1920s Amazing Beaded Ombre Flapper

Really unusual 20s dress that is so avant garde I die every time I look at it! Its a silk crepe - cut on the bias in that classic flapper cut - a simple bodice, scooped in the front and back that goes straight into a swingy flippy skirt. This one has miles of fabric in the skirt so is actually very full and has a lot of movement when you move. It is solidly beaded with a opaque silver tube glass bead mixed with soft pastels blue, pinks and creams. The design is that of little exquisite pagodas mixed with flowers. That design runs all through the bodice and then is repeated on the skirt six full times so it circles the entire skirt! What is really extraordinary is the ombre dye that makes the dress go from a pale pale mint at the shoulders to† deep meadow green as it nears the hem. Darker bits of dye run through the fabric so you get an additional interesting textured effect. The thread at the back is done to follow the color but it does appear that the fabric was deliberately dyed like this prior to the application of the bead-work. Just extraordinary!† Strong and wearable with the care and love it deserves to be shown - this is one of the most unusual 1920s pieces I have ever seen. The level of work in this piece would only be found in the highest couture of today! It is really a rare and unusual piece.
