1961 Hand Painted Couture Fortuny Fabric
A very rare and special bolt of hand painted Fortuny fabric that is extraordinarily beautiful. You can still buy Fortuny products today but they cannot match the superior quality and they are much more valuable - especially when n original, untouched condition such as this! The base is a hand dyed Egyptian cotton done in a dusky pink terracotta, over which the design is hand painted and stenciled an a deep gold paint. It is marked many times along the salvage with the dated 1961 stamp, the NYC store address stamp, and hand marking as well. A wonderful piece for the collector or interior designer. Very rare and in museum quality condition.
A single huge panel of fabric measuring 57" wide x 159" long or approx 4.6 yard long and just a touch over a yard and a half wide.
The condition is excellent and I can see no flaws. The edges are cut and not finished as they would be from coming off a roll of fabric
Note that antique, twenties and textile pieces are final sale. They will be packed exceedingly well and we only sell pieces that will stand up to the stress of shipping, however, having pieces potentially shipped multiple times through multiple customs and countries is too hard on garments that are historically important and deserve to be treated with love and care. - We require three equal payments of the layaway total. You will be invoiced for the first amount upon request
- payment two of the remaining balance will be billed two weeks from the date of the initial deposit.
- The final payment is due two weeks after the second payment and shipping will be billed on this invoice as well.
- items less then $500, or that are on sale, require a 50% deposit with the final payment due in two weeks from the date of deposit
