighter pink then the outer layer so when you do see a flash of it at the hem it gives it a slight color contrast. Presents as excellent condition with some small notes to review below.
Fully lined in a pink tissue silk organza and closes with hook & eye at the waist line and silk covered snaps below that. There are small faded marks to the silk here that you will never see once on as there is so much fabric. The upper edge of the waist shows some thinning of the fabric and some light fading. Minor and once on it is not noticeable This is natural patina for this type of fabric. Please see the last two photos provided. Numbered under the tag edge 14390

I Have a Question
This was one of the stand out coats from the Pre-Fall 2011 Stella McCartney collection and this grey version quickly caught the eye of a lot of women and sold out worldwide. It has a lovely androgynous feel to it with its play on a mans low slung classic double breasted coat. It has slightly sloped shoulders whose slouchy feel is offset but her extension of the shoulder seam so it has a hint of a cap. The cut through the body is oversized through the upper portion and then it narrows down into the hip. A single large pockets sits on one side at the middle of the jacket, like a dropped breast pocket. Hidden pockets also sit along each hip. It is warm and easy to wear. Looks to have been worn very little if at all. Excellent condition.
Fully lined in a black silk textured fabric and closes with the low set double row of buttons at the front. Pockets on each hip. Tagged a modern 40 but cut to feel more oversized. Please know your size in her line or make sure to check the measurements below.

I Have a Question
This top by Todd Oldham is fantastic and one of the most striking pieces from his time period as a designer. It has that great tongue in teeth feel that so much of his work had. It is kind of like the New York society girl's, nineties answer to western wear. It has a great faux wood print that covers the silk and onto that as sweet little roses scattered everywhere. At the back is a framed portrait of a horse against a blue sky backdrop with perfect clouds floating by. I love the coiled brass buttons that circle little black drops. It has french cuffs and its original cuff links that match the buttons down the front and are a larger more elaborate version of those. It is meant to be oversized and easy to wear. Excellent condition
Unlined and buttons to close at the front as shown. French cuffs with the orignal hand made cuff links. Tagged a S and meant to be oversized so should fit a variety of sizes.

This is a very very rare example of the work of Ossie Clark and one you will not see very often. It is a fabulous sweater and I think I have seen less then 1/2 a dozen of his knit pieces over the last 20 years. Its insanely good on top of it's rarity. It has that nod to the 40s that runs through so ,much of his work. it is a light knit with a slight ribbing. The neck line is cut into a V and the body cut long and it flares slightly as it nears the bottom hem. The sleeves are amazing and they are each cut extra long and have a definitive flare when they reach the cuffs. This makes them fabulous on and they create lots of movement. It has a matching belt that picks up on the grey part of the rust and grey stripes on each shoulder. That same striping finishes the ends of each sleeve too. Excellent condition with the exception of the belt buckle.
Unlined and slips on to wear. Tagged a vintage size Small. The knit does have some stretch. The belt buckle is cracked as shown. It still functions and is original so is sold as found. Its such a rare piece this barely effects the value. Please review the photo after the label shot.
