1970s Silk Chiffon Jean Varon Maxi Dress
This 1970s silk chiffon goddess dress by the great Jean Varon is constructed with a layer of eggplant hued silk chiffon cascading from the shoulders. A second layer of silk is set from the neckline so it acts like a romantic, feminine capelet. Underneath the top is cut halter style so your bare shoulders peep through that topmost layer. The skirt is a wide Aline cut so there is a lot of fabric in there and you get a fantastic amount of movement. It is really a lovely piece that drapes perfectly and feel shockingly fresh and modern! Absolutely fantastic and in excellent condition!
Bust: 19" flat across the back from side seam to side seam
Waist: open
Hips: open
Length: 58" from back of the center neck to bottom hem
The dress is fully lined in a silky purple rayon that acts as an inner dress under the silk chiffon exterior. It closes with a back painted metal zipper.
