I Have a Question
These little 1950s Hawaiian dresses are wonderful and are cut to give you curves. They have such a classic silhouette that they still feel fresh even after 50+ years. This one is unlabelled and would have most likely come directly out of Hawaii in the movement that was set up to cater directly to the thriving tourist market of that era. These sarong styled sun dresses were worn by Hollywood starlets and girls bought them in droves to emulate their favorite stars. I love the sarong style skirting with its attached illusion of a wrap skirt complete with a little tie of fabric that sits at the side of waist. This one is boned through the bodice for support and the neckline is slightly gathered at the bust for a touch of detailing. The print is a pretty mix of a right tropical orange against a brown and tan backdrop. It is very pretty and very flattering on. The fabric is still crisp and it appears to have never been worn. Excellent condition
The dress is unlined and has boning in the bust area It closes with a side painted metal zipper. Made of a crisp cotton and appears to have never been worn, or worn very little.

This is an exquisite 1960s dress whose exterior is covered with hand done bead & sequin work. It is made out of black cord net that is then covered with hand made flowers adorning its entire surface. You would rarely see this level of handwork on a piece today and if you did the cost to produce it would catapult it onto the world of couture. Each flower, complete with gorgeous fronds of green leaves, has been meticulously made by hand using bright combinations of sequins and beads. Each flower has a raised 3D effect. I took several detail shots so you can get an idea of the workmanship and also included a shot of the back of the fabric so that you can see the handwork. The flowers cover the entire dress and I particularly love the way the pattern changes at the hem and becomes a more dense design of the flowers. My client was sure it was a designer piece, but women removed the labels during this time period so its no longer known who it is from. It is a remarkable example of the fined hand work being done during this time period regardless and is quite beautiful. You can change the look depending on the hue you wear under the cording. Excellent condition.

I Have a Question
This absolutely fantastic silk swing dress from the 1940s has a vivid and stunning, hand painted floral print that covers it head to toe. The floral design that covers the dress feels pretty and feminine and the colors still feel as crisp and vibrant as the day it was made. The base is a deep blue silky rayon and the flowers just pop off of that. I love the little swoops of color that are interspersed among the flowers. The cut of the dress is simple and flattering. The neckline is especially beautiful with a panel of transparent, fine black silk net that has curving black silk cord detailing hand placed onto it. The waist is cut loose and easy and this flows into a swing style skirt that is cut with a more fitted hip and then swings out from there. Wide silk satin bands circle the skirt horizontally to give the illusion that the skirt is made up of three separate tiers. Excellent condition
Unlined and closes with a side metal zipper and has a second short zipper at the back neck. Hand finishes. Note that the cut through the upper body and waist is loose and easy but the hips do narrow

I Have a Question
This seventies coat is unusual in that it has its own little carrying case hidden away inside a pocket in the form of a zipped pouch. It's label indicates that this was a patented design and it would have been made for the girl on the go and traveling. The leopard print has been applied to a soft jersey and the inner lining is a lightweight fabric that is probably slightly water repellent. The leopard print acts like a neutral in that you can pair it with pretty much anything and any color. It closes with a double row of buttons down the front and ties around the waist for added shape. I love the notched collar and its trench coat styling. It flares out as it reaches the hem and has front, angled flap pockets. The zip pouch double as the inside of one of those pockets. You just pull it out and voila - the travel pouch is revealed, It is quite clever. Excellent condition
Fully lined in a light taupe nylon. It closes with buttons at the front as see. Attached zip pouch inside one pocket

I Have a Question
These little black jersey dresses that were made on the late 1940s and early 1950s are wonderful examples of the work being done in these early forms of jersey. The dress is made of a very early silk knit jersey. The fabric is very fluid and drapes very well making it a preferred choice for many dress designers during this time period. The bodice has a detailing on it created by the soft pleats that curve up either side to the neckline. The neckline is squared off and a little flat bow sits at its center. Each sleeve is cut to just past the elbows and they are kept simple and unadorned, just like the front of the skirt is. At the back, the pleat work from the front continues to cure around to meet at the back of the waist two panels of jersey fall from there to give some volume and movement to the back of the skirt. I love the nod to the art deco movement that this gives the dress. Excellent condition.

This 1970s silk chiffon gown is so very pretty and feminine. It is made from a silk chiffon that is dyed a soft and pretty pastel pink. Onto that is a soft flower print that is screened onto the silk. These have a washed watercolor feel to them. They are done in a variety of pastels colors. The dress is cut to float over the body and the chiffon that it is made of is very light in weight. The neckline is slightly scooped at both the front and back. At the back it closes with a row of pearl buttons that trail to just above the waist. The dress is open slightly between the buttons so that you get a subtle peek of skin through the gaps between each button. The sleeves billow out above the wrists and the skirt falls in a column of silk. The waist line has a loosely set elastic and is very full and easy. If you cinched it with a belt to give it more shape you can blouse the top over to create a more midi-length. Excellent condition.
Fully lined in a nude silk chiffon through the bodice and skirt. The sleeves are left unlined. It closes with a series of faux pearl buttons down the back and has a pearl button on each cuff. The waist is elastic but cut loose and generous. The loose and easy cut will fit a variety of sizes.

I Have a Question
I have the twin of this coat in my own personal vintage closet and wear it endlessly. The combination of that classic trench coat design, the full length of it, and those dramatic sequins make it a vintage staple. The collar of the coat os over sized and pointed with all that seventies exaggeration to the shape that you want. The sleeves are cut straight and simple. It crosses over itself at the front and snaps to close and has a sequin belt that you can wrap and tie to add extra shape. The lower portion of the coat sweeps out to the floor and widens as well so you get lots of movement when you move. That full length allows you to throw it over absolutely everything from jeans to a ball gown. The coat is finished with a covering of glossy black sequins that literally cover every inch. Thousands and thousand of sequins have been used and the effect when they catch the light is amazing. Excellent condition
Fully lined in a black silky rayon. Closes at the front with hidden snaps. Sequinned covered elastic belt. Pockets set along each hip. I see no areas of sequin loss. The cut will fit a variety of sizes

I Have a Question
The pictures cannot come close to conveying the beauty of this coat. It is really extraordinary but being black, it is hard to capture just how wonderful it is. The cut is stunning and a strong nod to the sixties aesthetic. It is cut full length with narrow shoulders and meant to sit more fitted to the body through the upper torso. The sleeves are elbow length with a straight cut to them. It is seamed at the front waist only with a slight flare to the lower portion of the front and the back sweeping out more from the shoulders to the hem with no seam to break the line at the back. The fabric itself is stunning. I have included some close ups but even they do not convey it properly. It has a floral print woven through the silk with a matte black thread for contrast. Then onto this are raised embroidered threads that curve between the flowers and these sit up from the fabric for a slight 3D effect. It was then lined in thick, luxurious pink silk satin so every time you move you get a pop of that amazing color. It is as beautiful inside as the outside. The final finishing touch are the two huge crystal encrusted rounded buttons that sit at the neck and waist respectively. Very well made. Excellent condition
The coat is fully lined in an immaculate bright pink silk satin and closes with the two buttons at the front. It has a good weight to it but is not unwieldy to wear. It appears to have been worn very little if at all. Note that the pink is far richer in person then how it photoed.

This wonderful 1950s dress is made from a very fine, high end Asian silk. Woven through the silk is a beautiful design of feathers that have been done in a red thread. Also woven directly into the silk are medallions that are scattered over the surface and around the feather design. Along the inner seams the fabric has the markings of the fabric maker which is in interesting detail and depicts its higher end origins. The red is much better in person then how the camera has captured it. The color is richer and has more depth to it. The cut of the dress is very pretty and unusual. The bodice has a low V with is sent in soft gathers along the band of the waist. The waist is nipped in and then the skirt is set below that and it has a very unusual cut. The inner base of the skirt is a more pencil skirt shape at the front, but the back is shaped almost like a bustle back skirt and has pleat work that give it some volume there. Then there is a second panel of fabric at the front that lies over the inner skirt. This panel gives it that rounded, volume that you see in the photos. It is attached at the waist and curves around the sides towards the back. It is so clever and unusual. Excellent condition
Fully interlined in a combination of an ivory silk organza and a black silk. It closes with a painted metal zipper at the back. Hand finished and beautifully made. The fabric is marked along the inner seams. The skirt has ribbon edged, hand finishes

I love these 1960s cotton caftans. They are great for the beach and traveling and are easy to just throw on and go. They are so easy to wear and versatile and the combination of print and fabric is hard to beat with modern day counterparts. This one has a gorgeous print that is a mix of a deep red, navy and a natural cotton color, and it looks like it was hand blocked onto the cotton. The cut is classic for this time period. It is bias cut so that you can just slip it over the head. The cut through the body is very generous and it is not meant to be fitted. It is meant to sit loose and easy on the body,. The hem flares out quite dramatically and it is very wide by the time it reaches the hem. The neckline is notched with a hook and eye at the top. The sleeves are cut an an angle with the ends ending in points that run down your wrists. They are also cut very full and wide. A great original piece from this time period. Excellent condition
Unlined and slips on to wear. The neckline is notched with a hook and eye at the top. The bias cut will allow it to fit a variety of sizes.

The colors on this piece are so pretty. It is a dreamy combination of a bright floral print on a black backdrop. The nylon jersey that was used for this piece give it a touch of transparency and that makes the print even more interesting. The top is cut with a V neck and is sleeveless and the skirt is long. I love the open plunge at the front that is secured by little strips running across it. This would have originally been meant to be lingerie but it is pretty enough to be worn as a dress or cover up with some clever styling. Excellent condition

This is such a pretty vintage summer dress with its red rose embroidered front and pretty crochet detailed shoulders. The base fabric is a crisp white gauze cotton that has a slight texture to it. It is light and airy and easy to wear. Onto this are a series of embroidered red roses that trail up the front. The cut is loose and easy so it very easy to wear. The hem is finished with a ruffled detail in the same gauze cotton. The top of the neckline and little cap sleeves is finished in a white open weave crochet design that scoops on the front and flare out at the edge of each sleeve. I love the little crochet rosettes that make up part of the design. It has a pretty ribbon detail down the front center that loops through the crochet for the prefect finishing touch. Very pretty and sweet. Excellent condition

I have had the exact twin of this dress in the shop in a coral color and this unlabeled one is from the same collector as I have acquired the other Kloss pieces that I have in. The interesting thing about John Kloss for Circa pieces are that it is actually a lingerie line. Because of that fact, many of the pieces you find have a semi-sheerness to them like this one does. John Kloss was a contemporary of Ossie Clark and he also often used historical references in his work. The cut is very sexy without really revealing much more then a low cut decolletage and the shoulders. The skirting has yards and yards of fabric and cascades out from an elastic empire waist. The bust and shoulders are made from the barest minimum of fabric needed to just barely give you coverage. It is semi sheer but could be worn out with nude undergarments or some other clever styling twist. Kloss was genius at choosing extremely high quality nylons that draped exactly as he wished and this high quality always shows with his pieces. Excellent condition.
Unlined and slips over the head to wear. Elastic at the high waist, sleeves and neckline. The elastic makes the dress easily adjustable to fit. You can wear the shoulders on or off.

I Have a Question
These 70s jersey dresses are always a favorite. There are good ones and there are definitely bad ones, so when I find one that is just super like this one is, I snatch it up for the shop. It is an early seventies dress that is made from a synthetic jersey that gives it really great movement and drape. This fabric also hold the color really well and I love the pale and happy yellow that it is finished in. It is made from two layers layers and the sides scoop super low down the sides with ties to keep the dress in place. These ties also give you some room to adjust for the perfect fit through the bust. More ties run through the neckline at the back and front and tie above a small keyhole at the back. The dress is made up of two layers, An inner dress that gently widens out through the skirt as it nears the hem, and a top layer that is attached at the neck and ends with a pointed finish on both the front and back. It's the perfect piece that can easily go from the beach to day wear to night with a change of styling. Excellent condition
Unlined and slips on to wear. Ties at the neck and at each side of the bust so you can adjust for the perfect fit. The fabric does have some stretch.

I have a secret love for these synthetic dresses from the 1970s. This fabric held colors fabulously and they travel exceptionally well. Dresses like this that are made from it are wash and wear and they have the added bonus of being virtually wrinkle free. Its the easiest possible dress to throw into a suitcase and be able to wear instantly at the other end of your journey. This dress is not a super expensive one, but has loads of style and impact. It was made by the Malama Hawaii label that was based out of Honolulu. It is sleeveless and and is a good wearable size. It is actually a little large on me but falls well so can be worn by a smaller frame still. It has a neat little collar and a notched neckline. The shoulders have a little capped effect to them and come out from a curved yoke that warps around the upper part of the dress. It starts to gradually widen under thee bust and through the waist and then continues to widen out as it nears the hem. The slightly thicker fabric gives it shape. The print is the best part. The base fabric is jet black and a vivid floral pattern in white and red densely covers the bottom half of the dress with a scattering of the flowers trailing up the top. Excellent condition
Unlined and closes with a back painted metal and nylon zipper. It is meant to fit very loose and easy through the body.

I Have a Question
This is a fabulous find. It is an early seventies scarf or bandanna dress made of a light cotton mix fabric and has a beautiful deep navy print in a variety of stylized little flowers, dots and striped. It is made from several printed layers and each has a distinctive print for contrast. The bodice has a cute little triangle of fabric at the neckline on the back and front. The sides scoop super low into the high waist and it ties at the top of each shoulder. There are also ties that run through just under the bust that you tie to adjust for the perfect fit. The skirt below has two layers, with the top layer giving contrast and its pointed finish really gives it that bandana scarf feel. The fabric used is light and fine so it feels easy to wear once on the body. The print and the way it is mixes all the different patterns is wonderful and I love the way it contrasts the round circular prints with the more angular diamond feeling ones. It's the perfect piece that can easily go from the beach to day wear to night with a change of styling. Excellent condition

This is an exquisite 1960s pale blue net sheath dress whose exterior is covered with hand done bead & sequin work. It is made out of two layers of a fine pale blue net that is then covered in with hand made flowers adorning its surface. You would rarely see this level of handwork on a piece today and if you did the cost to produce it would catapult it onto the world of couture. Each flower has been meticulously made by hand using blue and soft coral sequins and beads. The leafs are gold colored glass tube beads and then there are a variety of beads, sequins and rhinestones scattered among those. Each flower has a raised 3D effect. I took several detail shots so you can get an idea of the workmanship and also included a shot of the back of the fabric so that you can see the handwork. The flowers cover the entire dress on both the front, back and cap sleeves. Around the collar and edges of the sleeves is a more dense version of the pattern with more crystals and dangling beads. This was purchased by my client's mother in Europe and worn one time and stored flat since. She is sure it was a designer piece, but women removed the labels during this time period so its no longer known. It is a remarkable example of the fined hand work being done during this time period regardless and is quite beautiful. You can change the look depending on the hue you wear under the netting. This amazing caftan has no tags in it but is very well made and has the feel of a labelled piece. There are actually three parts to it - a blue silk inner slip, the caftan itself and a matching scarf that is edged in large paillettes. I have shown the scarf separately but it could be worn around the neck or as a head piece. It is both a beautiful piece of wearable art and a spectacular statement piece. The range of colors and that organic, flowing design that covers the silk crepe chiffon is divine. The cut has that draped, goddess, flowing feel to it of a true caftan. All of the inner edges are a combination of machine and hand finishes, again giving us a clue that this was a high end piece. It just slips over the head with a keyhole that you can wear tot he front or the back. The sides are closed with an opening left on each side for your hands to slip through. This allows that spectacular pattern on the silk to command center stage. I love the colors used - they give it an earthy desert feel that is just spectacular. Excellent collection
It slips on to wear with a hook & eye at the neck. The inner slip also slips on. Both pieces are finished by hand. Note that there are some small marks on the front under the neckline - I am 99% sure they are part of the organic nature of the tie dye process but have photoed them for accuracy

This dress is amazing. It is insanely sexy with a halter style front that plunges to just above the waist and has a back that is left completely open and bare. It is made of a liquid jersey in a deep taupe brown that feels amazing on. That fabric choice also drives the design and the draping on the sides. I love how the skirt is cut so that the sides drape in an ascending curve and give the hips an exaggerated volume. It gives the dress extra drama and makes it far more interesting them just having a plain cut skirt. It also has the added bonus of traveling very well. It is the kind of piece you can throw into your suit case and slip on with either flats or heels when you reach some far off destination and be perfectly ready to go. Excellent condition.

This is a gorgeous little metallic dress with a pretty print that combines a deep charcoal, gold and white. It has lost its label along the way but is a well made piece and I am guessing it had one at some point. The cut is simple and sweet with a sleeveless, A-line shift shape to it. The bodice has seams that curve around the bust and the neckline is cut in curving, wide set V. The high waist is accented with a matching fabric, attached belt. I love the big round, stone encrusted buckle at the front. The skirt skims over the hip and flares out as it reached the hem. The fabric is the real star of the show on this one and I love the fabulous print that covers the surface of the dress. Excellent condition
Fully lined in ivory silk and closes with a back, hidden set zipper. The attached belt at the waist snaps to close at the back. I see a couple of the black stones missing from the belt buckle but its not noticeable at all unless you specifically look at it closely. In person the gold feels more prominent that how it photoed. Really super in person

This bright pink jumpsuit was most likely meant as a lingerie piece originally but it is opaque so can be worn out. The bodice is gathered along the center halter piece that ties up and around the back of the neck. Two panels of fabric sit along that tie at the neck and go across the bust to anchor in at the waist. This design leaves the back completely open and bare so it is insanely sexy. It also leaves tan open slit that runs down the center front from the tie at the beck to the waist. The waist nips in with elastic running all the way around for a super comfortable fit. The legs each have yards and yards of fabric in them and each is cut extremely wide and full. The fabric is a light vintage lingerie fabric that moves wonderfully and still has a decent good weight to it. The pink is even better in person. It is a fabulous vintage piece that still feels shockingly modern and sexy. Excellent condition.
Unlined with an elastic through the waist. It ties in the back of the neck. The cut and elastic at the waist will allow it to fit a variety of sizes.

I love the design of this jumpsuit with its extra wide cut legs and wild print. It's dramatic and over the top but still super easy to wear and travel with. The legs are cut so wide that at first glance this looks to be a dress but it is definitely a jumpsuit. I don't think I have seen a wider cut legs with each measuring a full 72" around the hem. This gives you tons of volume and play but still with the ease of a pant. The bodice is cut in a high, straight neck at the front and is meant to skim over the body. The sleeves end just below the elbow and the waist is defined with a seam and has a matching fabric tie to cinch. It is made out of made of a printed cotton mix that is light and easy to travel with. It works from day to night depending on how you style it and if you go with flats or heels. The mod, bright pink print really give it a pop. Excellent condition

This lovely little dress has no label to tell us its maker, but was certainly a high end piece. Inside it is finished primarily by hand with evidence of some machine finishes suggesting a demi-couture level piece. The body of the dress is heavily finished with copper colored glass seed and tube beading. Tiny gold sequins are scattered throughout the circular design. All have been meticulously placed by hand and the workmanship s very fine. This is done an a deep copper silk that has just a touch of iridescence to it. The cut skims over the body with a defined banded waist. The skirt follows the hip and narrows at the hem. The sleeves are set with a slight bit of volume at the shoulder and end just past the elbow. Excellent condition

What a chic and pretty spring coat by the Lee Parker Originals label. The bright lime green color is fantastic and the cut is really special. It is like an instant pop of spring. It is cut on a pretty A-line swing that widens out from the more fitted shoulder and bust. The collar is kept neat and simple while little round green buttons adorn the front from the neck to the waist for a pretty finish. Under that row of buttons the coat has no closures and that helps to give it the lovely movement it has once one. The entire lower portion of the coat is set in wide pleats and these give it the prettiest look. It is just darling. Excellent condition
Fully lined in a green silky rayon and buttons to close at the front from the waist seam to the neck. No pockets along the front seams. Note that any yellow tone you see in the photos is just the light - it is slightly more a pastel lime then shown in real life and the color is entirely even. It is open though the waist but smaller fitting through the shoulders

This pretty little dress is made from a light beige cotton with a floral print that runs over its entire surface. These were all the rage in the late 1960s and into the 1970s and this example id an exceptionally pretty one. The neckline is square off and accented with a touch of lace. That same lace runs down the front panels and is used to edge those amazing sleeves. The sleeves are truly spectacular with an immense amount of fabric used to create each huge circle drop. The skirt is full length and has a gorgeous little riffled hem. It simply pops on and ties at the back with the attached ties secured to each side of the waist. It is wonderful. Great over all condition with one note below
Unlined and closes at the back with a painted metal & nylon zipper. Ties at the waist. Note that there is a slight darkening to the fabric under the arms - I have provided photos. It does not show when on at all and is barely noticeable. Priced with this in mind and actually less then what I paid for it as I did not notice that when I purchased! A steal

This would have been originally intended to be worn as lingerie piece. However, the recent trend towards wearing items more sheer and layered over inner foundation garments makes piece like this far more suitable as outwear now. This one walks the edge, as far as how sheer it is. It def has a touch of sheerness in a strong light but you could use it as a cover up, be daring and wear nothing but a slip under it, or layer it over just about anything underneath to the point where you can walk outside. The nylon is of a good quality and weight. The fabric is a pinky coral color that is a touch brighter in hue then how it photoed color-wise. It is better in person in my opinion. It slips over the head with pretty pouf sleeves that give a nod to the thirties in feel. The bust and back dip very, very low and the front is gathered .with a tie and it is with this tie that you can adjust it to keep it from literally sitting below the bust line. The edges are all finished with a softly gathered edging of lace in a matching color. Excellent condition
Unlined and slips on. Tagged M. The fabric does have some stretch. I think this is a John Kloss piece but it is not labelled. It came in the same lot as the other Kloss pieces I have

I Have a Question
This gown is made from a polished cotton which is an unusual choice for an evening piece. That, combined with the amount of details put into it, gives it a very special feel and I adore it. The fabric is very pretty with a floral palette that is made up of a combination of pink and coral flowers on an abstract taupe and white backdrop. The pattern is done to give it the feeling of a watercolor and this pretty effect just adds to its allure. The skirt is very full and cut so that it sits slightly longer and fuller at the back. Extra fabric is gathered just under the mid-back to give it that pretty fullness. Under the skirt is an attached crinoline made of a yellow, ruffle edged tulle for fullness and the skirt itself is lined with dressmakers paper so that it holds and keeps its shape. At the front there are angled, flat pleats that are set to work in and up towards the center waist so that you get shape without bulk. To highlight the waist there is a wide mustard colored silk satin sash that wraps around the waist. At the back, this sash is set in a large half bow and then the ends trails almost to the floor in two wide panels. The bust is suspended from the shoulders with teeny straps that curve down and into the low back. It is finished internally with boning for added structure. It is elaborately finished with curving trails of sequins, prong set rhinestones and the most amazing 3D floral appliques made of the same floral fabric. It is wonderful and with all those 1950s details that makes pieces from this time period so very special. Excellent condition.
The skirt and waist are backed with dressmakers paper. The bodice has an additional partial lining of a cream silky rayon and is boned. There is an inner attached tulle net skirt that ties to close behind the zipper at the waist. The bow is attached and hooks and snaps into place. It closes with a back painted metal zipper. It appears to have been worn very little if at all.

This is every inch that classic, couturier inspired, tent coat of the fifties except it has been done in a white leather. I have truly never seen anything like it before and I think it is wonderful. The cut is extraordinary and i have to say that the photos of it on the mannequin do not convey how this will sit on a real girl. Which is exactly why I decided to take it for a spin myself so you can see how wonderful it looks on. If you are a fan of these coats then you already know how great these are and to see one made of leather - and white leather at that - is not something you will see every day. The leather gives it enough body to hold the form and structure of the coat. The pieces are whip-stiched into places. I love the extra detailing this gives to the line of the coat. The cut is extremely sculptural with lots of volume. A small, neat collar sits at the neck and each sleeve is cut wide and to the elbow. A circle of white fox circles each cuff. All of the volume comes out from the shoulder and when on creates the most dramatic silhouette. I love the detailing on the pockets that sit on either side for the perfect finish. Excellent overall condition.
Partially lined in black satin and leather for other parts. It closes with the large leather details that pull through the holes on the opposite side. The leather does show some overall grubbiness and patina from age and normal wear. Pockets sit on each hip. The cut will allow for a range of sizes.

This coat is really a wonderful piece that focuses on the cut and fabric to convey the beauty of it. The fabric is a weighty cream silk brocade that has a horizontal "ribbing" from top to bottom that is created by metallic gold threads. This creates a striping effect and gives the coat a subtle shimmer from head to toe. The cut is simple and is cut almost on a column with a slight flaring out as it nears the hem. The back is pure drama and feels like it is almost cut on a curve that creates the volume that you see. The fabric choice gives it a sculptural feel. It is absolutely incredible. The sleeves follow that same slight widening as they reach their hem. It closes with one single button at the front. Excellent condition
Fully lined in a heavy weight cream satin. One button closes it at the neck. The fabric has a good solid weight to it but once on is perfectly distributed. No pockets. Appears unworn. The open cut will allow it to fit a range of sizes as long as the shoulders work.

This stunning gown has no labels but feels like a label piece in its construction. It is definitely a higher end piece and a beautiful from this time period. It is made from a fabulous pink brocade that has a gold thread worked through the pattern that runs top to bottom. This allows the dress to have a subtle sheen and the combination of the pink and gold is mesmerizing. The bodice is very unusual - it is a high cut squared off panel with high cut corners that sit off the sides a touch. Two wide straps are set under this and curve around and down the back. The back is otherwise left completely bare. I love that even though the front is so squared off the sides curve around the body to meet at the low back. This keeps it feeling very feminine. The skirt is cut to curve around the hips and then widens out on a gentle curve to just above the floor. This one has a deep 8" hem inside so you could easily make it as long as you preferred. Excellent condition
The dress is fully lined in a matching pink silky rayon and closes with a low back painted metal zipper. Each strap buttons under the seam of the waist and has two holes to choose from so you can get the perfect fit. It has a deep 8" hem so could easily be made longer if needed. Ribbon edge finises and hand finished.

This caftan is an amazing example of the quality of textiles coming out of Morocco in the 1960s, though it may even be older then that. It would have been hand made and is a beautiful combination of brocade and gold thread. The design is a classic silhouette that pairs a finely woven brocade with hand done embroidery work and gold metal thread woven through the design. A deep burnt orange thread is interspersed with real metal gold thread and this surrounds little medallions of hand embroidered flowers. The edges are all finished with a heavy gold braiding and the front has a row if tightly spaced gold button and loops. It is very heavy - if it weighs less then ten pounds when I box it up to ship I will be shocked. The cut is loose and easy, it just slips over the head and has a notched neckline for a bit of skin to peek through. Once on the weight balances nicely but it is a heavy textile. Excellent condition
Fully lined in a light beige cotton and slips over the head to wear. Braided buttons and loops at the neck and on each cuff. Very heavy and appears entirely hand made. The cut will allow it to fit on just about any size but probably best on a med-lrg.

I Have a Question
This is a very pretty and unique dresses from the 1940s. Really great examples of dresses from the forties are almost impossible to find anymore and often examples have just a minor detailing of sequin work. This one however is like the holy grail as it is completely covered in hand set blue sequins that follow the curves of the printed design underneath. And even more amazing this covers the dress from top to bottom. The cut is perfectly simple and perfectly feminine. The skirt is cut slim and straight from the more fitted hip area. The bodice above the nipped in waist is classic forties with short cap sleeves and a V neck that meets in a soft pleating detail at the center front. It also dips in the back and the neckline is edged in a pretty blue velvet. Over the entire surface of the white silk crepe are tiny hand set blue sequins, each individually placed and set by hand to follow the design underneath. One of the most striking and unusual 1940s dresses I have ever had. Excellent condition with one minor note to review below
Interlined with a net fabric and closes with a side painted metal zipper. Hand finished throughout. There is minor fading on the top of each shoulder where the blue of the sequins and print has softened to a more purple tone. Because of where it sits and the complexity of the design its not really noticeable once on.

I Have a Question
This dress is wonderful and very unusual for the time period. It is made from an amazing printed silk twill that has a very rich feel to it. It had to have been stored properly for all these years because the color is still crisp and true. The design of the dress itself is stunning. The silk fabric has an amazing print that is kind of a stylized combination of a crocodile and alligator print. The color is a beautiful, rich blue and this print covers the entirety of the dress. The cut is fitted and chic with a sweetheart neckline and capped shoulders. The waist nips in and the skirt is cut in a long lean line from the fitted hip area. I love the pockets that are set angled off each hip. This emphasizes the feminine curves of the dress perfectly. Each of those pockets and the neckline as edges with beads and faux pearls and there is a scattering of both over the front bodice as well. Excellent condition.
Unlined and closes with a side set metal zipper. Some of the pearls have lost their exterior coating over the years and there is the very smallest appearance of fading to a slight more purple tone to the blue around the opening of the arms but given the age I still rate this as excellent. Really a gorgeous and unusual dress

This wonderful little dress is so light and easy to wear. It just slips over the head, zips to the side and then simply falls into place and you belt it at the waist for extra shape. The fabric is a pretty rayon chiffon with an unusual novelty print over its surface. At first glance you see the various sized circle print but then you notice the little deco 'jokers' nestled in among the dots. The bodice is cut loose and easy and the neck line has an attached scarf detail with a little bit of pleating to highlight it and the sleeves are just a suggestion. It buttons down the front with rhinestone capped buttons. The skirt flares out and the lightness of the fabric gives it lots of fullness and movement with you move. It is cut to be generous but in theory even a smaller girl can wear it as the feather light fabric allows you to really cinch and gather it through the waist as needed without adding bulk. It weighs ounces and is a very pretty 1940s piece. Excellent condition with two small notes to review below.
Unlined and closes with a side painted metal zipper. Buttons at the front. Has its original slip buckle belt to cinch in the waist - note the belt shows signs of wear on the buckle and is missing the fabric that goes across the center rod, has some crack in the backing and shows as a darker color then the dress as you can see in the photos. The top rhinestone int he button has darkened and the second last has lost its rhinestone. Hand finished

I Have a Question
I am almost certain that this is an unlabeled Oscar de la Renta boutique dress. I have had a very similar dress to it in the past but this one has lost its label along the way. Regardless of its origin the dress is gorgeous and well made. It is made out if a light weight organza fabric that is shot through with a gold thread sot hat the entire dress has a metallic sheen. The gold has been woven through the organza in a pattern of horizontal stripes and bands that sit over the pale pink. The pattern under the gold is fantastic. It is a mix of soft pinks that have a touch of other pastels in a watercolor wash of softness that perfectly off sets the gold. The upper bodice is cut into a V and the neckline is highlighted with a banding of gold braid that has large pink and clear rhinestones set into it. The banding and rhinestones go rush to the waist and then circle around the waist. Each sleeve is set so that it poufs out above the cuffed wrists. The skirt falls to the floor under that and widens out gently as it nears the hem. It is very pretty and romantic. Excellent condition

This is one of my favorite pieces in the shop. Even though is now almost 90 years old it feel remarkably fresh. It really is an exceptional piece. This would have been considered lingerie when it was first made - but now it is entirely appropriate as a piece to wear on its own as a jumpsuit. It is made from a beautiful weight silk that is that perfect shade of pink nude peach that seems to have only been done to this exact just right during the 1930s. It has a simple button front which means you just step into it and go. The sleeves are capped and the collar neat and round. To give that balance the legs are cropped and cut wide. I love the ties at the waist so you can cinch it in a bit or leave it loose and easy fitting. Presents as excellent condition with one note below to review.
Unlined and you step in to wear. Buttons at the front. Note that under each arm is the very faintest change of color. This is not apparent when on at all and is only seen lying flat and with strong light. Hand finished

This little dress is a bit of an enigma. It came as part of a lot of items and it has no tag or information. Off the hanger it looks like a bot of nothing but once on the mannequin I realized that it has very good lines and drape. Inside, the finish is to couture levels with hand done inner seam edges, as are the outer seams. All signs of a little gem that has sadly lost its label. It is made form a ivory silk of a good weight and is cut on the bias. It has an unusual zipper closure that zips down to the slit at the side of the leg rather then up the body as a zipper is usually placed. The collar is soft and high around the neck and the sleeves are cut long with zippers at each cuff to keep them properly in place and each is finished in a gather of soft pleats along those zipper. At the side sits two long panels of fabric I have ties loosely. More soft gathers sit along the zipper there to create an interesting drape technique. It is simple and easy but very, very well made. Excellent condition

I Have a Question
The 1970s saw the height of the cape's popularity and they were a tremendously easy way to add a ton of drama to any outfit from jeans to evening wear. This one is made from a heavy grey wool and is cut to be full length and with tremendous volume through the cut. The lines are easy and the weight of the wool allows it to fall from the shoulders in a swoop of fabric that falls to the floor. It is constructed from a steel grey wool that is warm and has a decent weight to it, but is not so heavy as to be cumbersome when on. It hooks at the neck with a large hook & eye and is open below that to allow for the maximum movement. The detailing on it is incredible. It has a hand set braided cord in two shades of grey that is done in an intricate pattern to follows the collar and then runs down both sides of the front. Two large medallions of cording are also set under each point of the collar. Excellent condition with a note below

This is a lovely, lightweight jacket covered in extensive crewel embroidery. The base is a black wool cut into a duster coat silhouette. The lines are long to just past the knee and the collar is cut high and round. The embroidery covers the entire surface of the jacket in the prettiest pastel hues that vary from a light lavender to a soft coral. Even the buttons that run down the front are embroidered. I believe the embroidery work to be machine done so the price is very reasonable. Were this an earlier version that was entirely made by hand you could easily add expect to add a '1' to the front of the listed price. It is a wonderful piece that is light enough to wear year round. Excellent condition
Fully lined in a black silk and buttons down the front as seen. There is one small repaired area on the inside lining near the collar. The easy cut will allow it to fit a range of sizes depending on how you like your jacket to fit.

I have a few variations of these caftans landing in the shop. All came from a woman who traveled extensively and spent a lot of time in Morocco during the late 1970s and she apparently wore these there. She had these caftans custom made in a variety of color and fabric combinations. Each is the same loose and easy shape and all are made out of what feels like a silk and linen mix fabric that has just a touch of transparency to it, They are so chic and the perfect topper to just about anything. They move and billow with the slightest bit of movement and are so flattering on. The trim is a flat embroidered panel done in silver thread. It is set on a stiffening back panel that keeps the shape and gives it a slight feel of structure. It also keeps it sitting on your shoulders. The edges are finished with a silver piping. These are almost identical in shape to the iconic Thea Porter's Abaya caftan and you can see this may have been where her inspiration was drawn from. The trim is a flat embroidered panel done in gold thread with just a hint of silver in the design here and there. It is set on a stiffening back panel that keeps the shape and gives it a slight feel of structure. It also keeps it sitting on your shoulders. The edges are finished with a gold piping. There is just a certain cut and line of a seventies halter that once you find you look for variations of it endlessly. This is that dress. It is super chic and one of those easy to wear pieces that you can just throw into a suitcase and it works for day or night, and at the beach, the country, or the city, and you always feel like a million bucks in it. It is made out of a wash and wear cotton and that stripe gives it a fabulous feel. It's got a element of sexiness to it with that low bare back but still feels sweet at the same time. The front has a halter/bikini cut and ties around the back of the neck. This leaves the back virtually bare with the front is cut low and deep so you get a sexy expanse of skin. The skirt cascades to the floor in a widening sweep of fabric and I love how the stripes are set on an angle on the skirt. Excellent condition.
Unlined and ties to close at the back neck and zippers at the low back waist.

The Fetoun label came from a high end shop in Toronto that carriedFrench fashion by a variety of up and coming designers. This coat only retains it's shop label so the designer is a bit of a mystery. It is very well made and has great lines. The color is a brilliant, rich emerald green done on a luxurious silk satin. The combination of color and fabric make it feel like it glows from within. The collar is deep and rounded and the sleeves cut full with a large cuff finish. The coat swoops out form the shoulders in an expanse of fabric that flares out dramatically. The inner lining is done in a matching green so that when the coat flashes open you get no break in line or color. Hidden pockets are set along the front seams. It is a wonderful statement piece and so well made. Excellent condition
Fully lined in a matching green silk. It has no closures. Hidden pockets along the from vertical seams. I see a couple of teeny minor pulls on the edge of the collar but they do not detract in anyway and are very very minor. Mentioned for accuracy.

If you are looking for a dress in a bright shot of color this is it. The rain bow palette travels down the dress in bands of pleated chiffon. Bright pastel [ink, green, yellow and blue are set side by side all the way around the dress for maximum color impact. The dress is a touch too small for my mannequin and will sit better on a smaller girl. It falls in a sleek column of pleats that travel the full length of the dress. The bodice is sleeveless and set in a low V at both the back and front. A piped and braided belt in the quartet of colors is attached and circles the waist. The skirt falls from there in a sweep of pleats that give it a pretty movement when you move. Excellent condition
Fully lined in a nude chiffon. The chiffon used feels like a synthetic but a good one. Closes with a back painted metal and nylon zipper. The attached belt hooks to close at the back.
