Amazing, early North Beach Leather set is entirely hand stencilled by the infamous Ken Fung. Highly detailed in roses run across the shoulders and down the jacket and along each leg of the pants. The pants are utterly fantastic - the sit low on the hip and have an incredible sailor pant button flap front closure. Heavy whip stitching runs along every seam. The pants have a killer flare and are simply sut at the bottom. The jacket is also whipstitched by hand and cut to perfection. Both pieces are made form fabric weight bleached deer skin - truly a work of art! North Beach leather made pieces by hand for clients like Elton John, Elvis and a myriad of music super stars. Their pieces were hugely collectible and very expensive. Excellent condition with natural patina!
I Have a Question
This is the twin of a dress I have had in the shop before and I am happy to be able to show the original one I had on Dee Hilfiger who purchased the first one and wore it to the CFDA awards and for her feature in the book 'Takes of Endearment'. It is a pleasure to find a second one and this one is in as pristine shape as the first one was.
The dress is by the Kiki Hart label that was based out of New York. They were known for producing high end garments that had a touch of detailing to them. They had a reputation for their fabric choices and used higher end fabrics. This dress is a wonderful example of that. The fabric used for it is a spectacular metallic silk brocade. The base is a bright pink that has a silver and gold thread pattern woven through it. Placed into that are a scattering of rhinestones that give the entire dress even more of a sparkle then the metallic fabric underneath creates. To balance the impact of the fabric the design itself is kept simple. It is sleeveless and the neckline cut in a simple scoop. It is more fitted through the upper bodice and then falls in a column over the bust, widening out as it skims past the waist. It continues to widen out as it nears the floor giving it a chic A-line cut. The fabric choice helps it to hold that refined shape. It has only vertical seams so that there is nothing to break the lines of the dress. I love that it has hidden pockets along the front seams. It is magical. Excellent condition.
Fully lined in a pink silk and closes at the back with a metal and nylon zipper. Pockets along the front.

I Have a Question
The La Mendola label is highly collectible and sought after. The duo behind the label met in Rome in 1960 and started their business making dresses and selling them piece by piece. In 1967 they opened a shop and women like Elizabeth Taylor and Rita Hayworth that were buying and even wait listing for pieces as they were produced.
Here we have an early piece by them that is made from a beautiful light wool jersey. It is cut into a loose and easy shape that flows out from the shoulder to almost caftan proportions. The design is a beautiful mix of blues and green with pale pops of a soft lavender. It has a simple cut with an undefined waist, a scooped neckline and long bell cut sleeves. It is a larger cut piece so will fit a range of sizes easily. I love how it covers the body completely and how the fabric drapes and skims over your curves so it is still sexy. It really has a lot of fabric through the body of the piece and widens out as it nears the hem even more. In person you get more of a feel of volume when you move. You could easily belt and cinch in the waist for more shape. The length is supermodel long at 64" from shoulder to hem. It is an amazing piece. Excellent condition with a small note below
Unlined and closes at the back with a painted metal zipper. The bias cut stretch fabric and forgiving design of the dress will allow it to work on a range of sizes. I have given the measurements at a comfortable stretch lying flat but the fabric does have stretch beyond them a touch even. There are a couple of tiny repairs that are only apparent from the back

How absolutely gorgeous is this dress? The silk itself is amazing - a luxe bias cut silk chiffon that has a custom screening of a leopard print from top to bottom. The bias cut gives the silk lots of movement and it has a fantastic floaty feel to it - light and air which is the perfect balance to the animal print. The skirt is very full with lots of fabric but lies quite nice and sleek when you are still. The bodice has a high rolled neckline and the sleeves are long and lean. It is interesting to note that even the sleeves are lined in the same silk crepe that rest of the dress is - this is an extra step and most designers skip it to save fabric - it is really a sign of the care and thought out into the piece. A very long, 90" silk sash is still present and you can wrap and tie this as you wish! Excellent, unworn condition. Item# DD767
This may not be a big designer name but what it lacks in pedigree it more then makes up for in style. I absolutely adore it and is is very chic and easy to wear. It is made from a mid-weight nylon feeling fabric that will move and travel very well and really resists wrinkling. This has been printed with an exotic leopard print whose pattern follows the lines of the dress to add length. It has a very simple cut with long sleeves and a shift cut that leaves the waist open and loose. You just slip it on, zip it up and go. I love the big frog knot detailing that runs along one shoulder and sits atop the slit at one side. The sleeves are cut wide and each is finished with a piped trimming above the wide cuff. Excellent condition

I love this bold, yet feminine Lilli Diamond Maxi dress! The cut, the design, that fabulous ruffled neck all work perfectly together. Constructed from a slightly starched cotton-linen mix custom screened fabric in a dramatic black and white floral design. The actual cut of this dress is actually quite simple - the sleeveless, halterneck bodice skims over the bust and then nips in at the waist. The full length skirt flares out in a full A-line. But turn around and the back has been scooped out entirely with a dramatic ruffled edged bareness. This same ruffle continues around the neck. The original tie belt cinches the waist. It's a stunner and in excellent condition! Item# DD868
The label on this wonderful little bit of history dates it to the mid-sixties. Lilly Pulitzer is infamous for having dressed Jackie Kennedy during the summer months and her bright colored, happy little shifts were favorites of Hampton society girls too! Her dresses are bright and fresh and the early ones always incorporated lace details. This one does just that with an applique of lace at the neck and detailing that one top placed pocket on one hip! The dress is fresh and modern still and has a completely summer innocence to it. It is also a great larger, wearable size and in mint condition. Just a terrific dress to throw on and go all summer long.

Very unusual Lilli Diamond piece that is a terrific larger size! The main dress is a fitted sheath with that pretty soft blue and grey floral printed chiffon over a white base. The shoulders are gathered at the front and this same technique is carried across the neckline too. It gives it a pretty feminine touch that I love. The back is really the wow part of this one though - two dramatic panels of chiffon swoops out from the scooped back neckline and down to just past the hem of the dress. These have miles of fabric and are really something when this is one a real girl who adds movement† - they move with her! Fabulous condition - it appears unworn.
I Have a Question
The Lucie Ann label was one that produced mainly lingerie but in the 1960s and 1970s that diversified ad produced a small line of more hostess style clothing pieces. You don' see these as often but when you do they are usually pretty great. They have this almost campy, Hollywood starlet--entertains-at-home feel to them and this great little caftan dress is a perfect example of just that. It is a bit of a rarity and quite fabulous and just plain fun. I was pretty excited to find it. It is made out of a silky rayon twill that is the same weight that a scarf from this time period would have been made out of. The print is gorgeous with a brilliant orange for the sleeves and most of the skirt and then a blue based print contrasting on the bodice and used all the way around the bottom of the skirt. The sleeves are full with a loose set elastic at each cuff. The bodice is more fitted and and the waist is seamed. Under that the skirt falls to the floor in a widening curve. It is very light weight and easy to wear. Excellent condition.
Unlined and closes at the back with a painted metal zipper. Elastic in each cuff that is set loose and wide

This dress came to me in its original unworn state and is so new looking it could have been pulled from a rack yesterday! A classic wiggle silhouette it is seamed to fit and follow your every curve. The skirt is long and lean and has a little kick pleat at the back but no real opening as to not ruin the line. The waist is formed through vertical seaming and runs up into the bodice which is just wonderful! Flattened satin piping has been taken and draped from slanted seaming on either side of the bust and crossed over to create that fantastic bust detailing! The shoulders are made of this same piping and please look at the close-ups closely - you will see that the shoulder piping actually lines with with where the piping n the bust is set! Amazing the attention to detail then. Really a fabulous piece† and in immaculate condition.
I love these Malcolm Starr pieces - they are little works of art and really the best of the whole sixties arts and crafts movement. With the current trend back to maxis they also seem even more relevant. There is something shockingly fresh about wearing an elaborate and colorful maxi skirt with a chic modern top and shoes. This one is the classic merry go round skirt with its lovely felt applique riders circling the entire skirt. Gold braid highlights the design and a variety of fabrications are used to create the design. The riders literally pop off the skirt with their little 3D accents! An amazing combination of color and textures its in wonderful condition!
This one is the classic Ringmaster skirt and depicts the classic animals of the circus with the big top colors all around. Lions, panthers - all the bog cats are represented and made of felt and faux fur - all in 3d! An amazing combination of color and textures its in wonderful condition![
This Malcolm Starr silk gown is absolutely stunning. The color is a touch softer then how it presents in the photos and actually works better that way! It has an air of refinement and elegance to it through the combination of the silk and the thick panels of beading. The dress its self is a simple cut - an almost sculptural collar set so that where it meets the top of the dress it as almost right angles out to the arm holes. The body of the dress is a simple sheath that skims the body to the ground with a slight A-line. Beautiful ribbons of organza are beaded, sequined and covered in rhinestones and then set in vertical bands from the top of the bust to below the knee. The encircle the entire dress and add a wonderful glint and sparkle to it! Wonderful piece and in excellent condition!
This is a fantastic and beautiful early 1960s dress by Oscar De La Renta! It is shockingly light - I know it looks like it should not be with all that insanely fabulous gold - at first glance it appears to be a brocade, but the fabric is actually a light weight silk georgette, through which gold thread has been worked in so that the entire piece glows. The design on the fabric is glorious - corals, reds and even shots of pink are set against a black backdrop. The collar is pointed and chic and the front has a sexy V. The skirt is amazing - big squares of gold top a bold patterned hem. Current Oscar De La Renta pieces can fetch many thousands so buying a vintage piece is a excellent alternative and a smart investment move as well. The original belt is present and both pieces appear to be unworn. Excellent condition

This is the twin of a dress I have had before and I was so pleased to have it again as it is absolutely beautiful! It is cut to follow and sculpt the bodice with beautiful curved seaming and a high panel around the waist that emphasises both the waist and the bust line. The skirt is quite full and lovely even without a crinoline as shown! The fairly simple cut is completely off-set by the spectacular fabric. It is a rich metallic brocade with a garden of flowers and butterflies flitting across its surface. Each of the flowers has a slight puff appearance and its not until you look underneath that you realize that those blue flowers are each backed with extra fabric so they have a slight "lift" effect from the front. The colors are rich and true and the added outline with gold thread give it a bit of extra pop. Hidden pockets tucked under a soft fold on each side of the skirt are the perfect finish! A stunning piece. Excellent condition!

Unlined but with ribbon finished inside seaming and a silk satin wide panel of fabric set around the inside neck, upper back and arms for comfort. It closes with a back painted metal zipper. I chose not to photo it with a crinoline under but you could add a light crinoline and get a very full round shape. The blue is bluer and the greener a less olive in person then how it photographed! The zipper of course closes completely on the proper size girl

This is an amazing little dress with a micro mini length skirt and matching jacket. It is so rare to find these anymore - they where worn to death and this length was crazy popular but for a blip in time only before longer lengths prevailed once again. Because younger girls took to the micro mini craze many of the dresses were also less expensive and made of synthetics. This little beauty is bright silk and printed with a wildly mod print, The dress is sleeveless and just slightly nipped in at the waist and the skirt has a little side pleat detail with a flat bow that sits just atop it. The jacket is kept simple and sweet and is perfectly made and well constructed. It is gorgeous! Excellent condition and an iconic example of the sixties!
This is a really amazing sculptural mod piece from Geoffrey Beene in the most amazing orange linen look fabric! The color alone is to die and that, combined with the cut just knocks you out! The shoulders are rounded and end in the most interesting slanted, angular cut. The bodice runs skim and then the skirt flares out cleverly from hidden pleating. At each side along the seam there is actually a inverted pleat that allows the skirt to have quite a bit of fabric. Another sits under the buttons - but when worn these all look like smooth panels. Little pockets also hide under the side pleats so you can tuck your hands in to further emphasize that fantastic shape. Really a killer piece. Note that thought the measurements seem generous the cut is deceptive and this will work best on a girl who is a smaller size. The mannequin is a 4-6 and it is not pinned or clipped. Excellent condition.
I Have a Question
I have had a version of this dress in the shop just recently and I was very pleased to find another so soon. I absolutely love the dramatic mix of color with the metallic thread. The combination of that bold red mixed with the floral pattern that covers and the shots of gold thread make it quite a stunning piece. It is constructed from a beautiful crepe silk chiffon that gives it a very light feel once on the body. The red silk bodice skims the torso with a high neckline. The sleeves are left unlined with a red silk at the top and then a billowing pouf of the black silk that is caught up at the wrist with an elastic. The skirt flows from the waist to the floor and the top layer of chiffon floats over the inner layer tissue silk lining - giving it a wonderful light and romantic feel. The skirt is the same black silk as the bottom of the sleeves and I love the contrast this creates. The entire dress is covered with a floral print and the fabric has a gold metallic thread worked through it from top to bottom. Excellent condition condition with a small note below to review
Fully lined in red through the bodice and black through the skirt with the sleeves unlined. It closes with a back painted metal zipper and hook & eye at the back of the collar. Each cuff has elastic through the cuff. I see what looks like a small repair to the chiffon under each arm. Both seem stable and well done. Please review the photo after the label shot

A stunning and wonderful design from the infamous Biba is the perfect British mix of saucy, sexy and girl next door. The fabric is classic black moss crepe. It is cut in classic sixties style with a short hem that slightly flares out! The sleeves are wickedly wild - they are long and have an elastic at each cuff that sits just above a full ruffle. They are meant to pouf slightly above the wrist and then that cuff is an extravagant finish. A V neck with a bit of a collar on each side and high shoulders are the perfect finish. It is am amazing original Biba piece that is extremely collectible and infinitely wearable. A real treasure of a find and in excellent condition! Item# DD879
I Have a Question
Richard Blackwell launched his label in the late 1950s and even at that time his dresses sold for between $800 and $1000 (or up to $10,000 in the modern terms). He dressed many of the big stars of the day including Jane Russell, Dorothy Lamour and Jayne Mansfield. His 'custom' line was the pieces that were made to order, and were one of a kind pieces that were fitted to a specific client in the couture tradition.
This dress is from the custom part of his atelier and is a wonderful example of his work. It is a wonderful dress and rarely do such fine examples of this time period, and with this level of glamour, come to market anymore. This comes directly from the original client who kept it on pristine condition. The cut is simple but dramatic because of the amazing front inset and embellishment. The dress is cut in a simple, long sheath black sheath and the black is a medium weight wool crepe jersey so it holds the intended shape very well and gives the dress structure without having to have a lot of seaming. The sleeves are long and straight. The dress skims over the torso and glides into a touch of shape at the waist. It then falls to the floor in a column that gently widens as it nears the hem below that. The front of the dress has a nude silk inset that is backed by an opaque silk so it gives the illusion of being see-through from a distance but you are entirely covered. This is then densely covered in an angular pattern created by hand placed large glass crystal rhinestones, clear seed beads and rows of faux pearls. They have a raised 3D effect and give the otherwise simple dress a high level of glamour. The illusion that it is slit to below the hips adds a touch of sexiness despite the wearer being completely covered. It is amazing. Excellent condition.
Fully lined through the body in a nude colored silk with the sleeves left unlined. It closes with a back, hand set, painted metal zipper. The embellishments are hand placed

With the trend towards brights and neons this is the perfect find. It is so fresh and modern looking I almost thought it was a new dress that was just a vintage knock off. I was delighted upon closer inspection to find the Nat Kaplan label tucked inside! It is a simple cut - almost sheath dress, but with seaming at the waist so it avoids being too tubular. The simplicity of the cut allows the color to really pop and take center stage. A slight rolled neckline is a pretty detail and it lands just at the knee. Excellent, unworn condition.
This dress is an unusual combination of a few thoughts that oddly seem to work. The bust is been heavily beaded - thousands and thousands of tiny seed beads cover every bit of fabric in the top and make that almost camouflage looking pattern. The neckline is cut high and attaches front to back high up on the top of the shoulder, while the arm holes curve down - this gives it a slight halter top feel. The waist cinches in and is emphasized by a wide black sating sash which is original to the dress. The skirt is very full and shockingly light. It has a silk interior over which a lace net has been applied and then looped gold detailed ribbon swirled over. Very unusual and pretty - no designer label other them the one Neiman Marcus used on the late 50s through the mid sixties. Excellent condition.
I love the classic cut of this suit with it's box jacket and slim pencil skirted dress. And I could go on for days about the fabric! It is rich and luxe and amazing!† Really one of the best example of silk and textiles of this period I have seen! The dress is a slim cut simple shift that is cut to skim over your curves. It is refined and graceful and the color is perfection. I love the coppery pink thread mixed with silvers that is woven into the soft green silk back drop. The colors pop off each other and it just adds to the rich feel of the set. The jacket is classic box cut but with wonderful details like that wide band at the bottom back and the fabric covered buttons. It is simplicity mixed with a masterful seaming and cutting and extraordinary fabric. This is from the Custom line to the equivalent of a a made to order one step under couture piece! Excellent condition and a true beauty
This is an amazing couture, numbered piece from the house of Balmain! It is an exceptional example of day wear for the period and immaculately constructed. The exterior is a black silk crepe wool - very fine and light and that is lined in the highest quality silk that feels amazing against the skin - it is so sensual and soft feeling. All the interior work is by hand and the lining and zipper are hand set. Each of the two buttons on the cuffs are hand covered in a matching fabric and the buttonholes are properly finished even though you do not really see them! I love the front detailing - it is a red, black and white boucle that has been set in a strip down the front and around the neck. Each cuff has the same treatment. The neckline is high and the skirt flares out in a gentle A-line so the illusion is of height and leanness. Understated but refined. It is an exceptional piece. Excellent condition.

A rare and wonderful find, this is am amazing numbered haute couture suit by Pierre Balmain. Everything about it is a showcase to what you get when attention is paid to every last detail. The dress is beautifully cut and has a unique double zipper. Just the process of zipping and snapping everything perfectly into place makes you feel like you are wearing something really special. The bodice is a deep blue and kept simple. Long refined sleeves, a high neck and a body that skims over your curves. The skirt has an extra layer of fabric inside so that it retains its shape and hangs perfectly. It is lined in the finest, softest silk that feel wonderful against the skin. Both the skirt and jacket are custom, hand screened in a check that highlights the blue has just enough pop to it to keep the ensemble from being staid. I love the top set pockets. Both pieces are tagged and both tags have handwritten numbers under each label. The original belt is present. Note the perfection of how even the button lines up with the pattern of the fabric! It is a testament to couture and the set is in excellent condition. Item# DD760
This would have been done while Hubert de Givenchy led the Givenchy House and is a couture, numbered piece! It is an exceptional example of day wear for the period and immaculately constructed. The exterior is a deep rust knit jersey - cutting edge fabric of the day - and that is lined in the highest quality silk hand dyed to match the color. All the interior work is by hand and the lining and zipper are hand set. I love the subtle sexuality of the back buttons and hidden snaps lie between each so that no matter how you move they keep perfectly in place. The neckline is high and no seams break the line of the bodice - they just sleekly turn into the slightly dolman sleeve. The skirt is set with a slight gather and the curve of the seam ever so gently curves downward so the illusion os of height and leanness. Understated but refined is is an exceptional piece. Excellent, unworn condition.

Guy Laroche began his fashion career under Jean Desses in 1949 and just under ten years later he opened his own house in 1957. He made extraordinary pieces of couture and this dress is one of them and an earlier sixties example of his work. It is stunningly constructed and in museum quality condition. It is also a wonderful example of the mod baby doll look that swept the fashion world at the time and still feels fresh even now. A testament to how great design stands the test of time! An inner dress made of a good quality black silk crepe gives the wearer the feeling of some inner structure. The exterior however is all fabric and extravagance. On, it is much fuller and has much more movement then how it photos. It is cut on the bias so naturally flares out from the body. The hem is finished in a† tiny strip of back velvet so it is weighted properly. I love the tuxedo bib front and the matching cuffs. The buttons are glass pearls, each in a metal base. It is sixties supermodel once on! A fabulous piece and in excellent, museum quality condition. Item# DD814
An amazing piece of fashion history this 1960s Courreges coat would have been a technical marvel at the time. All the fabric used would have been cutting edge. The exterior is a nylon, lightweight fabric in a deep brown. Inside is a faux sheepskin shearling that is used for both additional warmth and as a design element and color contrast. The zippers are custom and absolutely huge and fabulous! It zippers at the front and has a hood that you can wear up or down. I love the four pockets on the front and how they are placed to emphasize the cut of the coat. The Courreges logo sits on the chest so there can be no doubt of its origins when worn! Excellent, museum quality condition! Item # C182
This is classic Courreges and I love the bright orange color! The silhouette of this screams that it is a Courreges and it an iconic and still highly wearable piece! From the Hyperbole line it has that classic sculptural silhouette. It would have been worn layered over one of his turtlenecks or mesh tops that were all sold separately but meant to mix and match but works equally wonderfully as shown for a modern girl. The straps are bold and I love the matching hued buttons on the front and back. The zipper is hidden along a back side seam so it seems to have no seams at all! Two pockets are similarly and cleverly hidden along the front seams. The skirt is cut on an A-line and the entire thing a masterpiece of cut and construction. Iconic and in excellent condition!
Such a great party dress that has a feminine Valentino vibe to it. A semi sheer organza in black has a slight metallic sheen to it. The sleeves are left unlines and each ends in a pretty ruffle. I love how the front scoops in towards the waist adding to the curvy bombshell feel. The ruffles go all the way around the neck and down and around the hem with panels set under to give the illusion that these overlay an inner dress.† I am normally not a huge bow fan but this one has a pretty flat bow nestled amongst the ruffles at the waist for the perfect final touch! Excellent condition and a really terrific piece!
This was sold to me by my client as an unlabeled Oscar De la Renta. Since I have had its almost twin in the past I have absolutely no reason to doubt that this is indeed and Oscar. It has not tags however so is priced based on being the fabulous little dress that it is! A wonderful golden orange metallic brocade is used to construct this little beauty. The top portion is simple with pretty seaming details and no sleeves. The skirt lands just above the knee and has a pretty amount of fullness to it. The original belt allows you to nip in the waist as much as you please. I love the color and the silhouette - it seems exactly right for the mood at the moment and the subtle gold glint is killer! Excellent condition.
An Ossie Clark dress is always a fantastic find and you cannot go wrong with a basic black in his most classic of dress shapes! It has his signature over-sized dog ear collar and a row of fabric covered buttons that are set to show just a hint of skin even when fully buttoned. The sleeves are fantastically full and billow out until they are cinched in at the buttoned tight, skinny fit cuffs. The Moss crepe is cut on the bias so the drape is perfect. The dress has and yards and yards of moss crepe fabric that cascades and swishes around the knees when you move. A great slightly larger size that you can wear loose or belt! Excellent condition!
Gorgeous pale sea green knit top is classic sixties chic! This is an exceptional example of the little sequin piece and a modern girl could work it into her wardrobe by pairing it with unexpected fabrics or cuts (cargoes & sequins anyone?) A pale aqua green knit is topped with iridescent sequins and then a tightly spaced beaded design works its way down the front in fabulous scalloped dollops! A fabulous row of dangling, strung beaded fringe creates movement all around the bottom hem! Excellent condition and a show stopping color!
These where all the rage back in the sixties. They are the original "green" movement clothing - made of paper that has been worked so it has a almost thin, felt like feel, these where actually meant o be worn, washed by hand once or twice and then disposed of when they fell apart. Which is exactly what girls did, hence their rarity. I have a couple to share and this one is a lovely shift in bold pop art mod colors! Blues, greens and pinks mix with yellow and white. The neck and arm are piped in a baby blue fabric and I love the big bold pocket on the front. It was found folded in its plastic bag as pictured and only removed to be measured and photoed. Excellent condition!

This rare Pat Sandler dress is one of the best mix of prints I have ever seen. The colors make you think of far off wild exotic destinations where you can pair this with leather sandals and gooff n exotic adventures. The top has a deep V in both the front and back and the sleeves are left unlined so are just slightly sheer and are cut to flare out at the wrists. The fabric is a semi-sheer cotton silk voile so the piece does not weigh much but retains its shape when worn. The skirt is slightly full and the colors are bright and vibrant - deeper and richer then how it has photoed. Seriously fabulous and in excellent condition!
When I first saw this I thought it was a Yves Saint Laurent - it has that look and feel and the fabric is on par. Its a stunning piece that blends a woven cotton with a beautiful shade of pink highlighted by a soft lavender. This is then shot through with a gold thread striping to give it just a hint of glitz. The neckline and cuffs have a band of gold piping. The waist has a pretty sash of pink silk chiffon and a lavender silk look ribbon - so pretty and feminine! I love the soft draped top - it is very blousey and full with a somewhat wide set neck so you get a sexy peek of collar bone. The skirt is amazing - it is tightly knife pleated for about 4 inches starting just about the hip and then these softly expand and the skirt cascades to the ground in a full sweep. Just an absolutely gorgeous piece that is charmingly feminine mixed with hippie chic! Excellent condition.
