This sixties coat is really unusual. The base fabric is a thicker cotton mix that has an almost canvas like feel to it but with a smooth texture to it, not the rough weave of a true canvas. Its a deep deep blue. Onto this are rows of little yellow ducks done is folk art fashion and in rows from tops to bottom. These are done with stitched embroidery work and add a pretty pop of color against the blue. Its cut to just below the knee and though it would be a shame to loose a row of those cute little ducks it would look fantastic shortened too! It has a matching fabric belt and even it has the embroidery work on it. I love the collar - it's rounded and pleated at the base to form it to go around the neck. It's a pretty feminine touch. Excellent condition.

This great vintage skirt by Emilio Pucci instantly makes you think of summer with its happy citrus color combination. It is deceptively simple in cut, and that simplicity is deliberate, allowing the beauty of that custom screened cotton to shine. The colors are pure happiness - a mix of yellows, corals, greens and pinks, all edged in fine black line and signed throughout with that famous Pucci signature. The cut is done so that there is one extra wide pleat panel of fabric that runs down the front. It is made of a thicker twill weight cotton which allows it to hold its shape when on. His signature borders finish the waist and hem. Excellent condition
Unlined and closes with side zipper and hidden hook & eye on the waistband. In person the colors of the skirt feel like more of a pastel overall, a touch softer and prettier then how it photoed

This fabulous Emilio Pucci for Formfit Rogers caftan robe is completely wearable as a dress, or it could be a chic beach cover up. Originally this would have been meant as a lingerie piece but a modern girl could definitely make it a part of her day or evening wear. The loose and easy cut is so flattering on so many figures. The nylon jersey flows perfectly from a dramatic, wide, square cut collar with his signature, contrasting edges. The sleeves are huge and full with a wide, almost kimono feel cut. The same contrasting design that you see all around the the collar is also used on the cuffs and hem for maximum impact. The nylon is fluid and soft and it weighs mere ounces. It is really a beautiful example of Pucci's masterful touch with color, pattern and cut. A real collectible and in the EPFR world, a real rarity. Excellent condition.

I Have a Question
This Emilio Pucci dress is particularly wonderful with its pretty pink & coral floral print that pops off of the black silk jersey base. The dress is made out of one of his classic silk jerseys that has that gorgeous floral pattern screened onto the fabric. At this point in the Pucci history, Emilio himself would have been creating the prints for his dresses so it is truly like wearing art. The dress has an easy to wear cut to it. The bodice skims over the bust and waist, curves over the hips and ends in a simple cut skirt. As with all his best pieces, his use of a contrasting border highlights both the cut and line of the dress. The neckline, cuffs and hem are all accented by a contrasting white and floral border. A border band of that same print also runs down the center back of the dress. The sleeves are cut long with a slight bit of volume over the cuffs. This is a classic Pucci silhouette that is instantly recognizable and very sexy once on an actual body despite not being super form fitting and clingy. I love all the contrasting print panels that give the cut visual definition and the colors all pop against each other beautifully. Excellent condition.

I Have a Question
I am always thrilled to find a really great Emilio Pucci piece. The truly great ones are getting very hard to find and this one is exceptional. By the 1960s, the time period that this set is from, Pucci was a world-wide phenomenon. Hollywood stars like Marilyn Monroe, Sophia Loren and even Jackie Kennedy were huge fans. For all of the many attempts since to catapult the label back to the height of its glory, the days when Emailio himself oversaw the label and designed the prints will always be the most special to me.
This is one of the prettiest Pucci sets I have ever had in the shop. It is a gorgeous combination of a blues with a white mixed through the pattern on the silk. These colors are combined in a striking design that sweeps over both pieces. It also has the advantage of being two pieces which allows you to mix and match it with pieces you already own, or wear it together to get the appearance of wearing a proper dress. As is typical in a Pucci piece, he has used bands of a different printed silk to define the waist and hem on the skirt and also the cuffs of the top. On this set those borders are pretty little curving circle flourishes rather than the typical geometric print that his borders are usually finished with. This adds to the soft and feminine feel it has. The cut is very flattering. Each sleeve is cut wide and fill so that it has a wonderful fullness and airiness to it above its cuffed wrist. The neckline is softly scooped and sits wide across both the front and back neck. If you are slim through the shoulders it will have an bit of an off-shoulder feel to it even. The body of the top is cut to be loose and easy. On the skirt, the waist is defined by printed silk band. From there the skirt flares out to the floor in a gradually widening line and the skirt is quite full by the time it reaches the floor. I love how it is cut so that is falls in soft folds and gets more movement and fullness as it nears the hem. It is very feminine but sexy at the same time. I absolutely love it. Excellent condition
Fully lined in a pale blue silk chiffon. The top slips on to wear and closes at the back with a painted metal zipper and hook & eye at the waist band. Each cuff snaps to close with fabric covered, hidden snaps. Note that the color is prettier in person and more towards a cornflower blue

This fantastic Courreges caftan/smock dress is similar to ones I have had before, but this one is a very fine ribbed velvet corduroy. Black matte silk panels sit at each shoulder and fantastic top stitched edges run down the front where they are crossed by that belt if you choose to wear it that way. You can also wear it loose and easy. Front pockets are highlighted by the same treatment as the collar, cuffs and shoulders. Notched sides allow for easy of movement and an extra flash of leg. Super easy to wear and a bold statement piece. Marked a vintage Courreges 00 but meant to be oversized when worn without the belt. The belt has the Courreges logo embroidered at one end! Mint condition!
This is a super dress by Fred Perlberg. It is a simple silk sheath with the waist nipped in and a long lean skirt. The bodice is cut with a nice plunge silhouette and the sleeves are simple and long. I love how all the edges have a tighter panel of sequins going in the opposite direction. It is a nice touch to highlight and add some texture and interest to the piece. The sequins have a pearled iridescent quality so the dress has a nice glow without being overwhelming. A slit on the leg adds a bit of flash when you move. Hand finishes and a piece that really works once one a real girl! Excellent condition.
Insanely cool fringes deerskin original 1960s leather piece will make the most dramatic statement! Its hand made and whip-stitched and constructed form a ivory leather - smooth on the exterior and left raw on the interior. Its cut sheath style with the edging and neckline hand whip-stitched. From the hem and the shoulder the most dramatic and wonderful fringe hangs- a full 18" worth! A V neck on both front† and back pick up the V shape of the bottom fringe. It's tiny and has no openings - so the lucky girl that gets this as to be a 0 or a size 2 at most. This is a piece that the right girl will absolutely rock and be the centre of attention in! Excellent condition.
This wonderful little dress is a testament to the greatness of James Galanos, who was one of the great American Couturiers. Galanos made couture-level dresses and the level of craftsmanship to them that left France’s most esteemed couturiers with their mouths agape. The immaculate construction of a Galanos piece oozed luxury, privilege, and high society (with price points to match). He was a master cutter and he used couture techniques in his work. Here he uses a fine and lightweight silk chiffon. Every detail on it is perfect and every seam is placed to ensure that the dress falls and sits properly once on and that it will flatter the person wearing it. It is extremely light and has a 'floating' feel to it and yet, at the same time it still feels like a properly constructed couture level garment. The fabric is a fine silk chiffon that is knife pleated through the front of the dress, and on the sleeves, with meticulously matched pleat-work. It is cut with a straight line through the body and then this slightly flares out at the hem with the opening of the pleats. The sleeves are fantastic with each of them done in the same knife pleating technique as the front of the dress. The back is a smooth panel of silk chiffon so the shape does not get too voluminous. The perfect final touch are the large, black crystal rhinestone encrusted dome buttons that run down the front of the dress and sit on each cuff. They are the perfect bit of glitz and glamour to offset the refined elegance the dress has. It is an amazing original Galanos piece that is beautifully made. Excellent condition.
Remarkably I believe that this dress has four full layers of silk chiffon in its make up through the body. The sleeves are unlined, but you only see through them when the pleats move slightly to give you a glimpse of the more sheer parts because of the way the pleats are constructed. It buttons to closes down the front and each cuff has a button. Lots of couture level details and high end finishes.

A gorgeous Geoffrey Beene dress with an amazing print and cut! The bodice is fitted and lean with long sleeves and a high neckline. The skirt twirls out from the waist and is amazingly full - it reminds me of a skater skirt or a 1950s circle skirt it has so much fabric in it. It is just above the knee so is adorable on! The waist nips in and it has the original jabot or neck tie that has wider, rounded ends - you can style this a zillion ways. The fabric is a polished cotton mix knit jersey - it has enough weight to help hold the shape and structure of the dress but is comfortable to wear. The base is black with little bursts of color in a geometric pattern that really pops! Excellent condition. Item# DD741
This is a fantastic little dress and a bright and colorful one as well! This is everything I love about Beene! It is meticulously made and has used the finest silk that has been beautifully screened with a gorgeous and bright print. Yet it still has that easy to wear, American sportswear feel to it. The silk used is a silk twill - think Hermes scarf in weight and feel. This type of silk really holds color superbly and this glorious, huge floral print on this confirms that! It has an inner silk bodice over which a looser fitting, more draped exterior is placed. This has a simple scooped neck ad a slit cap sleeve. It bloused gently at the waist. The skirt is soft with a touch of large pleating for fullness and balance to the top. It is cinched in at the waist. A really lovely dress and in superb condition
Bust: 17î flat across from side seam to side seam
Waist: 12î flat across from side seam to side seam

Bodice: approx 16" from shoulder to waist but it drapes when worn
Skirt: 23" from waist to hem
Note that the largest blue flowers pictured are actually two tones of purple in real life. The oranges are deeper as well. If you love it in the pictures - in person it is better!
The dress is fully lined through the bodice in a tissue silk and with a silk organza through the skirt. It† closes with a back painted metal zipper with a second interior painted metal zipper on the tissue silk layer inside the bodice. Hand finishes. Note that an extra inch could be gained through the waist and an inch or more through the bust by modifying the interior silk inner bodice

If you have been looking for the perfect chic caftan dress for the summer look no further! This amazing Beene Boutique max just screams jet set chic and exotic vacations. Made of a polished silk with a black on black stripe running the full length of the piece. These stripes give you maximum height and leanness and will make you look supermodel tall! A V neck has the fabric set the opposite way for a bit of visual interest and the gown flows from the shoulders in a gentle swoop to the floor. Long lean sleeves are left unlined and are cuffed. So perfect and so chic! Excellent condition and appears to have been worn little if at all.

A phenomenal little dress from the iconic Geoffrey Beene. This has one of the earliest Beene labels so would have been from a collection shortly after he opened his own house in New York in 1963 on 7th Avenue. Beene is a multiple Coty Award winner and one can easily see why when you look at the details in this wonderful dress. Still modern in feel, its stunning lines are perfectly balanced. The bodice is sleek and the neckline high, and the skirt is surprisingly full - cut much like a fifties swing skirt with lots of yardage. I love the use of the black silk taffeta to trim the sleeves, waist and hem. The taffeta detailing is perfection and is folded into tight knife pleats with couture level precision to add weight and interest. This dress is a clever blend of refinement and subtle details that are quite cutting edge. Excellent condition
A striking geometric print and a palette of taupes, yelllows and pale blues make up the signature print on this wonderful early, silk twill scarf by Emilio Pucci. It is instantly recognizable as being Pucci and perhaps one of the more unusual and rare color combinations and prints. The colors are still vibrant & true and because of the print and signatures throughout, it is instantly recognizable.
Appears to have never been used or used very little. Hand-rolled, plump edges. No box

I don't list a ton of vintage belts on the site because, well, frankly I am super picky. Most are too light weight and just don't stand up to a lot of the really great modern ones so I pass hundreds by and wait to pounce on the occasional gem. This is that gem. Its gold toned filigree squares inset with soft jade looking pieces - the contrast of the gold and green is perfection. The belt has a really good weight to it and its well put together. It's a great piece and in excellent condition with no visible tarnishing.
I love the color of this piece - its a rich deep pink with a print in deep copper and golds. The print is fantastic - it has a baroque feel to it that seems very relevant this season. It would have been custom designed for the piece - note how it falls perfectly to highly the high collar lightens to more pink as it moves to down the torso and then the skirt is heavily printed. The belt pinks up the depth of the design around the skirt and anchors the pieces nicely. The cut is left simple with cap sleeves, a nipped in waist and a skirt with just a hint of fullness. A really great and easy piece to wear. Excellent condition.
Op art, insanely fabulous poly knit jersey print dress from Givenchy couture! It seems odd to see a piece done specifically for a client in a poly jersey but don't forget that at the time this was a cutting edge fabric. The ability to screen colors onto the fabric and get crisp, true color was a huge benefit and this fabric travels like a dream and wears well. It would definitely have been made for the jet set girls of the day! It slips over the head and buttons to just below the waist so you can leave it open as low as you please. It is cut sheath like with a loose fitting waist. It has it's original belt to cinch it in. The colors are still bright and crisp and it is in excellent, seems to be unworn, condition!
Fully lined in a light off-white cotton and slips over the head to wear. Appears entirely hand made. The cut will allow it to fit a range of sizes.

This pretty kimono coat or dress, is not absolutely perfect but still so wonderful I cannot resist listing it! The exterior is on great shape and is a fab mix of a smoky blue, silver and gold thread-work all woven to create fabric that has a subtle metallic sheen. Its not a true kimono - rather a westernized version. The sleeves are kimono shaped but the drop is far shorter that a traditional kimono and the tie belt is handily attached at the back. I think it would make a dramatic and fabulous evening coat or wrap and tie it over a slip and wear it our as a dress. The fabric is very light and fluid so drapes wonderfully.
A gorgeous, dramatic, caftan feel Goldworm print dress that mixes their signature knit with a silk chiffon top. Most of the pieces you find from this label are a poly knit but this one is a amazingly soft knit through the skirt and the top a silk chiffon. The fabric would have been made specifically based on the end design as every element works with the other. A stunning floral print is worked into the knit on the bottom and also screened into the chiffon top. The edgings of the top are fine knit ribbons made to match the striped detailing in the skirt and on the waist. Even the buttons are custom made and degrade in color from the top to the bottom of them! I love the caftan feel cut and the sheerness of the top. It is a true beauty, really fantastic and an easy to wear statement piece. Excellent condition! Item# DD902
I Have a Question
In the sixties and into the seventies, caftan fever was at an all time high and some of the best example are from this time period. This fabulous hand dyed bright orange cotton example combines a gorgeous and easy to wear cut with a fabulous mix of hand applied detailing. It is perfect to be worn day or evening. The sleeves are cut in a straight wide line and end a slight flare. The neckline is notched at the front and it is cut loose and easy through the body, It then falls in a gradually widening line as the hem reaches the floor. It is made of a beautiful cotton that has been hand dyed to the orange that you see. The label identifies it as having been made in Pakistan and it is finished in a gorgeous combination of little mirrored discs that are held in place by a hand done application of a natural cording. This creates a substantial pattern at the front of the caftan and around the back of the neck and also finished each cuff. A really fabulous and wearable caftan. Excellent condition with a note below.
Unlined and slips on to wear. 100% cotton. Note that there is a mark on the back of the elbow and natural variations in color to the hand dyed cotton. Please see the last two photos after the label shot. Tagged a Large and the easy cut should allow it to fit a range of sizes.

I love these Valentino sunglasses. The frames are handmade and are a type of horn or horn looking resin that has really terrific accents and an interesting depth the the color. They are not crazy huge - rather a more refined lady like size and shape. Super dark, original lenses. Fantastic condition.
This caftan is an amazing example of the quality of textiles coming out of Morocco in the 1960s, though it may even be older then that. It would have been hand made and is a beautiful combination of brocade and gold thread. The design is a classic silhouette that pairs a finely woven brocade with hand done embroidery work and gold metal thread woven through the design. A deep burnt orange thread is interspersed with real metal gold thread and this surrounds little medallions of hand embroidered flowers. The edges are all finished with a heavy gold braiding and the front has a row if tightly spaced gold button and loops. It is very heavy - if it weighs less then ten pounds when I box it up to ship I will be shocked. The cut is loose and easy, it just slips over the head and has a notched neckline for a bit of skin to peek through. Once on the weight balances nicely but it is a heavy textile. Excellent condition

Jean Louis is the designer who famously designed the dress worn by Marilyn Monroe in 1962 for JFK's Birthday party when she sang Happy Birthday to President Kennedy. Louis's attention to detail and the exquisite craftsmanship and couture level techniques are clearly apparent in this stunning dress. Vertical stripes of velvet are applied to a weightless silk chiffon backing. The photos cannot begin to convey the fluidity or richness of how this fabric feels. The neckline is cut high and skin peeps through the stripes on the sleeve. The skirt is a simple pencil and very flattering. The waist nips in and you can add even more shape with the patent belt that is original to the dress. You get the illusion of nudity through the bodice with the backing of nude silk chiffon. Very sexy and very chic. Excellent, unworn condition.
We often will never know the original price on a dress and when we find a piece that does have its original tags it is even more fascinating. At first glance the prices may seem low but you do have to take into account the current valuations and then think of just how much money that would have represented during a past time period and it is pretty mind-boggling. The original price tag is still present on this little masterpiece by the designer Jean Louis and it was a hefty $1170 even back then! If you pop that number into a historical values calculator and use a rough date of 1966 you get an approx current value of just under $10,000 and that is without tax.

I Have a Question
This is a deceptively simple Jean Patou silk dress in a lovely navy silk. Jean Patou once said "Certain dressmakers desire to pass for an artist. I have one ambition: that is to have good taste." and this dress is the very epitome of that statement despite its sexy lines. The dress is numbered and is true haute couture piece that has been made entirely by hand and represents countless hours of dedicated hand work within the atelier. Patou was one of the founders of the sportswear movement and the later designers of the house often hearkened back to this aesthetic. This dress for example, has the lines of the tennis dress, ramped up for evening. It is constructed from a rich navy silk that is flattering on most skin tones. The bust is plunging halter whose straps curve and hook behind the neck. This leaves the back bare to the waist and offsets the simplicity of the color and cut at the front. The waist is detailed with a padded round piping. Under this the skirt falls in a swirl of fabric cut to flare out and swing. Inside the dress is all handwork and lined in a fine blue silk. Excellent condition.
A hand set silk lining throughout and hand finished seams. Finished to Haute Couture standards. Closes with hand set fine painted metal zipper at the low back. Built in and attached inner waist stay that hooks to close. Hooks to close at the back neck. Numbered label 96773 (or 96113).

I seriously love this red and black graphic Jean Varon dress! It is really one of the best prints I have had from him. Billowing, graphic sleeves are cuffed at the wrist with a wide panel of ruched and elastic banding. This same banding detail is used again at the waist with a darling little ruffled added underneath. The dramatic print really highlights the loose lines of the piece - you get the effect of softness and edgy at the same time. I love the high neck with the attached ties - it adds a bit of secretary naughty. The skirt is full and flirty. Truly a find and in excellent condition.
Sleeves: approx 28" long but pouf when worn
Bust: no defined side seams as the sleeves come out form the top of the waist band

A rare Jeanne Lanvin labeled set that is from the mid- 60s and would have been produced during the reign of Castillo. This is an "ÈxÈcutÈ par Maria Carine sur autorization spÈciale" (made by Maria Carine with special authorization).
This is a special garment and needs a bit more explanation - it is best explained by this excerpt from the Vintage Fashion Guild: Maria Carine was owned by Maria Moutet-Chenu. She worked with four couturiers: Heim, Desses, LaRoche, and Lanvin. After the couture showings, each couturier would give her sketches based upon the garments they had just shown. Moutet-Chenu made the toiles which were approved by the designers. Then each ready-to-wear garment was cut individually by hand in the Maria Carine workrooms in Paris using the same fabrics that were used for the couture garment. Maria employed hundreds of seamstresses, many of whom worked in their own homes. They sewed each garment individually to exacting standards. This was the highest of early high-end ready-to-wear.
In other words - this is a hand sewn, authorized piece, that would have been completely overseen by Castillo and was the way Lanvin would have produced ready to wear for their clients. These were only produced for a small window of time before more mas market production methods took over. I love the classic cut of this set with it's box coat and chic sheath dress. The dress is a slim cut simple shift that is cut to skim over your curves. It is refined and graceful and the pale robins egg blue color is perfection on the linen textured fabric. I love the contrasting panel of white and how you can cinch the dress in or wear it as a simple sheath. The coat is as classic a cut as you could ask for but with wonderful details like the discreet pockets hidden along the front seams and the simple un-collared neckline that allows the collar of the dress to sit perfectly above when worn together. It is simplicity mixed with a masterful seaming and cutting and extraordinary fabric. This is really the equivalent of a made to order, one step under couture, garment! Hand finishes and extra detail throughout. Excellent condition and a rare set! Item# DD818
I suspect that this was made in the early sixties when Geoffrey Beene worked for this label. Traina himself was the nephew of Normal Norell and you can see that influence in this cape as well. Made of a ivory wool it is a study in shape and restraint. The shape is rounded and the very minimum in design in used with the emphasis on the cut and seaming. Thrown over any color this would offer the perfect contrast! The buttons at the front are amazing - big bold jeweled bubble buttons in a deep charcoal and black mix add the perfect hint of luxe. Your arms just slip through the slots at the front and the nside is impeccable and hand finished. Wonderful condition.
I Have a Question
I love Josefa caftans and have covered the history of the label a couple of times in my instagram (go peek one day). They are like owning a piece of wearable art. Every single one of them was entirely hand made, detailed and embroidered. They were made in Mexico in the late sixties to early seventies and were the epitome of Bohemian chic in their day. They are easy to wear pieces that can go from the beach, to exploring far off markets, to being worn as an evening piece depending on how you style them.
This is a wonderful example of her work and one of my favorites that I have had in the shop to date. The cotton is crisp and fresh feeling still. Usually you see these in bright colors but this one has been hand dyed to a deep grey black. The photos make it appear to be a true black but in person there is a natural color variations in the fabric that has a touch of a deep charcoal grey to it. Pale gold ribbons adorn the neckline and I love how they actually are set to cross over each other and have a woven effect where they meet at the base. That same pale gold fabric is set all the way around the hem in wide panels and each cuff is also finished with the gold. It has hand done embroidery work just below the front neck and down the each side. More embroidery work is set on each sleeve. The sleeves are incredible. Each is cut wide and mimic the way that the skirt widens out as it nears the hem. The dress is cut to sit slightly more fitted through the bodice and then flares out dramatically as it reaches the hem. The sleeves are cut to do the same and widen out as they near the cuffs. Excellent condition with a note to review below
Unlined and slips on to wear. The fabric has natural variations in it. The color in person has a slight charcoal to it and is not a true inky black as it photoed. It's even better in person I think. There is some discoloration on the ribbon of each sleeve and a mark on the ribbon at the hem. Please review the photos after the shot of the label The loose cut will allow it to fit a range of sizes.
