1920s Padded Flower Fringe Flapper Robe
This robe was carefully stored and it shows as it is still in extraordinary condition! The fabric is strong and wearable and it is a high end, excellently constructed garment. This amazing robe is made of a beautiful and fine black silk. It has stunning embroidery work on each hip - a full bouquet of roses are stitched under a semi-transparent early nylon and then colored batting was placed underneath to create a puffed feel! Under and all around the hem is a stunning hand knotted fringing detail in black silk cording and is in excellent condition. Though this would have been meant for the boudoir it can be mixed into a modern day girl's wardrobe quite easily. Excellent condition and quite stunning! These are getting harder and harder to find and even more so in this condition!
The robe is unlined and has no closures. It is in what I would consider excellent shape with no apparent flaws. Please remember that pieces of this age will have a natural patina and should not be expected to be absolutely perfect (though this is close)! It is after all almost 100 years old!
Note that antique and twenties pieces are final sale. They will be packed exceedingly well and we only sell pieces that will stand up to the stress of shipping, however, having pieces potentially shipped multiple times through multiple customs and countries is too hard on garments that are historically important and deserve to be treated with love and care.
