I Have a Question
This is an absolutely incredible caftan that is even better in person. The detailing and embellishment that has been added to this caftan is remarkable. It has a decent weight to it - the pink chiffon fabric is very light in weight but all that extensive detailing on the neck and down each sleeve done in all those fabulous rhinestones all add up in weight. However, once it is on and it settles into place, it is not unwieldy to wear at all. I love the vibrant, bright pink that has been used for the color. It is a rich luxurious color and it adds to the glamorous and exotic feel of the piece. The crystal rhinestones are heavily applied and set in an elaborate and regal bib down the front and around the wide cut neckline. They then extend down and over each shoulder and run down the sleeves and then circle around the opening that you slip your hands through. It makes for a beautiful effect and you feel very glamorous once this is on. The caftan is not labelled but it a stand out piece regardless. It is truly unique and fabulous. Excellent condition with one small note below
The inner attached dress that serves as a lining is made from a pink cotton mix feeling fabric and is like a simple sheath dress with sleeves. It slips on to wear with a zipper at the back neck. Light padding on the inner shoulders. The pink is a more true pink in person.
The measurements for the inner dress are marked as such. If you needed more room it would be very easy to add fabric to open the inner dress more and you would never see the alteration once the caftan is on. For that reason I have sized it as OSFA. The inner piece completely lines the dress and is attached at the neck and shoulders. There are two ties attached to the top layer of the dress, inside the dress at the waist area. Slits at the end of the crystal embellishments for your hands to skip through. These tie around the inner dress to give more shape if you wish. There is a small watermark at the side of the back that gets lost in the yards of fabric and minor grubbiness near the hem. Otherwise looks unworn. Please see the last photo

Inner waist: to 19" flat across from side seam to side seam

I Have a Question
This is one of the prettiest dresses I have seen in a while and I think that it might even work as a bridal piece for someone looking for something non-traditional. It just has the prettiest lines and the print is gorgeous. It has a fairly simple cut that really allows the floral print to shine. The bodice is cut in a simple halter style at the front with straps that curve up and around the shoulder and then drops at the back in a way that leaves the entire back bare. The front is plunged but not so low that you feel scandalous wearing it. The waist nips in and the dress has its original tie belt in a matching fabric to cinch the waist in as much as you wish. The skirt is very full through the hips and there is inner stiffening through the hip area to help retain the shape that you see. It curves down and inwards from there as it falls to the floor. This gives it such a pretty and romantic shape. The fabric is a light weight satin finish with a pink and green rose print. Some of the flowers have been hand painted over the underlying rose print and this gives them a slightly denser pop of color and a different texture. It is so pretty in person and just a really wonderful find. Excellent condition.
Unlined through the bodice and fully lined through the skirt with dressmakers paper through the hips to help hold the shape. Closes with a back panted metal zipper. Has a home seamstress feel to it and is well made. Original matching belt. It looks like the bottom was let down so that it is at its maximum skirt length and then it was hand tacked all the way around. I have left it as found.

I Have a Question
In the sixties and into the seventies, caftan fever was at an all time high and some of the best example are from this time period. This fabulous hand dyed bright orange cotton example combines a gorgeous and easy to wear cut with a fabulous mix of hand applied detailing. It is perfect to be worn day or evening. The sleeves are cut in a straight wide line and end a slight flare. The neckline is notched at the front and it is cut loose and easy through the body, It then falls in a gradually widening line as the hem reaches the floor. It is made of a beautiful cotton that has been hand dyed to the orange that you see. The label identifies it as having been made in Pakistan and it is finished in a gorgeous combination of little mirrored discs that are held in place by a hand done application of a natural cording. This creates a substantial pattern at the front of the caftan and around the back of the neck and also finished each cuff. A really fabulous and wearable caftan. Excellent condition with a note below.
Unlined and slips on to wear. 100% cotton. Note that there is a mark on the back of the elbow and natural variations in color to the hand dyed cotton. Please see the last two photos after the label shot. Tagged a Large and the easy cut should allow it to fit a range of sizes.

This elaborately sequin and bead covered dress is even better in person. The workmanship on it is outstanding with a dense, hand applied application of large black paillettes, smaller sequins, beads and curving ropes of seed bead work that give it even more of a 3D effect. The bead work covers every square inch of the fabric and each one has been meticulously placed by hand onto the black stretch knit base. Once that dress is actually on, it hugs and molds to the body. The dress has a very intentional simple cut to offset the extensive bead work. It is a chic sheath silhouette with a slightly nipped in waist, long skirt, a barely there suggestion of a cap sleeve and a V neck. The back is also finished with a V cut that is set so that it dips lower down the back then the front. The hand work done on the dress gives it a three dimensional quality as they are set raised up from the knit. Glossy black flowers are formed from the combination of the various beads used and thick ropes of twisted black seed beads loop and curve through the design from top to bottom. Everything has a high gloss finish and I love the way it gleams in the light. It is also a great wearable size and the knit base makes it feel fantastic once on and extremely comfortable to wear. Excellent condition.
The bead work and sequins are hand applied onto what feels like a cashmere mix knit base. It closes with a back metal zipper. The edges of the slit on the skirt are finished with a black silk panel of fabric but it is otherwise unlined. The knit gives it quite a bit of stretch and the measurements give below are the comfortable range lying flat. You may be able to get a bit more then that if needed. It still has the high end department store Neusteters label but if it had another designer label at some point that is now a mystery.

These little 1970s jersey dresses are always a favorite. There are good ones and there are definitely bad ones, so when I find one that is really amazing like this one is, I snatch it up for the shop. This is probably a mid to late seventies dress that is made from a synthetic jersey that gives it really great movement and drape. This fabric also hold the color really well and I love the deep emerald green that it is finished in. It is made from a single layer of fabric that falls from the neckline and then gently widens out through the skirt as it nears the hem. There is an incredible amount of fabric through the body and skirt so it is very comfortable and easy to wear. It also moves very well when you move. The neckline is low because o that scooped keyhole front and the straps cross and wrap around the neck to leave the shoulders and upper back bare. It's the perfect piece that can easily go from the beach to day wear to night with a change of styling. Excellent condition
Unlined and slips on to wear. The fabric does have some stretch. It is very loose and easy so should fit a variety of sizes.

These lovely little hand embroidered cotton Mexican dresses are works of art in my opinion and this one is an amazing example. These were made by hand by local artisans for the tourist market. This one is one of the prettiest I have ever seen and I think I will be sad to see it go once it sells. The base fabric is a soft white cotton that has the same feel as a treasured and cotton tea towel that has been washed and cared for and softened over the years. The edges of the neckline, hem and sleeves are embroidered in a yellow yarn in a simple little pattern. Around the neckline and the hem are beautiful flowers that are all hand embroidered. The ones at the hem work their way up into the lower skirt and add such a lovely spray of color. Each sleeve is cut into a little pouf of a cap and here the yarn extends out to tassels that tie and bring them in. Another set of tassels hang down at the front. The body of the dress is loose and easy, gradually widening out as it nears the hem. Everything about this dress is beautiful and it’s rare to find one so long. Excellent condition with one note below
Unlined and closes with a metal zipper at the back and hook and eye above where the zipper ends. One tassel is missing on one sleeve. The easy cut should allow it to fit a range of sizes

I Have a Question
These Mexican pin tuck and lace dresses are works of art in my opinion and this one is an amazing example of one. These were made by hand by local artisans for the tourist market. This one is exceptional beginning with the fabric itself. Every inch of the base fabric has been stitched into even perfect little pin tuck pleats to create that wonderful ribbed effect that you see. Bands of a crocheted lace are worked into the design at the lower skirt and to define and highlight those amazing bell sleeves. I have styled them so you can see them at their maximum dimensions but of course they sit a touch flatter as you move and wear the piece. The lace inset allow for the faintest glimpse of skin through where it sits. The front is cut so the buttons curve all the way to the neck but are meant to be left partially undone and open. Everything about this dress is beautiful. It even has its original tie sash to cinch in the waist as you wish. In person the yellow has a touch more of a lemon to it then how it photoed. Excellent condition
Unlined and buttons at the front to the waist as seen and there is a metal zipper set st the waist to close below the buttons. Has its original sash. The sash has a small area of a red smudge on it that you won't see if you just place that side of the sash inwards. The easy cut and sash tie waist should allow it to fit a range of sizes.

I Have a Question
This dress has a very Lanvin vibe to it but it no longer has any labels so its origins are a mystery. I love it regardless and it is one of those pieces that just make you feel happy when you see it. The top is a basic black jersey with a simple cut V neck and slim sleeves. This top that fantastic skirt. The skirt is set higher up under the bust and there is a wide band of fabric to give the waist some definition. Under that the skirt widens out and the choice of a crepe for the fabric gives it some natural volume and hold. It combines a graphic print of a mustard yellow, stark black and then pops of a deep blue, orange and red. The simplicity of the top allows the skirt to really shine and take center stage. Excellent condition
The bodice of the top is lined in a black silky rayon and the sleeves and skirt are unlined. It closes at the back with a metal and nylon zipper. It looks to have been worn very little if at all

I Have a Question
This is a lovely vintage Suzani coat that is in very good condition. The condition makes it very hard to place a date on it but I would think based on the needlework and fabrics that it is some time in the last 30-40 years. The term Suzani is from the Persian word that means needle. Suzanis were traditionally made by Central Asian brides as part of their dowry, and were presented to the groom on the wedding day. They are wonderful collectible pieces and this one is exceptionally pretty. The base fabric is a deep pink silk that has bright colorful embroidery covering its surface. It is all done by hand and you can easily see the hand work on the inside. The interior is finished in a tangerine cotton and I love that flash of color when it opens It simply slips on and ties at the front. It is a pretty piece of history and can be worn as a light day or evening coat for a fresh pop of color. Silk fabric with cotton lining. Excellent condition

In the sixties and into the seventies, caftan fever was at an all time high and some of the best example are from this time period. This fabulous red print one combines a gorgeous and easy to wear cut with a fabulous mix of prints. It is perfect to be worn day or evening. I love everything about the lines of this piece. The sleeves are cut extra wide and end on a pointed curve. The neckline is slit down the front and has bright red frog knots to close and add an unexpected pop. Running down the front is a fantastic contrasting print. This same print that adorns the front also runs down the back and then each sleeve is finished with that same print. It is cut loose and easy through the body and then falls in a gradually widening curve as the hem reaches the floor. Side slits run up each side. It is made of a beautiful cotton that is custom screened in that distinctive prints. A really fabulous and wearable caftan. Excellent condition with one note below

I Have a Question
This is such a pretty dress. It has no labels to tell us its origins but it is well made and just pretty beyond words. It is not 100% perfect but its imperfections are mild. The fabric is the star on this dress. It is a ivory silk base that has a super soft chenille feeling applique that has been fused directly to the base fabric. These give it a 3D texture and in incredible sensation when the dress is touched. The form little abstract dots that cover the dress from head to toe. Between each of those dots are hand applied silver tube beads hat catch the light beautifully and give the dress a touch of sparkle. It is sleeveless and the neckline and back are scooped. There is just a suggestion of shape through the waist and the skirt falls below that is a gently widening column of fabric. A slit up the center back allows you to walk comfortably. Excellent overall condition with a note to review below.
Fully lined in a white crepe and closes at the back with a painted metal zipper. Inner waist stay that hooks to close. Hand finishes. There is some darkening to the fabric as it nears the hem and a small area on the bust. They are pretty mild and feel more like shadows when it is on the body. Please review the last three photos.

I Have a Question
This is an incredible, full length piece that can be worn as a coat or on its own as more of a caftan dress. This is the kind of piece that you only will find in the land of vintage. It is unlabeled but so unique and eye catching. The base is made out of a red cotton velvet and then onto that is a treasure trove of beads, sequins, faux pearls and gold thread detailing that cover the exterior. It has a very simple cut. When laid out flat it is a simple T shape. The sleeves are cut straight and wide and each curves up at the cuff. They are extensively detailed all around the cuffs as well. More of that gold thread and sequins run down the front and cover pretty much all of the velvet. This gives it the most incredible and dramatic feel. At the back the velvet is allowed to show more but it is also finished with more of the same glorious sequin and gold thread as the front. I photoed it laid out flat for you so you can see just how wonderful each side is. I love it. Excellent condition

This is a pretty and romantic dress and cape set that has no label but is well made. I love its matching long caped scarf piece. It just gives that extra little bit of romance and drama to the dress. Both pieces are constructed from a lightweight red silk chiffon that has lots of movement. The bodice of the dress is kept simple and fitted. It is covered with hand placed iridescent sequins that contrast beautifully to the red. Little silk straps curve up and over each shoulder. From the waist, the skirt falls to the floor in a cascade of silk. There are two layers of silk chiffon that float over the inner lining. Each layer is made from yards and yards of fabric so it is very full and has a ton of movement. The hems have all been hand rolled and finished by hand. Over the dress you can add the matching caped scarf piece. This has a built in collar to it that ties to close. You can wear it tied to the front as I have shown it, or at the back, or flip the ends around your neck. It is a really lovely and pretty set and both pieces are very well made. Excellent condition
Fully lined in a red silky rayon. The cape is unlined. The dress closes with a side painted metal zipper and the cape ties to close at the collar. Boning through the bodice. Hand applied sequins and hand finishes at the hem and throughout. Well made. The red is a touch brighter in person and the sequins make more of an impact.

I Have a Question
This amazing dress from the 1930s is far from perfect but I am hoping that someone with a true love for dresses from this era will fall in love and take the time and effort to restore it. It is truly beautiful and deserves to have all its original beauty recaptured. Its flaws are not a deal breaker but it will take some time and effort to make it fully wearable again. Sold as found.
The dress is just amazing and the fabric is equally wonderful. It is a pale bush nude color that is pretty much transparent and the fabric is a silk organza that has an almost ribbon effect with the cross pattern that runs through it. The lines that you see give is some structure and form and the fabric is incredible when you feel and see it in real life. This pops over the slip that came with the dress. The skirt is tremendously full and you could easily add a fuller crinoline under it if you wanted a very full skirted effect. The top is that classic sweetheart design with a gathered bodice and pouf capped sleeves. It has its original velvet ribbon belt with a spray of flowers that hooks around the waist. Please review the condition notes below and the photos carefully before purchasing as it is sold as is and final sale.
The dress is unlined and meant to be worn over the rayon slip that comes with it. The slip closes with a metal side zipper. The dress slips over the head and closes with a series of snaps that follow the waist seam and the side seam. All the photos of the damaged areas are after the photo of the bouquet. The slip is sound but has some marks on the back skirt and under each arm as shown. The outer dress has some dustiness to it and some light grubbiness under the arms. The damage on it is primarily along the seams so it could be repaired with care or even cut down a size and it would be perfect again. Almost every seam of the bodice would need reinforcement or repair as they are al loose or opened completely. There are some storage marks on the skirt, numerous small tears and unraveling on parts of the seam at the hem. It has not been cleaned and is in as found condition. Please review all of the provided photos. It would be magnificent if restored but is currently in fair condition at best. In person the color presents as a touch deeper and more a dusty pink then how it photoed. The shots here do not come close to doing it justice.

I Have a Question
This is one of those incredible mystery pieces that you can only find with vintage. It is very well made and has all the hallmarks of a high end piece but whatever label it once had is now gone. It is made from both a beautiful black silk organza for the skirt and side peplum on the dress and a softer silk for the body of the dress. Both fabric choice are almost weightless. The softer silk used for the dress makes it feel comfortable when worn and the organza gives the volume you see. The inner dress is fitted though the bodice and has one shoulder. A tiny strap curves over the shoulder and the arches across the back leaving a bare expanse of skin. The skirt is fitted and just above the knee. On one side there is a pleated peplum that I put under the over-skirt for added volume and shape but I think you could easily wear the skirt the other way for an interesting effect as well and a The skirt is cut on a sharp angle with extra fabric on one side for volume and then it falls to the floor on a point on the other. There is a detachable bow that you can snap at the waist. The edges of the skirt and the bow are trimmed in a black snakeskin. When worn together it looks like one single piece but because it is two you could potentially break it up and wear the pieces separately. Excellent condition wit one small note nelow
The skirt is unlined and the dress is lined a black silk. The dress closes with a hand set, side metal zipper. The skirt closes with a combination of hook & eye and snaps. The bow snaps into place. There is a bit of wear/dryness to the snakeskin along the bottom edge of the detachable bow. Hand finished to demi-couture standards.

I Have a Question
Much like the Haslton dresses that I look for all the time, this has that same iconic one shoulder silhouette.
There is a certain sexiness caused by the illusion of having the entire dress suspended by buttons at the shoulder. It gives the sense that undoing those buttons would cause the entire dress to drop in a puddle around you (which it would). It is constructed from two attached layers. The inner dress is cut from the same synthetic nylon jersey as the outer layer is and it skims over the body in a long sheath. This inner part of the dress has a high slit cut into the side that travels up the side of the leg opposite to the draped side exposing a long expanse of bare skin when you walk or move. Over, and attached to the inner sheath is a second draped panel of jersey that is suspended from the shoulder. It falls from that shoulder down and over the front of the dress for a very Grecian goddess feel. The fabric used has a touch of transparency to it and is very light and easy to wear. It is also wash and wear and virtually wrinkle free which makes it perfect for traveling. It is very easy to style too - a quick change of shoe takes it day to night in a snap. Excellent condition.
Slips on to wear and has two buttons and fabric loops at the top of the shoulder. These will fit a variety of sizes since they are not cut to be super fitted and the nylon jersey does have some stretch.

I Have a Question
This dress is is a spectacular example of the high end hand beading that was being produced during this time period. It is harder and harder to find these original pieces that are entirely made of glass beads and with such a heavy covering of bead work. The instant you lift this dress up you know it is an early and well made original because it literally weights about 8 pounds. This is entirely due to the dense and heavy coverage of the beads which literally cover every inch of the dress. The cut is simple but dramatic. It is cut to hug every curve but without clinging. This creates a long lean silhouette that suggests the body underneath and gives the illusion of height. The neckline is a simple scoop at the front and the back dips into a V. The hips are cut with a slight curve to follow the curve of the body and the skirt falls to the floor from there. The back hem has a bit of extra fabric and is slightly longer. The entire dress is densely covered with hand placed pink, gold and silver glass tube beads that are set into angle rows. These are so heavily applied that they cover the entire surface. Worked in among the sequins are a strands of tiny ivory seed beads that are each finished with a faux pearl. There are hundreds of these hand beaded tassels that follow those curving lines. The effect that these create whenever you move is wonderful. I love that no matter what angle you look at it, every line lines up. The time and hours put into making this dress with all that hand work and then lining it all so perfectly would have been astounding. It is amazing. Excellent condition.
Fully lined in a hand set pink silk and closes with a back metal zipper. All the sequins, pearls and beads are completely hand sewn into place. It weighs several pounds. There are some minor grubbiness to the inside lining near the hem but of course this is not seen when on.

I Have a Question
This is one of the prettiest silky rayon swing dresses from the 1940s that I have seen. It has a gorgeous little print that depicts white doves pulling little toy carts by a pretty pink ribbon. Scattered around those are scattered stars in pink and white. This is all on a black backdrop so that the print really pops off the dress. The design is stunning. It appears to have been stored properly for all these years as the color is as crisp and vibrant as the day it was made. The cut is simple and sweet with all those classic forties details that we all know and love. The neckline is especially beautiful as it has a panel of fine black silk net set behind the curved design there for the prettiest of touches. The bodice has that perfect slightly loose and easy cut and then this nips into the waist. The skirt below that wraps over with a curving panel going up the one side at the front. Where it meets at the waist there is a little panel of fabric that extends into a tie. Another tie is attached at the waist on the other side and you use these to cinch in the wiast as much as you wish. The skirt is cut swing style and gently curves away from the more fitted hip area. Really a gorgeous little dress. Excellent condition with one small item to note below
Unlined and closes with a side metal zipper and has a second short zipper at the back neck. Hand finishes. Small pads in each shoulder. There are a couple of breaks in the netting. Please review the final photo provided

I Have a Question
This is one of those absolutely beautiful silk dresses that you can only find from the 1940s. It is in fantastic shape which means that it was stored properly for all these years. The colors in the printed silky rayon portion of the design are crisp and vibrant. The bodice and back skirt of the dress is made from a back silk crepe, while the front skirt is a beautiful flower pattern. It has a classic forties cut with a more loose fitting bodice The cut is fitted with neatly capped sleeves. At the back it buttons to close with a a series of crepe covered buttons. This slims over the body and into the waist where it transitions to the print with a curved line. The skirt falls to below the knee and has a slight flare to its cut. The skirt is very interesting in its construction. At the front, it is a solid panel that is cut slightly shorter then the solid black part of the skirt at the back. On each hip the printed silk it wraps and gathers to the back where it turns into a large bow and ties. This gives it a bit of an apron feel at first glance is a very pretty and unusual detailing technique. Excellent condition with one very minor note below

I Have a Question
This is a beautiful coat with very fine workmanship and beautiful construction. The deep red of it is very striking and the cut is simple and sleek. It is made from a fine red silk that has golden thread woven through it. These bits of gold are done in a beautiful floral and leaf pattern that is densely done so from afar they almost appear to be solid contrasting panels. As you get closer you start to see detail after detail. The cut is wonderfully simple. The sleeves end just above the wrist. I have shown the sleeves at their full length but there is actually a full panel of the gold in the inside sleeve. You could wear this with the sleeves ends turned over for a shorter sleeve and even more gold showing. There is no collar or visible closures on the coat, rather it closes with three simple hook & eye down the front and that panel of gold follows the front edging and then runs all the way around the hem in a thick panel. The simple line this creates keeps the line from any distraction and highlights that stunning fabric that makes this coat truly special. It's label tells us that is was a custom tailored piece that would have been specialty made and/ordered out of Hong Kong, who were doing some of the best silks and tailored pieces in the world during this time period. Excellent condition
Fully lined in a very fine red silk with quilting details and it closes with three hook & eye spaced down the front. The easy cut will allow it to fit a variety of sizes

I Have a Question
This dress is drop dead gorgeous. It came to me without any label and I was perfectly OK with that as it is that exact kind of little vintage 'mystery' find that I love. The dress is made out a fine silk chiffon with a very pretty pink and print on a soft yellow base. The print combines paisley and flowers and the two colors work wonderfully together. It falls from the shoulders from flat silk straps that are made form the same fabric as the rest of the dress. The bodice is fitted and gathered at the center. The dress falls loose and easy under the bust seam. It sweeps down to the floor in a sheath of silk. The bust is entirely detailed in pink, gold and iridescent sequins. These are then continued down along the length of the dress in a wide border that edges the panel of fabric that overlaps at the front. The zipper is set along one side and to not break the line the silk from the back is set to curve around and over the zipper and hook in under the front panel. This effect is a nod tot eh sari and it is very beautiful. Excellent condition
Fully lined in a deep yellow silk crepe and closes with a side set metal and nylon zipper. Part of the fabric cures around and hooks under the front panel as mentioned above. Light interior boning on the sides of the bodice. Hand finishes

I Have a Question
This is an absolutely incredible caftan that makes a striking statement with its combination of white, silver and giant jeweled crystals adorning its surface. The detailing and embellishment that has been added to this caftan is remarkable. It has a decent weight to it. The white chiffon fabric is very light in weight but all that extensive detailing of all those fabulous bead and cording work that is set around the neck, down each sleeve and on the upper back done all add up in weight. That said, once it is on and it settles into place, it does not feel at all heavy, just well made. I love the combination of the white, silver, pearls and jeweled beading used. This combination all adds up to the glamorous and exotic feel that the piece has. Down the front there is an elaborate design made up of silver cording, faux pearls, beading and sequins that are heavily applied and set in an elaborate and regal bib that covers the bodice. This then extends down into designs that run like long tassels almost to the hem. The sleeves are cut to be quite elaborate with huge dropped ends that fall from the another ring of beading that circles each elbow. The lower part of the sleeve is slit and edged in a silver lame ribbon and then the ends of the sleeve are finished with a dangling pearl and bead finish. It makes for a beautiful effect and you feel very glamorous once this is on. The caftan is not labelled but it a stand out piece regardless. It is truly unique and fabulous. Excellent condition with a note below to review
The inner attached dress that serves as a lining is made from a cream silk crepe and completely lines the dress except for the sleeves. The exterior of the dress falls over that and is made from what feels like a synthetic chiffon. It slips over the head to wear with no other closures. You could easily add to the inner dress if you needed more room. The cut will fit pretty much any size. The dress in person has a slightly more ivory undertone to it though the body because of the inner lining but not by much. There is a small mark near the hem and a faint mark near one of the embellishments at the front. Please see the last two photos for both these.

I Have a Question
This dress is made out of a fine Indian printed silk. The fabric choice combined with that vivid colour combination of a bright pink and green is fantastic. That gorgeous print runs over every inch of the dress and the silk has a ribbon effect woven through it. I love the lightness and airiness of the dress that is created by the many yards of silk chiffon. Working in this type of fabric is already difficult and this would have taken many hours of work to complete this dress. The silk is cut on the bias through the skirt giving it a lovely movement when you move. It will just float and move around you at the slightest movement. The neckline is squared off and cut low. The bodice skim over you and its cut to follow your curves with a nipped in waist. The sleeves are cut wide and full so that they end in a wide flare at the wrist. At the back the dress scoops low leaving the upper back bare. It comes with a long matching sash that you can use at the waist, neck, or as a head scarf. It will also ship with an additional skinny belt covered in the same fabric (not pictured). Excellent condition with a minor note below
Fully lined in bright green silk with the sleeves lined in silk chiffon. It closes with a hand set, painted metal & nylon zipper. Hand finishes. The sash has hand rolled edges. The inner lining to the skirt has small nicks and thinning to it throughout. It seems stable and is completely wearable as is. No similar issues to the outer layer at all. Some grubbiness to the hem that gets lost in the print. I see one mark on the skirt that gets lost in the print.

This gorgeous little dress dates from the 1950s and has such pretty colors and pretty lines that you can't help but swoon at the sight of it. It is also remarkable crisp and white for a dress from this period and it was obviously stored well over all these years. It has no label but is very well made and the cotton fabric that was used to make it is just lovely. The top is a simple and fitted with affair tiny little double straps that curve up and around each shoulder. The waist line is cinched in and there is the prettiest flat bow, made form the same fabric, that sits at the center to give it a little extra detailing. This tops a full skirt that has lots of fabric in it and could be worn over a light crinoline if you wanted it even fuller. The green and pink floral design is so pretty and the colors are a lovely pop against the white. In person the pink stand out more as the primary color than how it photos. Excellent condition with a minor note below
Fully lined in a white muslin and closes with a back painted metal zipper. The zipper has a tiny bit of 'stick' to it but works fine. There is one smudge on the side of the skirt. Please see the last photo shown here. The owner had some of the seams reinforced/re-done at one point.

I Have a Question
One of my long term clients sent me this dress and I thought it was quite wonderful. It was custom made for her many years ago from found antique kimono fabric that had never been used. My client was told only that the fabric was over 100 years old when she originally foundit. It is quite beautiful and has been re-purposed into this amazing dress.
The dress has a V neck and long sleeves that each end in a pouf made out of a black silk satin that gives them an interesting finish. This same silk satin is used on a curving line along the inset seams to highlight how the sleeves are set into the bodice. This curve is set so that it goes up and around to meet at the back of the neck. The waist has been left loose and easy so that the dress is very comfortable to wear. It does come with a matching black silk satin sash that hooks to close with flat hook and eye that was not photoed with the dress. It will be shipped with the dress though and it does create a more cinched in feel if you wish. From the waist seam, the skirt falls to the ground, widening out from the hip and set into the waist with soft gathers. The fabric is a black with a soft red pattern worked through it that has pops of white. The workmanship and construction are immaculate and this combination of old and new make it a unique and very visually interesting dress. Excellent condition
Unlined and closes with a back zipper. Each cuff snaps to close with a hidden, fabric covered snap. Note that this comes with a matching black silk satin sash that hooks to close with flat hook and eye that was not photoed. It will be shipped with the dress and does create a more cinched in feel if you wish

The Western world in the twenties to fifties had a special fascination with the far Eastand this highly influenced the fashion of that time period. Japan and China especially began to export and sell pieces made specifically for the tourist market that combined classic design elements of the respective cultures with a slight western twist to the cut and colors. You often will see the shorter jackets come up for sale but the coats are a little harder to find and far more versatile in my opinion. These were the most prized both then and now. This one is stunning and done in a high grade, fine red silk with off white detailing to contrast the cuffs, collar, front and hem. Over this is is embroidered with absolutely brilliant colors. The floral pattern in its soft pastel tones and the overall design are exquisite. Its lovely and light so easy to wear. This one is not 100% perfect but still has lots of life left to it if you don't mind wearing vintage with a flaw or two. Presents as excellent condition at first glance but does have flaws as noted below.
Fully lined in red tissue silk, it closes with frog knots at the front. In person it is a more vibrant red with a slight cherry cast to it. There is a dark mark at the front and the fabric has thinned, I see grubbiness and spots to the cuffs, fraying along the side slits, on one arm and some small interior fraying and shattering. I have photoed all the areas and these photos can be seen after the label shot. It is in fabulous shape other then these areas. Priced accordingly. The loose cut should fit a range of sizes. This is sold in as found condition and as a final sale.

I Have a Question
This is a remarkable coat or full length dress, that was constructed with a level of hand work that is getting harder and harder to find. The photos do not come close to doing it justice. It is not 100% perfect but its construction and beauty far out weigh its few flaws. The exterior is extensively covered with a beautiful crewel embroidery technique that is done by hand. Despite its age the colors are still fresh and vibrant. The design work is exceptional. Dense embroidery work form beautiful bouquets of flowers that circle all around the hem, cover the upper back and run down each sleeve. The collar is a soft rounded notch collar and this is embroidered with flowers that then trail down the front. The hand embroidered design is a pattern of soft flowers and leaves in a variety of pastels, an unusual color choice against the red, but one that works. The base is a fine and light deep red colored wool and I love the sweeping cut of the lower portion. Every detail is perfect down to the hand embroidered buttons. You can wear this as a spectacular evening coat, or because it does do fully up you can wear it on its own as a dress, or keep it as a boudoir piece. It is exquisite and a testament to the great craftsmanship and highly skilled technique that is rapidly being lost. Presents as excellent condition but has a couple of small flaws noted below.
Fully lined in red silk and closes with those amazing button and loops at the front. I see a dark discoloration on the back of one sleeve and some light marks where it was folded for many years and faded slightly, these go all the way around and are less visible in real life then how they photoed. Please review the last two photos for these areas. I have also included detail photos showing the hand work on the embroidery. The red is a touch more vibrant in person. Please remember that pieces of this age will have a natural patina and should not be expected to be absolutely perfect (though this is close).

I Have a Question
This is a wonderful dress from the fifties that is beautifully feminine and romantic in feel. It is so rare to find these really outstanding fifties pieces any more and I am extra appreciative when they come into the shop. The fabric that has been used for the base is a lightweight soft cotton mix. It is almost surprising to see such a light and supple fabric used for a structured dress like this. It is all the work on the inside that give it the lines that you see. The skirt is cut to be very full. It has a built in underskirt that is made of a starched/stiffened muslin that is then finished with a layer of tulle along the bottom for volume. I then photoed it with an additional crinoline underneath of that layer so you can get a true sense of the volume that is there. You could even go fuller if you wished. If you chose to wear it with no crinoline you would still get a lot of volume and movement. The structure through the bodice comes from the extensive ribbon embellishment. This has been hand applied onto the fabric so that is completely covers the bodice to the waist and then tapers off into pretty tendrils as it trails down and over the skirt. The ribbon on all of these places panels has been shaped and made by hand out of an ivory crinkle ribbon and then the panels hand sewn into place onto the dress. Ivory silk cord is stitched around the tendrils of the skirt so they have a more finished feel. The applique work runs over the full front and back of the dress and add a beautiful 3D element to it. The waist is nipped in and the bodice is sleeveless with a sweetheart neckline at the front and a dipped back. This is a really outstanding example of the work being done during this time period. Overall excellent condition with some very minor notes to review below.
The bodice is lined with the same blue fabric as the exterior and the skirt has a built in skirt as described above. The dress closes with a side metal zipper. Note in person the blue is slightly more a true baby blue and the ribbon has a slightly more ivory tone to it and it not a true stark white. There is a very slight storage spot on the ribbon on the top of one shoulder (see the very last photo) and perhaps some slight grubbiness to the ribbon along the edges here and there but this is more a cause from time and natural patina. I am being extremely picky. The hand work in the dress is easily seen from the back. The crinoline used in the styling is not include.

I Have a Question
This is a wonderful 1960s jumpsuit that is made from a pretty metallic brocade that has a raised pattern woven through it. It combines a soft pink with pops of a pale lavender and these are woven directly into the fabric along with a gold thread. The pattern is that of little circles all attached like a honeycomb with the gold thread. This along with the way the thread is applied gives the fabric a textured, slightly poufed effect. This covers the jumpsuit from shoulder to hem so that the entire piece has a golden tinge to it - even more apparent in person then how it photoed here. The fabric is the perfect contrast to the heavily embellished neckline and waist. The neckline is cut onto a deep V at the front that plunges right down to the embellished waist. A wide band of primarily gold lurex braiding accents the neckline and circles the waist. Mixed in with the gold are faux pearls, pink beads and sequins and silver thread that are all set by hand to define that neck and waist. Below the waist the legs are cut extra wide. At first glance it appears to actually be a skirt but as soon as you move you realize that it is really very wide cut pant legs. At the hem of each leg they are a full 63" all the way around. Wider then some skirts on their own. It is even better in person as the gold has more of a presence then how it photoed. Excellent condition

I Have a Question
The finish on this gorgeous little fifties number is very well executed. It is beautifully constructed and made from a very high quality moire silk taffeta. It is unlabeled but has the feel and construction of a high end piece. The warped floral design that covers the silk is a work of art on its own. The warp weave effect gives the print a soft, watercolor feel and the purple and pastel turquoise tones pop off of the black backdrop. Every line in the dress is a study in thought and detail. The bodice is shaped to curve around the bust and the neckline is cut straight across and set high at the front. The back dips into a low V that gives a flash of bare skin. It is sleeveless and the waist is nipped in with a wide band of fabric that wraps around to the back. At the back there is a huge flat bow that anchors the V and is the same width as that waist banding. The skirt has a great deal of fabric in its construction and it wraps down and around the hem and then is caught up underneath with the silk lining. The way it is cut creates that pouf bubble effect that you see. It is very chic and very pretty. Excellent condition.
The bodice is unlined and the skirt is fully lined in a black silk and the skirt has built in tulle to give it more volume at the hem especially. It closes with a back painted metal zipper and the bow snaps into place for an unbroken line. Hand finishes. It appears to have been worn very little if at all.

I Have a Question
This is a wonderful dress from the fifties that is very striking and beautiful. All of the applique work you see has been placed and sewn by hand. The cost to replicate a dress like this today would be astounding. The exterior fabric is unusual in that it is an extremely fine black netting. This fabric choice has just enough weight to it to give the dress some structure and body, but is also very light and adds to the floating feel of the dress. Built under this is a more fitted bodice and the skirt has several layers of tulle between that top layer and the inner lining. The skirt is cut to be very full and you could easily add a crinoline underneath so you can get even more volume than what you see in the photos of the dress on its own. Even shown without a crinoline the dress still has a lot of volume and movement to it. Hand applied onto the dress from shoulder to hem is an enchanting design created by hand applied embroidered lace. This curves over the front and side of the dress in a beautiful trailing design. It also wraps around the waist and covers the upper back. It has been placed by hand to perfectly follow the curves of the dress and than hand stitched into place. Detailing each of the lace flowers are an edging of glossy iridescent finished ivory sequins topped with a glass bead. This adds the perfect subtle glimmer and highlights the lace even more. The waist is nipped in for shape and the skirt if full. Above that sits a shaped interior bodice that is a looser fitting overlay. This is a really outstanding example of the work being done during this time period. Excellent condition with some minor notes to review below.
The bust and skirt both has built in bodice and interior skirts made of a black silky rayon. The skirt has two additional layers of tulle between the top layer and lining. The dress closes with a back metal zipper. There is a very slight darkening to the lace on one spot at the side and perhaps a touch of darkening to the lace at the back. I photoed both areas for you and these are shown after the label photo. I see on pinhole to the netting by the hem but it is strong and stable and very minor. There is what looks like tape reside inside the dress under the label. Note that is does have straps on the interior lining but I feel that they were added later to hang the dress as they are cut very short. I tucked them in for these photos. All very minor and I am being extremely picky. The hand work in the dress is easily seen from the back as shown.

I Have a Question
This is a beautiful red chiffon dress that has an overlay of the same chiffon fabric and that overlay is finished with a dramatic feather trim. The dress is made from two attached layers. The inner dress is more a sheath silhouette and is made of a layers of the chiffon, some interior fabric that gives it a slight bit of structure then it is lined. This construction of the interior also makes it opaque enough to wear. The outer layer is just a single layer of the chiffon so that you can see a bit of the shape of the body underneath. They are attached through the shoulders and upper bust. The outer layer also extends down into long slim cut sleeves that are also just a single layer of the chiffon. The top overlay layer floats to the floor over the inner dress to give it the feel of airiness and lightness and creating depth. It is trimmed with elaborate and dramatically dyed, matching red feathers. This is cut asymmetrically so that one side trails down farther then the other. Excellent condition
The inner dress is fully lined except for the upper shoulders and sleeves. The overlay is unlined. The dress closes with a back, hand set painted metal zipper and each cuff has a snap. There is the slightest darkening to the fabric on the hem of the inner dress. It looks like a shadow when the dress is on and does not deter at all. The chiffon is a synthetic and I see no signs of excessive shedding of the feathers at all.

I Have a Question
This is a very pretty little dress from the 1950s that is a bot unusual with its bright purple color. It is made out of a netted lace type fabric and the pattern forms flowers that cover the entire dress. I love the pattern it forms and the pretty secondary patterns created by being set so closely together. The top layer is also set over an inner purple lining and this gives it a bit of depth. The front neckline is set fairly straight across and the back scoops down as well. It is cut to fit and accent your curves in that very va-voom fifties kind of way. It's a true wiggle dress with no vent set into the skirt to help when you walk it actually narrows down as it reaches the hem. Excellent condition

I Have a Question
This dress has no label but it quite wonderful and it is made well enough that it surely is a designer piece. I love the shape and cut - it is so simple but the elements used are so fabulous that it ends up being a piece that could still hold its own today. The fabric is gorgeous with a mixed palette of pastels with pops of vibrant color. Over this is a gold metallic thread woven through the fabric so that the entire surface has a golden sheen. It is also stitch quilted so that you get this wonderful subtle puffed feel. The neckline is cut in a V and the waistline is set higher up for a slight empire feel. A band of metallic brocade follows the V of the neck and circle the waist. From there is runs completely down the center to the hem. The banding is unusual as it uses colored lame thread to mimic jewels running down its entire length. The capped sleeves are finished with the same detailing to tie it altogether. I love how the skirt gently widens out as it reaches the hem and the high slut that runs up the center. And it has pockets! Excellent condition
Fully lined in a cream silk through the bodice and a cotton muslin through the skirt. It has hand finishes. It closes with a painted metal zipper at the back. The front is slit at the center as photoed. No labels but made well enough that it surely was a labeled piece.

I Have a Question
This is a fantastic sixties caftan with a luxe twist. The caftan is cut in a simple T shape that makes it very easy and comfortable to wear. The base is a woven cotton dyed to a deep blue. Onto this a design that is done from a gold lurex thread overlay. The completely covers the front of the caftan and runs down each sleeve. At the back there are two gold stripes. The design is quite beautiful and depicts double-headed eagles in and among curving vines and medallions. The gold against that deep blue backdrop id very striking. I love the ease of wearing a caftan at night and this one with its combination of blue and gold works wonderfully for just about any occasion. You can pair this with flats or heels and it would work either way. Excellent condition
Unlined and slips on to wear. It appears to have never been worn, or worn very little. It is cut generously but the fabric has no stretch. The easy cut will fit a range of sizes

I Have a Question
This black jersey jumpsuit has a touch of a Grecian goddess feel to it combined with some pretty fabulous draping. There is a a touch of Studio 54, disco era sexiness thrown in the mix as well. The jumpsuit simply slips on and zips up the back. The top is draped and cut loose with just a suggestion of sleeves created by the draping of the top and padding through the shoulders. I love how its caught up at the top of each shoulder and then again along the waist line. The waist is cinched and detailed with a wide, curving band of glossy black sequins for just a hint of shape between the loosely draped top and pants. The front plunges almost right to the waist but the placement of the fabric holds it in place so that you feel safe wearing it. The pants have an almost harem cut feel to them, with each leg narrowing in by the time they hit the ankles. They are cut to be slightly cropped and I included a photo with the dress form, complete with the legs showing, so you can see where they fall. It is so sexy and very easy to wear. Excellent condition
Unlined and closes at the back with a zipper. Elastic through the waist. The fabric does have stretch but the waist is a fixed measurement. Padding in each shoulder and pockets along each hip.
Shoulders: no true seam and set to sit a touch wide

This is a darling little coat from the sixties that is a great representation of its era. It is unlabeled but well made and packs lots of style in its design. The body of the coat is made from a black wool jersey that helps it to hold its slightly flared shape. The sleeves and upper portion of the coat are more fitted and then the skirting flares out in a neat little A-line under that. It closes with a series of buttons down the front that are set off-side and run along the edge of the fur trim. I am not a fur expert but think it is perhaps a mink. The ivory fur with its grey tines tips, runs around the collar and down the front. Hidden pockets along each hip. Excellent condition
Fully lined in a silky rayon sating and closes with the buttons down the front. Pocket on each hip. The pelts are supple and I see no excessive shedding. Well made with properly finished button holes.

I have a small collection of historically important, key designer labelled vintage furs and fur trimmed pieces stored away in my archives that I will be slowly posting on the site over the next couple of years until I have none left. I will no longer be buying furs for the shop moving forward and have not purchased anything for several years now. I feel like times have changed and while there still is a place for vintage furs for some, including collectors and historians, many modern girls are choosing other options. Many of the pieces in my collection are representative of the designer during a set time period in history that was different then our modern outlook. I have decided that the best course to handle this controversial issue is to let the pieces I have go rather then sit in a cold storage unit. Fur coats are final sale.
I Have a Question
I love this little dress from the early 1950s, maybe the late 1940s, with its covering of flowers made from a taupe ribbon tape that is twisted and shaped to form the design. These are attached to a net base in the same color and then that is layered over an inner ivory taupe lining. The effect is very pretty. I have a soft spot for these ribbon dresses - the work to make the fabric is mind boggling and they have such a fascinating texture to them. The dress itself is a simple sheath that skims over the body. It has little capped sleeves and a simple curved neckline. There is a matching slip belt that is made from the same fabric and this can be used to cinch in the waist and create shape. It is unlabeled but a great little find that is very unique. Excellent condition
Fully lined in a ivory taupe silk and closes at the back with a hand set zipper. Has a matching slip buckle belt that is backed in a grosgrain ribbon. Hand finishes. There are snaps on the belt so hold the end in place - these could easily be moved to make it perfect for you. The close up photo of the fabric is the closest to the actual color.

I Have a Question
This is one of those absolutely beautiful printed silk dresses that you can only find from the 1940s. It was definitely stored properly for all these years because the colors in the print are as crisp and vibrant as the day it was made. The base of the dress is a deep chocolate brown and then onto this are beautiful sprigs of flowers that have the feel of being hand painted onto the fabric, even though they are of course screened on. The cut is fitted with a high neck that has a neat little pointed collar. The sleeves are capped and the waist is seamed for fit. The skirt is very interesting in its construction. At the front, it wraps over itself and has a curved panel that shows a bit of leg when you move. At the back it is gathered into the waist seam for a little fullness and falls longer then it does at the front. On each side a panel of fabric wraps partially around the hip and then is caught in a loop of fabric on the front of each hip and falls to the hem. This is a very pretty detailing and one I have not seen before. Excellent condition with one minor note below
Unlined and closes with a back painted metal zipper. There is just the slightest touch of color change to the tops of the shoulders - it will not even photo but is mentioned for accuracy. I don't think it impacts at all when on.

I Have a Question
This thirties dress and jacket set are beautiful. It is getting harder and harder to find pieces from this era is this kind of quality. The dress is bias cut and made form a textured silk crepe that is covered in a bright and vibrant floral print. It is completely cut on the bias so drapes and moves to fit you perfectly from the second you slip it over your head. The front is cut in a halter style with a double set of tiny straps from which the entire dress suspends. I love how the fabric is folded over at the neckline for added detail and how the back dips down to show a little skin. Below the bodice the silk skims over the waist and flows into the skirt which then sweeps to somewhere between mid-calf or ankle depending on your height. Topping this is a little open, cropped jacket made of the same fabric. It has little cuffed capped sleeves which perfectly tie into the bodice on the dress. The silk is light in weight and moves beautifully. The colors are pretty and feminine with that gorgeous abstract floral design covering the entire surface. Truly a beauty and one of the best of the period I have had in. Excellent condition
Both pieces are unlined. The jacket slip on with no front closures and the dress has a small opening at the back that closes with hook and eye bit otherwise just slips over the head. Some boning at the back along where it hooks to close to keep it from dropping down. Hand finished. The bias cut does allow for some give and the measurements are what is the comfortable range while lying flat

I Have a Question
This is an absolutely gorgeous example of ready-to-wear in the 1950s. The silk that it is made out of is beautiful. It is a fine silk twill that is comparable in weight to that of the silk used for Hermes scarves but with more structure to it so that the shape is held. The print is screened onto the silk in a pattern of vibrant little pink flowers. These are screened over the entire dress and pop wonderfully off the black backdrop. The shoulders are rounded and there is no seam there to break the line. The sleeves fall to the elbow and each is cut straight so they have a bit of width to them. The dress is cut to skim over the body rather then hug it. I love the two little flat set bows that sit on either side of the waist. These add a pretty touch and also help to highlight the inverted pleats that run along the sides of the skirt. Excellent condition.
Fully lined in a semi-sheer black silk organza and closes with a back painted metal zipper. It appears to have been worn very little if at all. There is evidence that the side seams were let out a little above the waist. Photo is after the label photo

I Have a Question
This great little caftan from the sixties in unlabeled but still a great find. It is made from a flat pile, printed velveteen. The print is a combination of paisley mixed within an elaborate and exotic feeling design. The fabric is very pliable and not at all heavy in weight so that once on it drapes very well. The flat pile of the velveteen gives it a wonderful and unexpected texture. The body of the caftan is cut very full and open with very wide sleeves that comes out from the sides. The sleeves are cut simply and straight rather then narrowing as they reach the cuff. The neckline is scooped but with a zipper that ends at the bottom of the front detailing so you can open it a bit if you wish. I love the gold metallic cord that is used to detail the front of the neck and each cuff. Both cuffs and the front are also edged in rows of black, red and green sequins that border the gold for a touch of color. The gold cord used adds some structure to the cuffs and neck and really pop against the print. Excellent condition.
Unlined and slips over the head. A painted metal zipper at the front bib. There is very light patina tot he gold cording. This is from normal wear and age and adds to the vintage feel of the piece. The easy cut will allow this to fit most sizes

I Have a Question
This supermodel length silk brocade evening coat is incredible. It did have a label in it at one time but there is only the faint outline of it left anymore. It is certainly well made and striking enough to have been a designer piece. I love the silk brocades that were being produced during this time period and this one does not disappoint. The coat is exquisite in person and even better then how it photoed. The coat is made from a beautiful embroidered brocade done in the palest of greens. The pattern is created by different thread finishes and the texture of the design done by a stitched edge in the same shade of green that runs around the outlines of the pattern. To heighten this effect, the top portion of the over-sized notched collar has been densely finished with a combination of different types of beads and faux pearls. These are set in a heavy pattern of loops and dangles so the collar has a real 3D feel to it. The lines of the coat are beautiful and very representative of this time period. The inner ivory satin is rich in feel and the perfect contrast to the touch of color on the exterior. It buttons in a double row to just past the hip and then the shape gradually widens out as it nears the hem. Slanted pockets sit on each hip and it has the lines a a glamorous, glammed up, military great coat. It is so chic and so rich feeling - you would be hard pressed to find anything like it again. It was undoubtedly a custom piece. Excellent condition with one very minor note below.
Fully lined in a beautiful ivory satin. The coat closes with fabric covered buttons down the front. Pockets along the inset front seams. One half of the coat still has its original fabric edge at the bottom hem. This is actually a tacked on bit of fabric that covers the hem to keep it safe and clean. Once this finds it new owner this can be removed as the other size has been at some point in its history. This would have been there since it was first put out for sale and shows that it was most likely never worn. I see one scuff to the inner lining near the back hem.

I Have a Question
This dress is not perfect but is just too pretty and still has too much life left in it not to have someone love it. It is made from an early rayon jersey that has a touch of stretch to it so is very easy to wear. The design on it is very pretty. A beautiful floral design is done in a purple print that is set on an off-white, ivory backdrop. It is an unusual color to have used for this time period and it is quite amazing that the color is still strong and true. The cut is simple and sweet with a dipped neckline and soft gathered pleating. The waist nips in and the dress has its original slip buckle belt that you can use to cinch it in further. The skirt is cut swing style and gently curves away from the more fitted hip area. An inverted pleat runs down the front for a little extra detail and to give it a bit more volume when you move. Really a pretty little piece. Presents as great condition.
Unlined and closes with a side metal zipper. There is maybe the slightest of grubbiness near the seam under each arm but it does not show when on and does not detract at all because of the print. There has been some disintegration to some of the thread along the front pleating on the skirt and I see the occasion 'picking' or snag in fabric here and there. This is all patina form being worn, washed and loved and given the age of the dress I have just priced it low. It is strong and sturdy and very wearable still

I Have a Question
I have seen versions of this dress float around with a Gucci label and the print certainly is reminiscent of the Flora Fauna print. However, the quality of this dress does not seem to me to be in line with the Gucci pieces from this time period I have seen. I have had this tucked away for some time and was never able to satisfy the mystery of this dress to my satisfaction. That said, it is too pretty to hang in my archives and I think it is time for it to go out there. The dress is made out of a synthetic , silk rayon jersey that holds the color very well. The print covers the entire dress with the collar, waist and hem edged in a contrasting purple. I love how the print splays into the the purple borders at the waist and hem. It is almost as if the flowers are growing over the borders. It has a V neck, high set waist and is cut to skim over the body rather then hug. It is a pretty little thing no matter what its heritage ends up being. Very good condition
Unlined and closes at the back with a metal and nylon zipper. There is one small smudge on the front but it is minor. This fabric gets a bit 'soft' as it ages. Hence the very good condition rating rather then excellent. There is nothing really wrong with it - just a natural patina that comes with normal wear and wash. The fabric has some stretch

This evening coat is incredible. I love the silk brocades from this time period and this one does not disappoint. The coat is exquisite in person and even better then how it photoed. The coat is made from a beautiful embroidered brocade that has gold and silver threads running through it. There are also threads in tones of pink and the combination of that against the soft ivory of the base. Even though the entire coat has a metallic glint to it, the soft pastel palette used makes it seem subtle and refined. The lines of the coat are beautiful and very representative of this time period. I love the rounded and padded collar and how the snap is set in at its end so when closes you get a complete circle effect. The inner silk is stitched in a intricate design that gives hidden detailing that only the wearer will know about until the coat opens or you take it off. It buttons to just past the hip and the shape gradually widens out as it nears the hem. It is so chic and so rich feeling - you would be hard pressed to find anything like it again. It was undoubtedly a custom piece. Excellent condition
Fully lined in a beautiful ivory silk that is stitched in an Asian pattern all around the under edges. In the sixties and into the seventies, caftan fever was at an all time high. This fabulous red and white print one combines a gorgeous little cut with a fabulous mix of prints. It is perfect to be worn day or evening. I love everything about the lines of this piece. The shoulders are slim with a contrasting printed bob effect neckline that has a slit opening for a little extra skin to show. This same print that adorns the front also runs across the back and then each sleeve is finished with that same print. Each sleeve is cut wide and flares out as it nears the end with the print giving it extra contrast. It is gathers in through the waist and there is a matching tie belt that allows you to cinch it in if you wish. From there the skirt falls in a gradually widening curve. It is made of a soft cotton that is custom screened in the two distinctive prints. A really fabulous and wearable caftan. Excellent condition

I Have a Question
These little 1950s Hawaiian dresses are wonderful and are cut to give you curves. They have such a classic silhouette that they still feel fresh even after 50+ years. This one is unlabelled and would have most likely come directly out of Hawaii in the movement that was set up to cater directly to the thriving tourist market of that era. These sarong styled sun dresses were worn by Hollywood starlets and girls bought them in droves to emulate their favorite stars. I love the sarong style skirting with its attached illusion of a wrap skirt complete with a draped panel of fabric that flows down one side of waist. This one is boned and shaped through the bodice for support and the neckline has a folded over panel of fabric that follows the neckline and adds a pretty detailing to it. The print is a pretty mix of two shaded of green on a white backdrop that mixes flowers and pineapples. It is very pretty and very flattering on. The fabric is still crisp feeling and it appears to have been worn very little. Excellent condition
