1920s Unlabeled French Couture Bead & Metallic Thread Black Silk Tunic
My photos come close but still cannot convey how special this top is. It looks so shockingly modern and fresh that it will literally blow you over when you see it in person. The workmanship is extraordinary. It was completely made by hand and the bead and metal thread embroidery work on it is amazing. Teeny tiny seed beads are hand applied to the collar, down the front and on each sleeve. Beads have also been used to make the decorative 'pocket' shapes at the front of each hip. The shape is perfectly twenties with a loose body that is brought in at each side of the hem by a series of silk covered buttons and loops. These fold the silk in under them so the bottom of the tunic is brought in to create the shape that you see. The bead work is placed to emphasize the silhouette and i love the mix of red, blue and gold glass seed beads used. Interspersed in the design is an embroidered metal thread that offers a subtle bit of texture to the top. If you love it in the pictures you will be extraordinarily happy when it arrives. It is in extremely good condition and has its Made in France tag and size tag intact and if someone told me it was a Chanel or the equivalent I would not be surprised. It is strong and wearable with care - it is after all almost 100 years old. A true work of art. Excellent condition.
Unlined and slip on to wear. Buttons at each side with a series of silk covered button and loops. Has it's original Made in France tag and its size 38 tag as shown. There is the slightest bit of thinning on one tiny spot under one arm. Please see the photo after the label photos. The loose fit will allow it to fit a range of sizes

Note that antique and twenties pieces are final sale. They will be packed exceedingly well and we only sell pieces that will stand up to the stress of shipping, however, having pieces potentially shipped multiple times through multiple customs and countries is too hard on garments that are historically important and deserve to be treated with love and care. Please purchase accordingly.
This garment has been professionally cleaned, pressed and is odor free. Thoroughly checked over before shipping, it will be ready to wear upon arrival.

SIZE GUIDE
Please review all measurements carefully. More often than not, vintage garments do not fit any size category exactly. If in doubt, measure a garment of your own that fits and is a similar cut and compare it's measurements to the listed measurements below.
