The entire set is constructed of layers of netting - some hand painted with those fantastic gold dots and some left black. It is almost indescribable as to the cut and silhouette as it is tucked here with a seam, tacked there with a stitch, deliberately puffed there and buttons are offset, close with the seam protruding out, seams finished, seams left un-constructed ....the details are endless and stunning. This collection "contained fusions of menswear and elements culled from Victorian women's wear" It is easy to see that feel in this piece with its elaborate shape and form. The fabric is hand painted with large gold dots and the set weighs almost nothing since it is entirely constructed from netting. The skirt and jacket can literally be worn inside out - I have styled it as the tags inside dictate but you could turn either inside out and wear the opposite. A mannequin does this ensemble little justice - it needs the quirky, fabulous girl that Rei Kawakubo intended to wear it! The original price on this set at retail was almost $4000. Excellent condition

Shoulders: no defined seam
Bust: 18" flat across from side seam to side seam
Waist: 15" flat across from side seam to side seam
Total length: 26" from mid-neck to bottom dip of hem at back, the front curves up to 9" shorter

Skirt
Waist: 16" flat across the back from side seam to side seam
Hips: 20" flat across the back from side seam to side seam
Total length: 29" from waist seam to bottom hem

Note the skirt is meant to either sit low on the hip or to be cinched and draped around the waist by adding a belt through the loops. It did not actually come with a belt when purchased - you are meant to add your own.

The jacket closes with fabric covered double buttons on the exterior. The skirt closes with a side buttons and hook and eye at the waist. Tagged a M.

  • The final payment is due two weeks after the second payment and shipping will be billed on this invoice as well.
  • items less then $500, or that are on sale, require a 50% deposit with the final payment due in two weeks from the date of deposit
