• The twin of this dress walked the runway as Look 44 in the Spring 2017 Emmanuel Ungaro collection.
• It was made under the creative direction of Fausto Puglisi
• Puglisi referenced the 1986 video called "Ouragan" by Princess Stephanie of Monaco. "Stephanie was the rebel royal and Decades later it looks like Puglisi aesthetic was in some part formed by that spirit". The review continue to say "we've entered the period of peak ruffle. That means it's a good time to be at Ungaro, a label synonymous with the high flying 80s, which is the last time the world saw frills and flunces on the scale we're witnessing now." Vogue especially noted the purple and yellow combinations he used.
• The dress is made out of a brocade that has a slight 3-D dimension feel to it with race parts within the pattern.
• Joyful flowers and purple and yellow cover the fabric on a ivory backdrop mixed with gold thread. Inside the dress is lined with a bright green muslin that adds a beautiful pop against those already bright colors.
• The front and back are cut into a V and it looks like someone has added a little stitch at the front. If you wanted that front plunge even more that could easily be removed. The shoulders are soft and a double band of ruffles cascade over each shoulder and then sweep down the front and back to the band at the waist.
• The waist has a 2 inch band of the same fabric for shape. On the runway it was belted and if you wanted to really cinch in the waist, you could add a belt.
• The skirt is just fantastic. It curves over the hip and then it's finished with two layers of ruffles that sweep all the way around the hem.
• The ruffles come up on one side and it all perfectly balance is out the ruffles on the shoulders.
• Hidden underneath that one side of the skirt is a very high slit that goes right up to the waist underneath. It is partially wrapped over itself, so you get a flash of leg but not full exposure. It's very sexy.
• This is a gorgeous little dress that combines the joyful for feel of spring with a little bit of sexy.
• The dress is fully lined in the green and closes with a back zipper.

• The twin of this tunic walked the runway in the Fall 1985 YSL Haute Couture collection for Look 43.
• It was made under the creative direction of Yves Saint Laurent.
• This is the collection that the book 'Yves Saint Laurent: Catwalk' notes that "silence reigned during the catwalk presentation for which YSL had decided not to include music. The models processed noiselessly into the salon of the Hotel Intercontinental. This was a collection of essentials for an autumn/winter that was marked by a sobriety, simplicity and purity". French Vogue said "the woman herself was showcased in her typical Parisian elegance". The review specifically noted the use of purple balancing out the more sombre blue, brown and greys. Several variations of the shape of this tunic were shown on that runway.
• In the YSL folio that contains all the drawings from the collection we found the original sketch for the look.
• I love that it started with the scarf that matches the folio drawing and then as the model proceeded down the runway the scarf was removed and she had a fabulous jewelled choker underneath.
• Yves always cut his couture pieces so perfectly. In my opinion owning a piece of his couture work is one of the ultimate vintage acquisitions.
  
• It would have been made entirely by hand in the Paris atelier. 
• The tunic is made from a high-end wool jersey that holds it shape and drapes beautifully.
• This is a gorgeous and versatile piece. It can be worn open and easy. layered under other pieces. or belted. I have added a simple black grosgrain ribbon around the waist for some of the photos to show you how the shape changes once belted. The ribbon is not original to the tunic but I will include it.
• The neckline is scooped and the shoulders have handmade padding underneath to hold that perfect 1980s shape.
• The top of one shoulder is detailed with three buttons and all of these buttons are functional.
• The sleeves are set wide into the body of the tunic and gathered at the top for a slight cap affect. They billow out to be very full and open all the way to the cuff. The cuffs are finished so that the sleeve gather into them. The cuffs themselves are also slightly over-sized in their diameter.
• The body of the tunic is extremely loose and easy and widens out as it nears the hem. It is intentionally made to feel over-sized. This makes it very easy to fit on a variety of body types.
• I love the seam that runs down just inside of the outer edges on both sides. These end in a curve at the hem and there is a slit on both sides. Just above the slits are hidden set pockets.
• The back has a defined seam that runs down its centre and the zipper is hidden underneath it. Once on the body it appears to have no closures.
• It is a fantastic piece of true Couture and an easy way to work in some YSL vintage magic into your wardrobe.
• The tunic is fully lined in a handset matching purple silk through the body and the sleeves are unlined. It closes with a zipper at the back. The buttons on the top of the shoulder are functional. Pockets on each side. 
• There is no size tag present because it is true Couture. Please go by the measurements listed below.

• The dress is from the Fall 2012 collection
• It was made under the creative direction of Fausto Puglisi
• The twin of this dress was used in the Ad campaign and we also found a reference photos from an editorial that took place in the showroom. It was also shot for a magazine editorial that season. I love that we have these reference photos so you can see how fabulous it is once on an actual body.
• When these debuted they sold out worldwide and seemed to be everywhere on all of the fashion people.
• His first collection debuted in 2006 and Italian fashion editor Anna Dello Russo started to wear his pieces everywhere and is largely responsible for bringing his work to the spotlight. His style during this time period was often referred to as "Greco-Roman glitz".
• The dress is made out of a light wool that has a slight texture to it. It is a mix of six different colours. 
• The bodice is a pale purple with soft yellow straps that are cut wide. They curve up and over the shoulders to meet the back.
• Around the waist at the front there is a wide panel of ivory embellished with an over-sized metal and rhinestone medallion.
• The band at the back is done in a soft green and then you have black panels that wrap around the hips to the back zipper on either side.
• The skirt is a deeper purple at the front with yellow used for the back.
• The back of the skirt has been pleated and has slits on either side of the skirt to show even more leg than the short length already does.
• It is beautifully made and is an incredible mix of sexiness and a sense of lightness and fun.
• The bodice is fully lined in an ivory silk and there is light boning at the sides. It closes with a back hidden set zipper and an inner waist stay snaps to close. A touch of a mark on the inner lining. Please see the photo after the label shot.

• This dress is from the Spring 2006 Christian Dior collection.
• It was made under the creative direction of John Galliano.
• Galliano began his own label in 1984 and he was instantly a bit of a 'boy wonder' in fashion. He was British Fashion Council Designer of the Year in 1987, 1994 and 1995. In 1991 he made his Paris catwalk debut. In 1995 he was asked to head Givenchy and then went to Dior in October of 1996. 
• His work, especially the bias cut pieces that he did, have a feeling of the decadence and abandonment of the twenties and they are beautifully cut.
• They marry Old Hollywood with the minimalist spirit of the nineties and early 2000s and the results are stunning.
• This is an amazing example of his work from the Spring 2006 season and it is gorgeous. We believe that some of the detailing is based on / loosely inspired by the opening look of the Couture 2006 collection. We have included a photo of that dress for you and you can see similar bead work through the skirt of that dress that has similarity to the pattern of the beads on this dress.
• The dress is made out of a deep blue silk crepe chiffon that has a slight bit of texture to it and a slight grey undertone. 
• It is completely cut on the bias. The dress falls from the shoulders and then drapes down and over the body to the floor. It is very beautiful. The signature bias cut that he often did allows the dress to skim and drape over you so that is shows every curve but is not overly fitted.
• The seaming is highly reminiscent of the work you see from the twenties and thirties which became another of John's signatures.
• The fabric has been pieced together with both curved and angled seams through the bodice and lower skirt to create the fantastic lines of the dress that you see.
• Wide straps extend out from the bust to curve over your shoulders. The front is set in a V and the fabric is gathered across the front of the shoulders.
• I love the angled cut of the front bodice where he has pieced the two side of it together. These are set into a high curving seam that highlights the waist but still stays easy in cut.
• That seam curves around the back curving upwards there as well.
• The back is scooped into a low curved open expanse. The straps become smaller and run down the back to join into each side of the lowest part of that curve.
• An attached panel of silk drapes beautifully down the back in reference to the best of Old Hollywood.
• The dress glides over the body from there and flares out as it reaches the hem. The widening and length of the back hem is created with angled silk chiffon panels inset into the back skirt. It is an incredible feat of patterning.
• This creates a longer bit of a train at the back for a bit of a sweeping feel behind you.
• There is an incredible amount of fabric through the lower skirt which gives you so much movement when you walk.
• The entire dress to just past the knee is beaded with silver beads mixed with the tiniest silver sequins. These are laid out vertically over the dress in beautiful curving lines that cover the dress. They catch the light from every angle and take the dress to another level.
• His signature row of tightly spaced buttons run up one side.
• The dress is even better in person and on the body as the static photos cannot fully convey how a bias cut dress moves. They only truly come to life when worn.
• It has a matching silk inner slip dress that loop through a stitch so that they are attached at the top of the inner shoulders. You could easily remove this to get more room if needed. The bias cut should allow it to fit a range of sizes and we have provided the comfortable range of measurements for both it and the outer dress below. It closes at the side with a series of silk covered buttons. It looks to have been worn very little if at all.

• This dress dates to the late 1970s early 1980s.
• It was made under the creative direction of Adele Simpson.
• Adele Simpson launched her label in 1949 and remained at its helm until the early 1980s. She became known as 'America’s First Ladies’ Designer' after dressing 6 first ladies over the course of her long career.
• She was also one of the founders of both the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and the Fashion Group International (FGI).
• Her pieces were well made ready-to-wear at prices that were attainable for the modern woman. She was once asked what fashion was to her and she replied that for her it was 'a fascination with the way people all over the world express their sense of beauty.'
• This is a beautiful example of her work during this point of her label.
• The dress is made out of a very pretty light in weight blue silk that holds the shape and volume very well.
• The dress has a simple wrap silhouette. You simply slip your arms in and then hook it into place along the waist. The brilliant pink silk sash ties around you so that you are able to cinch it as much as you need.
• You could dramatically change the look at the dress by changing the sash out for a belt or a different colour sash. I love the versatility that this gives you.
• The top has an inner body with a panel that drapes over your shoulders and down the top of the arm. This continues around all the way to give you that lovely cape effect that you see.
• The waist is defined by a wide 3.5" band of the same silk.
• The skirt is set in along the waist and lightly gathered. This is what gives you the fullness all the way around you. 
• Inside the back of the skirt is an added attached panel of black netting that has been stiffened and starched and this helps to hold the volume of the dress away from the body slightly to add to the fullness that it has.
• The skirt is cut so that it is shorter at the front and then falls into a peak at the back. This allows for a bit of leg to show as you sit and move. 
• The dress is fully lined in a second layer of the same fabric. It closes at the waist with a series of flat hook and eye hidden inside and along the outside once it is wrapped into place. If you needed more or less room at the waist you could move the hooks as needed. The measurements below are based on where the hooks are set at the moment. I see some marks at one end of the sash. 
• There is no size tag present. Please go by the measurements below.

• It was made under the creative Direction of Alex Perry.
• Alexandros Pertsinidis is an Australian fashion designer who launched the Alex Perry label in 1992. His work has been featured on numerous the covers worldwide since then and is a favourite on the red carpet. It's been worn by celebrities like Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, Rita Ora, Katy Perry, Lupita Nyong and countless others.
• Mindy Kaling wore its twin to the 2021 SAG awards and Deepika Padukone was also seen wearing one. We've added reference photos of each, along with the runway presentation photo, so you can see how fantastic this is on the body.
  
• The dress is made from a brilliant royal blue crepe finish fabric is used for the entire dress including those incredible sleeves. The fabric choice gives it. a beautiful drape and is what lets it move so beautifully over the body once it is on.
• It is constructed so that it drapes and skims over the body perfectly. The skirt falls to the floor in a sweeping expanse of fabric. When you stand still it looks more like a sleek column but when you move you realize how much fabric is in there as it billows out behind you.
• The bodice drapes softly over you at the front and is twisted in a knot that meets at the waist.
• The shoulders are padded to give them a defined and shaped silhouette. Caped sleeves extend out from the shoulders to fall all the way to the floor to create this elegant and dramatic feeling over your arms.
• The fabric has enough weight that it stays in place when you are standing still but when you move you get a billowing effect around you with the sleeves.
  
• It is a fantastic dress and I love how it is so well documented.
• The dress is lined in a matching blue and the sleeves are unlined. It closes with a hidden set zipper at the back. It appears to have been worn very little if at all.

• This top is from the Spring 1974 collection.
• It was made under the creative direction of the original Mr. Valentino
• Valentino launched his ready-to-wear label in 1962 just two years after opening his first salon in Rome. He often brought in the designs that he created for his main couture label into the boutique work. In these early days pieces were remarkably close in quality and the line between the two labels was often blurred. 
  
• I love that this has the classic seashell print from that year. We included reference photos of similar pieces from the collection. It is a very special and rare piece of original Valentino.
• The top is made out of a beautiful green silk that has the fantastic seashell print made up of several varieties of seashells.
• The seashell pattern has been set onto the silk on an angle and it covers the entire top.
• The shoulders and the way the sleeves are cut on this one are wonderful. The shoulder is deliberately dropped and then the sleeves are cut to be extremely full and generous. They almost have the feel of a pirate sleeve. They are full all the way down and then are brought back in at the buttoned cuffs.
• The cut is boxy and generous through the body for an easy fit. The top came with its original little matching silk string belt that you can use to tie around the waist for added shape. You could always use it around the neck.
• The collar is fantastic. It is pointed in that wonderful feel of the 1970s.
• Not only did this one come with its original little belt but it also came with a triangular shaped matching scarf that you can wrap and tie around the neck or around the head as a head scarf like how I styled it here for you to see.
• This is a fantastic piece of Valentino history, and I love that it has one of his most iconic prints from this era.
• The top is unlined and closes at the front with a series of buttons. Each cuff buttons to close. I see one small mark. Please see the photo after the label shot. The top is meant to feel more loose and generous if you choose to wear it without a belt and un-tucked. It should fit a variety of sizes and just feel more oversized on a smaller frame.

• The twin of this piece was shown on the Spring 1993 Versace runway.
• It was made under the creative direction of Gianni Versace
• Besides being prominently featured on the runway, it was featured in editorials for the Versace lookbook. 
• This is an exceedingly rare piece from one of the best known eras of his career.
• This collection was an homage to South Beach, a place that Gianni absolutely loved. In 1991 he bought Casa Casuarina, a mansion on Ocean Drive. Two years and $30 million later it was a lavish palazzo, but before that was completed, he created this Spring 1993 show as a love letter to South Beach. Little Havana was referenced in the amazing floral printed silks that we see on this piece.
  
• The vest is made out of a printed silk with a solid black used for the collar and lining. Black silk is also used for the properly finished button holes and the silk covered buttons at the front. 
• The rest of the vest has a brilliant oversized floral print running over it that is spectacular.
• I love how the back panel of the vest is a different floral panel pattern for contrast.
• The shawl collar curves down low to the waist and the vest closes with a double set of silk covered buttons across the front. Long floral covered tails fall around the side of the hip and down the front. These will end around or past the knee depending on your height.
• At the back, seams curve inward to add shape through the waist and there is a fabric half belt that you use to cinch in and add more shape.
• The belt buckle and added embellishment on the belt are amazing. They are made out of a gold toned metal with the tops of each piece finished in a red hand poured enamel. There are two curving pieces, one that secures the belt once buckled, and the other to finish the end of the belt strap. Three more straight pieces sit on either side of that for added decoration. It is a very decadent and beautiful extra touch of detail.
• This is an iconic and highly collectible piece of Versace history.
• The vest is fully lined in a black silk and closes with the two front buttons that have properly finished button holes. The black silk portion of the vest has a slight soft feel to its finish that appears intentional. It does have a fabric and size tag but it is faded and you can no longer read what size it is.
• The size tag has faded so please go buy the measurements listed below

• This is an exceptional vintage Hermes top from 1999.
• This print is called Rythmes du Monde and was created by Laurence Bourthoumieux and first issued in 1999.
• Laurence Bourthoumieux is also known as Toutsy on her later works. She is well known for her work for Hermes. 
• The top is made out of one of their signature silk twills that has a bit of give so the fit is amazing.
  
• The print that covers it is phenomenal. It combines greens with a deeper yellow and has a classic Hermes pattern that covers the entire top.
• The collar is fantastic with a pointed finish and I love how the entire front edging is a contrasting print.
• That same contrast is picked up again on each cuff.
• The colour is pointed and slightly exaggerated. The shoulders are soft, and the sleeves are slightly full above their cuffs. The cut through the body is easy and boxy so it is easy to wear and fit.
• There are two extra buttons still sewn inside near the side seam.
• The text identifying the print is on the inside edge of the bottom of the top.
  
• This is a fantastic way to add a piece of Hermes magic to your wardrobe.
• The top is unlined and buttons to close down the front and at each cuff. I see some minor colour transfer here and there in the print. I have taken photos of where it is the worst. It is mainly around the lower edge. The print is so extensive over the top that it blends in well but it is mentioned for accuracy. The easy cut should allow it to fit a range of sizes and on a smaller frame it will just be slightly more oversized.

• This dress is from the Spring 2007 Alexander McQueen collection.
• It was made under the creative direction of Alexander McQueen.
• This is the all black production version dress of the printed dress that walked the runway for that collection.
• Elle Fanning wore is twin in 2022 and I love having the photos and video so you can see how phenomenal this is once on and moving.
• We have also added the video of the printed version so you can see more of how this moves once it is on the body.
• The dress is made out of a black on black patterned bias cut silk. The print is worked directly into the silk with a thatched feeling background and then there are flowers that are worked over the entire dress. I love how this picks the light up and really adds texture and movement to the dress once it is on.
• A ruffle follows the neckline and extends out over top of the tiny cap sleeve on that side. The other side is caught up with a little half bow at the front and then the strap gets thinner and curves over to attach into the back. I love how this creates a scoop at the front and the back.
• Once it is on an actual body it sits wider across and more like the photos of the one on Elle and of the runway version. My dress form has no chest so it sits lower than it will on an actual body.
• It skims over the bust, waist and hips in a beautiful bias cut that lets it fall over you and accentuate your curves.
• The skirt is phenomenal. He has set it into the dress in a series of upward curving peaks and then each peak tops a panel of silk that widens out substantially by the hem. This is what gives the dress its amazing movement and the phenomenal sweep of the lower skirt.
• There are yards and yards of silk making up that lower skirt. As you move you get a bit of trailing effect of the back skirt behind you. 
  
• This is a very rare and very special McQueen piece and really shows you the extent of his masterful seam-work and how he could handle a bias cut piece as easily as his highly tailored pieces.
• The dress is fully lined in a black silk up to where the skirt attaches and then the lower skirt is unlined. It slips on to wear with no closures. The bias cut will allow it to fit a range of sizes and I have put the comfortable range below. It is in its original uncut length and appears to have been worn very little if at all.

• This gorgeous dress is a true couture piece from the Fall 1970 Haute Couture collection.
• It was made under the creative direction of Marc Bohan.
• The book Dior:Catwalk noted that the Vogue proclaimed that "Any woman anywhere on earth would want to own these total feminine clothes"
• In the few photos that survive of pieces from this collection, it is interesting to note that he showed most of these shift dresses under capes, which would be a lovely combination even now.
• This dress would have been made entirely by hand in the Paris atelier. 
• The dress is made out of a jet black silk velvet that is extremely soft to the touch and has beautiful drape.
• I love the nod to classic minimalism that the dress displays.
• Straps in a matching black velvet curve up and over your shoulders and then the front and back have just the most gentle bit of a scoop across. Just enough to take away the harshness a straight line would have.
• It skims over the bust and is cut more generously over the waist so that it falls in a perfect shift or column feel around you. If you wanted to add more shape you could easily add a belt or corded rope tie.
• It flares slightly out over the hips and then the skirt falls from there widening out as it near the hem.
• The dress closes down one side with glossy black buttons and I love the deliberate contrast in texture that it has against the black velvet. That pop of shine of the high gloss of the buttons is the perfect subtle detail against the inky texture of the velvet.
• The buttons close the dress down one side to just past the hip and then the rest of that seam is completely open all the way to the hem. When you walk, move, or sit, you get a flash of bare leg all the way up that one side. It is almost startling to have that flash of bare skin against the column of black and I love this play between elegance and sexiness.
• It is a dress that appears to be so simple in shape but every seam and line of the dress was purposefully and masterfully executed and planned.
• This is an extraordinary example of his work during this time period and it is an absolutely stunning dress.
• The dress is fully lined in a matching hand set black silk and closes at the side with the row of buttons. All of the work is done by hand to Couture standards and it has its appropriately dated couture tag present. It appears to have been worn very little at all.

• This spectacular dress is a very rare piece from the Spring 1999 collection.
• It was made under the creative direction of John Galliano
• For this show the Dior Catwalk book noted that "Galliano took a trip on the Trans-Siberian railway and drew inspiration from Russian avant-garde as well as the Chinese red army."
• A shorter version of this dress was shown in the show as well as a long version without the lace insets at the front. We have included reference photos of both so you can see how this will fit on the body.
• This is one of his signature bias cut dresses and it is absolutely stunning.
• The dress falls from two straps that curve up and over the shoulders. The front falls in a soft curving drape and then the back is scooped low to leave your upper back bare. The draped front is a clever way to add shape while still keeping the entire dress soft and with little formal structure.
• Behind the draped silk of the bust is a second halter cut bodice made out of black lace. As the front drapes down this lace peeks out from behind it.
• Set just underneath the bust is an angled panel of lace that is just over an inch and a half wide. This angles up towards the centre of the bust and then runs around the back.
• Another panel of lace highlights the seam that the lower skirt is set into and then the entire hem is finished with the same lace. I love how the placement of lace is done to highlight your shape.
• None of the lace used has any backing so that once this is on the body you get a glimpse of skin through all of the lace parts of the dress.  
• The rest of the dress is made out of beautiful slightly textured hammered black silk. The silk is a heavier weighted silk and it is completely cut on the bias. When you put it on it simply drapes over you and highlights every curve without ever being too tight anywhere.
• It skims over the bust, waist and hips and then comes in slightly where the bottom lace is. The lower skirt flares out substantially under that and there are yards of fabric in that part of the dress alone. This gives you incredible movement when you walk and finishes the dress beautifully.
• This flowing hourglass shape was a Galliano signature and this one is absolutely spectacular.
• The inner lining under the lower skirt is finished with yet another panel of black lace and this peaks out from underneath the skirt to perfectly tie all of the elements of the dress together.
• The dress is an exceptional example from his very early days at Dior. A true piece of fashion history.
  
• The lace serves as the lining behind the draped front and then the rest of the dress is lined in a black silk except for behind the lace parts which are left unlined. It closes with hidden set side zipper. It is completely cut on the bias so there is a lot of movement and range to the fabric. It is an easy fit and the bias cut should allow it to fit a range of sizes I have put the range when laying flat in the measurements below. On a smaller frame it will drape more. I see a small scuff on the fabric here and there. Very minor and just mentioned for accuracy.

• This is a phenomenal dress whose twin walked the runway for the Spring 1989 Nina Ricci show.
• It was made under the creative direction of Gerard Pipart.
• I love that there are runway reference photos of the dress so you can see how it will sit once on the body. 
• The dress is true Couture and was completely made by hand in the Paris atelier.
• It is made out of a deep blue silk that is very high-quality and it is lined by hand in a matching blue silk chiffon.
• The shoulders have hand done padding in them for some added shape and the sleeves are set wide into the body of the dress. They narrow as they fall to the wrist and the lower part of the outside seam is gathered to create a slight ruffled feel at the cuff.
• A panel of the same silk starts at the waist of one side and sweeps up in a curve to be gathered on top of the shoulder on the opposite side. Under that the bottom skims down to the waist area.
• The waist is shaped by the fabric being gathered in at the side and the way it is cut. If you wanted to add more shape you could easily add a belt.
• The panel that starts underneath the top panel extends down past the hip and does the same sweeping over the internal skirt. It curves up to the side to form an opposite curve to the one of the bodice.
• There is one more sweeping curve formed over the lower skirt. This one matches the direction of the curve of the top part of the dress. The way that it gathered in the side gives it a little bit more of a ruffled feel then the other two.
• I love this back-and-forth sweeping feel that the dress has. It almost feels like petals of a flower as they curve over you. On the runway, each of the three spots was highlighted with a flower. If you wanted to re-create that look it would be very easy to add removable flowers set on a brooch and you could use whatever colour you chose at the three spots.
• This is a beautifully made and elegant dress of the highest possible quality given that it's true Couture.
• The dress is fully lined in handset silk organza under the panels and a blue silk through the body. It closes with a back zipper. All of the work is done by hand. It appears to have been worn very little if at all.
• There is no size tag present because it is true Couture. Please see the measurements listed below.

• This dress is from the Fall 2014 Mary Katrantzou Collection.
• It was made under the creative direction of Mary Katrantzou
• The digital prints that were on many of her dresses during this time period are what launched her to fame. No one really was doing them to the same degree. You can see the inspiration for this dress in looks 2 and 26. 
• The fervor for these dresses is hard to comprehend now, but many of her dresses were sold out worldwide and wait-listed. 
• The dress is made out of a fabric that has almost the feel of a very lightweight neoprene. This allows it to perfectly hold the intended shape on and off the body.
• The neckline is scooped wider across and the shoulders are soft. Sleeves begin and are set in wider and then narrow down slightly to the wrist. The fabric that it is made out keep it soft and comfortable to wear despite its exaggerated structured shape.
• The bodice skims down to the seamed waist for added shape and the skirt is fitted into that. The front panel of the bodice continues down past the waist to the hem and has a more flat and sleek feel.
• The fulness of the skirt is created by a added panel that wraps around and curves under itself to meet that inner front panel. This is what gives the skirt its incredible fullness. 
• Built in between the top layer of the skirt and the lining is netting to help hold the shape and fullness.
  
• Hidden along those seams on each side of the skirt are pockets.
• The front bodice and that inner front panel has been done in a deep blue and then the digital print runs down the front to just past the waist. The sleeves entire back of the dress and the skirt to where it meets that front panel are all done in black.
• This is an incredible dress and was never worn. It still has its original tags in place.
• The dress is fully lined in a blue silk or organza. Built in netting through the skirt as described above. It closes with a back hidden set set zipper. Hidden set zippers at each cuff. It was never worn and still has its original tags attached.

• The twin of this dress in red walked the Spring 1985 runway.
• It was made under the creative direction of Yves Saint Laurent.
• The red version was used for the 1985 ad campaign shot by Helmut Newton that featured his long time muse Kirat Young.
• This is one of the iconic pieces of that season and I am very pleased to have found this deep blue one. I feel like the darker colour makes it slightly less scandalous feeling and it is something you could wear more often.
• These were made in two versions for production, a more modest cut version that was produced in greater quantities and then the deeply plunged dresses that stayed true to the runway and are harder to find.
• The dress is made from a beautiful deep blue silk jersey that has enough weight and drape to it so that is falls perfectly in the sharp angular lines that Yves wanted it to be shaped in.
• It is a beautiful representation of this time period with its precisely shaped strong shoulders and how the shape of it narrows in as it reaches the hem.
• The dress is cut to skim over the body. It hooks and snaps to close at the waist in behind that spectacular gold and jewel clasp.
• The low cut V of the front is if course what makes it so edgy and the addition of that strong shot of gold at the waist makes it an instantly recognizable piece of YSL.
• The clasp is based on a Robert Goossen design and suggests coral or branches, each tipped with a glittering rhinestone.
• The centre is a large faceted glass stone and this hides the hooked clasp behind it that brings in the waist. The fabric is gathered in towards that clasp to give you shape while still keeping it very easy to wear.
• The dress skims over you from shoulder to hem and each sleeve is long and cut to mimic the shape of the body of the dress by having them be cut wider at the shoulders and then narrow down to the zippered wrist.
• It is amazing on the body and just a beautiful and iconic piece of his work.
• The dress is partially lined through the upper bodice in a matching blue silk chiffon with the rest of the dress unlined. It slips on to wear and hooks in at the waist behind the jewel with a flat hook & eye. The keyhole under that closes with hidden set snaps. There is an attached inner waist stay to help hold the dress in place around you. The waist measurement below is based on that inner stay. If you needed more room, you could easily add to it or remove it. I have added the exterior waist measurement for you as well. Each sleeve zips to close. Padding in each shoulder. The fabric does have stretch so should work on various body types, stretching to accommodate curves and draping on smaller frames. It appears to have been worn very little if at all.

• This set dates to the late 1970s 
• It was made under the creative direction of George Stavropoulos.
• Stavropoulos was known for his evening wear and his signature looks often involved draping and the use of silk done on a bias cut. He focused on cut and fabric to convey the beauty of each piece. It was said that his gowns 'seemed to float on air'.
• He launched his label in 1960 and soon was dressing women like Elizabeth Taylor, Jackie Kennedy, Barbra Streisand and Maria Callas. His gowns are were made by hand and to couture standards in his salon. 
• This is a set made of two pieces and both pieces are made out of a feather light black netting topping two layers of black silk organza.
• The top layer has a combination of little red dots hand embroidered directly onto net mixed with clusters of black dots created from a black metallic fabric that was also hand applied. I love the fantastic pop of colour this gives the entire set.
  
• The neckline is cut in a shallow V across at the front. The top wraps too close and can be fully opened. To wear it you wrap it around yourself and then it closes with a series of hooks and snaps hidden under the red piping to the side.
• Piped red straps curve up and over each shoulder. That same red piping edges is the entire top. I love the sweet little red bows set down the front to the side. The very last bow extends out into long ties that trail down the skirt.
• The skirt wraps and closes around you. The snaps and hooks are hidden along the inner waist line. It wraps over itself to one side and on the side that overlaps you see the red piping all the way to hem.
• The skirt falls in this extravagant sweep of bias cut silk to the floor. I love how much it widens out by the hem. It really is incredibly full and having the three layers of fabric help to hold the shape and also create beautiful movement around you as you move.
• Having two pieces gives you the added versatility of wearing them together to give the look of a dress or you can mix and match them with pieces you already own to extend their wear. 
  
• It is an outstanding example of his work and is an absolutely fantastic piece of vintage.
  
• The top is lined in a layer of black silk organza and the skirt has two layers under the top layer. Both pieces close with combination of snaps and hooks as described above. Hand work throughout. You could adjust the size up or down by moving the snaps and hooks.

• This is an original Mexican sundress that dates to the 1960s or maybe even a little earlier.
• These were made by hand by local artisans for the tourist market. I think this one is one of the prettiest I have ever seen and I think I will be sad to see it go once it sells.
  
• I love that it has its original label inside as the label is as pretty and unique as the dress itself.
• These lovely little hand embroidered cotton Mexican dresses are works of art in my opinion and this one is an amazing example.
• The base fabric is a crisp black cotton that has been top stitched with little vertical pin tuck seams that cover the entire dress. These add visual detail and also help to shape the dress.
• Distinct bands of hand embroidered yarn flowers run around each sleeve, the band around the waist and above the lower hem of the skirt. That is what adds the bright pops of colour to the dress that you see. It is incredible.
• The neck line is squared off at both the front and back and the shoulders are soft.
• Each sleeve is cut so that it fall straight from the shoulder to the embroidered band and then underneath that it has these amazing cuffs that expand out to become incredibly full. Each is a full circle all the way around if you lay them out flat.
• A wide band of lace edges the bottom of the sleeve. You see lace used throughout the dress in between the different portions and parts of the pattern.
• The lace is all placed strategically so you get a little glimpse of skin underneath but are still properly covered. It is fantastic.
• The bodice skims to the band of embroidery at the waist and then the skirt sits under that. It gradually widens out to be very full by the time it reaches the hem.
• Everything about this dress is beautiful and it is rare to find one that is still so crisp and perfect. It is a beautiful dress.
• Unlined and closes with a painted metal zipper at the back. It appears to have been worn very little if at all.

• The dress is made out of a feather light black silk that has tiny little red lines running over the silk that highlight the cut and line of the dress. 
• The neckline is cut straight across at the front and the back of the dress.
• Tiny straps in a matching black silk curve up and over each shoulder. 
• The seam work is set on angles and it is cut so that the waist is brought in and then it curves back out and over the hips.
• From there the skirt falls in this extravagant sweep of bias cut silk to the floor. I love how much it. widens out by the hem. This allows it to move beautifully around you as you move.
• Underneath the top layer of silk is an unexpected red lining. When you sit or move you get these little flashes of that great red that is fantastic. 
• The same red is used in the stripes that run over the entire dress. These bands of colour are stacked on top of each other and are set on angles running down and around the entire dress to add visual interest and shape.
• There is a slight elastic around the top neckline and this would let you wear this as a strapless piece and just tuck the little straps in if you wanted.
• The dress is fully lined in a red silk and it closes with a side set zipper. It appears to have been worn very little at all.

• This dress is from the 2022 collection.
• It was made under the creative direction of Sarah Burton.
• we found a photo of the dress on so you can see how it works on an actual body.
• The dress is made from layers of an off-white ivory silk chiffon that floats beautifully over the body. 
• Tiny adjustable straps curve up and over your shoulder to connect at the sides of the bodice and back. You would have the option to tuck the straps in and wear this as a strapless dress if you wished.
• The bodice is cupped and inside there are wired inner cups to hold the shape and give you structure and support.
• Onto the bodice is a beautiful and elaborate design made out of a braided silver thread, silver tube beads, and prong set rhinestones and beads in various sizes. These are set over the bodice to form a design of leafs and vines that swirl deep into each side. 
• The silk chiffon falls from under there and flows all the way down to the floor. The movement the silk chiffon has is incredible. The fabric is very light in weight so that when you move it swirls around you.
• There are extra panels of the silk chiffon attached along the upper edge of the back. these fold inwards from the sides and i love how to silk is swept slight towards them. These fall to the floor to give a beautiful caped feel to the back. 
• It is a very striking and romantic feeling dress. 
• The dress is fully lined in an ivory silk and closes with a back hidden set zipper. There is a built-in inner corset that is boned and cupped. I see a tiny repair near the hem of the skirt and there is a little bit of very minor pulling here and there.

• The twin of this dress was a part of the presentation for the Resort 2012 collection.
• It was made under the creative direction of Alber Elbaz.
• The dress is made of an ivory cotton lace with silk net edging that falls beautifully over the body. 
• The bodice has a soft and romantic feel as it glides over you. The shoulders are wide and curve into a shallow scoop at the front. I love how he chose to edge the neckline and openings for the arms with that little bit of silk for a pretty contrast.
• The lace skims over the bust and is cut more generously around the waist. This helps to keep the silhouette soft and pretty. If you did want a more defined shape you could easily add a belt or silk ribbon around the waist that could be as elaborate as or simple as you wished it to be.
• The lace skims past the waist and then the skirt is set over top of the lace of the bodice in a very deliberate way that makes the seam there a part of the design. The workmanship is exquisite where they meet and I love how the fabric of the skirt has been gathered into little ruffles that curve all the way around you.
• From there it falls over the hips and down to the floor in a beautiful drape of lace. The fabric is light and soft and there is an additional layer of silk chiffon underneath so that it feels amazing against the skin. 
• All of the fabric that was gathered in around the top of the hips is allowed to expand and give you the fullness of the skirt so that you get this pretty sweep of fabric around you when you move.
• It is extremely pretty and romantic in feel.
• The dress is fully lined in an ivory silk chiffon. It closes with an exposed bronze colour zipper at the side. It is in its original length. It appears to have been worn very little at all.

• Philip Hulitar designed from 1949 to his retirement in 1964 so his pieces fall in a very defined period of time. He was known for his sophisticated dresses and evening gowns. Shortly after the launch of his label a journalist gushed that; 'The star of a gifted designer has risen recently on the fashion horizon'. Prior to the launch of his label he was the in-house designer and head of the women's dress division for Bergdorf Goodmans for 18 years.
  
• I had this dress completely restored and it is absolutely gorgeous.
• The dress is made out of a rich ivory champagne coloured silk.
• The bodice is strapless and it is lightly boned to help to hold the shape once it is on the body.
• I love the little bow detail that sits on one side of the bodice to add pretty detail. 
• The waist nips in and then the skirt curves out and over the hips. It widens from there to the floor in a stunning expanse of silk.
• Running down the centre of the front and also down the back are inset panels made out of the same silk. The silk has been hand gathered inside of each of those panels.
• I love how they add to the hourglass shape the dress has and it also adds an incredible detail to the dress.
• The back is cut slightly longer for a beautiful sweep of fabric as you walk.
• It is a beautiful and rare piece of 1950s couture.
• The dress is fully lined in a matching silk organza that has darkened to have a tea dyed feel to it for most of it. It closes at the back with a hand set metal zipper. Light boning through the interior bodice. I see a tiny foxing mark on one side of the outer skirt and there are minor areas of the teeniest bit of along the edges under each arm. Hand finishes throughout. 
• There is no size tag present. Please go by the measurements listed below.

• The set is from the 1976 Christian Dior collection.
• It was made under the creative direction of Marc Bohan.
• This is a shorter skirt version in purple and turquoise of the set that was photoed for L'Officiel in 1976. We had a red version many, many years ago and I am very pleased to have found this one.
• Both pieces are made out of a crepe silk chiffon that is light in weight and moves quite beautifully.
• I love that because it is two pieces you can wear it together to get the full look or you can mix and match it with pieces you already own.
• The top can play double duty as it can be worn as a proper top or you could layer it over other pieces as more of a light jacket.
• The top can be tucked in and left loose and easy, or worn belted, whether tucked in or loose, giving you even more versatility.
• The shoulders are soft and they extend out into sleeves that are cut wide and full for a bit of a kimono feel.
• The neck has no collar and there is a silk covered button at the top of the neck. If you choose to close this, it creates a slit keyhole that runs to the first of seven buttons that sit midway on the top. There are no buttons below that so if you wear it un-tucked it is open at the bottom and very pretty.
• Running around the collar and down both sides of the front is an edging of a pretty gold piping that adds a beautiful finishing touch.
• The skirt has a band around the waist and is cut slimmer around the hips with pin tuck seams for a little detail and shape.
• At the bottom of the hip the skirt opens on each side with a series of soft pleats that give you extra volume on the sides. As you move, this gives you beautiful movement around you. I also love the subtle reference of picking up on the volume of the sleeves
• It is absolutely beautiful and a wonderfully documented set.
• The top is unlined and the skirt is fully lined in a purple bias cut silk. The top buttons to close at the front and the skirt closes with a zipper and hook an eye at the waist.

• The twin of this dress walked the runway for the Fall 1987 show.
• It was made under the creative direction of Yves Saint Laurent.
• We have included reference photos of it from the runway for you so that you can see how fabulous it is on the body. We even found one where you can see the model walking back down the runway so you can see how gorgeous it is from the back as well.
• This is an easy to wear and very chic little YSL dress perfect for parties.
• The top layer of the dress is an unusual blue-purple colour that runs through a lace feeling fabric.
• It has a bit of a metallic feel from it caused by a metallic thread that runs through the lace.
• Over that are thousands of glossy black sequins that follow the pattern. The sequins catch the light from every angle.
• Underneath that top layer is a deep blue silk chiffon that has a touch of transparency to it with the two layered over each other it is opaque enough to wear safely.
• The combination of these two fabrics keep it light and weight so that it feels amazing once on the body.
• The dress sits off the shoulder to leave a bare expanse of skin across the top and it is finished with a pretty black silk organza ruffle. 
• The sleeves fall to just past the elbow and each is also finished with a ruffle.
• From there the dress skims over you, running over the bust and past the waist, with no seaming there to break the line. At the top of the hip there is a seam that has another ruffled detailing.
• The skirt falls under that and widens out as it nears the hem. A final ruffle goes all the way around the edge of the skirt. The back of the skirt is set to hang a touch longer than the front. This gives you a beautiful curve from the side and adds a touch of pretty volume.
• It is a gorgeous dress and really showcases Yves' innovative eye and design genius.
• The dress is fully lined in a dark blue silk chiffon. It closes at the side with a zipper. It appears to have been worn very little if at all.

• This dress is from the Fall 1979 Haute Couture Yves Saint Laurent collection.
• It was made under the creative direction Yves Saint Laurent.
• The 1979 collection was an a homage to Picasso and Diaghilev. Yves had been to an exhibit on Picasso costume and set designs for Diaghilev's ballet Russes. At the time he told French Vogue that he had been on a different path entirely for the collection but then he saw the exhibition and "my collection took on the structure of a ballet. I embroidered on Picasso, on a slightly soft cubism, on harlequin, the Blue Period, the Pink. It's best when in inspiration comes! You no longer have any doubt, you get on with it, you feel an immense joy!"
• You can see that inspiration of the harlequin especially on the pattern of this dress. We found several runway examples where he used the same pattern and added those here. It was a significant part of the collection.
• In the YSL folio that contains all the drawings from the collection, I saw that he had to use this particular print in several colours; a golden brown, a red, a white and black, and this magnificent blue. I have also included a sketch of the dress that is closest to this particular piece. Based on the drawings in my folio, it seems that this is most likely a one off done in collaboration with the client's request.
• The dress would have been made completely by hand in the Paris atelier.
• It is made out of a beautiful fine silk that has a secondary pattern within the weave in the same blue and then it is printed with that black design leaving the blue to show between. The silk is of the highest possible grade.
• You can see the very beginnings of the classic Yves Saint Laurent sack dress to come in the cut and silhouette in this dress. These sack dresses played on volume and cut. As the years went by they got bigger and looser through the middle. This one is still on the edge of being a more loose-waist A-line. 
• The collar is banded in the same silk and the silk is gathered in around it for a little added detail. The shoulders are soft and the upper portion of the sleeve is wider and set in a slight cap on the top of the shoulder. This narrows down to a cuffed wrist that ends in a ruffle made of the same silk.
• The cut through the body is loose and easy and it is almost tubular in feel with just the slightest bit of narrowing as it nears the hem. 
• I love how this makes it easy to wear and that it gives you the option of wearing it loose or adding a belt to cinch it in and add shape around the waist.
• I have shot it both of those ways with an added black rope belt. The belt is not original to the dress but will be included.
• The perfect finishing touch is the little slits on either side of the skirt. These allow for movement when you move and gives you ease of walking plus a little bit of extra leg to show.
• This is a superb piece of Couture and is an early example of his work.
• The dress is unlined and slips over the head to wear with a single button at the back of the neck above a keyhole. Each cuff buttons to close. It is entirely made by hand. The appropriate Haute Couture label is present.
• There is no size tag present because it is true Couture. Please go by the measurements listed below.

• The twin of this dress walked the Spring 2000 runway
• It was made under the creative direction of Thierry Mugler
• I love that we have both photo and video references so you can see just how beautifully it moves once on the body. And that we have a photo of it with Thierry himself.
• The dress is made out of a nude chiffon that is light in weight and drapes beautifully over the body.
• The dress is cut with Mugler's masterful eye and attention to detail.
• It is suspended from one shoulder and the other is left bare and exposed. All the seaming on the dress is set vertically so that it enhances and highlights the curves of the body. 
• The bust and waist are created by the shaping of those beautifully curving vertical seams.
• It skims over the hips and then falls to the floor with a slight widening out as it nears the hem. The hem is cut on a slight angle so that the side that has the shoulder is cut a little bit longer than the other. 
  
• The shoulder is detailed with a panel of fabric that you can sweep behind you for a bit of extra movement when you move.
• At the very top of the shoulder is an extra large custom made piece made out of an acrylic that has pale green rhinestones embedded in it to follow its curves.  I love this added detail. These would have been custom-made for each dress and it is very special to find a piece that has one of these on it still.
• The very outer layer of the chiffon is split quite high along the edge at the back and this adds incredible movement to the dress as you can see on the runway. You are still fully covered by the inner dress underneath.
• It is an extraordinary dress that is rare and highly collectible. It is even better in person then how it shot here.
• The dress is fully lined in a matching fabric and closes with a hidden set side zipper. I see one tiny catch in the fabric near the seam just above the hem. It is very minor and only mentioned for accuracy. It otherwise appears to have been worn very little if at all.

• The twin of this dress walked the runway for the Spring 2016 Celine show as Look 38.
• It was made under the creative direction of Phoebe Philo.
• This is a fantastically documented dress. It was used in the ad campaign that season, shot for various editorials and was seen on multiple occasions being worn and documented on various people.
• Phoebe Philo told Vogue that "It's about taking her out of urban life and putting her feet on the sand. It's where I long to be, more and more. I am somebody who is interested in how clothes makes us feel and and how we behave in different places. I thought if you were travelling for a year what would you need to take with you?" Vogue noted the jersey dresses especially saying "long fluid jersey dresses with high waisted bodices and chaste-medieval scooped necks."
• The dress is made out of one of her signature jerseys and is a remarkable colour that is best described as perhaps a pastel peach with a touch of sand.
• The jersey makes it fluid over the body and easy to travel with.
• The shoulders are soft, and the sleeves are long with hidden set zippers at the end of each cuff.
• As noted in the vogue description, the front scooped with a band of the same fabric, edging and neckline. This goes around to the back where long ties extend out and tie as you wish.
• The back is scooped in a fantastic rounded form to leave a bare expanse of skin showing. I love the sensuality of the ties draping over the skin.
• The waist is banded and at the back there is a little unexpected suede rectangle that snaps over the top of the zipper and is highlighted with two gold studs.
• The skirt falls from under there to between the ankle and knee depending on your height. It's gathered in around the band at the waist and then has quite a bit of jersey so it move spectacularly around you as you move. You can see this in the reference video.
• This is a highly collectible and a fabulous piece from Phoebe's time at the label.
• The dress is online but beautifully finished inside. It closes with a hidden set back zipper, and then that suede piece snaps in place over that the ties tie behind the neck. Each cuff has a hidden set zipper. I see one tiny smudge near hem otherwise the dress appears to have been worn very little if at all

• The twin of this dress walked the Spring 2019 Chloe runway for a Look 52
• It was made under the creative direction of Natacha Ramsay-Levi.
• This is a wonderfully documented piece. A version appeared in the ad campaign, seen on the red carpet and was shot for an editorial. I love that this lets you see how wonderful it is once on the body.
• The Vogue review of the show noted that "Natacha Ramsay-Levi's instincts lead her to Ibiza and Morocco and what she described variously as hippie, modernism and new age Boho." They noted this dress in particular saying "the plisse goddess gown worn by Grace Hartsell" was one of the "clothes with the most persuade of power, exuding and elegant unfettered purity."
• This dress was the stand out piece from the collection in my opinion and it is even better in person.
• The dress is made out of a lightweight chiffon that is pleated and textured in a soft plisse that is set vertically from shoulder to hem. At first glance, you might think that all the colours are separate panels that have been attached together, but it is actually dyed vertical stripes down the length of the dress. I love how where they meet a softly fade into the colour next to it.
• The chiffon is light in weight and the plisse adds such a gorgeous texture. I am very glad that we have both the runway photos and so many reference photos and video for you to see how fantastically it moves once on.
• The front is set in two triangles that meet at a seam just under the bus. This repeats at the back where the panels meet in a more true V.  I love how this gives you four distinct panels and leaves the sides open to that same sea under the bust. Even with the plunging the way that it has been cut keeps it very secure around you.
• A peplum made of the same fabric circles all the way around the waist for a pretty detail.
• Under that screw in a beautiful column of the plisse fabric. There's actually quite a bit of fabric in the skirt that only shows when you begin to move and walk. And the lightness of the fabric gives you beautiful movement around you as you can see in the video.
• At the back panels of the same fabric have been attached at the top of each shoulder with a little ruffle for added detail.
• These panels fall down the back connecting at their centre to create the feel of a cape behind you. They are cut, so they're a little longer on each outer edge to fall slightly past the hem of the dress.
• The panels only add to the beautiful movement that the dress has.
• The the colour is described as being sand brown on the label and it is a very pretty muted colour with the feel of beach or desert sand.
• The lightness of the fabric gives it incredible movement as you move. It is a fantastically cut dress that perfectly encapsulates the Chloe girl.
• The dress is lined behind the panels of the bodice in a matching chiffon, and the skirt is unlined. It closes with a hidden set back zipper. The dress is new with its original tag and appears to have never been worn.

• This dress has a print that was used in and around the 1974 collections. Similar prints were also used slightly earlier.
• It was made under the creative direction of Yves Saint Laurent
• The colours in the cotton are amazing. It has held the colour extremely well and they are as crisp and vibrant as the day it went on the shop floor. 
• Yves was a master at choosing the fabrics that were the perfect compliment to the prints that he used. This dress is no exception to that rule with its riot of bright flowers covering its surface. The choice of the cotton make it feather light and allow the skirt to float around you when you move.
•  This is such pretty and easy to wear dress. It is actually a very simple shape that is meant to skim over the bust, waist and hips.
• It is strapless with band of gathered top stitched fabric around the top of the neck line to hold it easily in place on you. The band is meant to sit just above the bust. 
• The dress floats over the bodice and then there is another wider band of the gathering that runs around the waist. The bodice is cut so that it drapes over the waist a touch.
• The skirt falls in to the floor under the elaborate gathered portion of the waist. The top part of the skirt widens out to a seam around the knee and then the lower skirt is gathered into that.
• The lower skirt has quite a bit of fabric and has a gorgeous flounce around you. It is quite full so has gorgeous movement around you as you move.
• The dress is flattering, easy to wear, and is a really beautiful piece of his work that is very representative of this era of his work.
• The dress is unlined and closes with a back zipper. It appears to have been worn very little at all

• The twin of this dress walked the runway for Look 50 in the Spring 2016 runway.
• It was made under the creative direction of both Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli.
• The show was based on Africa as its inspiration and at this period of time the world was watching refugees attempting the journey to Italy. In the Vogue review for this collection Maria and Pierpaulo were quoted as saying; 'We probably feel that the greatest privilege in doing our work is that fashion can give a message,” said Chiuri. “We think every person coming here is an individual, and we can show that we can improve ourselves by understanding other cultures.'... 'The message,' added Piccioli, 'is tolerance. And the beauty that comes out of cross-cultural expression.'
• The dress is made from an extremely light in weight cotton with an inner nude cotton layer underneath and then that is entirely covered in a stunning giraffe and fauna print done in a deep orange and navy. 
• Many of the pieces fused both Italian and African traditions , 'They met in the textiles' and the prints in the collection was described as "African-inspired prints with wax block detailed their Spring 2016 collection. The collection was praised for a respectful rather than literal interpretation of African cultural influences."
• The lines of this dress are wonderfully simple and yet it still feels glamorous with the head-to-toe print. 
• The neckline is high and the shoulders soft. It skims over your bust to a slight more generously cut waist. The sleeves are long and narrow in slightly at the wrists.
•  From there it curves over the hips and begins to widen out to the floor. There is a surprising amount of fabric in the skirt, but because of the lightness of the fabric, it falls in a more column silhouette until you begin to move.
• The print that covers the dress is stunning. It is set to highlight the lines of the dress and is specifically placed to accomplish that goal.
• The dress has an inner slip dress made of nude cotton that buttons in place inside the shoulder. It closes with a hidden set back zipper. Each cuff buttons to close. It appears to have been worn very little if at all.

• This dress is from the 2018 Christian Dior Resort collection.
• It was made under the creative direction of Maria Grazia Chiuri.
• This collection was shown in the Upper Las Virgenes Canyon Open Space Preserve in Calabasas, California. For this collection, Maria went into the archives where 'she came across the house founder's Lascaux collection of 1951 inspired by the ancient K paintings discovered in southwestern France a decade earlier.' she used those sketches throughout the collection, mixing them with nods to the tarot and pretty Prairie dress themes.
• The mix of the floral print and lace seen on this dress can be found on Look 75, while the cut of the dress seems to be a dead ringer of Look 79. We included both those references here so you can get an idea of how fantastic this will be on an actual body.
• The floral printed portion of the dress is made out of a silk chiffon and this is mixed with a cotton lace. Inside it is finished in a black cotton that keeps the dress soft and pretty as well as light in weight. 
• The bodice of the dress is fitted with a built-in corset that is cupped and boned to sit perfectly in place around you.
• I love the edging of lace around the top of the bodice and then this is repeated with a panel of lace that wraps around the waist.
• Curving over each shoulder is a hand beaded strap in a mix of colours pulled from the desert. This unexpected pop is the perfect contrast to the soft floral of the dress.
• Each strap is hand beaded with the phrase J'dore Christian Dior repeated, leaving no doubt as to who you are wearing.
• The skirt is cut to be very full. It falls from under the lace panel around the waist and then expands outwards from there. This gives it a soft and easy movement around you as you move. If you lay the skirt of flat it is just short of being a true circle skirt by the time it reaches to hem.

• This is an absolutely fantastic and rare piece from the Spring 1993 Versace collection.
• It was made under the creative direction of Gianni Versace.
• Similar pieces was seen on the runway worn by Linda Evangelista, versions were shot for Italian Vogue and used for various editorials that season.
• This collection was an homage to South Beach, a place that Gianni absolutely loved. In 1991 he bought Casa Casuarina, a mansion on Ocean Drive. Two years and $30 million later it was a lavish palazzo. But before that completed, he created this spring 1993 show as a love letter to South Beach. Little Havana was referenced in the amazing bell bottom pieces and floral printed silks, both of which are found on this jumpsuit. 
• The jumpsuit is made out of a black and white floral printed silk that has a beautifully soft finish to it which makes it very comfortable and easy to wear once on the body.
• A wide 5" band of the floral printed silk is mixed with a second ruffle made out of a black and white dotted silk. This gorgeous double layer of ruffles circles around the shoulders with a silk covered elastic band that lets it sit perfectly in place on you. I I love the bare expanse of skin this leaves showing across the top of the shoulders. As good as it looks on the dress form it will be even better once it is on a body.
• The body of the jumpsuit skims over you and its cut is shaped to follow your curves. Depending on your preference and size, it can be worn super fitted or have more of a skimming feel over you.
• All of the shape over the bust, waist and hips is created by long vertical seaming. The waist curves to come in for shape and then the silk curves back out over the hips.
• The pants are phenomenal. Each one has a fairly straight leg to about the knee. At that point there is a curving seam that wraps around the waist and into that the bottom of the pant leg has been added. The fabric is done in an extra full flare to create that fantastic bell bottom that you see. It is made out of two layers of silk. There is an inner dotted layer that extends out past the hem and then the floral printed layer over that. When you lay it out each bell bottom is a full 52" all the way around. I love how the dotted fabric peeks out from below the hem and ties the dotted fabric on the ruffle around the shoulders together perfectly.
• The extreme bell shape of the lower pant legs creates phenomenal movement when you move but because the silk fabric is so light and fine they have the perfect amount of fullness when you stand still.
• The jumpsuit is unlined and closes with a back zipper. It appears to have been worn very little if at all.

• The near twin of this rare dress walked the runway for the Fall 1995 collection with an added cape.
• The dress was made under the creative direction of Thierry Mugler.
• A version of the dress was included for the "Thierry Mugler: Couturissime" Exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum
• Mugler was a masterpiece of draping and cut and this is a fantastic example of that. It is cut with Mugler's masterful eye and attention to detail.
• The dress is very rare and special. It is spectacular on the body.
• The dress is made out of a black silk mixed with an ivory silk set on a combination of angled and curving panels down the entire front. 
• A wide set curving V comes down the front bodice. An ivory panel circles the neck line and then follows the V into a point that plunges to the centre of the waist. A small black silk flower sits where the two meet. The flower is a removable brooch so if you prefer it without it is easily removed.
• I love how the parts on the bodice are a mix of curves and angles. The curving parts feel feminine and emphasize the shape of the body while the angles are more edgy in contrast. 
• The sleeves come directly out from the shoulder with gussets underneath the arm and no set shoulder seam to break the eye. Each sleeve ends in a little turned up cuff of the same black silk.
• The waist is snatched in and the insets of ivory visually exaggerate the cinched in shape.
• The skirt has been cut to have a deliberate outward curve around the top of the hip. From there it flows down and over the hips and then narrows inwards as it nears the hem. A high slit up the back allows you to walk and lets a bit of a leg to show.
  
• A second inset ivory silk panel runs down the full front of the skirt from the waist seam. It mimics that same curving shape that we see through the hip and also narrows down to the hem of the skirt.
• The ivory parts that runs from shoulder to hem are all done to give the visual appearance of an exaggerated hourglass / wasp silhouette.
• The dress is fully lined in a black silk and closes with a back zipper. The flower at the waist is pinned on and is easily removed. It appears to have worn very little effort at all.

• The twin of this dress was shown for Look 70 of the resort 2017 Valentino collection.
• It was made under the creative direction of Pierpaolo Piccioli & Maria Grazia Chiuri.
• This ended up being the final collection that Maria worked on for the Valentino label.
• The inspiration behind the collection was Cuba and the looks were rife with embroidery and print. Piccioli remarked that "It gave us a real freedom to mix, like a souvenir, lots of pieces together."
• The dress has the added provenance of being the twin of the dress worn by Natalie Portman that year on the red carpet. She wore it beautifully and it shows you just how spectacular the dress is once on the body.
• The dress is made out of a light weight, more open weave black net that sits over a black silk chiffon lining to make it opaque enough to wear. Onto that is a stark white embroidery that forms a beautiful pattern over the entire dress.
• The neckline is set wide across so that it sits at the edges of the shoulders. If you are not very broad across the shoulders you should be able to wear it fully off the shoulder. The dress form shows it fully off the shoulder. The collection photo shows it at the very edge and then Natalie chose to wear it a little higher up. I love that this let you see all of the options.
• A wide 9" ruffle follows the entire neckline and gives it the prettiest flounce all the way around you.
• Under that the bodice skims down to the seamed waist and then the skirt is smoothly set into the waist. From there the skirt expands outwards and by the time it reaches the hem it has an amazing amount of volume. The back is cut slightly longer than the front so you get a beautiful sweep.
• The the hem of the skirt has a ruffle that picks up on the one around the shoulders and that ruffle is a full 13" wide. Underneath the top layer is two more layers of black netting that sit between the top skirt and the inner silk chiffon lining. I love how this added touch of underskirts along with the beautiful cut of the skirt adds to the volume and detail of the skirt. It also gives you fantastic movement when you move.
  
• This is an absolutely stunning dress and this particular cut of dress is one of my favourites. 
• The dress is fully lined in a black silk chiffon with extra layers of netting through the skirt as described above. It closes with a hidden set back zipper. It appears to have been worn very little if at all.

• The dress is from one of the 2000s Richard Tyler Couture collection.
• It was made under the creative direction of Richard Tyler.
• Richard Tyler was the designer to wear in the 1990s and early 2000s. He won the Council of Fashion Designers of America New Talent award in 1993. In 1994 and 1995 he won the Council's Womenswear Designer of the Year award. Julia Roberts, Janet Jackson, and Sigourney Weaver were just a few of the stars who loved his work and his dresses made regular appearances on the red carpet.
• Tyler was known for his impeccable tailoring and finishes and at the time employed some of the best tailors and seamstresses in the business.
• The dress is made out of silk and is beautifully structured. It is cut to appear like it just drapes into place, but with its lining and infrastructure around the bodice area, it does have more structure than it appears at first glance.
• This gorgeous little number is in amazing condition and is cut beautifully. It is suspended from the shoulders by tiny straps that curve over and down the back.
• The dress is cut to follow the curves of your body but without being super tight.
• The neckline dips into a wide cut V at the front that allows the straps to sit at the edges of your shoulders.
• There are ruffled gathered panels that are set over the dress to highlight the cut and shape. You see this across the front bodice as they follow the curve, shape and angle down towards the waist, and then start their angled descent down the length of the full dress.
• When you turn around, the back has a low scoop that leaves most of your back completely bare and exposed. It is very sexy.
• The shape through the waist is cleverly created by those inset panels that curve over the body.
• From there, it curves back out over the hips and then falls to the floor. The skirt comes in slightly around the knee area and then the lower part of the skirt widens out substantially as it reaches the hem. Extra fabric has been worked through the back of the skirt where it is cut on a curve that is longer than the front hem. This gives you a sweeping feel as you walk away.
• There are added weights around the lower skirt and the piping that finishes the bottom hem has a touch of padding and weight to it. This has all been done to help hold the shape and volume of the lower skirt around you.
• It looks so simple on my dress form but this is a dress that is a bombshell piece once it is on an actual body. It is so good.
• The dress is fully lined in a black silk and closes with a hidden set side zipper. There is vertical boning on the sides of the bodice to help hold it in place. Perhaps a tiny bit of grubbiness and wear to the edge of the hem but this is extremely minor and only mentioned for accuracy. It otherwise appears to have been worn very little if at all.
• There is no size tag present, so please go by the measurements listed below.

• The twin of this jumpsuit walked the runway for the Fall 2019 Gorgio Armani collection as Look 80.
• It was made under the creative direction of Giorgio Armani.
  
• This is from his main label and its twin was also seen on both Cressida Bonas and Kelly Chen. I love having the reference photos so you can see how phenomenal it is once on the body.
• The Fall 2019 show was co-ed with both male and female models on the runway. Vogue said in part that "Armani served a pre-millennial nightclub’s worth of smoky whorl and twist." Velvet, beading and wide silk bands were integral to the looks in the show.
• The base fabric of the jumpsuit is an inky black velvet which gives the beading added on top of the velvet a luxe backdrop.
• The neckline is high and finished with black silk piping. The shoulders are soft and slightly dropped. The arms narrow slightly at the wrist where they are also finished with black silk piping. At the back the fabric wraps over itself to button and snap into place along the neck line. It is a very interesting way to close the piece.
• Starting at the centre of the neckline is a black silk ribbon that is 2.5" wide and it runs all the way down the front to the waist. A second ribbon is attached under that to wrap around the waist and tie at the front so that you can cinch in for as much shape as you want. It can be worn with the waist left more generous and open, or very cinched.
• On the runway, and in the reference photos, you can see that it the bodice is split completely open down each side of the ribbon. That split is technically. there on this one as well but it is currently tacked closed with an added modesty panel under the lower half of it inside. If you wanted the full split feel of the runway, it would be very easy to reverse this and have it completely open on both sides all the way to the waist. 
• It skims over the bust and is cut generously around the waist for a easy to fit feel. The waist is finished with hidden elastic since there is no closure on the jumpsuit and you just simply slip it on to wear.
• From under the waist it curves out over the hips and then the legs fall in a wide straight cut all the way. They are very wide and that combined with the ease and drape of the velvet gives you gorgeous movement as you walk and move. They are a full 26" around the hem of each pant.
• Applied onto the jumpsuit is an intricate script pattern done in little faceted jet beads that are applied directly onto the velvet. These add the perfect amount of sparkle as they catch the light from every angle. If you look closely you will realize that they are his signature.
• I have taken close-ups of the extraordinary amount of bead work that has been done to make these. It is really exquisite workmanship.
• Hidden set pockets sit on each hip for the final perfect detail.
• The jumpsuit is fully lined in fine black silk. It slips onto where and then buttons and snaps around the back of the neck line. It appears to have been worn very little at all.

• The twin of this dress in red walked the Spring 2008 Christian Dior runway for Look 53.
• It was made under the Creative Direction of John Galliano. 
  
• This collection marked Dior's 60th anniversary and it was also John's 10th year with the label. He celebrated those milestones with a show that was a nod to both the archives and Old Hollywood glamour. Pieces were wait-listed worldwide and both colour versions of this dress were produced in very limited quantities.
• The red has been seen on the red carpet and we have included both runway and carpet photos here. It is a spectacular piece for the collector.
• To help visualize what this dress looks like on the body in black, we changed the runway dress to black, which gives you a great idea of what the final result will be on.
• The dress is made out of a luxurious black silk that is completely cut on the bias. John often chose this weight of silk because of the control it gave him to be able to drape and apply the level of seam work that he loved to do.
  
• The bodice is strapless with an inner boned and cupped corset that holds the dress in place around you.
• Silk panels have been draped, gathered and hand stitched into place to create the dramatic sweeping detailing you see at the front.
• At the back he gathered all of the fabric down and into the centre line to meet in a little peak at the centre of the waist.
• From there his signature bias cut allows the dress to skim and drape over you so that is shows every curve but is not overly fitted. As in many of his pieces the seaming has the feel  of the work you see from the twenties and thirties.
• The fabric has been pieced together with low dropped angled panels to create the widening of the lower skirt. It flares out at the bottom and at the back it is cut longer so that you get a sweeping feel behind you as you walk.
• A row of his signature tightly spaced buttons & loops in the same silk run up one side.
• This is an incredible example of his work and is highly collectible.
• The dress is fully lined in a black silk and closes at the side with a series of silk covered buttons. The inner boned and cupped corset hooks to close with two rows of lingerie hooks to choose from. The bias cut gives it some give in the measurements and I have given the comfortable range when the dress is laying flat below. It appears to have been worn very little if at all.

• .This dress dates to the 1960s and is an unlabelled piece by no specific designer.
• This is the type of piece you will only ever find in vintage.
• The bodice is strapless and completely covered in hand cut silk chiffon flower petals that are combined with little drops of pale pink lily of the valley flowers strung from little hand cut green 'leaf' bases. It is very pretty.
• All of the embellishment covering the bodice was done and applied by hand.
• The skirt is made from a pale pink silk chiffon and falls outward from just under the bust on a pretty line to the floor. Soft folds gather it in under the bust with more gathers placed towards the sides. 
• Underneath the top silk layer is an attached inner silk dress made out of a slightly deeper pink silk layered with a silk chiffon over top of it. This inner layer makes it opaque enough to wear. 
• Built inside the bodice is a cupped and boned inner support that holds the dress in place. 
• It is very pretty and romantic in feel.
• The dress is fully lined in silk and closes with two back zippers. There is an inner waist stay that hooks to close. I see some faint marks on the bottom of the skirt and some minor thinning of the silk near the hem here and there. The cut flowers on the bodice have darkened slightly with age I think. Please see the photos after the label shot and know that the dress is in good-great condition but it is not perfect. The colour is a bit paler pink in person than how it shot.

• This dress is from 2012 and it was a limited release piece.
• It was made under the creative direction of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.
• The twin of this dress was worn by Kylie Minogue and I love that the reference photos show how amazing this one is on. We were told that these were made in extremely limited quantities on a special order basis only so very few exist.
• Dolce and Gabbana was launched in 1985 by founders Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. By the 1990s they had open their own boutiques and in 1993 Madonna chose them for her Girlie Show tour and they gained world wide recognition. They are known for their dramatic designs that are heavily inspired by their Sicilian heritage.
• The dress that is incredibly beautiful. It is made from a pale nude silk tulle net that has a touch of a pink undertone to it. This is layered over inner layers of more tulle, lace netting and silk.
• The bodice is strapless and has a heavy application of hand cut out flowers hand applied to the tulle. Under that are more flowers that are scattered over the entire dress from there all the way to the hem.
• Running down the centre of the bodice are a cluster of soft silk chiffon flowers that add a beautiful detail. Small versions of these are also worked into the design over the top layer of the entire dress.
• The top layer of tulle is cut to be full all the way around you. More layers sit under that. At the back it is cut longer so you get a beautiful sweeping effect behind you and it adds incredible movement as you move. 
• Under the top layers of netting is an inner dress that has a dotted lace finish. I love the effect of this that it gives the dress. Under that layer are still more layers. The multiple layering creates a beautiful texture as they float over each other and they also help to give the dress its structure so that it holds the shape around you once on.
• The bodice is strapless and cut on a soft curve across the neckline. There is a built in boned corset on the inside for shape and to hold the dress in place on you. 
• It is an incredibly beautiful and romantic dress.
• The dress is fully lined in a soft nude silk. The innermost layer of stretch silk goes to just above the knee. It closes with a back zipper and then the tulle layer snaps over that to hide the zipper. Inside the bodice is a cupped and boned corset. I see one vertical repair in the tulle of the skirt at the back otherwise it appears to have been worn very little if at all.

• The twin of this dress walked the runway for the Fall 1998 YSL collection.
• It was made under the creative direction of Yves Saint Laurent
• The dress is gorgeous and the fabric itself is part of what makes it so fabulous.
• The body and sleeves are made out of a inky black velvet that gives the dress some structure. Onto this is a band of heavily applied overlapping glossy black sequins. The effect of the sequins in contrast to the richness of the velvet adds depth and interest.  
• This is a piece that shows his strong tailoring and detailed knowledge of how to cut a piece to best suit a woman's body. 
• The shoulders are lightly padded and the sleeve extend out from there. They are a touch fuller near the upper arm and then narrow slightly to their ends.
• The addition of the sequins is just spectacular. They are set in a band that has four stacked rows of sequins that are more densely applied so that they overlap each other. They begin at the back of the neck, curve around to follow the view of the front and then sit side-by-side all the way down to the hem.
• I love the plunge of the front and how it can be adjusted to sit as high or low as you dare. A zipper runs up the centre front and you can zip it higher or lower. The zipper only goes partway and then there is a high slit from the ham up. You can see how it sits in the runway photos and how great it is once on.
• The waist is brought in through the seams at the sides with no horizontal line to break the eye. 
• It glides over the hips and then widen out as it near the hem. The front slit helps to give it some width around you so it has great movement as you move.
• It is a phenomenal YSL from this time period.
• The dress is fully lined in a black silk and it closes with the zipper at the front. Light padding in each shoulder. I see the slightest wrinkling in the velvet under the arms. Nothing beyond normal wear and mention for accuracy.

• This is an amazing example of Galliano's work from Fall 2006 collection.
• The dress was made under the creative direction of John Galliano.
• The more elaborately beaded pieces were usually released in more limited quantities.
• It is very similar to a dress that I had in the shop before but this one is more elaborate and much longer. It is a really striking dress that is also very easy to wear because of its simple and bias cut. 
• The dress is made from three layers of a feather light black silk chiffon that are all attached to each other at the top of the shoulder and then float over each other from there. The very inside layer is a black silk chiffon with no texture and then the two top layers are a textured silk chiffon.
• The dress has a very loose and easy cut through the body so is very easy to wear and comfortable once on the body.
• The bodice has a draped neckline at the front and it does the same at the back. One shoulder is cut wider across and this is what extends out to form the neckline. The other shoulder is more delicate in feel and it is edged in lace. A small bow sits on the top of the shoulder.
• The bodice on the side with the wider strap is detailed with pintuck that runs vertically down the dress. On the side with the more narrow strap the silk is swept up to one side and held in place with a flat bow and a bit of a ruffle. The ruffle runs down the length of the dress all the way to the hem.
• This creates the illusion that the dress is wrapped around you and the bow is holding it in place. It is very clever.
• A hand set design that combines tiny seed beads and silver sequins details the neckline and are set in little clusters that run down the length of the dress. These give the dress a pretty glint in the light. 
• Most of the edges of the dress have a raw finish which adds an extra delicate bit of texture to the dress that is lovely.
• A slit runs up one side so you get a flash of bare leg when you move or sit and it is cut longer at the back so you get this fantastic sweeping feel behind you as move.
• The bias really only comes to life once on. As good as it looks in the photos here it is even better in person and on the body.
• The inner silk chiffon and middle tulle layer act as the lining underneath the top layer. The innermost layer has no closures. The middle layer closes with its own hidden set zipper and the very top layer closes with one of his signature tightly spaced rows of silk covered buttons. Because of the bias cut, it may come up slightly once on. It appears to have been worn very little if at all.

• The twin of this dress walked the runway for the Fall 1984 collection
• It was made under the creative direction of Marc Bohan.
• It is also the exact dress that was worn by Krysta Rodriguez in 2023
• This is a beautiful example of the work being produced by Christian Dior in this time period.
• In the book Dior; Catwalk, the notes on the fall collection state that the collection was placed 'under the sign of opposites' and that he had looked to the work of Abstract Expressionist painter Jackson Pollock for inspiration. Pieces were adorned in drip embroidery and motifs and then he did a series of long sheath dresses that were 'accessorized with 'Pollock jewels" in jet and multi colour stones'.
• We found several photos of the twin of this dress on the runway which shows you how fabulous it is on the body.
• The dress is a true Haute Couture piece and has the appropriate numbered label intact. It would have been made completely by hand in the Paris atelier.
• The dress is made out of a soft textured silk velvet in a jet black. Using a velvet that has this added texture to it is an incredible choice as the dress catches the light in different ways as you move and it really makes it come to life.
• The cut is simple and sleek with a low front neckline that dips from an angle created over each shoulder. It slightly curves down to the centre and then the fabric is softly gathered from there to the waist.
• This leaves it with a slightly bloused over feel over the the nipped in waist.
• The sleeves are cut long and they slim down as they reach the wrists. There is a slight volume built in at the outer part of each shoulder. On the inside I see hand made silk cases that at one time had light padding in them but the padding has been removed at some point to give it a softer shape. You could easily have some padding put back in if you wanted a stronger shoulder.
• Inside the bodice is a more fitted and boned inner silk corseted piece that holds you in place while the silk velvet simply drapes softly over that outside.
• The skirt is cut to feel sleek and simple as it falls to the floor narrowing in slightly as it reaches the hem. A vent runs up the back so that you can walk.
• It is a beautiful and dramatic piece despite its simple lines. 
• Fully lined in a black silk and it has a built in bodice made of black silk. The inner bodice is boned and closes with its own zipper. The exterior dress closes with a back painted metal zipper. Each sleeve has a zipper at the cuff. Tagged with the Couture #19469. Silk hand made pads that have no padding inside each shoulder as described above. I see some small flaws to the silk on either side of the zipper on the inner corset. Please see the photo after the label shot.

• The twin of this dress walked the runway for Look 55 for the Fall 2019 runway show.
• It was made under the creative direction of Pierpaolo Piccioli
• The Vogue review for this collection touched on Pierpaolos's inspiration for the show saying; "(he is) a man on an intuitive mission to place fashion on a positive plane. 'I feel that people are looking for emotion and dreams—but not distant dreams,' he said today before his ready-to-wear show was about to take to the runway. 'I want to create a community for Valentino. I mean something different from ‘lifestyle,’ which is about owning objects. It’s about people who share values.'"
• I love that we have the runway reference photos and video so you can see just how spectacular this one moves once it is on the body. It is one of my favourite dresses he ever made.
• The dress is made out of yards and yards of a feather-light yellow silk chiffon that is an exceptionally pretty colour. This fabric choice keeps the dress extremely light in weight and easy to wear.
• The neckline is scooped wide across so that the straps sit more on the edges of the shoulders. 
• At the back it is scooped even lower to leave your back bare and exposed. 
• A wide ruffle follows the entire neckline and gives it the prettiest flounce all the way around you. It continues down to follow the scoop at the back and it creates a bit of a pretty caped feel to the upper part of the dress.
• Underneath the ruffle the bodice skims down to the more generously cut waist. These more generous waists became a signature of Piccioli's work and made his pieces exceptionally easy to wear and fit.
• I love that except for that very top ruffle that edges the neckline all of the other ruffles are set in long vertical ruffles that run the full length of the dress all the way to the hem.
• The ruffles start underneath that ruffle around the neckline and then fall in long rows that follow vertical seams set from there to the hem. As they run down the length of the dress they widen out both in how they are spaced apart and also in the width of the actual ruffles.
• The incredible amount of ruffles covering the skirt combined with the lightness of the fabric gives you the prettiest movement when you move. 
• The final perfect touch is that he extended the skirt out past the hem at the back. This gives you a beautiful sweeping effect behind you. 
• This is an absolutely stunning dress and this particular cut of dress is one of my favourites.
• The dress is fully lined in a marching coloured silk chiffon and closes with a hidden set back zipper. The main Valentino tag is missing but it still has its inner tag which I have included in the photos. It appears to have been worn very little if at all.

• This is a gorgeous set that dates to the late 1950s - early 1960s.
• It has a Town and Travelwear label that tells us it was bought from the hotel Statler – Hilton in Dallas.
• Hotels in the 1950s and 1960s often had their own in-house label and teams of seamstresses on hand to fit their guests.
  
• Both the dress and cape are made out of a deep yellow embroidered cord and net lace that sits over a deeper yellow inner base.
• The lace is embellished with a little tiny faux seed pearls and glass tube beads. Iridescent sequins are sprinkled into the mix as are the occasional faceted bead and rainbow coloured prong set rhinestone.
• The cape and the dress are both highlighted with pale yellow feathers. On the dress the feathers are set in little tufts that circled the lower portion of the skirt and on the cape they edge the entire hem all the way around you.
  
• The dress has a sweetheart neckline at the front and I love how the embellishment is a bit heavier around the upper edge of the neckline. Inside it is formed and shaped though the bust. It has tiny piped straps that curve over the shoulders but it could also be worn strapless if you decided to tuck the straps in or remove them.
• The waist is shaped through the vertical seaming of the dress and then from there it curves out and over the hips. The skirt falls to the floor and narrows in slightly as it nears the hem. At the back there is slit to allow you to walk.
• The cape sits over the shoulders and is a single layer of the lace with no lining. I love that this lets you see the hand work at the back. All of the embellishment was applied by hand.
• It has a single clasp at the neck and the feathers have a pretty movement as you move.
• Its a gorgeous set and I always love when you have more than one piece because then you can mix and match things in your existing wardrobe.
• The dress has a yellow silky rayon structure behind the bust area and the rest of the dress is unlined. It closes with a back set zipper. The cape is a single layer of the lace with the feathers attached directly to it. It hooks to close at the collar. I see a small amount of fraying at the top of both straps the dress and some marks on the inner upper lining of the dress . Please see the photo after the label shot.

• The label on this dress gives us a date range of 1963 to 1977 for it to have been made in. 
• It was made under the creative direction of James Galanos.
• In 1951 Galanos was only 27 when he launched his first label called Galanos Originals. By 1954 he had won a Coty award and the Neiman Marcus award.
• His custom pieces were made close to couture standards and with a level of craftsmanship that was on par with the French couturiers. He was truly one of the great American designers and his work is held in all of the major museums around the world.
• This is a dress that is extremely well made with a very high level of construction techniques.
  
• The body of the dress is made from a yellow silk crepe that is cut on the bias and that has a slight texture to it. This is topped with a hand beaded bodice that is completely covered in a combination of yellow and blue glass tube beads.
• The straps are detailed with handset rows of the yellow beads set vertically and stacked side by side as they curve over the shoulders. 
• Over the bodice the beads are set horizontally to form stripes in different thicknesses. I love that they have mixed the deep royal blue beads with the yellow. These run all the way around the entire bodice from front to back.
• At the front, the fabric extends down at touch to attach into the waist and more beads are added there to form a thick band that runs all the way around the waist. Below the seam where they attach there is another inch of beadwork that wraps around you.
• At the front the bodice extends out into the straps and is meant to be more fitted to you. Starting at each side the fabric and beads split and this creates a full cut out open at the back so you get a strip of bare skin exposed. It is fantastic.
• The skirt skims over the hips and then flares out dramatically as it reaches the floor. The extra fabric in the skirt gives you beautiful movement as you move.
• As good as this dress looks in the photos, I think that it is so much better in person it is almost ridiculous. It is a really outstanding piece by him.
• The dress is fully lined in a handset yellow silk chiffon. There is elastic around the inner waist that just helps to hold it in place so it doesn't dip too much at the back. It closes with a side zipper on the bodice and then a second side zipper from the waist down. All of the bead work is done by hand and there are hand finishes throughout the dress. This is made to Demi Couture level.

• This dress is from the Spring 2018 collection. 
• It was made under the creative direction of Clare Wright Keller.
• The dress is made out of a black jersey that is cut on the bias. This lets it drape beautifully over you as it fall over the body.
• The ease of the jersey make it easy to both fit and wear and the fabric has enough weight to it that it is completely opaque. 
• The construction of the dress is fantastic. It is made to be one long tube with a seam at the waist on the front of the dress only.
• The shoulders are soft and the sleeves are long.
• The dress has no collar and plunges down at the front to the waist. Two long ties extend out from the base of the front plunge. You can loop or knot them and then they fall almost to the floor at the front
• The plunge at the front gives it a very edgy and sexy feel while the jersey keeps it feeling comfortable to wear.
  
• The skirt flares out at it reaches the floor with a high slit runs up the front so you get a flash of leg when you move
• The dress is in its original length and it closes with a back hidden set zipper. I see some minor grubbiness around the hem. It otherwise appears to have been worn very little if at all.

• This dress is from the 1978 season. 
• It was made under the creative direction of Pierre Cardin.
• The dress would have been made completely by hand in the Paris atelier. 
  
• The dress is made out of a very high-quality black silk chiffon that is feather light in weight. It gives the dress phenomenal movement around you once on the body.
• This is a fantastic and surprisingly avant garde Haute Couture dress by Pierre Cardin that shows the breadth and depth of his talent.
• From a historical perspective it is also an interesting insight on the volume and play on proportion being done during this time period.
• The design is simple and has a minimalist feel but is still striking and dramatic. It is really a piece that will only truly come to life once on so is a bit of what I like to call a 'trust me' dress because you have to trust a bit on how phenomenal it will be.
• The neckline is squared off right to the outer edges of the shoulder on both the back in the front. The back dips down a little bit lower for more skin to show.
• You could also wear this fully off the shoulders if you wished and just have the top of the sleeves drape down the arm. 
• Inside the bodice of the dress there is a strapless soft cupped bra made out of lingerie nude netting for the barest bit if support. 
• The silk chiffon falls from the shoulders and skims over the bust, flows past the waist and hips and then it widens out a touch more as it nears the floor.
• The easy flowing cut of the dress makes it easy to fit and wear.
• Under the top layer of black silk chiffon there is a layer of a dark brown silk chiffon. This keeps the dress from being too transparent and at the same time it creates the illusion that the dress has more transparency than it actually does as the two colours play against each other. 
  
• The sleeves are phenomenal. They are cut on a curve and are gathered into a piped wrist finished with a little bow made of the same piping.
• Once on they pouf and balloon out fantastically above your wrists. They are one of the most exaggerated balloon sleeves that I have ever actually seen on a dress but in the best possible way. Once on and held in place by your wrists they billow out around the arm. They are quite brilliant.
• It is an incredible dress and like many of his pieces it truly will only come to life once there is a body in it.
• It is remarkable piece of true couture and a true piece of fashion history.
• The dress is fully lined with a layer of dark brown silk chiffon. It slips on to wear and the inner bra hooks to close. It appears that a extension piece was added to the bra at some point. It would be easy to adjust the fit a bit on that if needed. I have included the measurements of the outer dress for you as well as the inner bra.
• The dress has no size tag since it is true couture. Please go by the measurements below.

• The twin of this jumpsuit walked the runway for the Spring 2000 Givenchy show. 
• It was made under the creative direction of Alexander McQueen 
• This is a very rare piece as are all of the pieces that he created while at Givenchy.
• Vogue noted that "Most of the collection was made up of tracksuits with high heels" and variations of the distinctive legs used on this jumpsuit were used through out the show. This jumpsuit and some variations of it was shown in several colours making it a key look of the collection. 
• The jumpsuit is made from a black fabric that has an almost utilitarian look to it. Somewhat like a light weight canvas in a way but without being a canvas. It is still light enough that it falls fantastically over the body. 
• This is a piece that shows his strong tailoring background and detailed knowledge of how to cut a piece to best suit a woman's body.
• The shoulders are lightly padded and the sleeve extend out straight to their ends.
• The collar is a nod to a men's suit with a notch above a graceful curve that falls to just above the waist.
• I love the plunge of the front and how it can be adjusted to sit as high or low as you dare. A zipper runs up the centre front and you can zip it higher or lower. 
• The waist is brought in through the seams at the sides with no horizontal line to break the eye. You could cinch it in even further by adding a belt either at the waist or at the hip like they did on the runway. 
• It glides over the hips with a band in the same fabric that sits just on top of the hip for detail and shape.  
• Each pant leg is cut long with a drawstring cuff at its end.This allows you to wear them with a more straight cut or it creates a more harem effect if you bring the drawstring in.
• Pockets on each hip are the perfect finishing detail and are a clever way to add to the jumpsuits shape. I love that it has these slant pockets on each side of the hip to slip your hands into.
• It is a phenomenal McQueen for Givenchy piece and highly collectible.
• The jumpsuit is fully lined in a black silk with ribbon finished edges. It closes with the zipper at the front. Light padding in each shoulder. What appears to be hand done top stitching on the collar. Drawstring with push metal clasps at each cuff. It will fit with a slightly more oversized, cut on a smaller frame.

• The fabric on the dress dates it to the 1972 collection. He did use some fabrics similar in 1971 as well so it is in that range.
• It was made under the creative direction of Jules-Francois Crahay.
• Crahay headed the Lanvin ateliers from 1964-1984 and he has been noted as one of fashion’s 'great colorists with his colorful patterns making his 1970s Lanvin designs hugely desirable and influential.'
• His time at the Lanvin label is one of my personal favourites for the house. I especially love the his work during the period through the late sixties and into the early 1970s.
• He was a genius at print and colour and he pushed the envelope in terms of using cutting edge fabrics available during this time period. This Lanvin dress is gorgeous and is from the main label.
• The dress has a gorgeous colour and print combination and it is made from mixing two fabrics and both hold colour exceptionally well so the colours are still crisp bright and true.
• The top portion of the dress is an easy silk jersey and then the skirt is one of his signature waffle weave cottons.
• The sleeves are long and simple. The neckline is scooped with a slightly wide cut. The top skims over you and the back goes down in a scoop to leave a bare expanse of skin showing.
• The waist is seamed and I love how the skirt is set into the waist in soft gathers so that it puffs out slightly around the waist. It also has a bit of a wrap effect where one side is open down the full length, but it is fully wrapped underneath so that you are completely covered.
• From there the skirt falls to the floor and it widens as it nears the hem.
• The fabric change on the skirt gives it a touch of weight so that it holds the shape well. The pattern is the same on both fabrics and yet they look slightly different because of the change in texture. It is brilliant.
• This full on pattern from head to toe makes the dress instantly recognizable as a piece of his work.
• The bodice is unlined and the skirt is fully lined in a white silky rayon. It closes with a back zipper. I see what looks like remnants of a lining here and there along the seams of the top. I see a small mark at the front. Please see the photo after the label shot. Hand finishes. The fabric of the top has some stretch and I have put the comfortable range below.
