Very rare, 1st Edition London Series Poster Dress "Cat" was designed by Harry Gordon in 1968. This is the cat and is extremely graphic and dramatic on both the front and back. Made of screen-printed tissue, wood pulp and rayon mesh these were all the rage. Most did not survive as they were meant to be worn and disposed of. At the time of their release the manufacturer stated "Toughness is woven into the non-woven fabric for long, l-o-n-g wear, and should you tire (which is doubtful), just cut open all the seams and hang it on your wall as a poster, or cover pillows."
Suitable for the collector and would be a stunning mid-century work of art if framed. There are five in total and this for me is the best print of the five! Examples of these are found in museums world-wide. An iconic and rare piece of fashion history!
Original packaging. One small loose spot along a seam (I can repair prior to sending if requested to do so) two small marks from storage. No attempt to remove these have been made and they may come out if treated by a professional - in theory these were billed as being washable but this is sold as found. Otherwise excellent.
NOTE the photos make it appear yellowish along one side - it is not! The flat pics of the back and front off the mannequin are the true color

A rare and wonderful find, this is am amazing and complete three piece suit by Chanel! Everything about it showcases how gorgeous clothing can be when attention is paid to every last detail. Absolutely beautifully cut and classic Chanel! Just the feel of the fabric and the perfection of the cut of each piece as you slip it on will make you feel like you are wearing something special. The skirt is a deep navy. fine wool fabric lined in silk and kept simple and straight. The tops and jacket pick up that navy and work in red, white and blue striping mixed with the classic boucle on the jacket. The shell top is sleeveless and has just a pop pf glitz with the gold buttons! Both The skirt and top have buttons embossed with the Chanel number 5 perfume bottle! The jacket is edged with the same striped silk that top is constructed from and this is the perfect contrast to the chunky boucle. Chanel Rue 5 embossed gold toned buttons adorn each sleeve and are the perfect pop against the front pockets. All three pieces are labeled and also have the Bergdorf labels. Note the perfection of how the strips in the silk on the edge of the jacket at the front line up with each other! It is a testament to couture level construction in every way and absolutely gorgeous! It is very rare to find all three pieces in these earlier suitings! Excellent condition. Item# DD905

Rare and fabulous hippie chic 1970s silk chiffon set that is absolutely beautiful and a fantastic example of Giorgio di Sant'Angelo's work and aesthetic. He first hit the fashion map when Diana Vreeland asked him to design clothing for a desert location shoot that starred Verushka in 1968. This shoot is legendary and his clothing was instantly sought out by all the most fashionable women on the planet! In 1976 he dropped the "di" from his name meaning that this is a pre-1976 piece, making it even more collectible! His pieces were sexy, bold and had a hippie flair to them that few other designers could match at the time. This set is quintessentially chic and has that "Stevie Nicks" feel to it. The skirt falls in points and moves fantastically - its entirely made of a layer over a layer of feather light screened silk chiffon. The top wraps and sits just at the waist line of the skirt. It captures that same floating feeling with layers chiffon sleeves. Blue suede patches adorn each shoulder and highlight the waist. Museum quality condition and exceptional. It is romantic, sexy and fabulous!
The top is lined through the body with white silk chiffon and the sleeves are left unlined. It wraps and ties to close. The skirt has a lining made of a double layer of the same fabric that ends just above the knee with the top layer over that. It close with zipper and hidden hook & eye on the waistband.

Trained in textiles, every Zandra Rhodes piece is a really wearable art. Her vintage pieces are extremely collectible and this late 1970s, early 1980s dress is just amazing! It is very feminine and romantic in feel with its pale ballet slipper pink silk chiffon fabric. This has been panted in a a deeper hue of pink and a soft grey in an abstract rounded pattern. The neck drapes and is highlighted with its own necklace of glass pearls! It is like wearing built in jewels! Each sleeve is open along its topped and that opening and the edge of each cuff is edged in pearls as well. The body of the dress is cut loose and draped with a low skirt. The skirt has glass pearls adoring its entire hem and is set in pretty tiny gathers along its pointed dropped seam. An amazing and gorgeous dress! Excellent condition! Item# DD910

This is a fabulous, beyond belief rare, silk crepe chiffon skirt and top set, designed by Ossie Clark with a stunning Celia Birtwell print. It is just insanely fabulous and smashingly beautiful! The silk is hand screened with two of Celia's prints, each highlighting the cut and design of the pieces. Because it is two pieces it is also remarkably versatile - you can wear them together or mix them up with modern separates from your existing closet. The top is classic Ossie with a deep plunging front and sexy keyhole. The bottom flares out over the skirt. This perfectly balance the ruffled hem on the skirt too. The skirt skim over the hips and flares out. All the fabric is cut on the bias and the entire outfit is just remarkable. A matched full set is hard to come by and this is like getting three outfits in one - two separates and what looks like a dress when they are worn together, The fact that the entire thing has two of Celia's iconic prints just makes it better! Excellent condition!
Both pieces are unlined. The top slips over the head with a tie at the base of the keyhole at the front and the skirt closes with a side painted metal zipper and a button at the waist. Note the color is more opaque in person and closest to the color in the label photograph.

This may be the most fantastic gown that Mr Blass ever produced! Hand dyed silk crepe that has a stunning texture to it is the basis of this masterpiece. The gown itself is simple and perfect - a boned strapless bodice tops a flowing silk skirt that flows to the floor. Simple but not as every detail is utterly perfect and the fabric itself is literally a work of art. It would have been hand dipped and dyed to make that incredible ombre palette of mixed colors. At once sublime and refined mixed with boldness and beauty. It weighs ounces and is composed of two layers of the same fabric - each dyed slightly different so the color has more depth and texture had he lined it in a solid. You will feel like it floats around you and that you have been transformed into a goddess. A matching hand dyed silk square of fabric acts as a shawl. Astonishingly beautiful and a true example of how extraordinary great design can be when cut and fabric are married to perfection. Excellent condition

Waist: to 12' flat across from side seam to side seam

The entire dress is made of two layers of the hand dyed silk crepe chiffon which adds an extra dimension of depth and interest to the color & design. Both sides of the bodice have boning. It closes with a side hidden zipper. Hand finished. A pinhole or two that I had my seamstress put a stitch to secure and ensure that they are absolutely stable. They in no way detract or mar the gown.

An amazing and very very rare over sized Alaia trench coat in a textured glossed nylon fabric by Azzedine Alaia. This piece captures the hey day pf the over-sized, voluminous movement of the 1980s perfectly! It s a play on the classic male trench but done in exaggerated proportions and using a glossy sexy nylon fabric. It closes with a double set of buttons at the front and then you can cinch in the waist. I have shown it on my size 4-6 mannequin with rolled sleeves so you can see how a smaller girl would wear it. It would look equally well in a girl from 2-4 sizes up from there too! It makes a statement and has ll the cut and couture level quality you expect to find in an Alaia! It is an amazing piece† - not your typical Alaia and yet it represents him perfectly! Excellent condition

Rare, red lace couture level dress from the infamous Hardy Amies. This dress is absolutely beautiful and the lace work is astounding. It is hand made lace on a fine netting all done to create beautiful, feminine flowers. The lace lies over a second layer of red net and then there is a full under skip built inside as well. The skirt is fairly full and gives the feel of a fuller skirt with it's gently widening A-line silhouette. The bodice has a pretty silk chiffon edging in a sweetheart bust line. I love how the lace finishes in a scallop at the bottom and a delicate and pretty layer of silk chiffon circles under it all the way around the hem. It has it's original belt that finishes the dress with a pretty bow and even that is made of lace! Museum worthy and in great condition! Item# DD930

This late 1960s, early 1970s chiffon caftan dress by Jean Varon has layers beautifully printed chiffon that cascades down to the ground. Everything about this piece is dramatic and bold. All of the layers flow and create a fantastic, romantic and grand statement. The skirt flows to the floor and has three layers - the inner, ore fitted skirt, over which a layer of solid red chiffon floats over. Over this is a shorter and fuller layer of that beautifully printed chiffon. The waist nips in and a sash in the same fabric can be ties loose as shown or wrapped for a more exotic look. The bodice is stunning - wide kimono feel sleeves in the same double layer of chiffon as the skirt are worked so that they come out from the waist in a wide design. The neckline is scooped and the neckline has triangular flags of chiffon that float over it. I love that each sleeve is finished with two tassels that dangle from their longest points! Excellent, seemingly unworn condition. Item# DD931

This OMO by Norma Kamali gown is a jewel! Supermodel length and made from yards and yards of pristine white, fluid jersey! It gives a strong nod to the turn of the century in style and has an amazing goddess feel. The skirt is a full 54" in length and cascades form the empire waist in a flowing, floating cascade of fabric. This is gathered just under the bust in an elastic waist and then a short, sexy bodice sits above that. The neckline is also elastic so can be worn on or off the shoulders. Each should poufs out from the neck and then turns into a skinny sleeve of fabric that is worn bunched up along the arm as they are each equally as long. The gown is heavy to pick up because of how much fabric was used but is shockingly light and airy feeling when on because of the fine grade jersey used. This is Kamali at her best and it is in museum quality, seemingly unworn condition.
Sleeves: approx 27"
Shoulders: no defined seams and can be worn on or off the shoulders

This amazing Alexander McQueen gown was made infamous after appearing on the red carpet of the Met gala on super model Coco Rocha! She wore the navy version of this Pre-Fall 2011 gown. It was only produced in those two shades and in extremely limited quantities exclusive to only the Alexander McQueen shops and Net-A-Porter. You can still view it on the first page of this collection on the Alexander McQueen site. It encapsulates everything that is great about McQueen aesthetic - the fantasy, the superior workmanship, the spectacle and of course the jaw dropping beauty! The dress is a confection of bias cut weightless silk that floats to the ground over an inner layer of silk. The yardage in that top layer is astonishing - it is so fine and of such high grade fabric that until you begin to lift and view it closely you don't realize that there is actually yards and yards and yards there. The bodice is gathered vertically from waist to the embellished neck with a keyhole running down the front. The neckline is heavily embellished with dazzling crystals. To this is a hip piece that is shaped and has been hand applied with white feathers. More huge and high grade crystals adorn the waist of the pelmet waist piece in a thick band that circles the waist. The combination of high romance and stark rawness was part of the genius of McQueen and it lives on in this stunning gown. A rare piece as these were made in very limited quantities - it is a masterpiece! Excellent condition and was never worn by my client and has been meticulously stored since purchasing.

I love this amazing and brilliant silk floral Prada runway dress from the 2008 Resort collection. I remember drooling over it as it hung in all its $15,000 dollar glory at the Prada boutique. I never dreamed I would have it in my hands one day! This was one of the most infamous of all Miuccia's designs and sold out world-wide shortly after being released in extremely limited quantities. It was featured heavily in the ad campaign for that season and was worn by Lilli Allen and other celebrities. It graced the cover of Vogue and appeared in many other publications and editorials. It will forever be instantly recognized as one of the keystone pieces from Miuccia Prada's brilliant mind! It is also an amazing testament to the couture level construction techniques that the house of Prada employs. The bust is fitted and has a built in boned corseting under neath so you are held perfectly in place. The skirt is a masterpieces - it is deliberately and meticulously shaped and raped with great swoops of fabric draped over each hip and caught up at the zipper. A ruffle runs across the lower hen and underneath is ruffled edged silk skirting. I love the back where a row of tiny buttons and large ones give the impression that the dress has been left slightly undone. It gives it all a wanton and beguiling sexiness. In excellent, seemingly unworn condition.

Insanely sexy and absolutely fabulous Ossie Clark dress! This is everything you ant in an Ossie and more! Cut to mimic a thirties swing dress mixed with the overt sexuality of the seventies, it is all cut on the bias so it has perfect drape and movement once on. The dropped skirt is gathered along the front and then gently flares out so it swings around you when you move. The panel above this skims over your hips and waist and is cut on the bias so it follows your curves, The bodice is amazing - it is a draped and gathered with a deep, deep plunge at the front and under each arm. It manages to keep you covered and show lots of skin at the same time. The print is pure Celia Birtwell and both the Ossie Clark label states that it is her design and there is a second label with just that info as well. It is sexy, brilliant and iconic. This is a stunning and rare dress designed by Coty Award winning, Haitian born designer, Fabrice Simon. His clothes were worn by some of entertainments most famous names - Kathleen Turner, Natalie Cole, Ivana Trump and Whitney Houston, as well as top supermodels of the time - Iman, Beverly Johnson, Christy Brinkley and Jerry Hall! This gown is a column of a double layer of silk crepe is fabulous lemon yellow shade. Onto this are bold stars done with hand applied glossy black bugle beads. I love how the top of the bodice follows the edges of the stars and how they are set to give the illusion of length and curves. Fabrice was known to start a piece based on the beaded bits that he would design and have made and then built a dress around them! It is strapless but has a clever built in boned bodice that runs through the torso to hold it in place. The silk is very high grade and glides and flows over the body - the double layer gives it a little extra thickness so all flaws of the wearer are minimized. This was purchased by me from a New York dealer who bought it from the original owner who showed a picture of herself with Fabrice while wearing this dress, to him when he acquired it. It only has the Amen Wardy tag - which was also one of the few places you could buy Fabrice at the time. Excellent condition

ìWho would excite me if I went out at night?î Jil Sanderís, then designer Raf Simons asked himself when designing the S/S2011 collection. ìEveryone is in a tiny cocktail dress and extreme shoes. Iíd †be much more interested in seeing a girl in a ten-euro T-shirt and a couture skirt.î
So led the review on Vogue.com about this collection. This collection was called showstopping, genius and the to the floor skirts and gowns were instantly sold out and then waitlisted world wide. The proportions where daring and the cuts and drape perfection. This particular skirt was a stand out - it was used in the ad campaigns and was photographed on countless society girls, celebrities and adorned many magazine editorials. Raf has since gone on to high acclaim at Dior, making this now even more relevant and valuable to the collector. The skirt is customs screened silk and falls to the floor in a dramatic column of fabric. Pockets sit on each hip and the waist is masterfully and softly pleated. It was never worn and still has its original Jil Sander hang tag. Excellent, unworn condition.

Sexy, chic and with that jet set feel to it, this is a phenomenal numbered set from the house of Dior form the 1980s. Printed silk chiffon in shades of tauoes and caramels are set over a silk and silk chiffon base. The entire bodice is a woven masterpiece of macrame raffia and ribbon with matching braided raffia straps. The skirt feels like a sarong in style and the silk is placed and warped over the hips. Under this is a silk lining that has a fantastic finish of silk fringe that gives the dress tons of movement and visual interest. It has its original cropped silk chiffon jacket - it is also screened with that same pretty print and sits just above the waist of the dress when on. Its cut loose through the body with wild french cuff sleeves. Excellent condition. Item# DD947

Slightly insane yet still oddly fabulous this rare Carven strapless dress is a real find! From the late 70's it has the beginnings of what the next decade would bring to the fashion table - fabulous extravagance and exaggerated proportions. The body of the dress is strapless and fitted. A sleek silk satin interior is covered with black lace over which black silk ribbon is hand applied and twisted into little florets. This skims and hugs the body to the hips and then all craziness breaks loose. The lower portion of the hem explodes in a profusion of pleated ruffles and huge satin flowers at the front. The volume is perfectly balanced by the bareness of the shoulders and despite its over the top feel it somehow manages to stay to right side of the line for chic. Very rare piece. Excellent condition

My client purchased the skirt of this set in the Fall of 2003 and the jacket a season later. She was thrilled when she obtained the jacket as the texture is a good, solid match to the skirt and the proportion mimic the look of the intention of the Fall 2003 runway that the skirt was produced from. The skirt is very high waisted - it is formed to hug the torso to just under the bust in a tight sheath and then cascades out in a stylized version of its earlier fifties contemporaries. It actually has light boning through the sides and an inner skirt of silks and net that turn into four full layers under the top silk as it nears the hem. The construction is on par with couture and I love the tightly pleated hem detailing that is finished with a dyed fir trim! The jacket is as equally amazing. It is cut almost like a female tuxedo with a silk satin lapel and low hidden buttons. The inside collar is doubled with the inner facing striped in silk and the second under-collar the Asian feel silk brocade shown. It has its original, reversible belt that zips into place. Both pieces were meticulously sgored and cared for and are like new and in Museum quality! A rare and wonderful set with both pieces dating pre-death.
(note that I will consider selling separately - you may contact me to discuss further but would prefer to† have it go as a set)

When my client presented me with this coat I almost fainted. It is so utterly fabulous it was overwhelming! If you love it in the pictures you will be even more happy when you see it in person. The cut is loose and almost middle eastern in feel. It has a strong nod to the caftan in cut and is made from a fine, soft, cotton velvet mixed with a faux leopard print that is a startling and bold combination. All the edges of the coat are finished in thick panels of brocade and then is lined with a panel of bead work with various sized beads. More brocade and braided ribbon is set near the hem. A Moschino piece is not complete without a touch of whimsy and for this piece that element is brought in by the addition of gold sequin hearts - each edged in a red yarn and hand stitched into place. It looks to have never been worn and is immaculately constructed. Truly an amazing and rare piece of couture that you will be stopped in the streets and asked about every time you wear it! Excellent, unworn condition.
This coat ended up being purchased by Rihanna. It was heavily photographed when she wore it out and she landed in the #1 spot on the Vogue.com best dress list while wearing it!
The cut is very caftan feeling - my mannequin is a size 4-6 and it is not pinned on her. It will easily work as an over-sized garment on a smaller girl and work equally well on a larger frame. Fully lined in a black silky rayon and all the inside edges of the cuffs and front edging have a panel of velvet along the inside edge. Hand finishes. It closes with huge bold round buttons in a gold tone metal and velvet loops.

This is a very rare and beautiful Bellville Sassoon silk chiffon dress that has been done on the most amazing colors! The Sassoon label shot to absolute infamy when they dressed Princess Diana shortly after her engagement. The gown has a soft, sexy, bohemian feel to it in a manner that was just not done at the time. This dress has that same romantic bohemian feel and is wonderfully made. The silk is the finest, most delicate Indian silk and it has been customs screened with that gorgeous design. It loosely drapes with an inner silk dress built inside. The skirt flows to the floor in a cascade of lighter the air chiffon and the bodice has a bold panel of coral design worked down its center. Each sleeve balloons above the cuff and the front of the bodice can be tied, left open and worn on or off the shoulders. The original belt is still present. Amazing and very very rare piece! Excellent condition.
The dress is fully lined in a dyed to match turquoise silk chiffon except for the sleeves which are unlined. It closes with a handset, back painted metal zipper. Each cuff closes with hidden snaps. The original fabric sash is present and also in excellent condition. The neck has a piped silk chiffon cord running through it and can be adjusted to sit on or off the shoulder. There is a small nick on the fabric at the back of the skirt near the hem that does not detract when on due to the volume of fabric.

This is a stunning silk twill dress fashioned along a Westernized version of the cheongsam. It is by Adele Simpson but is unlabeled. I actually has the exact twin of this dress many years ago so know with absolute certainty that it is by her! There is a depth and richness to the silk that you just don't get the full impact of till you see it in person. The exterior of the dress is a Hermes scarf weight silk twill that is screened with that amazing explosion of multi colored flowers. The colors run rampant over the entire piece from the simple, sleeveless, high collared bodice to the skirt that sweeps to the floor in a simple column of fabric. I love how the contrasting bands of design at the neck and how that is picked up again at the hem. And how can you not love the scattering of dots n the background? Lovely and in great condition!

Fully lined in a fine black tissue silk and closes with a painted metal zipper with hook & eye at the back of the neck. There are a series of small, well done stitching that were done at the top of one shoulder along the seam and along the top of the collar at the back where the fabric was beginning to separate from the base. It is now stable and these are practically invisible but has been priced accordingly and noted.

This is the second time I have had this amazingly sexy and insanely fabulous gold eyelash fringe one shoulder dress from Stephen Burrows! I almost died when the girl contacted me as I instantly knew how fabulous this dress is! It is hands down one of my most favorite pieces ever and this one is a little larger then the super tiny one I had before! The gold is a true gold in person and those stripes are made of an almost a tinsel-like eyelash lame fringing that is applied in slanted stripes to a black silk chiffon backing. The rows between the gold are actually semi sheer but you get enough coverage from the tightly spaced rows to feel decent when wearing it! The silk chiffon base makes it insanely light weight so you feel like you are wearing nothing and it is also cut on the bias so settles over your curves perfectly every time! A one shoulder cut, it skims over and hugs the body through the chest and then swoops out in a A-line to the floor. A 22" high slit on one side adds a flash of leg. A real collectible and a real rarity! Excellent condition

Sensual but girly, dramatic but demure, this gown is a study on contrasts and a wonderful example of Bill Blass' work. It exemplifies his view on romantic feminine pieces and yet has a strength of line and cut that contrast the pretty pink and softness of the silk he used. The bodice appears to be a more strip of fabric - it has a black velvet base over which a wide matte silk satin ribbon is applied and ends in a beautiful bow at the front. Inside however a full corseted under piece holds you firmly in place to the waist, belying the appearance of that tiny bust that is seen. The skirt falls from the in a dramatic and soft flow of silk chiffon and is edged in two wide stripes - one in matte silk satin, one in inky black velvet. Underneath is an inner sheath of pink silk topped by yet another lay of silk chiffon. A huge wrap made of the same silk chiffon can be used for cooler evening or more coverage. Extremely well made, very beautiful and in excellent condition

A museum quality, amazing 1970s silk chiffon set by Hanae Mori. This is everything you look for in a Hanae piece. It has her spectacular custom designed print on feather light silk chiffon. All the edges of the top are clearly marked and the skirt is signed throughout as well. The cut has that draped, goddess, flowing feel to it that collectors crave when they look for the best of Hanae's pieces. This is couture on the highest level with everything about the piece done to work with the rest. The top is a wide wisp if printed silk with delicate snaps to hold it at the neck once it is slipped over the head. Tiny snaps and threads sit at each shoulder to hold what you choose to wear under it in place. Each "sleeve" is cut like a loose kimono sleeve and you can tie these at the wrist or let the stay loose and fluttery. The skirt flows to the floor and balances the top perfectly. An amazing, once in a life-time find! Excellent, seemingly unworn condition
The skirt is fully lined in a soft peach silk and closes with a side zipper and flat hook & eye and fabric covered snaps at the waist. The poncho top is unlined, with small snaps to close at the neck. No label but the fabric is clearly signed throughout and there is no doubt that is is a Hanae Mori

This is a very rare, museum quality example of Gustave Tassell, who was one of the great American Coutouriers. Example of hie work are extremely hard to come by and most are only found in museum collections! For those not familiar with his work, Tassell won a Coty Award in 1962 and designed for the house of Norell when Normal Norell died. This piece predates this when he was running his own couture house out of California. The gown exemplifies that jet set "hostess" look that was the rage for evening wear. It entirely covers the wearer with a high neck, long sleeves and to the floor skirt, and is almost regal in its line and cut with the fabric being the showcase. It is a custom fabric and a stunning confection of woven silk brocade with portions of it being a fine black chenille. The contrast between the fabric is quite beautiful and silver thread is worked around the patterns to further highlight them. Off the body it has the impression of being larger hen it is and very structured. On the body you realize that is cut to be worn and has a way of transforming into strict architectural lines that somehow seem easy to wear. The lining of a fine grade silk feels heavenly against the skin and it feels good on. Pockets lie hidden along the seams of the front for an extra bit of chic. It is a rare gown that looks to have never been worn and is a stunning example of a great American Couturier!

This is a rare find indeed. This suit appeared in the February issue of French Vogue, as captured by the great photogrpaher Jeanloup Sieff, and is from the S/S 1970 collection. Even more amazing is that the very photo that appeared in Vogue was republished and used in the 2012 book Saint Laurent, Rive Gauche - Fashion revolution. You can see it on page 105 of that book! It is perfectly cut and balanced in design. Made from what Vogue described as " a polished cotton satin" it has a slight sheen to it and the fabric has enough weight that it holds it sculptural shape well The skirt exemplifies the seventies with its exaggerated A-line cut and vertical top seaming. The jacket has that nod to the Victorian age with a high collar and tightly spaced row of round shiny buttons. It is fitted through the body with a dainty peplum hip. I love that each sleeve is finished with 4 matching buttons. It is an amazing set and such a delight to have such an extremely well documented piece. Excellent condition

This is a very rare and beautifully, exuberantly eighties piece by Nina Ricci. It is constructed from a glossy black velvet that is beautiful to touch and drapes amazingly. The first thing you see on this is of course that insanely glamorous, over the top pink silk neckline. Three layers of knife pleated silk are stacked atop each other so that the frame the shoulders and neck. These swoop around the neckline to one shoulder where a huge rosette is formed! The other shoulder is left bare as a balance. From this wild beginning, the dress cascades over the wearer in a sheath of velvet with a hint of a waist, skimming over the hips to the ankle. The skirt flares out slightly around its hem to further emphasize the bombshell silhouette. The fabric is light weight so has a beautiful drape and it is lined in the finest silk so feel amazing inside as well! Really a showstopper and in excellent condition

This gown epitomizes the opulence and decadence of the eighties and is also an amazingly constructed piece! Oscar De La Renta pulled out the stops in the creation of this piece. Made of a self patterned silk brocade in three tones of jeweled colors in a beautiful combination of a deep raspberry, a royal purple and a luxe emerald green. The bodice that sits between and separates these three colors is completely an fully beaded and covered with gold metallic thread. It acts almost like a plate of armour but is supple and easy to move in. Onto the metallic thread are chenille florets, sequins and bead work - all hand done. The skirt is very full and has underskirts set to keep the full shape. Each shoulder is dramatic and bold with netting hand sewn into place to create and hold the fullness. The sleeves are cut leg of mutton style giving the gown a Renaissance feel. It is beautifully made and wonderfully extravagant! Excellent condition.

Skirt: 39" from bottom of the waist band to hem
The top is fully lined in a purple silk and the skirt is lined in a green silk organza with an additional silk skirt inside. This inner skirt finishes with a ruffled hem that has a 3" panel of horse hair dressmakers tape to give it some weight and structure. The sleeves are lines in a silk organza with nylon netting at the top of each shoulder to help achieve the fullness you see. It closes at the back with a hidden zipper and hook & eye at the top of the neck. Each sleeve closes with a hidden set zipper and has a row of tightly spaced fabric covered decorative buttons. Some of the braiding edging detailing has come loose here and there - I have gone over it but I mention this in case I missed a stitch or two.

This Ossie Clark couture dress was made for the 1971 collection according to my client who bought it then. It is made of a heavy black silk with a floral design in a glossier tone worked directly into the fabric. The cut is classic Ossie and also showcases his incredible tailoring - more so then many of his pieces. It has almost Victorian feel neckline and a flapper-esque dropped skirt. The collar is high and buttons over itself with shoulders set slightly in and sleeves that narrow at the wrist. The body of the dress billows out quite full and drops into a fuller low skirt. It is not till you get close to the dress that you fully realize its genius. The entire top of the front and shoulders are done in tiny flat pleats that allow for the fullness of the fabric through the body once they are released from their pleats. It is cut to fit quite easily as it is completely a smock design that flows from the shoulders - so it will fit a variety of sizes. Do keep in mind these are cut narrow through the shoulder. Excellent condition and the fabric really reacts nicely to the light - much better in person!

This dress is quite fabulous with it's huge butterfly print that is screened onto it form top to bottom and done in stunning shades of blue and green with pops of tangerine. The La Mendola label is highly collectible and sought after - when the duo behind the label where designing in Rome it was girls like Elizabeth Taylor and Rita Hayworth that were buying! The Italian shop closed in 1974 but they continued to supply American Shops like Bergdorf's and Montaldos. with special orders like this for a couple more years. This might even be one of the last gowns made! The base of the dress is made of a stretch jersey cut long and lean with silk chiffon sleeves and a wide silk chiffon sash that you can use it as a belt or a head scarf. The neck is high and I love that you can wear it as one sleek column or add shape with the silk tie belt. The colors are amazing and it emanates joy with that fantastic print! It's an amazing piece and in excellent condition.

These printed gowns were a Lanvin staple and the dress of the season in its day. They were designed for that chic modern woman to wear while entertaining at home or to go out for a chic dinner and were often the subject for Vogue or Harpers bazaar editorials! The colors photoed fabulously and you feel quite wonderful when wearing one! The wearer was able to move and be superbly comfortable, never worrying about getting wrinkled or being inappropriate or uncomfortable. Really these were a signature piece and every chic woman had to have one. The print and colors used are utterly amazing - the mix is masterful and even though it should be busy it works perfectly together when taken as a whole. The top portion is made of a very thin and light silk jersey - it will cling to every cure and is almost like not wearing anything! The front scoops just at the neck and the back scoops much deeper. Each sleeve is long and skinny. The skirt is a masterpiece - it is made of a basket weave cotton and puffs out slightly from the waist before it cascades to the floor. It actually wraps over itself so when you sit you can allow a leg to peek out. The original, wide silk satin, vivid green belt is still present and is a great finish to the print! It is an amazing and rare piece of fashion history and in excellent condition.

The bodice is fully lined in a semi sheer pale blue silk organza. Note that it is shattering in some places. It could be removed and it would not effect the wearability of the dress - I have chosen to leave it as it is still wearable as presented and it is the original lining. The skirt is also fully lined but in a off-white silk rayon. There is a watermark along the back of the scooped neckline that has caused a touch of fuzziness to the pattern along its curved edge. I only noticed it when listing and had not noticed it anytime prior so I do not feel that it detracts - the pattern is busy enough that it gets lost. I have dropped the price by quite a bit from what I originally was listing it for to accommodate for these two small things. The original wide silk satin sash is present and in excellent condition.

A gorgeous and Karl Lagerfeld for Chloe dress in a delicious fine wool moss crepe! The bodice is cut to be fitted and skim over the torso. The sleeves are amazing - they flare out to an almost bubble at the cuff and have an elastic around each wrist so that the fabric poufs out above. The skirt flows out from the waist and is cut in a sift A-line with a touch of fullness but in a sleek and subdued way. I love the edge stitched collar and slight plunge front, The stitching is picked up on the wide sash belt too. You can just picture this dress styled with high boots and a wide brimmed Yves Saint Laurent hat and in the pages of Vogue back in its day! Wonderful, sophisticated piece that feels as modern now as then. Excellent condition

This dress is both amazing and rare. Early Givenchy pieces are hard to find as it is and to find a gown that is of this magnitude is a treat! It is fully sequined from top to bottom. Each strap is completely covered in hand stitched sequins and cover the top and under-portion of the strap - all sewn into a silk backing. The sequins form wide panels of stripes and on the bodice these go horizontally. This contrasts sharply with the vertically striped skirt. It is cut in that classic bombshell Hollywood silhouette. It hugs the bust and nips in at the waist. The skirt skims over the hip and then flares out in a series of perfect inset pleats that begin at the knee. This allows the skirt to fall in a lean column when the wearer is standing still but to flare out dramatically at the slightest movement. Because it is all hand work on a silk organza it is shockingly light. A dramatic two toned shawl that is the full length of the piece and then some can be styled in a variety of ways. There are hooks and clips on both it and inside the dress so that you can wear it as shown or as a train that will extend far beyond the bottom hem. A true masterpiece! Excellent condition

Closes with a back painted zipper and hook and eye. The matching scarf is unlined and has a loop of fabric at its center that hooks into place - you just wrap it as you please and it can be styled many ways! Hand finishes. Truly beautiful and exceptional piece designed by Roger Freres. It is impeccably constructed and cut to show a girl's curves but in a sexy, chic kind of way. The bodice is a sleek and simple expanse of silk satin that is cut halter style with two overlapping curved triangles that form the bust. The waist nips in and is highlighted with a curved banding detail. The skirt is a spectacular pouf of fabric! The heavy, rich silk satin gives it an almost sculptural feel and allows it to hold the fullness with no crinoline underneath. The sides of that skirt curve over itself to help add to the volume. The halter neck and low back are of course the sexy part of the dress! Embellished straps circle up and around the neck and swoop down the sides of the back leaving it completely bare. Each strap has a gold braided cord down its center and that cording is adorned with rhinestones, pearls and metal tassels that swing with your every move! It is stunning and the inside is constructed to couture level with beautiful finishes. Rare, stunning and in excellent condition!
Bust: approx 16.5" flat across from side seam to side seam but with open sides

Bodice: 12" from neck to top of the waist band
Waist band: 2.5"
Skirt: 22" from bottom of the waist band to hem
Fully lined in a cream silky rayon and closes with a low back painted metal zipper. I chose not to photo it with a crinoline under but you could add a light crinoline and get a very full round shape. The color is true rich off-white silk satin in person! The inside edges are finished with ribbon over the seams. Fabric loops to secure your undergarments sit inside each shoulder. There is a hint of yellowing to where the curves of the folds on the skirt but I am being very picky. When on you will not notice.

Philip Hulitar only designed under his own label for a short time period - 1949-1964. Prior to that he was the in-house custom designer for Bergdorf's. His pieces are very beautiful and have an air of sophistication about them. Finding examples is hard due to the short period his label existed. My client purchased this dress in the spring of 1959 so I am able to date it exactly! It is an extraordinary piece and gives a hint of what was to come in the sixties while still maintaining the formality of the fifties. The fabric is a silk weave with a textured linen like feel to it. The top is cut with curved, graceful shoulders and both the front and back drop into somewhat low V's. The waist is highlighted with a darling flat bow and then that wonderful skirt flows in a column to the floor in all its glorious color! Huge blossoms are custom screened onto the fabric of the skirt and the mix of pinks, mustard, lime and emerald is amazing. A slit allows for ease of walking. The entire interior is hand finished and line din a silk organza. It is in fabulous, museum quality condition and all the colors are as crisp and bright as when they where first done! So beautiful, it is an amazing and rare piece of fashion history and in excellent condition.

A truly stunning set from the legendary house of Hermes that has that ultimate rich girl, country club chic vibe! Both pieces are superbly simple in cut, allowing the beauty of that custom screened signature silk twill Hermes fabric to shine. The colors are pure happy citrus hues - a mix of pale lemons highlighted with soft mustard's and and pink bead taupe's, all edged in fine black and signed throughout with that famous Hermes signature and text. The skirt is tightly knife pleated right from the waist so it falls fairly straight but with tons of volume and swing when you move. The top is a soft cut that has an almost chic sweatshirt feel to it with ribbing at the neck, waist, collar and cuffs. But where a normal Tee would have cotton stretch ribbing this is a woven silk! This is a classic and collectible set that is a once in a lifetime form one of the greatest fashion houses in the history of fashion! Excellent condition

The colors in this gown are amazing - they absolutely pop against the black background and are vivid and true. These printed gowns were a Lanvin staple and the dress of the season in its day. They were a signature piece for Lanvin during this time period and every chic woman had to have one. A Lanvin piece is a masterful mix of prints and this one is no different. The top portion is made of a very thin and light stretch knit jersey that I feel has a touch of silk worked into the fabric† - it will cling to every curve and is almost like not wearing nothing at all it is so light! The front scoops high on the neck and the back scoops much deeper. To further emphasize that back a chunky metal zipper is used that goes almost to the floor. This is an interesting detail as you see Alber use dramatic zippers often and you cant help but wonder if dresses like this from the archives were the inspiration! The skirt is a masterpiece - it is made of a chevron, waffle weave cotton and puffs out slightly from the waist before it cascades to the floor. It is an amazing and rare piece of fashion history and in excellent condition.

Rachel Zoe recently wore a dress from this same collection when she debuted her windows for Tiffany! You can see how it falls on her. Her version had a full sleeve but this one is a more cocktail version with a simple tank style bodice. I also love that the ribbing on this one goes completely to the top with no break in the design. It has a clever inner bodice built in so you can pretty much slip it on a go. It is also a coveted larger size - hard to find in Alaia! Made of a fine silk knit t is as exquisitely on as you would expect from Azzedine. It can be worn for day with a cardigan or layered over a soft tee and then makes a sexy cocktail dress for evening. Its the perfect LBD when you wanted that extra bit of french drama and subtle sexiness only Alaia dies best! Excellent condition and very well made!

This dress is absolutely incredible and so rare. If you are a regular it may look familiar - I actually have sold this dress before but the woman who bought it wore it to an event for an hour and will not wear it again so I talked her into letting it go to another lucky girl! It really is one of the most phenomenal dresses I have ever had in stock and I will be just as sad to see it go this time as i was the first as it is one of the best 1950s cocktail dresses I have ever seen, with or without it's highly desirable label! It is really a thing of beauty - the fabric is a heavy weight, luxurious silk satin in a deep, rich cream. Onto this is a custom, hand screened floral design, whose blossoms are further emphasizes by an applied velvet layer. The silk velvet follows the colors of the flowers and gives it rich, second layer. Other parts of the gown have had cut out flowers from the same fabric that have then been hand sewn into place - applique style for a subtle third layer to the design. The cut is all bombshell vavoom. A fitted, hand draped and pleated strapless bodice follows every curve. It cinches in at the waist and then has a slight tulip shape as the skirt curves over the hips and sweeps up and over the front to a sexy hip swag on one side.† The bodice is lightly boned and all the draping and pleating to form this highly sculptural shape are hand stitched into place. Excellent condition and a rare museum worthy piece.
Bust: approx 16.5î flat across from side seam to side seam with an A to small B cup
Waist: 14î flat across from side seam to side seam
Hips: to 19.5î flat across from side seam to side seam
Bodice: 11" from top of the bodice to the waist
Skirt: 23" from waist to hem
Fully lined through the bodice in a cream silky rayon and the skirt is unlined but with ribbon finished seam work. It closes with a hand set side painted metal zipper. There is a very slight line on either side of one seam where it looks to have been taken out but it was an amazing job and looks old so has been left. I have had the boning inside recovered for my client as they were popping out and uncomfortable - this was done by hand and to couture level standards. All hand work from top to bottom. Note that some of the threads are starting to age where some of the hand sewn draping is. I have left it all as found original- this was the same when originally sold and has not worsened so I chose to leave it.

This is a glorious Alexander McQueen S/S 2007 Runway piece that was done in limited production and is a rare and fabulous piece! Shown on the runway with one of his signature billowing white cotton blouses you could easily re-create that look or style it a million other ways! The 2007 collection was titled "Sarabrande" and the Alexander McQueen website says of it:
The inspiration is Handelís Sarabande of the title ñ a majestic and elegant dance - the portraits of Goya, the turn of the century exotic and socialite Marchesa Luisa Casati and garden flowers. As always, there is a melancholic undertone: faded flowers are trapped in chiffon and lace, ruffled skirts constructed out of tiers of delicate petals and prints are botanical ñ brightly coloured birds and blooms, scattering swallows and winding stems of leaves. Show pieces include a dress made entirely out of frozen flowers. Tailoring is this time more fluid than it has been and clothing indebted to horsemanship is worn with finely worked, oversized pirate shirts. McQueenís idealisation of the feminine form continues with an exaggerated hour-glass silhouette.
This jumper certainly epitomizes exactly that as it hugs the hips and cinches in the waist. The high line just under the bust emphasizes the breast and indeed does exxagarate the female form. The extensive beadwork on either side intentionally draws the eye to the hips and adds to the bombshell, femme fatale curves. It was called McQueens "most unashamedly romantic show to date" and this particular piece is a triumph of line and cut. Style.com said of the collection:
Looking at it from a broader perspective, it's true to say that this self-referential McQueen collection did not contribute to the new debate about how fashion can move on from its fixation with the past. But as a summation of all he has to offer in the way of refinement, it was one of his best.
Excellent, appears unworn condition!

This is an amazing and rare find. La Mendola is one of my favorite designers - I think they were amongst the best at what they did - bright, vibrant silk jersey and silk chiffon pieces that catered to the jet set and the celebrity chic - the duo behind the label where designing in Rome for girls like Elizabeth Taylor and Rita Hayworth that were buying! The shop closed in 1974 so this us a rare glimpse into the day to day business of their world. Pat, the original dresses owner, lived in Belgium at the time with her husband who was stationed there. All the letters and eventually the dress itself were sent through the embassy - apparently it saved postage, time and cost to do it that way at the time! With the dress comes the the correspondence - first the letter she sends to them inquiring after having a dress made after seeing the one her sister had. She asks for samples, cost and timing. Micheal himself responds and includes samples (!) all of which are named. She chooses her design and sends her measurements and cheque and the final letter is the bill of sale. The samples with their original labels are included as are two envelopes. It is absolutely a treasure to have a pieces so well documented and a letter form the main designer himself. The dress itself is a stunning, very wearable sized silk jersey beauty in a vivid and gorgeous green print named "Francolino". It has a simple cut with an undefined waist and long sleeves. The original tie belt with its stone and brass detailed finishes is also present. The dress is in excellent condition and appears to be worn very little. Everything is clearly dated and all documentation is in excellent condition. A really rare and special glimpse into history, this is an amazing treasure that is of museum quality and extremely rare.

This is an absolute stunning silk chiffon dress from Chanel. Truly one of the most beautiful pieces I have seen from Chanel this is a nod to the Grecian Goddess with that fantastic Chanel touch. Made of a customs screened, feather light, fine silk chiffon that is done in flattering purple hues. The fabric is draped and gathered perfectly to create that gorgeous and feminine silhouette. Fully lined to just below the hip the lower skirt flows in a semi-sheer cascade of fabric to it asymmetrical point. This gives just a glimpse of the shape of the leg and is very sexy. A panel draped over on hip and another on the opposite side wraps over the shoulder in soft folds. It gives the wearer a lovely curved, soft effect and is the perfect mix of sexy and elegance. I love the little screened double C's worked into the fabric - just† in case there was any doubt you are wearing Chanel of course! Excellent, appears unworn condition.
